Market District Penthouse.

[Yuki-chan]

"We helped the orphanage in Kami no Shima. And I got you a two-way transceiver-- and a very special scroll, if I remember correctly." answered the male. The female felt shivers run down her spine...he was absolutely right.
A million of thoughts ran around in her head at this time. "Snow pea?" inquired Atlas at the other side of the door.

She took a deep breath before she opened up the door in a rather slow motion. Her eyes looked at the man who stood in front of her. The man had not changed much if anything; he still had the mask that hid half of his face plus the auburn hair.
"Senpai...I thought you were dead! Where have you been all this time!?" exclaimed Yukiko with anger blazing in her crystal blue eyes.

"Have you ANY idea of what you've missed!? First of all, you missed my 20th birthday last month. You've also missed my twin brother's promotion to Chuunin plus that I'm going to move out of my parents house quite soon.
Not to mention that you left without even TELLING me where you went! And don't tell me that 'it's a secret' or 'you're too young to be trusted'...I'm not an 11-year old Genin anymore Atlas!" yelled the young woman.

"Have you any idea of how SICK I am to be left out in the dark like this!? I've been your only student for seven effing years for Kami's sake!
But I understand if those secrets of yours involve manslaught or anything along those lines. Oh, I almost forgot that I met Asa last year after he had escaped some institution. But you probably already know since that was one of the things you weren't supposed to tell me" retorted the Chuunin.

She knew that she probably should not have yelled at him like this. Especially because he probably had not been here for that long. But he had not told her ANYTHING about his whereabouts plus that the female had just been told that he was dead.
To be faced with him like this was not an easy task at all...it was damn hard in fact. He better have a good excuse for this one.

Boy, did she give me a reprimanding to remember.

I'd suffered under many of these rants with Vera in the past, but Yukiko was definitely something fierce. And, I supposed I deserved it. But, despite the fact that what she was saying was probably worth hearing all the way through, all I could think about at that moment was how glad I was to see her again. It showed on my face as an ear-to-ear Cheshire Cat grin. And, at such a close distance, I could now see that she had truly grown since we'd last seen each other. Still hot-tempered, as usual, but... different. My grown-up, fantastic, little sister.

"Have you any idea how--"

I'd interrupt her there, mid-sentence, with an abrupt and unwarranted hug. With my arms wrapped firmly around her, I closed my eyes and warmly smiled. "I've missed you, kiddo. And I'll explain everything-- promise." I muttered, the agonizing pulse in my right eye intensifying. "I'm just... I..." My thoughts flashed back to that day. Mal, Vera, and Chaima huddled over me. Bloodstains on my hands. The pain in my eye, intensifying. Intensifying. Intensifying. I'm growing weary, I'm--

"I'm sorry," I continued.

I didn't break of the hug. I couldn't. Yukiko seemed to be the only thing I could hold on to, and if I let go, what would happen to me? I didn't know. But what I did know was that my head was feeling light. I couldn't process most of my thoughts. Words, and actions. And I blamed it on her eye-- my beloved's-- intensifying. Intensifying. Intensifying. Please, stop. "Yukiko, darling. I need your help." My voice, slurred and lazy. My eye, burning. "... Hospital."

My head suddenly feels like it's being ripped apart.

I release my little sister from my hug, and stagger backwards, teetering on the brink of collapsing. "Aagh!" I cry out in pain, hands buried in my face. A child's laughter, bouncing around my innermost thoughts. It's temporary, Mal had once said. You're living on borrowed time, old friend. Another spike of pain erupts, and I hit the wall to the side. "Hospital!" I plead, crying out with pain. "I can't--"

And with that, I hit the floor unconscious.

[Yuki-chan]

((OOC: HMPH. You interrupted my rant. But I suppose I can give it to you later ))

He suddenly wrapped his arms around her. "I've missed you, kiddo. And I'll explain everything-- promise." muttered the male. A part of her did not wanted a hug; she just wanted to yell at him.
But the female felt really happy to see him again. He had been gone for more than a year after all...he had not seen her grow up.

"Yukiko, darling. I need your help Hospital..." slurred Atlas. Ice blue optics widened in alert as she separated herself from him.
"Aaaagh! Hospital! I can't..." yelled the man before he hit the wall next to him.

