Rūgo wondered why this lad wanted to become a craftsman. It was often a difficult question to pose to some people, as many couldn't find quite the right answer. Johann seemed to be able to use the right words however. Rūgo was impressed at the boy's attitude. It seemed he had true reasoning as to why he wished to join the league of craftsmen. It was something Rūgo admired; watching people who had acquired their set goals.
"So you wish to be the one to mend your creations if they were to be damaged in battle. That's perfect reasoning. Many people believe craftsmanship involves an old man sitting in a workshop, hammering away at an anvil all day long," he said in a joking tone. The joke was obvious; Rūgo was that old man that sat away within my dark workshop beating against my anvil all day. With old age came the reclusion indoors. He could see a younger version of himself in Johann - minus the wacky clothing of course.
"You will become a very worthy ally in battle, Johann. That's if you are able to take what you've learned from me." Rūgo grabbed ahold of a water stone from a nearby bench. He then proceeded to shave it against the blade of the dagger, sharpening it and also making it shinier. Their tools of warfare were almost complete. Soon the young craftsman would have made his first creation. It was an important day in the life of any craftsman; something that they would take with them for the rest of their lives.
"The Seven Swords of the Mist..." the old man trailed off. His mind focused on them as he shaved down the blade of his dagger. They were magnificent works of art, something that he could never compete against. After time and time again of trying, he could never create such royalties of the craftsman world. Everything he did would not work. The swords were infused with special powers out of his reach. It had been something that had always left Rūgo unfulfilled in his life. He wanted to be able to construct a legendary sword.
His saddened face suddenly turned into a smile as he attempted to shake his mind off. "Let's hope one day you're able to create such a legendary item," he said with a fake smile. Deep down it had been the reason why Rūgo had not left his workshop in awhile. He was trying to create something that the world had never seen. But, he had been unsuccessful thus far. Age was now getting the better of him as well. There was still hope however. Hope within the next generation of craftsman. He looked into the eyes of Johann. "Take on my legacy."
Rūgo suddenly shook his head again. He dropped the stone and the dagger, quickly getting up from his seat and walking away from the working boy. The day was late and he had had enough of the lessons for today. "Come back nice and fresh tomorrow. We will pick up on what we were doing here, then." The old man disappeared into his quarters, slamming the door behind him as he went inside. It was clearly suggested that it was time for Johann to make his leave.— Bring broken puppet back the next day.
