Thankfully I had been wary of such disasters! My middle position left me at a slight disadvantage compared to Faust, but my wide range of vision meant I could see the flow of the landslide, as well as its course. There was the possibility that Faust could reach higher ground with the substitution technique but I wouldn't be nearly as lucky, especially with the style of the landslide. So acting fast, I'd withdraw a senbon and coat it with E-rank chakra. This would become my substitue for the technique mentioned earlier. This slide was coming down at a diagonal, yet rose up like a tidal wave. I'd be aiming my senbon along the canyons sides. Specifically my point would not be the highest nor rock bottom, for upon my switch I'd need to be in a suitable position to properly tackle the changed landscape. Thus I aimed for a healthy middle, making sure to not actually hit another weak point, least that side of the canyon collapsed. Based on our experience with climbing thus far, the walls of the canyon seemed fine for doing such, so I'd try to do a soft yet firm chakra touch with my feet rather than letting the senbon pierce the wall. The landslide after it's devestation would leave an unnatural slant downwards into the canyon. It'd also prevent non-shinboi from retracing their steps back to the town.
I'd also need to alert my comrades as the landslide commenced.
"Namitsuki, remained within the clifside and slant yourself at a downwards incline. This should prevent your body from being crushed. Faust, if you can see something five meters from the cliff side, switch with it." this would ensure my partner's thoughts, which he was the one to yell "above", were in tune with my own. I myself needed the utmost timing and calculation, ensuring my odds of success before a boulder of my size would crash into my body and send me to my doom. Once my feet were firmly planted at a safe vantage point, I'd focus on helping Namitsuki navigate through the tsunami of a rock slide. As long as he was listening to my instructions via radio, I'd be able to locate him once the rock slide ceased. My next concern was exactly how the canyon had changed and how weak the walls of this canyon were. Doton jutsu seemed to be out of the question for now, at least until my analysis yielded better results.
"I'm alright now Faust, look to your left." I'd explain to him as I focused chakra into my feet in order to keep my position. How grateful I was to the academy instructors as well as my own jounin sensei, teaching such excellent application of chakra essentially saved my life. I'd also continue to look for any sort of chakra based and even natural trap from here on out. This canyon was already giving me a bad vibe, call it woman's intuition but it didn't seem entirely natural, as if it was either man-made or jutsu modified. This would mean that there'd be no chakra traces for me to see, yet it'd be sensitive to certain things we could do. I'd await our Captain's resposne while attempting to find a safe route to based on the newly formed incline. My position would allow me to utilize it better than Faust, yet still guide him down to it safely this time, should we chose to continue this pursuit.