His limp body then felt down at the floor. "GARIN! I need some help in here!" yelled Yukiko as she ran over to the now unconscious Jounin.
"Senpai! Can you hear me!?" yelled the female as she lightly shook his shoulders with her arms.

'No reaction...definitely unconscious. Better check if he's breathing' thought the Chuunin as she bent down over his face. She closed her eyes while she concentrated on her sense of hearing.
Her ears caught the sound of him breathing, but it was a little uneven. 'Not lifeless at least' concluded the young woman with a sense of relief.

"What is the matter miss?" inquired the man as he entered the room. "Senpai fainted for just a minute ago. He's unconscious but he's breathing. We better get him to a hospital" told the brunette as she looked at him.
The shinobi nodded before he walked over to her. Both of them lifted the unconscious male off the floor and carried him out of the apartment.

[Exit Yukiko, Garin and Atlas]

The silence that had reigned over the penthouse for the majority of the evening remained, despite our sudden arrival. A soft 'poof' of smoke materialized in the master bedroom, originating from the shiki that was wrapped around the hilt of the katana blade, which was still placed at the edge of the bed. Within the timespan of an instant, Yukiko and I would appear, our surrounding transformed from a dreary hospital room to a modern living decor before we could even blink. Her hand remained grasped with my own, and I smiled at her, hoping the sudden warp hadn't rattled her up too much.

Squeezing her hand reassuringly, I spoke. "Quite a way to travel, right?" I inquired with a smirk, trying to gauge how she felt about the whole thing. I then released her hand, striding towards the nearby closet to prepare a clean set of clothes before I made my departure. "I learned the Hiraishin during the War." I informed her, pulling out a long-sleeved white shirt. "Along with a couple of other things," Namely, my dragon companions. "The amnesia I had been afflicted with caused me to forget I'd ever known it. At least, until a few weeks ago."

I was sure she'd remember what I'd told her earlier, about my false-- or rather, temporary--livelihood in Taki no Kuni. The day Hanasho, the village I'd inhabited, was attacked by the colossi... that was the same day I'd regained all the memories I'd lost. Some of them had been beneficial to my current cause, such as the Hiraishin. But others... others I would have preferred to remain forgotten. Finally having gathered all the clothes I needed, I carried the small pile out of the room, and into the bathroom on the other side of the hallway. 

"I'm going to take a quick shower before leaving." I spoke, poking my head out of the restroom door. "Feel free to pack your snow globe while you're here. And help yourself to anything in the kitchen." Although, I was certain there wasn't much there besides my collection of liquors, and a few bottles of aged root beer. Closing the door behind me, I proceeded to prepare my shower, relieved to finally rid myself of that embarrassing hospital gown. If there was anything I hated about dying of an illness, it was having to endure the fact that your family was seeing you at your absolute worst. I didn't want Yukiko, or Hirihi, ever remembering me as a I looked now.

[Enter]

A small 'poof' was heard as they arrived at their new place. The female looked around and realized that they had arrived to his apartment. "Quite a way to travel, right?" inquired the male with a small smirk at his face.
"Well...that was a new way to get from A to B" muttered Yukiko. She brushed some dust off her trousers after he had let go of her hand.

"I learned the Hiraishin during the War. Along with a couple of other things. The amnesia I had been afflicted with caused me to forget I'd ever known it. At least, until a few weeks ago told Atlas as he pulled up a white long-sleeved shirt.
"I'm going ot take a quick shower before leaving. Feel free to pack your snow globe while you're here. And help yourself to anything in the kitchen" told the young man after he had left the room.

She nodded as she approached the desk where the globe stood. Ice blue eyes studied the miniature of her home village that was inside the glass orb. 'It's looks so...accurate' thought the young woman as she tilted her head a little to the right.
The village had almost the exact same appearance as the pre-war Yukigakure no Sato. There were only a couple minor differences such as the angle of some of the windows or the size of the doors on the houses.

'Whoever made this snow globe must have been INCREDIBLY skilled. Everything is so detailed but yet so correct' thought the Chuunin as she carefully wrapped the globe into some ragged clothing that laid in one of the chests. She laid the globe in the middle of her backpacker between all the clothes.
The glass looked sturdy but the female did NOT wanted to take any chances with something like this. A smile formed at her face when she imagined how her family would react...especially her parents.

