Death within the world of Naruto is commonplace, as evident by the many examples the anime & manga provide, where kills are glorified and frequent. However, this is not to say Death is the norm. If anything, NRP's latest reiteration wants to shy way from 'Finish Him!' mentality and the senseless character death. Characters are important to each and every person that creates them, regardless of how involved they actually intend to be, or have been, with their personal story. Because of this, character death shall be handled on a condition basis here on NRP. In other words, rather than being constantly under the guise of Death-Enablement, you the player can now control this by RP'ing in areas that realistically safe for your faction affiliation.
Essentially, during Special Events, most of the action and progress of the forum and its story takes place. Think of earning ranks, relics, Kinjutsu, money, etc. Because of this, Events will automatically turn on the possibility of death for every participant. However, it isn't just a particular thread. Events tend to involve a whole nation, or at times, even multiple, and therefore turn death on over every country involved, until the Event's conclusion. Anything outside of this means your character cannot die unless you give permission for it to happen. On personal quests, feel free to battle, beat up, and kidnap each other, but unless the owner's character gives the green light for death, we won't allow it. This keeps everyone's personal stories uninterrupted, and gives the players fair warning as to what their getting into.
If your character dies, there is only one rule - you lose everything except your EXP. That can be used for stats and techniques when creating a new character.
The act of looting involves a player actively gaining items off of the body of another player's character, or even an NPC in possession of items and money. Looting can be very beneficial because of the things that can be found, whether one wishes to resell what they discover, or maybe even improve their own inventory. Regardless, there a few rules that must be followed when it comes to looting:
- When looting from another PC, one must be present within the thread of their demise prior to their death. That means that if Player A dies and then Player 'B' enters the thread, Player 'B' cannot collect that loot. However, if Player 'C' dies right after 'B' entered the thread, then 'B' can loot 'C' to his or her heart's content.
- Following the previous stipulation, one can loot any equipment (weapons, armor & accessories) found on the body, as well as their Ryo.
- In terms of Follower NPC's, one can either kill them off, keep them as their own, or sell them back to the shops in the form of slaves. Keep in mind these still fill up spaces, so if you have your Follower amount maxed out, then you'll be forced to either kill or sell the NPC's right away.
- When it comes to a player's Territories, those becomes open and fair game for conquest. A special thread will be held to determine the winner of the conquest and thus the new owner of the territory.
