The silence was all but welcoming.

Shifting tides within the heaven above, the sun steadily began its descent. Streaks of orange and pink highlighted the growing blanket of purple that seemingly covered all for infinity and beyond. Dots, not larger than the tip of a pen were scattered arbitrarily, shimmering luster whites to further supplement the lighting of the passing day. An open pasture, for a mile in all directions rested beneath the firmament, and this would become the field for the battle to come.

Small boulders, moderate oaks, and endless blades of emerald compiled the scenery as one individual rested upon the face of one of the stone structures. Garbed in complete black, auburn eyes peered off into the distance. “How long has it been…?” sighing, a half-hearted smile slid across his lips. Uchiha Ryūsuke, former Hokage of the Hidden Leaf sat unobstructed, awaiting the evitable. Against the judgment of many, the talented youth accepted the most precarious mission he’d face up until this day. The foliage would soon be tainted in crimson red, and the owner of such a substance wouldn’t be named for some time.

Leg propped along the side, his left elbow rested serenely along his knee while his right arm was slightly extended out to his side. Held within his hand, spinning along his finger, a marked Kunai of uniqueness spiraled in controlled. Having reached the vantage point for the upcoming battle, the strawberry blonde requested to go in alone. His mentor unaware of his decision, the elders allowed him to do so, albeit diffidently. His talents were known, and his strength cherished. The lack of experience was the down factor to his plan. Hopefully, this would change their opinion of him. Sitting in the dead center, with little to cover him, the Shinobi was conscious of his surroundings, utilizing all senses to keep his composure and security in check.

"I’ll head to Kaminari… maybe he can help me," without effort, he vanished.

With the passing of a strange wind that told countless warnings of a brewing storm, the lone Sennin walked against it with a thick air of peacefulness. He was unaccompanied, following nor leading no other man, only carving out his own path with the esteem of true Sage. Having escaped back onto the cobblestone road from the forest that brought him to meet with Takumi aburame, he continued on towards the northern mountains. Momentarily, he contemplated on Takumi's true intentions and the intentions of those who sent him which had to have been none other than the Mizukage or some high ranking official. Regardless of who it was, the Sennin feared for the worse, an impending attack.

Out of his own experience as a shinobi from one of the man lower nations, he knew first hand that there existed only a handful of reasons for foreign shinobi to seek out a distant, or neighboring village. It was either gain general intelligence of said village, to propose and alliance, or to obtain its location for an imminent attack with the latter being the most common. However, there was a fourth reason, an exception, which was to protect the village and its people from potential harm no matter the situation.

That exception was Masuyo, a harbinger of peace.

Knowing the light sense of secrecy of villages from being born in one himself, he knew that acquiring its location was no difficult task, however, it did require some kind of effort and demanded tedious effort. For now, he only dwelt upon the subject lightly, refusing to interfere until the truth of their intentions were revealed. With the metal horns that sprouted from his headband jutting out from his hair, he continued forward, step by step as a long figure slid into view from the northern horizon.

A path whittled by the hands of god himself to test only the worthy, Kaminari’s mountains tested his will. A body torn by the tides of battle and invigorated by the willingness to continue, the former Hokage moved with a conflicted pace. Each step seeming heftier than the last, such a distinction in stride hadn’t affected the overall motivation to coming going. Terra’s eyes narrowing on the strawberry blonde, the planet itself awaited his arrival to his destination. Susanō—the god of storms himself couldn’t fathom the Uchiha’s intentions.

Soft pants echoing near silently to the general audience of stone and massif, Ryūsuke’s attire—riddled with cuts and filth hugged his filthy skin tightly. Bangs falling before his eyes, masking the cold crimson jewels¹ that beckoned fear into those upon revealing his surname. While not mildly worried with being attacked, over the years of edification and experience, the Uchiha learned self-regulation, and developed a certain prudence when treading in foreign land. Alas, he didn’t intend to implicate force without motive.

Dangling to his right side, held by nothing more than a frayed lace of rope, the twin dragons, still seething mildly tapped at his side upon each stride. The remains of his equipment save for smaller instruments locked away in a scroll, Ryūsuke did little to draw attention as a Shinobi, and hell on the notion of a wanderer as he headed down a south-running trail, until..