The brunette then exited the room before closing the door behind her. She could hear the water running and decided to take a look into the fridge. 'Let's see what we got here' thought the young woman as she opened up the door.
She was met by the sight of a nearly empty fridge. The only items in there was some liquors plus a couple of bottles with aged root beer soda.

"Eurgh" muttered Yukiko while she pulled a face. She closed the door before she sat down in the sofa. 'I wonder where we are going' thought the female as she picked up a magazine that laid there.
It looked like an furniture magazine that was a couple of months old. The magazine made her think...she should probably start looking for a home when she got back from her journey.

-- Minutes Later.

A billowing cloud of steam spilled out from the restroom upon swinging open its door. From it, I emerged, garbed in nothing but a pair of black trousers and a golden-buckled belt. I dried the beads of warm water off my bare chest and cardinal red hair with a small towel. Upon feeling a sharp pain on my side, however, I came to an abrupt stop at the middle of the hallway. My right hand instinctively caressed where I'd felt the pain, my ark green eyes squinting with silent agony. "Crap." I muttered, definitely not wanting to alarm Yukiko.

It had happened during my shower, too-- intermittent bouts of sharp pain, primarily centered around my right eye, but spreading slowly to my muscles and ligaments. The symbiote wasn't holding back. And time clearly wasn't on my side. So, bearing the pain, I hastened my preparation. "Snow?" I spoke, loud enough for my voice to carry into the living room, as I headed into my bedroom for a few things. "You doing alright?" I was, of course, wondering whether she needed anything, or had any inquiries to ask.

As I listened to whatever she had to say, I'd retrieve a few items from my bedroom cabinet. Namely, a small glass container of cologne, and a couple of dissolvable aspirin tablets. Once I popped the aspirin tablets into my mouth, I'd lightly apply the cologne to my body, then return to the restroom to finish getting dressed. After a few more minutes, I'd reemerge-- buttoning up a long-sleeved white shirt, with a black suit jacket slung over my shoulder. I'd enter the living room, my appearance fresh and, seemingly, healthy. Which I was anything but.

But I had a talent for masquerading.

Approaching Yukiko, I'd smile, pulling out a sharp red tie I'd placed in my back pocket prior to exiting the restroom. "Do you mind helping me with this? I was never any good at it." I asked ingloriously, holding it up for her, as my other hand loosened the collar of my dress shirt. I'd wait for her to take it, and hopefully aid me in my little dilemma, before speaking. "Vera used to do this for me-- and then Benkei, my assistant. I never really got around to learning it myself, though."

I wasn't necessarily proud of the fact that I didn't know how to properly put on a tie, especially considering all of my years as an adult. But I reasoned that Yukiko, with her two younger brothers, had at some point learned how to do such a thing herself.

[Yuki-chan]

"Snow? You doing all right?" inquired the male from the bathroom."Yeah, I'm sitting in the living room" replied the female as she opened up the magazine.
Her eyes darted across the pages while her mind tried to focus on the article rather than what was going on. A part of her wanted to know where they were going, especially if it was a new place.

Yukiko looked up and saw Atlas enter the living room wearing a white dress shirt plus a black suit jacket slung over his shoulder. He looked quite well but the young woman knew that he was not near as healthy as he looked like. Her eyebrows raised in surprise when the man pulled out a sharp red tie.
"Do you mind helping me with this? I was never any good at it" admitted the Jounin with a look at his face that said everything.

The Chuunin could not help but to let out a small snort of laughter...she had never met a guy who could not do his own tie! "Very used to do this for me and then Benkei, my assistant. I never really got around to learning it myself though" told the male as he held out his tie.
"Sure. I'll tie it for you" answered the female while she tried as hard as possible to not laugh at the scene.

She went over to him before she laid the tie around his neck. "Let's see if I remember this right" muttered the brunette as she measured the two ends. When they were approximately the same length, she started to tie it.
Her brothers had learned her that when Koji had accidentaly broken two fingers during a mission. Which HAPPENED to be just a week prior to their cousins wedding back in Yukigakure no Sato.

