The mountain is treacherous. You are near the peak in a region riddled with large jutting, jagged rocks and very little vegetation. The ground beneath your feet is mostly stone, often fairly loose in many places, and a thunderstorm looms on the horizon. A gentle rain begins to fall, and may, progressively, strengthen.

The mountain itself stretches high into the clouds above, disappearing far from the range most eyes could see.

Offtopic: This thread has a 48 hour entrance window. After that, this event will be closed to new entrees. The posting order is considered loose and structured on a case by case basis, until after the 48 hours has been completed.

From there, a strict order will be made. Players will then have a 24 hour IIC, with a one-time extension of an additional twenty-four hours.

Players may transition between this thread and the other two as they please; however, this does not mean that exiting automatically allows you to dodge\evade an attack, or eliminate the possibility of you being followed. Keep this in mind should you decide to move to a different location.

Players are allowed to enter the thread with jutsu active, and or prep jutsu as they wish in their introductory posts. However, the minimum starting distance from any combatant in your introduction post is thirty meters.

This thread, and its counterparts, will continue until there is only a single fighter left standing. It should be noted that players with a character already possessing a bijuu are ineligible to join this event.

[Chae]

While the mountain had undoubtedly been treacherous, it hadn't been anything Chae couldn't climb and tame, even with a single arm. A flight of ascending stairs eventually lead up to the mountain's apex where its flat surface, remained high above the cloud; it made sense after all considering the country that surrounded it.

Nevertheless, Chae -dressed in his standard armour (mask and all) - walked from the rear of the mountains top to its middle point where it eventually formed a 'V' shaped tip, gradually narrowing towards the mountain's lip. In length and width, there'd been well over 100 meters of space to work with, leaving Chae standing there at a side view from the mountain lip and the flight of stairs, waiting for any and all opponents to come forth.

With the sleeve of his missing arm tied into a tight know, he rubbed the healed wound, reflecting back upon the day he lost it despite not having felt any sliver of pain until he awakened from his slumber within the emergency room. With his chakra already building, he decided to show no mercy, just like he had done during his previous visit to the land of lightning.

Bones grew weary, and the yard had been drawn out with the systematic coloring of the mountains: white. The vibrant blue that had embodied this cold was now spreading throughout the sky, to create a linear illusion that would envelope everything that the eye could see. Ahead of him, the vision of death came in the form of this thunderous entity. However, death had become synonymous with oblivion- so perhaps that's what he had grown to understand. Covering his armored body with a short black cape, he stood at this peak with the constant thoughts of 'that night' running through his frontal lobe. This beast was the very embodiment of Eiichiro's death. The fact that it had been tamed, and was now loose was a wound that continued to press against Heihachi's heart. If anyone were to conquer this beast, it would be him. If not for the benefit of his village, than for the benefit of his well being. His ankles touched the cold stone jutting out around his feet. The breeze was powerful, but his hooded cape did well to cover his exposed arms, the typical black ANBU tights doing well to insulate his heat. From time to time bright strands of dyed blonde hair would escape his control, and the dull, hollow eyes of his mask would glimmer with every flash of lightning that lashed out violently before him.

The makings of a powerful storm had revealed itself. A light rain pelted against his head, and he knew the bitter chill of the wind all too well. This was his element... and this was his mission. He would be the savior of his village, and the one to claim the title as 'hero.' It was his duty. He had prepared himself for this day, and on his way here, he had ensured that he would be prepared for battle immediately. With his chakra clinging to the pit of his stomach, he was ready for it to spread, and emit itself into the form of one of his more favorite ninjutsu. In the mean time however, he would stand still- hoping that his party could keep up with him.

[Chae]

Funny how much history tended to repeat itself.

Chae -unbeknownst to himself- stood within the light rain before the approaching Raikage, the one that replaced Eiichiro after his death and funeral. Village leader or not, Chae had been here for blood, power, and fame, leaving little room at all for emotions. Roughly 30 meters (open space) away from Chae's position, Chae -from a side view- turned and faced the man properly before moving forward with a frontal, yet halfhearted sprint whilst arming himself with two shuriken, both of which were held between the grooves of his fingers.

By the time he situated himself and started to observe the area at hand, Chae had been well on his way to engage his opponent and would've reduced the distance between them to a meager 15 meters in only a handful of seconds, ready to adjust and take control through any means necessary presuming things proceeded as he intended.

Momentarily, he wondered just how his opponent would've responded.

