Escapade Into The Black [Event]

Nothing but darkness enveloped the outskirts of Mizu no Kuni, yet - so much was occurring in the night. Deep within the forest, miles away was a bright orange light that could be found within the village; The Village of Hitachi. The orange-reddish light gave a warm feeling, but also gave a frightful feeling as well and if one was gifted with the Byakugan - then one would know the true meaning of this special light. It was pure destruction, nothing less or nothing more. For this was no light, this was nothing but flames - flames which were burning the village to ash in due time.

The poor village was up in flames, causing people to scream and run in terror, whilst their children, loved ones, and pets burned to death. But as the whole village began running about screaming, “SAVE US!!!!” One man stood still, his facade veiled by the ebony cloak that was upon his lithe frame. And to his rear were several others that were adorning the same cloak as him, but one thing stood out; the beast. Its large being hiding behind a building, guarding it with its life - as if something precious was within the building.

“Y'know what to do, go!” The front man commanded, as a single gloved hand shot up in the air - notifying them it was time to go. They all quickly scattered, going in different ways - but one went straight into the forest, looking for one person and one person only, the Mizukage. For they all were going to be in for quite a surprise, a surprise that they wished didn't reveal itself. “Kirigakure shall crumble, the gods shall prove it to be so!”

[/color] The mask figure stated, as he Shunshin through the forestry area; hell was honestly about to break loose.

Back at the Hitachi Village, the leader of the group began to walk off slowly in the opposite direction of the forest. His movements were sluggish, as he swayed back and forth. “Beasts, make sure those hostages inside don't leave. And let the Mizukage know, that she is the true mastermind behind all of this.” He began to laugh as he soon faded within the shadows, waiting patiently for the great heroes to come save the day.

Standing upon the outskirts of the hostage village Hitachi, Masumi's body was masked in jumping black shadows. Her hair was tied into a long, wild pony-tail that crawled along her back, her bang pulled back so it did not obscure her face. She wore black and gray armor with a long sleeve shirt with mesh sewn at them hem. Within the clearing the enigmatic moon glared down, oblique rays shining down on her small squd she had gathered.

"A group of mercenaries of various origins have been terrorizing the province of Hitachi. Word has finally gotten to us and now we act. "

Briefing them on the happenings earlier in the day she'd stop and look over them, her eyes blazing with passion. "Men..." Masumi would say in a clear voice as she allowed her eyes to scan over her troops. They were about to head into the fray, the heart of Hitachi were fires born of discordant evil blazed brightly.

"we are here for but one reason. To destroy the invaders and save the hostages. Let not one die. The bandits, missing ninja, and rogues are free pickings for you. "

Pacing back and forth while she spoke she pondered how best to organize her forces, more than likely she would break the large group up into smaller cells who would work from opposite ends of the villgae, pressing forward until they fully eradicated the threat that loomed within the village.

"There will be three teams who shall penetrate Hiatchi in a triangular shape. From there we shall work our way to the middle eliminating any and all threats."

Quiet enveloped as Masumi stopped pacing, staring down her men with abrasive eyes. she had no time for the weak and those who could not follow orders. Right now they had to rescue this village in need, to not would be to tarnish Kirigakures credibility-a failure such as this was not acceptable for such an elite village.

To believe that there were those who were even so arrogant as to make an attempt was hard to comprehend, but even as our might gathered, it seemed that there were those who sought to make a mockery of who we were, and what it was that we stood for. I almost laughed at the folly. I probably would have if not for the fact that we were on a mission to eliminate them in the dead of the night, and since we were close to their position, I didn't feel like being the idiot who gave away our own. I consorted with Kirino, who had of course come with me. The girl was somewhat thick sometimes, but she was a fighter, and she had grown on me recently, despite her tendency to not understand what I meant sometimes. As the Mizukage finished her speech, I nodded, looking around for another who would join and form a trio with the two of us. Hopefully someone suitable would poke their head up and start filing into the formation sooner, rather than later. If not, I felt confident that with our combined skillset, we could serve well enough on our own. At least against fighters of our level. Who knew what lay inside the smouldering wreckage before us? I sat there with my blade strapped across my back in the darkness of night, the moons light blanketed by the clouds above. This is a good omen I thought, as my clansmen would say on nights like this us members of the Sansutsomu clan where born for greatness, the gods of the storms themselves would watch this battle and I was sure to try and impress.