A focused look appeared in her eyes as she tried to maneuver her fingers right. "I think that looks right; tell me what you think" said the young woman after stepping back. The knot she had used was a fairly basic one but it was not half-bad in her eyes.
"Could you please tell me where we're going afterwards? I just need to know if we're stepping into unfamiliar or unfriendly territory" inquired Yukiko with a rather serious expression on her face.

"Hey, now-- Snooow," I spoke with a reprimanding tone, as she proceeded to knot my tie, whilst attempting to hold back her laughter. "Are you teasing me?" I inquired with a surprised smile. I didn't blame her, but it was amusing to see that she took such pleasure in such a thing: a man who couldn't knot his own tie! She should have a bit more sympathy! "I have half a mind to tickle you, missy." I muttered, narrowing my eyes with playful mischievousness, before gauging the look in her own eyes. She wouldn't appreciate that. "But I won't, for your sake." I informed her, issuing a bright smirk. When she finished tying it, I'd follow her advice, and take a look at it myself.

"Not bad!" I remarked, straightening my red tie with a single hand. "Thank you." I smiled, continuing to button up my collar, then buttoning up the wrists of my white dress shirt. After a brief moment, however, she'd inquire after the name of our next desination. And whether she was to expect 'dangerous' or 'unfamiliar' territory. "A little bit of both, I suppose." I answered a tad cryptically, reaching for my black suit jacket, then proceeding to place it on. "But you're going to be safe. And I'll leave a letter in my study, just like you asked." I stopped then, rolling my shoulders as my arms eased into the sleeves, then turning my eyes back to Yukiko.

"I'm going to have to go... arrange something, first." I admitted, buttoning up my suit jacket. "But you'll be with Fusa until then. And I'll be no more than a blink away from you at all times." I looked up to smile at her, despite the seriousness in her eyes, then I'd extend my arms to each side, pivoting into a single brief spin. "How do I look?" I amiably asked, displaying myself in the two-piece suit. Despite the cheer on my countenance, I was still particularly distraught about my personal 'end of days'. But I felt like I'd gotten past the grieving. Perhaps it was the prospect of hope. Or maybe, I just couldn't bear to spend another second with Yukiko in worry. For, the question-- how would she remember me?-- bounced back in forth in my mind.  

Such a thought had forced me to reconsider everything I said, and did, from that point on. I really had to think about what mattered most here, whilst maintaining a logic that just might help me recover from my affliction. And, to be honest, it was far more difficult than I'd thought it'd be. I seemed to have a handle on it for the moment, however. I'd go seek help from a person I had long since desired to see again, and Yukiko would be in Fusa's care, the trusting dragon companion she had yet to meet.

[Yuki-chan]

"I have half a mind to tickle you, missy. But I won't, for your sake." reprimanded the male in a joking manner. He then turned around to see how his tie looked like in the mirror while the female hoped it did not look lopsided.
"Not bad! Thank you" stated Atlas with a satisfied smile at his face.

"You're welcome senpai" replied Yukiko with a tinge of relief in her voice. He then replied to her question about the danger in the place (or country) they were about to head out to.
"A little bit of both I suppose...but you're going to be safe. And I'll leave a letter in my study, just like you asked" assured the adult man. She let out a small sigh in relief when she found out that.

"I'm going to have to...arrange something first. But you'll be with Fusa until then. And I'll be no more than a blink away from you at all times" told the auburn-haired guy with a small grin at his face.
"Good to hear that" said the young woman with a small smile at her face. It was good to hear that she would not be completely alone if something dangerous happened to him.

"How do I look?" asked the guy as he spun around with his suit. "You don't look to bad senpai; it's actually the first time I've seen you in that suit" commented the Chuunin. She tilted her head a little bit...he did not look too bad in clothes like that.
"One question senpai...who is this Fusa person you mentioned? Is it a friend or a shinobi you know in the country we're going to?" inquired the female with a quizzical look at her face.

It was a little odd that he was meeting up with a medic in clothes like that. Granted, he probably wanted to wear somewhat nice clothes so he did not look like a hobo or something when he met her. Especially if this woman was a medical genius who looked like an angel.
'Is it possible that he...nah. I doubt he is in love with that woman or he would have asked for a long time ago' thought the brunette.