“Eh?” a quiet inquiry fell through the gap in his lips as the Uchiha paused in motion. Standing upright as best he could, the presence of another caught his blood-stained hues. Platform on nothing more than a stretch of dry dirt, most likely naturally stamped into the gradient, he did little more than what was necessary—he stood silent and awaited a confrontation of words, or hands.

1. Sharingan

The Sennin's pace continued, walking along the dirt road, no longer human in a spiritual sense. With a coating of red ink surrounding the perimeter of his eyes, his chakra exceeded the limits of a mere mortal ninja, massively being ten times greater. Through the eyes of those who saw the world as nothing more than coalesced particle of energy, the Sennin was nothing less than colossal, yet, the energy drawn from the natural world around him was quite peaceful. Every surrounding signature of energy that surrounded him seemed so minuscule, almost like a giant standing over an ant. . .

. . .with the giant's purpose being to protect said ant.

Nevertheless, the lone, silhouette figure drew closer and closer with each advancing step. He or she suddenly stopped in the middle of the road, perhaps to greet or had been expecting the Sennin? Regardless if that did or did not, Masuyo eloquently pressed forward across the moist loam of Kaminari no Kuni. Although silent, a thick layer of olive drab armour remained hidden beneath the confines of the Sennin's robes. Upon approaching the now idle figure, only 5 meters of space separated the two as Masuyo came to realize that the shadowy figure was just a simple man. Looking deep into his eyes, the Sennin was more curious about the mans course of action rather than who he actually was.

"I'm curious about something. Do you always suddenly stop in the middle of the road like this? "

It was abnormal—almost atrocious.

Through eyes that saw through everything, the volume of spiritual strength that enveloped the now still-stoic man was preposterous. Streaks of colors never seen in this amalgamation nor in this volume—at least in a single man—the Uchiha was dumbfounded. His Sharingan, the window in which he perceived the world had just digested a new aspect; one in which he wasn’t familiar with. And while not as vast as the two construct of pure chakra—the Bijū—this man held a reservoir of life force well beyond even the ‘gift’.

Regardless of the swells of blue and other earthen tints, Ryūsuke held his composure, or what was left after his resurgence. Long enough to receive the message of words and construct a response. “Excuse my oddity. ” he exclaimed in his normal tone: rich, relaxed, collected while still holding a youthful maturity as he sighed deeply. “I’ve been traveling for the last several days—from Kusa no kuni. I guess I’m just a little exhausted

[/color]” holding his words at that final dictum, the Niidaime awaited an equally dutiful, though vague reply from the regally-dressed stranger.

Meanwhile and simultaneously, through the strawberry blonde bangs that cascaded across his facial features, the male’s Sharingan danced across the features of his opposite-standing male. Ever so gradually would his senses move from left to right, taking in every convoluted detail of the man who stood before him. A robe that obtruded enough from the individual’s body as impressions were only visible to the keen detailing of his inheritance; did he host another layer? The kohl that allowed his visual windows to ‘pop’ were greeted by the formidable, though subtle horns that protruded from his steel protector. Judging from his attire alone, the Hokage was quick to assume the obvious; he wasn’t a typical man.

Exhausted? His form and voice told otherwise, but perhaps he merely masked exhaustion for the sake of preserving his pride. Regardless if he hid it or not, Masuyo couldn't just let him continue on such a long journey without some form of help. The Sennin knew the perils of traveling alone all to well as a mere child who abandoned his village without even a single coin to his name. Without a someone apt in culinary arts, it was amazing just how often one would starve between meals. His right hand raised and dove into the inner layers of his robe, removing a piece of edible bread, fresh and still relatively warm. A quick flick of the Sennin's wrist sent that piece of brad hurling up and over towards the opposite standing man. Whether or not the man caught the Sennin's food offering was entirely up to him, if he were truly exhausted, the acceptance of his 'gift' would have proved to be rewarding.

"Please, sit, I've acquire knowledge of medical ninjutsu during my career as a shinobi, perhaps I could be of help?"

Masuyo stared straight into the man's eyes the entire time he spoke. There was a genteel seriousness inside his eyes, one that overshadowed the pain and sadness he once faced. Presuming that the man seated himself, Masuyo stepped over to him in a peaceful fashion. He whipped back the loose ends of his robe around his legs and dipped down on both knees, weaving through hand-seals thereafter.