I looked up to the mizukage who was explaining our orders, she had planned to organize us into smaller squads and attack in an arrow shaped offensive. Her eyes scanning over us as we knelled before her awaiting how she would separate our numbers. Looking around I noticed some familiar faces from the tournament, my fellow hydra members where accounted for except for one, the mysterious man who had disappeared after their meeting in the restaurant a few weeks back.

I awaited to see what what was our next move after the debriefing, according to the mission Intel, this was a mission to eliminate the enemy above all else but there where hostages in the area so I needed to make sure none where to be harmed if all was to go according to plan. This was my first mission with the Mizukage and failure was not an option, I need to show her that I was a valuable asset to the village to help with my career here as a ninja. As the Mizukage finished her briefing she asked us all if we understood, to which I simply nodded and awaited to see how the squads would be split up.

"sorry that i'm late, another mission held me up...how are things here?"

it seemed that perhaps he'd get to know more about this uchiha during the conflict rather than before. either that or he'd have to wait until it was all said and done. nonetheless his focus was beginning to process the upcoming battle.

If these were her best soliders, then why was Kirino here? Perhaps the kage wanted her to get some field experience, or something along those lines. She couldn't be sure herself, but she was armed and ready regardless. With Shin at her side, she felt plenty confident, smiling to herself as the woman before her explained their goal. With the knowledge that there was, as a matter of fact, hostiles about, she would actually be on her guard, rather than naively assuming nothing was a potential threat. For this occasion she had chosen to wear loose grey cargo pants, and had switched out her typical white blouse for a black tank top. In the realm of clothing, she stuck out from those around her, but only in that she looked incredibly plain.

As Masumi ended her speech, she nodded, then two other ninja meeting Masumi's sides, one being... her lover? Kirino gasped, then covering her mouth. Eyes as wide as Ayame's tits, she looked to Shin, nudging him, then pointing towards the couple, speaking in a near whisper.

"What's going on there?"

As she spoke, Goto calmed herself slightly (partially in case the kage noted her pointing), but wasn't all to excited in the first place, hand lowering. It would be to the surprise of no one that this interaction between the Uchiha and her kage would grab her attention from the actual mission at hand.

With everyone gathered, Masumi scanned over them all with keen gleaming eyes. Each face was one she knew and incidentally studied as entailed in her duties as village Kage. There was no more time to waste, no more words needed to be exchnaged, there was but a single thing left. Action. Stepping forward she took a small breath, preparing herself before she spoke.

"Team one will consist of myself and Koukestu"

A hand would beckon her lover towards her; however her face would remain the same, unchanging like that of metal. Feelings asides she was on a mission and her personal life would not affect her ability to perform. That was the unspoken promise she made to the village of Kirigakure when she became and accepted the title of the water shadow. "Team two is Shinryu, Kirino, and Jin. Shinryu is acting squad leader."

Speaking she expected them to move together, she had quickly processed each persons abilities and from there outfitted the best possible combinations. Such was to be expected of her. "Team three will be Fuu, Taiji, and Shuurai. Acting cell leader is Fuu." By now everyone should had already been together, and they'd receive the last of their orders. The rest would be left up to their ability to execute. This would be a test for them, but she was sure they'd fare well.

"Team two will push through the east, Team three will push through west. As for me, I and Kouketsu will push through the north. Now break."

