The Makings of a Reaper [Mission]

The man was too fast, too strong, and simply outclassed Tenshi in every way. There was no way to close the distance with the devastating range of his wind powered jutsu which Tenshi imagined this to be his specialty. He couldn’t run either, he would only be tracked down and slaughtered with his leg in the state it was. Honestly, he doubted he could escape with his life even if he had been in perfect condition. Tenshi was outmatched.

“All of my hard work, training, dedication…for this. Impossible. I can’t die like this, I have to prove to the Raikage that I am worth something, I have to prove to myself.”

His thoughts were interrupted as a kunai whizzed through the air directly towards him. Tenshi responded with a shuriken that he had quickly drawn. He drew back his arm and flung the shuriken forward. In mid-flight they both collided, the sound of steel clashing together sent another set of echo’s through the town. However, blocking the Kunai wasn’t Tenshi’s only intention. Flying in the shadow of his shuriken was yet another shuriken aimed directly for the man who was looming where Tenshi had been perched earlier. The confidence in the Chuunin’s eyes faded slightly, replaced with a look of concern. With agility Tenshi didn’t know the man possessed, he quickly rolled to his side, but yet again Tenshi’s true intentions were hidden. A thin strand of ninja wire, invisible in the growing darkness connected the shuriken with Tenshi’s finger .

Tenshi could sense the momentum shifting in his favor, he had the rogue ninja on his heels, and this would probably be his only chance to make an offensive strike. Tenshi had no intentions of passing up this opportunity as his hands quickly formed 3 hand seals. The hand attached to the wire was consumed by bright electricity that jumped unpredictably across his hand. Every surface around Tenshi was bathed in light as the intensity of Chidori strengthened. The lightning traveled swiftly through the wire towards the whirling shuriken at its limit. With a simple twitch of the finger, the shuriken shifted its path aiming straight for the off balance Chuunin. As the lightning reached the end of the wire the shuriken burst into multiple pieces like exploding bright blue shrapnel which tumbled end over end as they pierced through the man’s torso and neck then exited into the building behind. All at once his eyes grew cold as all signs of life left his body, followed by a deafening roar of battle cries emitted from the audience Tenshi had forgot were watching. It was about to get ugly.