"Show me where you've been injured, reversing the damage done is the least I could do. Also, what exactly happened within Kusa no Kuni to reduce you to such a state. "

He was generous. Just as quickly as the man allowed his hand to reach into the depth of his robes and pull out the rough dosh, would the Uchiha’s hand move out. His palm opening before the bread could even hover to his space, the loaf found refuge in his worn grasp as he looked upwards, the tails of the passing wind pressing against his bangs only to slide them aside momentarily, allowing the richness of his eyes to gleam for but a second’s time .

“Arigato,” the younger shinobi exclaimed, falling into a swift Indian-esque position before biting into the dry bread. During this process would the dark rags he accessorized fall to the ground, allowing his stained and bruised torso to demonstrate the acts of war through visualization alone. “Are you not familiar with the Yonbi’s assault?” he couldn’t help but to inquire as he continued to gradually snip nutrition from the food he was given, bite by bite.

Having no true sense of time, or even the day of the week, it was acceptable in Ryūsuke’s mind to assume he hadn’t been unconscious for too long. Needless to say, akin to the events that transpired in his own village years ago, Father Time didn’t offer him toe luxury of growing with the generation’s cataclysmic events. Soft, crimson oculars peering up towards the man as he weaved a melody of seals, the Sharingan propped upon his facial features continued to track the trails of chakra that danced feverishly around the man’s frame, though transitioning between stages of peace and serenity.

Performing a string of complicated handseals, the Sage's digits danced their way throughout the galaxies. Upon the final seal, the Sennin's hands reached out with open palms and hovered about a foot or so from the Uchiha's body as a deep emerald light enveloped both hands. Reaching out even further, the orbs of light around his hands reached into the mans body, instantly reversing all forms of injuries, internal or external. In the next second, the Uchiha spoke again, motioning towards an incident involving the Yonbi, a four-tailed beast of unfathomable power. He was surprised to learn that such a beast appeared so openly, but considering everything that he had recently been through from destroying Kaminari's capital to completing his senjutsu training, it wasn't far-fetched that the information managed to miss his ears.

"The Yonbi has appeared? It seems that I've missed out on that opportunity. What happened exactly?"

While inquiring about the events regarding the Yonbi, the medical ninjutsu used by the Sennin started to show even greater results, nearly rejuvenating the Uchiha completely. Looking over his initial injuries, luckily he wasn't critically injured, in fact, his injuries were quite mild in nature. He figured that if the Uchiha answered his question properly, he'd come to understand the origin's of his exhaustion.

Sitting in complete silence, the only audible allusion to his healing came from the resonating bustle that echoed off the chakra-engrossed influences. Index by index allowed a subtle trace of revitalizing energy to leap upon the face of his skin, only to seep through his body and into the organs. Within moments the energy once lost returned to his person and the Uchiha couldn’t help but sigh in content. It had been some time since he’d felt so alive and while not truly in perfect condition, one couldn’t disclose the renaissance implemented into his once threadbare frame. He was grateful nonetheless.

Looking up, paying more attention to the man’s orbs instead of the vibrant outline that bolded his facial features, the Uchiha held a more complex gaze. Had someone really not known about the events that had transpired in the Grass Country? While Konohagakure wasn’t exactly years off its costal lines, the Hokage remembered seeing faces and crests that hailed from other provinces beside his own home. Surely it was an international crisis and should have been fairly known. Mysteriously enough, the first person upon actually talking to after his arousal was just as confused on the topic as he was on the times.

“W-well.. (clears throat)… Kusa no Kuni was threatened with the beckoning of one of the Nine Bijū—its intentions were clear. As a civil service to our neighbors, I led my forces and formulated an assault. Others Hidden Villages were involved and that’s as much as I can remember…”

Reaching into the pouch that rested peacefully at his right hip, just beneath the smoldering steel that kept his body warm, Ryūsuke would search it contents. With the mention of leading it should have been obvious, his position in the Shinobi world. Nonetheless as his right hand reemerged, the ornament in which he now proposed to his ally should have spoken a thousand more words. His Hitai-ate—incised with the insignia of the Hidden Leaf, the Uchiha had informally proclaimed himself as the Hokage—the Second Fire Shadow. His Sharingan subsiding, allowing his hues to revert back to their normal auburn, he’d wait for any form of compliance.