Time seemed to blur as I climbed this never ending staircase. I was all for rigorous exercise, but this seemed to be torture. My complaints would be inaudible as I finally reached the peak of this mountain. Today I was here for one thing:power. I was told that there was a prize here that could grant a shinobi ultimate strength, there is no way I would pass up on that.

To be honest, I was hoping I could obtain this strength without conflict, but as I noticed the two shinobi who had already peaked the mountain before me, the hope for peace began to dissipate. Although my worries would be slightly lifted as I recognized one of the shinobi, and a personal ally and friend of mine, Chae. I hadn't seen the masked man for quite some time, and there was a sudden chill in knowing that I would have the pleasure of seeing him in combat again.

The other shinobi however, I did not recognize, which means he was expendable. The Yonbi's power was my concern now, but with Chae and the mysterious cloaked man before me, I think I can afford to lose myself in this fight for a minute. The shinobi were at least 35 meters from my position, seeing as how I worked better in the shadows (and Chae would soon dominate the open ground) I quickly realized I was at a disadvantage. I advanced towards the group, rounding to the right around to make myself visible to Chae, yet hide myself from the man before me. My ninjato was drawn, glimmering with vicious intent as a steady rain fell from the sky. It seemed even the heavens were crying today.

Hiro had gone from the kiddy pool to the deep end in one day. What had started out as another week of low D-ranked missions where he would be picking weeds had quickly escalated to a full on rush for the Yonbi. The medic hadn’t exactly been given the mission by the Mizukage himself, but anyone even remotely connected to the shinobi world knew what was going on and Hiro had decided he was going to claim the Yonbi for the Mist. This was the sort of mission that a Mist shinobi would get killed on and Hiro wanted to be there to make sure that didn’t happen. Akira-sama needed all the loyal men and women he could get.

The trek had been a little traitorous, but Hiro had managed to move along the Cliffside at a rather respectable pace. Thankfully Hiro had managed to discover a flight of ascending stairs and his legs propelled him skyward. With his quick pace it didn’t take him long to reach the lip of the stairs and come upon a rather large plateau. Without the stairs partially protecting him the rain came down more steadily soaking through his clothes. Not that far in the distance though he was confronted by two figures.

For a minute he was transfixed by the figures, but off the corner of his eye he noticed another combatant. The person had hidden themselves well, but the man had not been trying to hide his position from anyone coming from the stairs, but rather from one of the two individuals in the center. He could just make out the Mist headband and decided he would follow the man’s lead. This guy seemed to have a target in mind which could mean that the other was an ally. Either way he would see what happened and follow after. Not wanting to give his fellow shinobi’s position away Hiro moved along in the opposite direction maintaining a 35 meter distance that mirrored the other shinobi. Just in case things turned ugly he molded his chakra and prepared himself.

Within an instant, things had escalated. Barely having the opportunity to settle himself in such an abysmal setting, he would already be faced with the task of defending his life. It was to be expected. A worn mask would become visible to him, and as his heart started to race, so did his mind. It was beautiful to see, the figure of a man running against the backdrop that was this massive white ceiling. He was puny compared to the earth, and it made Heihachi feel that much more comfortable. He had arrived here on foot, but in case of an instant repositioning, he had prepared a technique just for that. It would go into place near instantly. As he observed one of his opponents, his body would, without hesitation, sink into the massive mountain landscape, appearing to have become one with the earth that scaled itself so massively compared to the opposing masked figure. The lack of features would make him appear to be some sort of phantom, and he wondered if his enemy would consider him so.

He had come prepared for battle, but having never been one fond of philistine tactics, he would rather play his typical game of cloak and dagger. He had vanished from plain sight within less than a second, making his enemy’s trot appear a bit fruitless. In actuality, he had merely dived into the earth- the solid rock around him making the transition simple. Below the earth he would sink nearly five meters, his chakra coating his body to give him the ability to move beneath the solid stone as though a fish underwater. An absurd technique to say the least, but once there, it was then that he would envision the entirety of his situation. Making his way towards his enemy’s, now known location, after five meters of travel he would realize- he wasn’t alone. Three ninja surrounded him- their allegiance was unknown, and their motives were obvious… three ninja- Heihachi’s thoughts raced to Eiichiro, and his temperament would plateau. These men, regardless of who they were, would all perish. He had mastered this technique quite some time ago, and it had done him well in the past. As his bare arms touched the earth around him, he could feel the presence of his enemies, and any more to come within a rather vast distance. They were smart- sending one shock trooper while the other would be sniper support. It was a formation that was effective for missions like these, where enemy numbers are undisclosed. However, he had been trained to combat it. As his chakra would envision this battlefield, he would continue forward, however avoiding the ground above him. Moving his hand to his back, he would remove one of his many baku tags, his grip onto the tag allowing it to move underground just as flawlessly as he.

