The blades of vengeances have fallen swiftly. The shinobi are no more as 'Absolute Justice' has returned...now, it is the Samurai that rule the Five Major Nations!
But at what cost? Have they become the very thing that they despised the most...? Heroes and villains seem to change roles every day, but one thing is for certain - we yearn for our freedom, for days gone by where we flew the skies unhindered.

⇢Recollection: "I remember the bubbles, drifting upward past my face. My eyes followed them to the top of the large, fluid-filled cylinder that housed my floating body. The breathing apparatus that covered my nose and mouth smelled particularly sterile that day, which I thought was odd. Somewhat obscured by the thick glass were two figures standing before me. They held notepads on which they scribbled in between the long stares that were shared between me and the monitors attached to my cylinder and each other. They weren't the men who usually did these things, nor were they familiar at all. I was sure that I hadn't seen them in the compound before. I hated being in the cylinder. I remember Mother telling me earlier that day that it would be my last session like that. She usually stayed with me while I did them. She wasn't there that time.
I remember a man walking into the room. He wasn't wearing a ?? facility uniform, which was against protocol during any tests involving me. He didn't even acknowledge the two men with the notepads. I started talking, but I couldn't hear what he was saying. I saw the way they looked at him, though. They seemed very confused and concerned about whatever he was saying. Then he walked up to the glass and looked at me; my eyes specifically. His eyes were cold, which was strange because I had never met him before. I saw no reason for him to feel negatively toward me, but it seemed like he did. When he turned away from me, he attacked the scientists. He did so with great precision and form, killing them in only a handful of movements. I screamed and struggled to break free, to get out and to stop the man who was casually walking toward the door.
Then red lights started flashing in the room and out in the corridor, and I could hear an alarm blaring, though the sound was muffled by the glass and the fluid. I was thankful for this, because I hated the noise. I saw people running past the door and I banged on the glass for help, but none of them stopped. Mother came running in then. She covered her mouth in shock at the sight of the dead scientists, and she cautiously stepped over their bodies and up to me. She looked very worried. I had never seen her like that. Mother began typing on on the the monitors' keyboards -- she was trying to drain the fluid and get me out, but it wasn't working. Then she opened a hatch on the side of the cylinder itself. When she pulled it, the glass opened up like a door and I spilled onto to the floor along with all the fluid.
"A man killed them, mother!" I said, in between breathes. "It was a man, I didn't --"
"I know you didn't, May," Mother said reassuringly as she helped me to my feet. "Come on, we need to get you somewhere safe."
She led me out into the hall where the alarm blared so much louder. I covered my ears to block out the noise, but to no avail. The facility's staff members were running all over the place. Some were lying on the floor, not moving. I started to head toward one when Mother tugged my arm and darted down the corridor with me at her mercy. I trusted Mother. We ran down a number of corridors, some of which I had never gone down. The chaos was the same no matter where we went though. I remember us turning a corner and stopping abruptly. Far ahead of us two men dressed in all black were stabbing a scientist to death. "Stop!" I yelled. The one that held the scientist pushed his limp body to the ground and the two of them charged toward us.
There was a sudden, loud rumbling and something shook the entire facility then. The two men lost their balance and tripped. Mother's balance seemed to falter a bit, but I was there to keep her from falling. I watched her weave handseals together and expel a gust of wind from her mouth. The two men and the dead scientist slide and flew down the hall, away from us. I had never seen Mother use Ninjutsu before that. We ran and turned down one more hall that led us to an elevator. Mother pressed the button over and over and over again, but to no avail. The elevator wasn't coming fast enough for her. There was another loud rumbling and the lights went out for a moment. I felt Mother's grip on my hand tighten. The lights flickered and came back on just as the elevator arrived. A man in black stood there when it opened. It was Father.
"Thank goodness you too are alright, he said as he pulled us into the elevator and pushed the button that closed the doors repeatedly until they closed. "I've got them. We're heading down to you." he spoke into the communicator on his wrist. It was then that I noticed the blood on Father's uniform. It wasn't his. Moments later, the elevator stopped its descent and it's doors opened to more chaos. We had arrived in a train station. I didn't know that the facility had a train station before then. Scientists and officials were limping, crawling, and even being carried into the train. The three of us ran up to a man whom father began speaking to. The man's clothes also had blood on them.
