Her lack of response would push him away, leaving Mina to lie on the ground, waiting to die from the lack of blood. It was a peaceful feeling, the feeling of dying without enough blood. Things got lighter, her body cooled and relaxed. Without the blood to fill her strained muscles, she would be gradually moving closer to death. The chill would rise in her body and her breathing would slow. With the last futile beats of her heart, she would breathe her last. it would take minutes for the brain to die, as lack of oxygen would finish it off. The rest of her body was in a state of death, gradually leading her to the end. Her soul, though, was gone. As dark as the boy may have perceived it, she had her intentions. He'd never truly know them now.
With the last of his combatants finished off, the battered and bruised Bit would be left with only the task of reading the scrolls that had been pulled out of the collapsing cave. As he approached, he would find a scattered stack of scrolls, each appearing to be greatly worn from reading. Upon investigation, Bit would find that the scrolls would contain various bits of nonsense. The bits and pieces he could make out proved to be nothing more than maps of areas he recognized as old maps. These were outdated by many years, likely unusable in the current age.
Going through various others, he would find journals of various accounts of the war, along with information regarding the shaky relations between the villages during the great conflicts of the past. Some were interesting tales of lies and deceit. Others were just in bad taste, leading the boy into believing that most of these were personal accounts that were likely botched. One particular scroll, though, had still been sealed and contained some very vital information by the seal that it contained.
It had been sealed by a wax insignia, holding the aged paper closed for quite some time. It was the last scroll among the bunch, and this appeared to be what he was looking for to get the answers he needed as to what Mina and that man had been up to. Whether that man was his father or not was an irrelevant thing at this point. This scroll had been worth the man to throw away his life protecting her exit. She had even managed to get a far distance away. It was a mystery that would likely be solved with just the one scroll. How trivial a piece of paper can be, ranging from a journal to a doodle, going all the way to match that of a hidden secret. He only hoped it was worth their lives.
