These boots resemble that of regular boots, but, not in particular style for the average traditional shinobi who sticks with sandles. Though, still possessing the shinobi sandles original designs, made exclusively for the Nara clan.

Special: Kage no Fumu is the ability that the user has when wearing Kage Kawagutsu. It allows them to instantly in-lock a Kage Mane on their targets just by stepping onto their shadows. The strength of the hold on the bind is the same of that of your rank of Kage Mane, which means the user has to have A-rank Kage Mane. Once the user steps onto their shadow, everything turns over to the users Kage Mane ability and can use any other one of their abilities after, if they wish. What ever rank of Kage Mane the user is using is how much per turn the chakra of the user is consumed, plus the starting High consumption to activate the boots.
Description: Kage no Fumu is a Ninjutsu technique used in conjunction with the Kage Kawagutsu. First, the user must perform the Rat handseal, the base of all Nara jutsu to activate the boots, and then to hold the seal until contact with the shadow is made. These boots possess the same ability as the Nara's Kage Mane technique, albeit it can't release the extending shadow of the user to it's target(s). It can only be used by actually stepping onto the shadow of the target(s), then that allows the user to bind them, without holding to perform the shadow extending handseal of the Nara (rat handseal). The technique is very useful, but at the same time, very dangerous, having you to get so close to the user to have to capture them in the Kage Mane, via the boots. Only skillful Nara should use the boots.

Okay, question.

If the strength of the technique is derived from the character's Kage Mane no jutsu, then why does the technique in question have multiple ranks? That seems like a redundant draw-back, unless you're trying to say that the user must learn the equivalent rank of the technique for each rank of their kage mane, which again, seems redundant and pointless.

Overall I'm not a fan. To me it seems like:

• A way to forgo using and having to maintain handseals.
  
• Instant paralysis to the opponent with no repercussions on behalf of the Nara (What's stopping you from stomping a shadow and kunai'ng a fool in the face?)

Let's be honest. There's nothing dangerous about being in close proximity to an individual who is paralyzed so, unless some convincing revisions can be made, this gets my ^1/2 denial.

Well, what do you want me to change? Besides, Nara only form the rat handseal to send their shadow to the user, once they have them, they don't need to hold it anymore. And, you never know which direction their shadow will be facing or how far it extends based upon the time of day. And, sometimes, shadow's aren't even visible. Plus, if the opponent knows the user is a Nara, they'll be on the lookout of the Kage Mane. Just like a person would try to avoid an Uchiha's Sharingan, or anyone else's special ability. So, I mean, what changes do you want to be made or seen made? You could have also atleast said you want to see from it instead of instantly denying it. I am flexible, and willing to make reasonable changes.

I can understand your frustration with me not providing some sort of direction to go with the revisions. However, my reason for not providing one is because I honestly couldn't think of one that would make this item any more appealing (in terms of fairness).

All of which you stated (time of day, where shadows face) are mostly determinable by the players, which includes you, meaning that you can determine where their shadow is just as much as they can if they don't explicitly say so. You should see where the problem lies therein. Furthermore, for an individual to know you're a Nara (at least one you're going to be in heavy conflict with) would mean they would have to know the character previously or metagaming would be involved. The first more than likely won't happen too often and the latter is generally frowned upon.

Additionally, I see very little in terms of chakra consumption as far as these boots are concerned. Is it High consumption per turn? Is this high consumption unaffected my masteries seeing as how a medium is needed to perform the boots' technique With that being said, unless you can provide me with some convincing revisions, my denial stands.
