Staying Out Tonight [Mission][Kenji]

With Muu's impressive attack, they had toppled the man. However, in the process they also brought minor damages to the house, mainly to the glass panels and the crater near the pool created by said attack. But all of the important items were intact, so their mission was technically a success in the long run. Hearing the words of his partner, Kenji would drop down from the tree. As he patted the dirt off of his outfit, he noticed just how damaged it had become. The various pieces of broken glass had made small cuts through many spots on the fabric as well as the top layer of his skin that was beneath it. "I'm over here!" Kenji would say to Muu from within the forest. Walking towards him, he examined the area that had become their battlefield for the night. There were few causalities, but just enough to break the enemy force.

Now only a few feet from Muu, Kenji took the time to look at the now defeated brute. "Looks like you messed him up." Kenji would comment to Muu. He then considered what they should do next. It would be courteous of them to clean up after the mess they had made in the ensuing conflict, but there was little that they could actually fix. Entering the house through the broken glass panel, his feet crunching as he stepped onto the remnants of it, he would say "I suppose we should try and do what we can, eh?" With that he would search for a broom and dust pan within a nearby closet, rummaging through the various items for about a minute or so until he finally came across one.

It would take him about thirty minutes to collect all of the glass that was on the floor. It was really the only thing he could do, for fixing a hole in the ceiling or filling a crater would be next to impossible to do in the short amount of time they had left within the home. Next he would work on clearing the wood and debris that now littered the first story as well as some of the second story. To dispose of it he would simply leave it piled outside, as there was no waste baskets large enough to contain all of the wood and other various building material. He would then look around for a seat, but his chair from earlier had been destroyed in the chaos. Sighing he would say to Muu "Guess all we have to do now is wait." with his eyes becoming more relaxed and tired.

With his ally intact for the most part, Muu gave a smirk, his moment of happiness. While the night wasn’t over, the battle had been won for now. He could only hope the commotion had drawn the attention of other shinobi in the village and for the most part he would be able to rest easy knowing that their battle would spread word to all those who were out looting tonight that this house was well guarded.

Muu would wander about, mildly helping with the tiding up, although it was evident his heart wasn’t in the cleaning. He knew these people had the money to take care of all this. While it was true the house had been damaged from their battle, try to imagine the damage had they not been here. Not only would there be more property damage, maybe, but all their expensive, over priced stuff would be gone, lost forever. In reality this was a small price to pay.

Time would pass, and oddly enough he front door would open, and in would walk the owners of the house. Shocked that their evening plans had fallen short and come to a close early, but to find their estate in such a manner…. Normally would have been quiet devastating. However tonight they were heavily intoxicated. They just couldn’t stop giggling as they told the two young shinobi that they were relived from duty and that despite the glass and their pool being broken, they had done a great job.

Muu assumed they’d have some different words to say in the morning, but for now he’d take it. He’d usher Kenji along and the two of them would leave the couple to their mess… As they walked down the long winding driveway to the gate Muu would muse to his partner.

”So, how was your first mission Aburame? I can promise your others won’t be as much fun…”

The way he ended the last sentence spoke to a deeper knowing. Did Muu know something about Kenji’s future that the young shinobi did not?

Kenji had done the best he could with tidying up the damages they had made. However, as the wealthy couple suddenly entered the home, they seemed heavily intoxicated and didn't care either way. He would sigh with relief, for a moment he worried that they might actually become angered at them, but if they didn't mind, neither did he. Kenji would then look over to Muu who seemed ready to leave, for their objective was complete and it was no doubt time for them to collect their reward. Although, he was now worrying what the Kusakage would say if they were to give her a full report on all that had occurred in the mission, but he just look forward to resting on his bed for a few hours.

Outside, he and Muu would make their way down the driveway of the home. His partner would then ask him how his first mission was and vaguely foreshadowed what was to come. Paying attention only to the question, Kenji would reply "It didn't go as I expected, but it was still fun to kick the crap out of those random guys." The other half of Muu's statement, he assumed, referred to higher ranking missions possibly with or without him. However, he knew that their was a strength in numbers and the two had performed well together, so it was likely for them and maybe a few others to form some sort of team, but first one of them would need to be promoted. Reaching the end of the driveway, Kenji would begin to make his way back to the Kusakage's tower.

Kenji had enjoyed it, the mission was a success, Muu couldn’t ask for much more! The green haired shinobi, the fierce enemy of all broccoli, parted ways with his Aburame companion. The night was warm and lite by the glow of the bright moon, framed by the vast night that surrounded it above. This night would make for fine celebration setting for this completed mission.

Vaugly he considered that soon he’d get to see Miss Kusagakure again to submit the completed mission in person, and the thought cheered him even more. He enjoyed their little meetings, almost like a forbidden romance that only Muu felt and saw. Then his mind switched gears as he saw a cat along the path and took off in frantic haste after it. Ahh, the joys of being young and having a short attention span.

Well, I enjoyed reading this. Nice mission, guys! Be a bit more careful with chakra though, that shit will kill you in a real fight.