Upon hearing her opinion on the way I was dressed, I brightened up. "Fantastic." I smiled, pulling out the wrists of my dress shirt from the sleeves of my jacket. It was true, that she had never before seen me in a suit such as this, and I was actually quite surprised it still fit. Outfits like this, not excluding my own, were from the Pre-War era. And I had a lot of memories with this suit: ballroom dances, festive galas, and more than my fair share of weddings.

For a brief moment, I fondly recollected these memories within my mind's eye, before returning my attention to Yukiko's latest inquiry. I strode over to a coat rack at the corner of the living room as I answered, struggling to contain that whimsical gleam in my eye. "Fusa is a... close friend." I spoke, retrieving a black long coat. "The two of us traveled together for a while, before I came back to Kumogakure." I turned to face her from across the room, as I put the long coat on. 

"You're gonna love her-- trust me."

The cheer across my countenance was evident as I walked towards Yukiko, stopping upon coming face to face with her once more. "So... one last thing before we leave." I spoke, my one-eyed gaze locked on the ocean blue of her eyes. "In order for you to accompany me, you need to meet one condition." I paused then, pulling out a pair of black gloves from the lower right pocket of my coat. As I continued, I'd place said gloves over my hands. 

"I need to mark you. With a shiki."

I spoke, a nonchalant tone crossing over my features and voice. I fitted the last glove around my right hand, its leather squeaking as my fingers adjusted themselves within. "It's a seal." I informed her. "It gives me access to wherever you are, courtesy of the Hiraishin. And, if I'm going to take you anywhere, I need you to have it." I gave her a look, one that clearly showed that this personal requirement was nonnegotiable. "It's permanent, but it won't be too large. So I'm letting you choose where you want it."

[Yuki-chan]

"Fusa is a...close friend. The two of us traveled together for a while, before I came back to Kumogakure" replied the male as he put on a long black coat. "I see" muttered the female as she nodded with a small frown at her face.
"You're gonna love her - trust me" assured Atlas with a small grin at his face. "I hope so too" chuckled Yukiko with a smile at her face.

He then walked towards her with a more serious look at his face. The former Raikage now stood just two feet away from where she was now. "So...one last thing before we leave" started the man.
The young woman blinked while she tried to figure out what the last thing was. Had he forgotten something that she had to pick up for him?

"In order for you to accompany me, you need to meet one condition. I need to mark you. With a shiki" informed the auburned-haired male as he put on a pair of black gloves.
The Chuunin felt her eyes widen in shock. Was this some sort of sick joke or something that could only be saved by some escape from this place!?

"It's a seal - it gives me access to wherever you are, courtesy of hiraishin. And, if I'm going to take you anywhere, I need you to have it" told the male with a 'no-nonsense' look at his face.
"It's permanent but it won't be too large. So I'm letting you choose where you want it" finished Atlas.

'Hm...' thought the female while she tried to decide where on her body she wanted to have the seal. It could not be somewhere that could be easily seen but her chest or bum was out of the question.
'Maybe I should go with the back since I have quite a bit of space there. Or perhaps I should go with my knee because it's usually covered up by socks or shoes' pondered the brunette as she tried to decide. She had made up her mind a couple minutes later.

"You can place the seal on the lower side of my left knee if it is smaller than three inches. If it is bigger than three inches, I would like to have it on the left side of my lower back.
But I'll have the seal removed if you go crazy and chances are big of me being kidnapped or conducted experiments upon. I doubt it'll happen but you never know" informed the young woman with a small grin. She hoped that the seal would not be too big or too ugly since this would be quite a lot like a tattoo.

The expression of shock on her face was (quite frankly) a bit silly, but I trudged on with my explanation regardless. Needless to say, I was happy to see her comply with the request. Although it took her a couple of minutes longer than I expected it to, during which I'd proceeded to the breakfast nook and served myself a glass of scotch, she eventually came back to me with an answer. Leaning on the counter, a smile formed as she spoke, erupting into a chorus of lighthearted chuckling as she spoke of experiments and mad men. 

"C'mon, Snow." I grinned, still chuckling as I wrapped a gloved hand around my glass of scotch. I downed the amber liquid in one swift motion, continuing once the initial sensation was gone. "You've been watching late night horror movies, haven't you?" I jokingly inquired. Pushing myself off the breakfast counter I was leaning on, and leaving the empty glass and bottle of scotch there, I made my way back to the blue-eyed gal. "It's nothing to worry about." I assured her brightly. "I just want to make sure you're safe."

