The Village Hidden in the Leaves is, and always has been, one of the strongest foundations in the ninja world. Tucked away in the heart of the Land of Fire, the decisions within its borders often affect the entire shinobi world. Known for their powerful clans and their kekkei genkai, there are very few who dare cross this pillar of might.

Once infamous for its murderous trials and tribulations enforced on those seeking to become shinobi, earning it the tittle of the Village Hidden in the Bloody Mist, the Village Hidden in the Mist has waxed and waned between the lines of of being a ruthless dictatorial nation and amicable diplomacy. In spite of all this, the Hidden Mist's military strength is second to none.

While not known for an overly powerful offense, the Hidden Sand is instead known for their impeccable defense. Secluded far in the boundaries of a barren, treacherous desert, there are very few shinobi who can best the natural elements protecting this ninja village. And with their primary element, sand, being in such wide abundance, they by far make the best of the term "home field advantage."

Kusa, or Grass, is a smaller nation sharing its borders with many hot-blooded countries, making it a staple host of battle for many, many years. As a result, its village forces have always been weakened, despite their notoriously powerful and unique wood techniques. The village itself is hidden within green, rich with forests, with some even consisting of oddities such as giant mushrooms or bamboo. As of the most recent Kage Summit, the Hidden Grass has been officially recognized as a "greater nation," thusly able to dub the title Kusakage upon a shinobi.

Iwa, or Stone, is a village as solid as its name. The rocky mountain ranges that surround the village and country provide a natural stronghold and serve as testament to Iwa's defensive prowess. The village itself sits among a mountain range consisting of small narrow waterfalls and sharp rock, with the buildings being composed of the strongest stone, shaped from large, elevated formations of rock into tower-like structures. Many of its buildings sit on cliffs connected by a network of bridges.

A truly hidden village, located in the center of a chain of mountains which prove to be deadly barrier from invaders. The terrain and weather outside the village is a trial to see whomever is the strongest to enter such a hidden village. Due to their limited interaction with the outside world, there is still very little known about these people or their methods. The one thing for certain, however, is that their shinobi are not to be trifled with.

The Rice Fields are marked by forests and, as its name implies, expansive rice fields. Marked by conflict in the past with wars involving neighboring countries, the fighting took a heavy toll on its homegrown residents. The country shares borders Fire and two as unknown countries, thought to be passages to hidden lands.
