As Chae moved, so too would Akuharu, albeit slower than his partner, marveling at the speed which even his own Sharingan seemed incapable of keeping up with. He lunged forward after the necessary chakra had been built, lunging to the building on the creatures right and ducking beneath a lumbering swing of the things powerful hands as it seemed to target him specifically. He thrust his hand forward at the last possible second, allowing the flow of chakra to form a tight sphere that was released just as the first building came tumbling down on their opponent.

Rasengan!

The base of the building exploded, blown clear out from the underside of the structure as it too fell into a collection of ruined brick, smashing into the beast that tried vainly to reform its gelatinous muck, shifting around places where it should have been crushed. But Akuharu had not stopped with his own strategy, and with a flickering of his hand, a rapid shaping of water pulled itself loose from the air and fell harmlessly onto the creature's gel-like remains. Though it seemed unhurt, merely deterred, by the collapsed buildings, what would come next could hopefully put it out of commission.

Throw as much Raiton as you can into the water!

He said over to Chae loudly, as metal fragments and split brick momentarily contained their foe beneath the water he'd just formed. They could end it now if the charge was large enough; he only hoped Chae could deliver.

Though from what he'd seen, he had little to worry about in that department.

Upon arriving to Akuharu's side, he unleashed a technique that Chae had never seen before yet seemed to be undeniably similar to his chidori in design. Having crushed the base of the building itself, Akuharu sent a myriad of debris flying over and on top of the creature, momentarily breaking apart its gooey essence. Additionally, strength turned out to be one of its weak-points as it'd been unable to lift the debris off from itself it, instead, attempted to reform itself elsewhere. Making effective use of his suiton release, water amassed and rained down upon the creature, dousing it amply as Chae already knew what Akuharu had in mind before even giving the signal for it. A single handseal beckoned forth the lightning variant of rasengan.

Chidori.

No more than a second later, a stream of lightning bolted foward across the ground, shocking the creature whilst being amplified by Akuharu's previously creation of water. A handful of seconds passed before Chidori nagashi ended and left licks of billowing smoke that rose from the creature in its wake. It appeared to have been defeated, however, with everything that happened, he couldn't usher in any certainty.

It is brilliant burst of light that obscures the dying moans of the creature; its essence is spread in droplets of thickened liquid that fizzle and explode, the voltage of Chae's powerful technique amplified by both the Suiton transformed water coating the broken apart creature and its own body. Akuharu would shield his eyes from the erupting pseudo-flesh of the monstrous entity, and with his Sharingan rapidly searching for remains, be eventually satisfied with the cessation of energy flow that symbolized its death.

But the town was still empty. Its people still gone. Whatever the creature had done to them, the two Kirigakure shinobi could not now undo, and they were no closer to figuring out exactly what the creature was. The completion of this mission rang hollow within the mind of the Kirigakure Chuunin as he stood tall, glancing down at the fragmented stone besides him and the few garish sparks still sifting through the remaining metal and sludge. The high stress of the initial encounter has passed.

We should try to find survivors, perhaps there's something or someone we missed.

But Akuharu is not hopeful. He has seen the dead void of absence that lingers where there should be constant flows of chakra, and their brief but intense moments with the creature suggest that it has little in the ways of compassion or remorse. They look through the silent city-scape with what is no doubt a sense of loss, even though victory seems to have been claimed through their combined strengths. When they eventually come to exit the small town, Akuharu tries to concentrate on their return home, and not on the mystery surrounding their strange opponent.

Kirigakure...here we come.