[Messatsu!]

“W-well.. (clears throat)… Kusa no Kuni was threatened with the beckoning of one of the Nine Bijū—its intentions were clear. As a civil service to our neighbors, I led my forces and formulated an assault. Others Hidden Villages were involved and that’s as much as I can remember…”

The Sennin continued to watch and listen to the man as he worked. The process of his medical technique had nearly been completed, evident by the sudden, vigorous expression that swapped presence with his exhaustion. His energy levels seemed to have replenished, and fast! The Uchiha no longer looked to be a rag tag bum vagabonding along a cobblestone road with no place to lay his head. As the Sennin listened to the mans words and mulled over them even deeper, he found himself growing more intrigued with each passing syllable. Silently he wondered, thinking of a great many potential reasons which would have triggered or caused the appearance of such a beautiful creature. Although the Sennin had never laid eyes on a tailed beast nor faced one in combat, he saw them misunderstood creatures, believing there is more to them than what one hears from stories.

Finally, after several moments, the rejuvenation process was complete. And with that, the Sennin hands retreated away from his body as the emerald glow faded almost instantly. Pushing himself up to a full stand, he watched the man pull out what looked to be his Hitai-ate, the hidden leaf carved into its material. How ironic, on his way towards Konohagakure and coincidentally comes across one of their own. A quick second grin swept across his face as his arms reach up heavenwards, stretching his body. Once he came to a standing rest, he spoke.

"What a coincident, I'm heading towards Konohagakure myself. If you're attempting to head home, why not join me?"

Cordially, he smiled and held out his hand, offering to help the Uchiha up. With his well-being rejuvenated -for the most part- he shouldn't have had any further trouble in terms of fatigue for quite some time, and lets face it, the Sennin wanted to know more about this Yonbi. To have survived such a battle, he thought this man to be quite interesting.

A proposition? Looking up with a rather impassive, detached glare, blank in all form of expression, he sighed. Coming to a stand, strong as it was solid with the aid of the homoeopathic prowess demonstrated by his companion the Hokage would set his attention elsewhere. Looking into the depth of the day, allowing his auburn hues to compliment the daubed beauty of blue and white streaks; the sun’s vibrant rays warming his skin to the touch. Gathering all thoughts for the time being, attempting to formulate a response, he’d continue to neglect direct eye contact for the moment.

“While I can’t help but to deny this---- I feel like I’ve been gone from my home for far too long.

[/color]” The Uchiha allowed his words to flood the air in a casual manner. Devoid of anger or repentance, it was almost as if he couldn’t believe it himself; as if he doubted the very concept he presented to the Sage. True enough, to what he remembered, he had only left Konohagakure days prior and fought the grandiose monster of flames and lava just moments ago, father time didn’t bother waiting on the former Leader. This alone only underwired his willingness to return home and see the faces and edifices he’d spent a near decade protecting with his very hands.

Taking to the ground once more, only to grab the robes he formerly unvarnished from his frame, the Uchiha would turn towards the spiritually connected human. “I will travel with you, though I must ask,” cutting his words off with the tossing of his arms, allowing the black kosode to once again wrap around his frame as he tautened it, Ryūsuke would continue his words. “I’m curious—what business do you have in the Hidden Leaf?" Robed once more, the Hokage found his curiosity spiking with the mentioning of his village. In the times he remembered, vagrants and entries of foreign provinces did little to benefit his home. And while open to all guest, he still held an obligation to know all that transpired within her walls.

Masuyo could have helped but notice the impassivity and aloofness that claimed the Uchiha's face. Ever since his training upon Mount Youbin and Mount Nobunaga with Shiju and Namyeol, he found himself looking upon the same detached face on a great many shinobi. Thing is, he never really knew why so many lived their lives with such a face whether it was permanent or temporary. The Sennin felt there was no need for it in the world. Before coming to acknowledge the world for what it truly was, he too often walked around with the same face, a face that screamed with pain and sorrow, a face only crafted from the experiences of war and death. It was that very face that drove him to desire peace and the removal of the great nation's Daimyo. Silently he watched the man come to a full stand as his attention seemed to have been directed elsewhere.

“While I can’t help but to deny this---- I feel like I’ve been gone from my home for far too long.”

