It was quite a day--first this immensely determined, nearly suicidal man, then a massive, red crocodile (that was perhaps the size of a small building), and now that crocodile was standing on its hind legs. I shook my head, though continued to watch with a bit of disbelief. It was more than obvious that the thing was pissed; outright furious. Whether that was good or bad was yet to be seen--most likely, it would simply thrash around more. Nothing much to be worried about, but a sight to see nonetheless.
It didn't surprise me when he'd ran straight at the crocodile with no hesitation, even if I found it completely idiotic. Somehow, this was how he did things. Tenjouken was offensive, not brash, but if it worked for him I couldn't argue. It was all I could do to keep myself from cringing as he dove through the air, straight toward the crocodile, and just barely avoided a what would have been devastating claw-swipe. Instead, he struck with an incredible amount of force, rocketing the crocodile off of the cliff and down onto the rocks below. Even from afar I knew his hand was broken; my experience told me so. It was obvious once he rose to his feet and it simply dangled there. Then, he collapsed mid sentence, and I was left without words.
"A-ah . . . well," I said, tilting my head and staring down at his completely unconscious frame with disdain. "Well, shit. Now I have to carry you," I scolded, making my way over to him. With very little effort, I hefted his body up over my shoulder and leaped off of the cliff. As I fell, I was reminded of the dead crocodile at the base of the waterfall, and sighed.
Guess I'd have to carry them both.[ e x i t ]