With that said, I'd give her a warm smile, and nod. Twiddling a single index finger in a twirling motion, I'd speak once more. "Now turn around. Your measurements suggest we place the seal on your lower back." Once she did just so, and revealed the bare portion of lower back she wanted me to place the seal on, I'd issue a quick sequence of three (one-handed) seals. "Your parents would probably kill me if they found out about this." I muttered, charging the appropriate hand with the chakra required.

Then, without hesitation, I'd tap that lower left portion of her bare back. On it, I saw the small black shiki sizzle into existence, just a tad bit larger than three inches. Yukiko, of course, wouldn't feel a thing. And it didn't look too bad, either. But I could only imagine what her parents would have to say about it. Snow was a nearly full-grown woman, there was no doubt about that. But in the eyes of her parents, she'd always be their little girl. "There we are." I smiled softly, crossing my arms. "Why don't you take a look at it in the mirror before we leave?"

[Yuki-chan]

"C'mon Snow" chuckled the male as he swallowed a small glass of scotch. 'Easy for you to say' mentally retorted the female while she gave him a small scowl. He just did not understand how serious this was for her.
"It's nothing to worry about. I just want to make sure you're safe" assured Atlas with the familiar bright smile at his face.

Yukiko gave him a flat look but decided to remain silent. "Now turn around. Your measurements suggest we place the seal on your lower back" informed the man.
She nodded before turning around and lifted up her sweater a bit. "Your parents would probably kill me if they found out about this" muttered the former Raikage as he started on the process.

"Don't forget about Hi-kun and Ko-kun" added the young woman with a dry voice. The process did not take long;it took just a minute or two until it had been placed on her body. "There we are...why don't you take a look in the mirror before we leave?" inquired the male.
She approached the mirror and turned around so she could look at the seal. "It does not look to bad really" informed the Chuunin with a small smile at her face.

"I'm ready to leave now senpai. But I'd like you to tell me what country we're in when we arrive our destination. No offense, but if you get any worse I need to know where the medics can find us" told the young woman.
She placed her backpacker on her back after she had put on her jacket again. A part of her was quite excited...where would they go from here?

I admired her smile as she saw the shiki for herself. The seal I'd placed on her meant a great deal to me. It reinforced the idea that, despite not being capable of being there for her all the time, I was definitely as close to protecting her around the clock as I was ever going to be. She was precious to me, after all. And, as I had stated to her in the hospital, I was resolved to never be apart from her for so long again. Arms crossed, and looking rather dashing (if I could say so myself), I realized we were both ready to depart.

"Not too far, actually."

I answered, in response to her question. "Just off the coast. But I'll let Fusa fill you in on the details." Although, considering her need to stretch her wings every so often, Fusa would most likely show her instead. I approached Yukiko, swift footfalls striding towards her position, before coming to an abrupt stop. "I'm going to write my letter right after I send you over. So there's no reason to think anyone is going to blame you for anything concerning my health." I assured her.

Raising a single gloved hand, I affectionately adjusted a stray lock of her brown hair behind her ear. "Stay safe, Snow." I smiled, my warm palm against the side of her face. Then, without warning, she'd blink out of existence. Having sent her to the designated location, then warped back to my penthouse (too fast for any human eye to notice), I'd instantly reappear in my bedroom-- where my shiki remained wrapped around the hilt of a katana. From there, I'd proceed towards my study, swiping up a pen and a sheet of paper upon reaching my desk.

I'd written the letter I had promised to write, saving Yukiko from any blame and imprisonment should anything bad happen to me in the near future. When I finished, I'd stash the missive into the desk drawer, striding off towards my kitchen shortly thereafter-- for another drink, of course. As I lounged about, leaning against the breakfast nook with a glass of scotch in hand, my mind filled itself with thoughts of what was to happen next. After I'd finished the drink, however, I'd leave just the way I had arrived. In a blink.

"Not too far, actually. Just off the coast. But I'll let Fusa fill you in on the details." told the male before he approached her with almost soundless footsteps.
