Although he was not an old man, Hiroshi was both Bit and Naomi's senior. At least in his late twenties, he had a gaze as cold as ice, and confidence befit a king. As the former met his eyes, he returned the favor of respect in a strict nod and thereafter gestured both of them to come further into the mess. Strangely, he was the only one present within this part of the mansion and those that had watched them so closely from before had all but vanished from existence. In their place, an unnatural silence fell until Naomi stepped forward and beyond Bit. Knowing that he would follow, she in turn walked behind Hiroshi as he led them past the entrance hall and into a corner room.
“You never cease to draw attention, “ he said, unturned. “I take it he is the root behind the whispers around the compound.” This wasn't a question, rather a statement of fact as he leaned up against a wall. Across from were two empty chairs, however he made effort in offering. In truth, he did not expect either one would take him up on that offer anyways. With a hand, he drew a smoke from a pouch at his side, and in the other he flicked a lighter to life. It sparked; once, twice and thrice again until a flame came forth and lit the dud end of his cigarette. He puffed; he sighed as he drew in a deep amount of smoke and exhaled it. The grayish lines that came from his mouth drifted from a slight draft and stuck in his all black hair, that was neatly tied into a pony-tail at the back. Removing the smoke, he held it calmly between to fingers.
“I suppose you think you're clever,” he continued, now all but ignoring Bit's presence and instead focusing his gaze upon Naomi. “Using this shinobi to get around your punishment.” For a moment he hesitated, now he did look at Bit as if he was studying his reaction to what had occurred. “Judging by your expression, she didn't tell you,” he said. “ Naomi, is restricted from partaking missions, unless her presence is requested by another leaf nin. She used you; unless I am wrong, is that not why you brought him here?” He shifted his gaze. “Naomi?”
The younger Hyuuga downcast her gaze, and said nothing in reply. She seemed to be far away, as if she was not even present among the two. This game, what's he playing at... A test perhaps; a test befit a comrade. Frankly, she was surprised that he would go so far, however she also understood why he had to be sure. As a divided clan, their secrets were passed down from one generation to the next. Yet, enemies in the past had been able to retrieve the Byakugan, and use it for their own intentions; and although she could not agree with his methods, she knew that this had to be done. When pressed, a true shinobi would never abandon their comrades. This way, secrets remained safe, and death amongst teams became scarce. “Yes...” she replied. It was a lie.
Did you think I just brought you here for comfort... She had said that; that was the truth. Will he understand... she wondered. If anything, Hiroshi was a fair man, however his methods had always been questioned by the higher-ups. Like she, he wanted an end to hatred, and an end to the separation of their clan. However, because of that, he often worked in strange ways.