The cars on the train exploded, one by one. I had never seen so much fire in my life. We were all knocked to the floor and all I remember hearing is twisting metal and burning screams. Mother, Father and I were the only three to get up from the floor. The man that Father had spoken to had a large piece of steel sticking out of his back. Everyone else was burning or burnt or crushed or vaporized. Mother and Father led me out of a side door and down a corridor and then out of another door that led into the snow. We walked and walked and Mother told me "Don't look back, May, don't look." over and over. So I didn't until we had been walking for miles. There was a column of smoke that rose all the way into the clouds. Everything went black after that."
⇢Entry from Mother's log: Log Date: 11AC, 12:42am. Eleven days have passed since the Catastrophe. We have since relocated to Konohagakure no Sato. My husband's family was gracious enough to take us into their home. In the days following the Catastrophe, Soname has shown no signs of negative physiological or psychological changes. Admittedly, I was worried after she blacked out that when she came to something would have been wrong with her psyche. I was amazed that all of the explosions hadn't triggered her ?? into activating. When she came to she was different, though. She's become more stoic and distant and she asks questions about things that she should understand and at times she looks at ordinary objects like they're completely foreign to her.
A few days ago, however, she showed interest in my husband's family. They're shinobi, so I shouldn't be surprised. It's in her blood. In addition to this, she got a little rowdy with one of the boy's in my husband's family. He's around her age, so to speak. The only other people of her age that she's interacted with are the other subjects from ??, who I presume have perished in the Catastrophe. The boy from today is the first ordinary child that she's met, and before today I had never seen her act so...normal. My husband wasn't there to witness it, but when I told him about it he said that it was nothing to worry about.
We have decided to enroll her in Konoha's Shinobi Academy. She would have undergone a similar sort of schooling regiment back at ?? so my husband and I feel like this is essential for her development.
Her physique is standard for a girl of her age and size. Her genetics and training at ?? have conditioned her body so that it is nimble and quick while retaining a decent amount of strength and stamina. Her hair is black and shoulder-length. Her skin is pale and flawless in the sense that it is free of any blemishes or scars. Her eyes are large and violet colored.
Simplicity reigns over eccentricity. A tight, black jumpsuit coats her form from her neck to her ankles. Worn over that is generally a neutral-romper, but occasionally she'll don a skirt or sundress.

[li] Isane, otherwise referred to as Mother, is one of Soname's two parental figures. She has known Soname for her entire life and has been with her since the beginning. Before the Catastrophe, Isane worked at the ?? facility as a Psychoanalyst. She has since taken to being a full-time caregiver for Soname.
[li] Koroda is the father-figure in Soname's life, despite not having any blood relation to her. He is generally referred to as Father, but in certain situations he is addressed as sir. Formerly a Physiologist for ?? and at one time a Jounin of Konohagakure, he has since become a simple academy teacher.

Sutangan no Jutsu (Limb Stunning Technique) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: 4 Chakra Consumption: Mid The electric influence that exists over the human body and its muscles allows one to control the later through unconventional methods, including through the means of chakra. After charging a small electric shock in the user’s hands, one can approach their victim and place the charged hand onto a limb or muscle on their body, unleashing the pent up shock and rendering the aforementioned target useless for the rest of the turn. Although simple, it’s highly effective when the user is faster than the victim, and can outmaneuver them as they strike. Also highly effective for keeping captives in place!
Note: If used on a person’s head, they will be knocked out for a single post. Limbs are numbed for a whole turn. Stunning effect cannot be stacked. The user must touch the victim with their hand to achieve the desired effects.
Mekurumeku (Blind Flash) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: 5 Chakra Consumption: A basic yet effective Raiton technique, the user focuses a bit of chakra all over their body, letting the lightning gather and then quickly exploding, effectively providing a blinding light that leaves all within the range blind. Useful for disorientation and quick get-aways.
Jibashiri (Earth Flash) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m) Type: Offensive Handseals: 4 Chakra Consumption: Mid Raiton- Jibashiri is a Ninjutsu utilizing the Lightning Element. After soaking the ground/opponent either with a Suiton technique or a conductive surface, the user will charge their palms with electricity and unleash the current into the ground. It will run along the earth and towards the opponent in order to shock them.
Danpen Inazuma (Shooting Thunder) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: - Chakra Consumption: Mid Meant more as a reactionary technique than a main avenue of offense, this jutsu allows the user to essentially shoot out small lightning bolts from a free hand to anyone within a small range. This requires no seals to conjure, and can be shot out from one’s appendage during the most heated of combat. The damage is light and the bolts shoot off in a relatively straight line, at rapid speeds.