Placing one of the tags in the pathway of his oncoming enemy (chad), he would leave it out of his grasp, allowing it to stick within the stone that constructed the mountaintop. His path was slightly less direct, however. Heihachi would rapidly make his way towards one of the two snipers (mifune), his flawless swimming technique closing the distance to a mere ten between them. He was going to mop this up as quickly as he could.

It was his duty. He had prepared himself for this day, and on his way here, he had ensured that he would be prepared for battle immediately. With his chakra clinging to the pit of his stomach, he was ready for it to spread, and emit itself into the form of one of his more favorite ninjutsu. In the mean time however, he would stand still- hoping that his party could keep up with him.

I know you mean well and all, but that there is no grounds for performing a ninjutsu technique. Since one with the earth is a mastery, and you failed to even quote the jutsu in your spoiler, it goes without saying that the technique isn't happening or has happened. Presuming you did either of the underground fish projection variations (in this case most likely the one where you move) it requires seals (albeit very little) meaning those seals have to be strung, i.e you actually mentioning you weaved / strung them, in order for the jutsu to even work.

Since there is no mentioning at all aside from a build up of chakra (as though it didn't require seals), its not going to work, meaning a great deal of your post is 'interrupted' therefore not happening. You don't need Genbu for something so elementary, anyone will tell you this. Normally I would let it slide, but without mentioning and then no quoting, nah.

Too slow. For some inexplicable reason, the man before Chae (Raikage) stood there, perhaps believing something he had in mind would've been set in motion, but ultimately failed. Nevertheless, as he successfully breached that 15 meter threshold as intended, his chakra funneled into both shuriken and consumed them into a film of raiton chakra. As a result, they adopted cutting capabilities on par with the fabled chidori. No more than a second later, Chae's hand flung forward with his senses wide open, sending them zooming across the openness of air, aimed to pepper the man's chest and stomach to effectively rip through his body.

Meanwhile, once the shuriken left Chae's hand, he used pivoted upon his leading foot, turning to a 45^o degree angle where he transitiioned his frontal sprint into a small curve around to the man's righter most flank. During that motion, he noticed the arrival of not only his close friend Mifune, but an additional Kirigakure shinobi as well, one that Chae welcomed to battle with open arms. Presuming everything proceeded as planned, Eiichiro's murderer would've reduced the distance even further within seconds, namely down to 5 meters.

Tier 3 - the Lighting Fang: Taking their mastery of raiton chakra even further, the user begins to understand how to effectively charge external objects. While not a perfect understanding, they are capable of charging a single object in a coat of raiton-based chakra, dramatically increasing its cutting strength (on par with chidori). These objects can leave the user's possession after they've been charged (i.e you can throw them), but lose their charge in the following post. This ability can only be used once every three posts, and requires a single Mid worth of chakra. If the user already knows chidori and all of its sub-techniques, this feat can be performed once every other post with no cost.

With Chae now on the offensive, and a fellow Kiri ninja emerging from my peripheral view, This battle had been won. There was no one else on the battlefield except this man (who remained unmoving,) and my comrades. A sense of pride and confidence ushered from me as I curved inward just out of range of the man's sight, easily covering close to 8 meters.

For now,I would have to close the gap between us, and there was no need to rush. A few hand seals would be formed underneath my gi as i stayed out of the man's sight, hoping that the other kiri-nin would do the same. With the man's attention on Chae, it would be easy to sneak my target within my range of fire.

Hiro stood there preparing himself for just about anything. His primary role in this whole affair was to act as support. He needed to conserve the majority of his chakra in the event anyone allied with his cause was injured and required medical attention. There wasn’t much of a point to a medic if he was too worn out to heal from fighting by the time anyone actually needed healing. However, if he saw his chance he would take it. It was better to end a fight quickly and prevent anyone from getting wounded in the first place than to sit idly by and allow someone to get injured.

What the rather green Genin had not expected was for the one man to simply stand there doing nothing. This was probably his first real life or death situation so there was a good chance something was going on and he just didn’t understand it. However, if the one man was doing anything in reaction to his more aggressive opponent than Hiro could not see it. In fact it seemed like the battle would be over before Hiro would get a real chance to join the fray. Hiro could make out shuriken as they were flung from the masked man’s hands. However, these projectiles were different from anything the medic had seen before. They practically crackled with chakra and although he was unfamiliar with the technique he knew that they were much more lethal than the standard variety.

