What was left of a once great nation was of course in ruins, as most had been left following the great war. There had been some renewal in the lower nations, but little that we had seen. After all, the ninja world was far more concerned about keeping the brokered peace treaty in check than it was with squabbling over other territories. Or at least, we had believed so, until word reached we in Sunagakure of a larger issue. There were rumors of a rampaging beast, one that sought to level the countryside and to bring unto it the very rage that so spurned it to destroy. Of course each nation had been informed. Not to do so would be considered base treachery of the alliance. Furthermore, reinforcements had been called in from everywhere to deal with the threat. It was the first big project for those belonging to the treaty of the five to deal with. We were to tackle the tailed beast together, and thus, so we would. ____________________ "Masao, this could be dangerous. Please don't underestimate what we're up against, here." I was scared for the world. A tailed beast roamed free, and we had been sent to fight it, to capture it if possible, but mostly to subdue and aid our allies in detaining the beast. I wasn't sure if any other representatives from Sunagakure would be joining us. For now, it seemed it was only Masao and I who had been selected. I shuddered at that thought. The two of us, and whoever else would show up, against what legends told was one of the most fearsome and ferocious creatures to ever stalk the earth... It was a truly frightening idea. As we walked onwards through the sand and the wind, I could only hope that whoever else came with us was competent. I didn't want to see anyone dying at the hands of the threat we faced. |