Eshaku Raikou (Lightning Bow) Rank: C Range: Mid (5m ~ 10m), Far (10m+) Type: Offensive Handseals: 4 Chakra Consumption: Mid to cast, low per arrow afterwards After performing the needed handseals, the user will wave both arms through the air, leaving Raiton chakra behind in the shape of bow and arrow. The lightning arrow can then be shot at an opponent and stun them from afar. By taking extra time to focus their energy, the arrow can be re-shaped for distance, rather than power.
Chidori (One Thousand Birds) Rank: A Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: 3 Chakra Consumption: High One of the rare techniques within the shinobi world involving both shape and nature manipulation, Chidori is a Raiton based ninjutsu developed for the purpose of ensured assassination purposes. Activating the body to focus chakra to the hand, the user's hand become enveloped by an electrical force. This force is their chakra altered in nature to an electrical current. By altering the shape of the force, similar to an electrical discharge, they can decide the power and range of the attack. After concentrating all the chakra into the arm, the user rushes forward in order to use the power of the thrust from the chakra to pierce any object with the extended forearm. Due to the high speed, the force emits a sound like a thousand birds chirping which gave the technique its name.
Note: Pierces through barriers 'A' rank and below, and instantly paralyzes the victim's body upon impact for the remainder of the turn it was used, presuming the strike doesn't kill the victim.
Fuubaku Houjin (Exploding Seal Method Formation) Rank: D Range: - Type: Supplementary Handseals: 1 Chakra Consumption: Low Fuubaku Houjin is a Ninjutsu technique used by shinobi in conjunction with common explosive devices such as exploding notes. With this, the user can choose when their explosives detonate, opposed to being at the mercy of a countdown.
Note: This ability allows the user detonate his or her explosive notes, opposed to allowing them to be "timed" explosives. Without this technique, the user cannot automatically detonate their tags.
Kai (Release) Rank: D Range: - Type: Supplementary Handseals: 1 Chakra Consumption: Low Kai is a Ninjutsu technique which allows the ninja to avoid the effects of a Genjutsu illusion. After forming the needed handseals, the Genjutsu technique will not affect the ninja. The ninja can also use the technique on another individual who was unable to avoid the attack. After forming the needed hand seals, the ninja touches the one affected to end the affect of the spell.
Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: 3 Chakra Consumption: Low - Massive A powerful jutsu intended to call forth aid when in dire need, Kuchiyose allows a ninja to summon a a variety of entities and items meant to assist them in a dire situation. From people to animals, to inanimate objects such as weapons and items, these creations come forth out of thin air near-instantly after the seals are done and into the battlefield. Keep in mind each summoning in question requires a previous contract to be filled out. Finally, signing this contract also allows said summoning to be able to reverse summon the human ninja to their own location.
Note: All summons have their own chakra cost, which the user will need to meet in order to bring them forth. In terms of inanimate objects, the user can summon up to ten secondary weapons for a Low amount of chakra (per summoning); on the other hand, they may summon up to five primary weapons for a Mid amount of chakra (per summoning).
Kasumi Juusha no Jutsu (Mist Servant Technique) Rank: D Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m) Type: Offensive Handseals: 3 Chakra: Low Kasumi Juusha no Jutsu is a universal sight Genjutsu technique that creates false attackers to delay and confuse the enemy. Though these servants are not real, the actual ninja is able to remain hidden and throw projectiles such as kunai and shuriken matching the movements of the servants. This makes it appear the false servants are capable of attacking. When the enemy attempts to attack the servant, they will merely disrupt the servants illusion body but not destroy it. These clones will continue to multiply each time they are disrupted, eventually wearing the target out into a state of exhaustion.
Tsuchi no Ouchi no Jutsu (Spoil Pit Technique) Rank: C Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: 5 Chakra Consumption: Mid The user performs the necessary hand seals, designating their target within their range. Immediately, the target will perceive the surface beneath their feet to be soft and giving, so much so that they begin to sink into it. The target will sink up to their knees and perceive that they are unable to free themselves from the earth, which has hardened around their legs until the technique is complete.
Manugareru (Escape) Rank: B Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Defensive Handseals: 2 Chakra Consumption: High If the user comes under attack, they can use this technique to cover their escape. After forming the needed hand seals, their body will disperse into a "shower" of whatever they have an affinity for. This shower will confuse and distract their opponent while they escapes or hide.
Note: Those outside of the immediate range of this technique will still be able to see the caster attempting to escape, and can thusly counter.