Watching his Mist counterpart carefully Hiro mimicked the other shinobi. From where he was positioned he could tell that the masked warrior could easily spot Hiro’s ally, but had done nothing about it. Either he was extremely confident or perhaps the masked man was truly on their side. Of course the medic couldn’t write him off just yet, but he would keep that in mind as the fight commenced. Instead of attacking Hiro opted to merely close the distance, taking care to ensure he was still not spotted by the man who had remained motionless. His enhanced speed easily brought him within an 11 meter distance of his enemy and there he prepared himself channeling chakra as his fingers moved in a blur of seals.

Actions begin as soon as possible- as soon as initial jutsu fails.

The situation had grown from bad to worse. Not only was he being approached by an unwarranted, unannounced man, but he would soon be surrounded by his accomplices. He didn’t have to worry about the formalities of battle, which had been taken care of. He would eye the man taking hold of his shuriken from afar, and while his chakra did not act in the way that he had initially desired, he would ensure the mistake wouldn’t occur again. Within an instant, his enemy had closed the distance from roughly thirty meters, to fifteen. Even sooner, after breaching that line of distance, his assault would officially begin. Almost as if reaching a finish line, the masked man’s single arm would fly through the air, the rough metals of familiar ninja weaponry, soon to follow. The shuriken would burst through the air in an array of skill that only expert ninja could access- or understand in Heihachi’s case. However, as these projectiles would intensify their magnificence with the shocking chirp of electricity, they would not intensify in speed. Of course, not that it mattered. Within the instant that Heihachi’s initial attempt to leave had failed, he had begun yet another. Almost instinctively, Heihachi’s body would arch forward into a crouching duck, his legs bending as his body would lower him below the intended path of the shuriken. His body would roll over onto the ground as he would narrowly dodge the steel of his enemy’s weapons. While he did his best to prevent the blades, it would be less than evident that this was far from just an evasive maneuver. Simultaneously, his hands had begun to form a myriad of seals to captivate his onlookers. He had been performing these seals since his early adolescence, and had learned to do them at an unprecedented speed, in almost any instance. It had taken no time for his three seals to be completed, and the rest of his body to take shape beneath the stone which covered this battlefield. He fell like a rock into the stone, almost as if it had been water instead.

They had closed their distance significantly; albeit Heihachi was not one to allow numbers to dictate his success. Cutting through the earth just as effortless as he wanted to initially, his body would almost fall into the weight of the mountaintop. As it stood, there were three combatants to his one, which meant that at any point in time, he would be faced with an enemy in his blind spot. He felt all of them, and he knew that they had come for him, specifically. While they might have been on a similar quest, this was a welcomed detour. The sentiment was not shared. Heihachi had come for the Yonbi, not for the obnoxious meddling of a few ninja. He would have to disperse of them quickly. His body would cut through the stone as if a fish underwater, leaving no indent or evidence of his existence even. His speed was superb beneath this stone, and as they had begun to congregate around him, it would only be appropriate to do the opposite. Moving five meters below them, he would begin to make his way towards one of the two aforementioned snipers. He knew that any revelation of his position would result in him being immediately overwhelmed, so for now, he would have to act accordingly. Reaching into the pouch at his back, he would remove three different baku tags. He wasn’t planning to kill them- he hardly wanted to fight them- but if he wanted this prize, he would have to eliminate them. For now however, he would need to gain some space. Moving fifteen meters towards one of the three (mifune), he would continue past him, constantly watching them through the earth which formed his window.

Too slow, or in this case, too fast. Surely Chae hadn't expected his shuriken to strike his opponent, nay, that'd have been too easy and he'd have been foolish to think that against a trained shinobi, it would've ended that easily. Instead, he planned ahead and anticipated his opponents evasion -despite having not known what it'd be prior. Nevertheless, once his opponents evasion had become evident, Chae had already closed that distance in an instant - but how?

Meanwhile, once the shuriken left Chae's hand, he used pivoted upon his leading foot, turning to a 45^o degree angle where he transitioned his frontal sprint into a small curve around to the man's righter most flank.

Considering that Chae's attention had been focused upon the Raikage, his retaliation (to the duck & roll) came swiftly, abruptly, and without warning. By the time he ducked, rolled, and formed the first seal, Chae's body had been coated and consumed by a film of raiton chakra, the very chakra he used to facilitate Eiichiro's death - Raiton no Yoroi. Presuming that the Raikage had kept his attention locked upon Chae (via one with the earth & visually), he'd have lost sight of reality¹.