The mans choice of words allowed Masuyo to relate, also feeling like he had been away from his home for far too long, years to be specific. Since the time he left as a mere child, the memories of his home faded from his mind one by one, enough so that remembering his own home became difficult. The Sennin's hand arms raised up and folded just above his chest as he watched the Uchiha retrieve his robe. He spoke to Masuyo a moment later, agreeing to travel with him but also inquiring about the Sennin's reason for reaching Konohagakure.

"You seem like a trust worthy man, so before I go even further, I'd like to introduce myself. Masuyo Kekkai of Amegakure, its a pleasure to meet you. As for me wanting to visit the Hidden Leaf, it's necessary for me to meet with the current Hokage, Jiyuu Tenrai. Both he and I are expecting to devise a plan to dethrone the puppeteers of this world - The Daimyo. If you're worried a bout the well-being of your home, please, do not worry, I don't intend on harming anyone or anything. "

”The current Hokage?””

Words as sharp as a whetted katana, and as tangled as a stray in the night, the Uchiha’s expression of impassivity shifted to a more ominous variant. While still young, Ryūsuke’s reign as Hokage, to his knowledge, lasted for several years vigorously until the Yonbi attack, and without gen of current events, it was likely that assumptions of his whereabouts had long since faded. Needless to say, news to the ignorant would be taken at face value, and diffused back, spite.

His head shifting, allowing his eyes, cold and stern, to face the man who uttered the name of Konohagakure Fire Shadow, he held a pause for but a second. “ I’m afraid to inform you but--- I’m the Niidaime Hokage, Uchiha Ryūsuke.” Allowing, if not coercing the title imparted to him by his village and country years ago to hold presence in the open, Ryūsuke wanted every fiber of his declaration to sink into the consciousness of the Sage. A political figure and nationally recognized leader, the Uchiha’s name was by no means silent beneath the sound of the world’s tongue. Ties within Kumogakure and endeavors that bridged into other nations, he was an existence well-documented. Or at least he was.

“Jiyū Tenrai--- I don’t know of this man.” Allowing the sincerity of his truthfully spoken words to lance the Sage, Ryūsuke had discovered a newly-found misperception that overshadowed any and all previously acquired sensations of confusion. Had he been gone that long? How could Konohagakure acquire a new Fire Shadow in his short absnce? And if this man spoke nothing more than the truth, what was his status—did his people believe him to be dead? Left lifeless within the pandemonium of the Yonbi attack?

He seemed confused and in disbelief regarding the Sennin's mention of the current Hokage. Not only that, but his facial expression also changed, no significantly, but it changed without a doubt. His reaction led the Sennin to momentarily believe that he had been suffering from a mild case of amnesia. Masuyo's eyes widened with an innocent look of surprise and bewilderment the moment the Uchiha's eyes turned to meet Masuyo's own. He gave a cordial shrug just a moment before he tried to disprove of the Sennin's previous comment regarding the Hokage. “I’m afraid to inform you but--- I’m the Niidaime Hokage, Uchiha Ryūsuke.”, an eye brow raised in confusing at the man, speaking as if the Sennin was crazy and was actually supposed to believe that he was still the Hokage. Regardless, thing got interesting right after he revealed his true identity as the previous leader of the Hidden leaf. Masuyo's hands went to grab for both hip's as he stood and examined the man even closer than he had already done.

Another moment came to pass as the man spoke once more and motioned towards him not knowing who Jiyuu Tenrai was. He was, just like the Sennin previously said, the Hokage. Had that mans words proved to be true in regards to being the Niidaime hokage, that, in contrast, made Jiyuu the Sandaime Hokage. Going off the mans deep sense of disbelief and Masuyo's own knowledge after having met the Sandaime Hokage, he thought there to be only true way to convince this man and cure his hysteria.

"Right! I've got it! I'll show you better than I can tell you."

The Sennin's hands weaved together, forming an intricate family of hand-seals which only heralded the coming of his proficiency in Kuchiyose. And with the completion of his seals, he bit down on his right thumb with enough pressure to have drawn blood. Thereafter, with an open palm, his hand slammed down into the ground as black designs began spreading out and away from said hand. With a quick harmless emission of smoke, as it faded, the Sandaime Hokage was expected to be standing juxtaposed to Masuyo's righter most flank.

Finally, signing this contract also allows the animal to reverse summon the human ninja to their location.