Swinging her arm out, she expected them to make a like a magic act and vanish, moving towards their objectives. "Lets go Kou." Speaking she too would vanish into the black of the night, her direction due north.

Assuming they carried out their orders without a moment's hesitation, this little endeavor by the fools harbored within that province would be brought to a swift end. As if they were sharing the same mind, Masumi dissected the mass of ninjas into groups identical to the setup he'd envisioned. Masumi and Kouketsu were better off working with just each other, as anyone else would've simply gotten in their way. The less they had to worry about, the more effectively they would be able to eliminate their targets. When the others had vanished, Kou was next, merely a step behind Masumi in their journey to the north of the province. They sped through the night like phantoms, barely even an ebony blur against the darkness that had settled in.

Even as the Mizukage mentioned our team formations, I would beckon Jin to join Kirino and I. I appreciated the seriousness of the situation, and took the mantle of team leader with a mixture of pride and apprehension. It would be a challenge, as I knew little of what my team mates were capable of. It was no small duty to lead a team, and I was but a Genin. Still, my inexperience aside, bearing the mantle merely meant that I would have to be all the more dillligent in spite of adversity. And I would be. I had little choice. We were given our bearings and the Mizukage told us to break off. My knees bent, and I was dashing off towards the East of the village, moving as fast as my legs would allow. We would have to be swift, and decisive in how we struck at this problem. After having travelled a decent enough trek away from our initial rendezvous point, I slowed, and motioned for the other two, who would've been following me, to do the same. It was time to make my first decision as team leader. I looked back and would motion to my teammates. "Jin, you take the point. Kirino, you take the right flank. I'll cover the left." It would be a simple change of formation, but one that might prove vital to our mission. This way, Jin would be at the forefront, able to use his taijutsu to give both Kirino and I a window to use our techniques. Meanwhile i would be able to keep an eye out behind us and to check the rooftops, and Kirino could do the same for her side. With that plan in mind, I issued a simple "move out.", and we would be on our way, barring any objections. We would approach the city from the East, as instructed. I kept my eyes open and searching for anything that seemed unusual. There was simply too much at stake in this mission to do anything but my best. It was bad to be late for a mission. It was fucking bad to be late for a big mission such as this one. In fact, it was his first big mission for the village and he was not there in time. And for no good reason at that. He could feel the problem he would be in but he has no choice but to rush to the scene.

Just as the short, simple yet critical briefing ended, he arrived at the scene with a few crows around his dark cloak and the stinky smell of his unbathed body. The group might be breaking up for the mission but they would probably sense his presence due to the strong and disgustingly bad smell. To make sure he was seen so he didn't miss out the mission and went there for absolutely nothing, he spoke. "Shouta Shimizu, reporting in. Sorry for the lateness, Mizukage-sama." Despite that he knew he was in trouble, his face remained emotionless but inside, he was readying himself for the hatred, blaming and scolding of the others, knowing that he was apparently the weakest link of this entire operation and those things were coming his way for sure.

Just A heads up, going out of town today, wont be back until sunday morning in case my post comes up again, if my turn comes up ill have to post from my phone tomorrow.

The young genin assembled to where his teamates where, I had seen these two before on several missions, Tai was even starting to become a good friend of mine so this was perfect. I knew well of their abilities so we should be able to work well together, Fuu was a beast so im sure he will handle anything up close, and Taiji with his fuuton and swordsman ship will take the front lines... so it looks like I should do my best to try and keep up with the hand-to-hand combat. Not knowing well the layout of the land he would have to figure things out on a whim, looking over to taiji he would speak out to him "It might be best to sneak in before we make some noise, the cover of those clouds should keep us hidden from the light" before getting up and moving towards Fuu. Id kneel down before fuu and await to see what his orders where for pushing through the west side of the village, knowing of his style he was probably going to suggest a full frontal attack, but we where outnumbered here and he was my leader for this mission once again, id speak out to the two members and say "So.. whats the plan of attack?"