As Chae himself moved in on the mans righter most flank within arms reach, an afterimage remained within his (Raikage) frontal field of vision, leaving the real culprit to move as he pleased.

Nevertheless, within arms reach from the Raikage's right side, just as his hands merged together to form a single seal and to eventually transition into the second, Chae's hand -shaped like an arrow's tip- had already lunged forward and down towards his crouched opponent (neck) with a speed (x5) that far exceeded any human or shinobi without Mangekyo Sharingan. Coupled with his afterimage, it'd been safe to say that the Raikage would've been caught off guard and blindsided before he could even process the entirety of what transpired and completing his intended technique. Hit or miss, Chae had been out for blood and refused to stop until he obtained what he wanted.

Raiton no Yoroi (Lightning Release Armor)

[/b]: Namely an offensive armor, this armor is most widely known for the profound boost in speed and reflexive that it grants its user, which is easily comparable to the 5th gate. Being a manifestation of the raiton element, this armor severely hampers any raiton jutsu cast against it (to the point where even the piercing abilities of Chidori and Raikiri are nearly nullified). Beyond this, the Raiton no Yoroi can be concentrated and focused at the hands in order to produce a cutting like effect, easily capable of severing limbs. The piercing power of this specific manifestation of the armor isn't nearly as potent as chidori or its forms; however, it is enough to easily pass through low-quality armor, and as stated, flesh and bone.[/ul]

[/b] applicable upon learning Raiton no Yoroi. While similar, unlike its offensive counterpart (Jigokuzuki), Raiton no Houchou focuses entirely on the speed boost provided by Raiton no Yoroi itself. Simply put, the general concept around the technique is based on using Raiton no yoroi's explosive speeds to shuffle their body in several directions to give off three different type of 'steps'

• Raiton no Bouchou (Lightning step)
  While the concept is still similar to the spark step, the execution and functionality of the Lightning step are completely different. This second or middle stage of step's is considerably the most defensive against taijutsu & non AOE ninjutsu when in motion. Because of the concentration needed to perform this during movement requires a higher consumption in chakra.
  
  Nonetheless, when against an attack that the user can read & see coming towards them, they can merely activate this technique with an extra bit of chakra to boost their speeds a single level above Raiton no Yoroi's normal (x6) for the duration of the movement. In doing so, it leaves an afterimage of the user that, when struck, dissipates into fizzling lightning (see image), leaving the user to maneuver around the opponent (or attack) unseen since the afterimage serves as a 'distraction' for ones eyes.
  
  Additionally, with a stacked cost (x2 high + Raiton no yoroi activation), the user can use only this method as a means of activating Raiton no Yoroi to further surprise and blind side the enemy. When using this as an activation into Raiton no yoroi, the user does not gain x6 speeds but Raiton no Yoroi's base.

Taiga had stood twenty meters away from Chae who was already taken by blood lust and enthralled in the heat of combat. He himself was not fully healed from the sickness he had been stricken with; however, being able to move he could not be by his brothers side. Onlooking there were others who'd accompanied them upon the arduous trek into the lighting country, but unlike them he wasn't attempting to gain input upon the fight.

Watching with keen eyes the pale face boy made no sudden movements, he only watched like a hawk stalking its prey. He had faith. No, absolution in Chae's combative prowess. His abilities were infamous, even among the more trained killers Kirigakure had to offer. In his bed ail, he had heard about Chae's expedition into this very country and eliminated the Raikage. He was proud to call such a warrior and lively man his brother.

The Man named Chae Yoon - Kushinada - the kage killer

Yet after the fight would be over Taiga would be there to aid him, no matter what. Snapped out of his thought by Chae's vivid display of his skill with lighting, the young lads eyes flickered in excitement. It was a rematch of sorts others weren't privy to, yet he was. How would this end he wondered,being sure to learn all he could. Cause he knew the answer already.

Chae's actions blurred in my eyes. The instant the other man had prepared a technique, Chae was already coming down with a prepared blow. With that speed, it was very unlikely he would have lived. (It seems that another Kage has yet again fallen to thanks to Chae.)

My sprint remained unbroken as I rounded and approached the two. I was now only 13 meters from the two, and in a position to deal a critical blow if needed. Hand seals would be formed as I molded my chakra for an attack, just in case this man decided to dodge. I was not sure what to expect, but i knew to expect something. I was more than prepared for whatever may come my way, and my fellow ninja at my side made me feel all the better.
