The sheer size of the fireball that would come flying at the assailant who had let loose the stream of fire from his lips would be overpowered within seconds, the explosion from it colliding with his chest sending him flying and hitting the wall. As the first fireball had been shot at his partner, the man with the sword would have a moment to react much faster than his partner. Using a high speed movement to move to his side (1/3) to avoid the attack. With the sidestep of about 7 meters, easily trackable with the opponent's sharingan, the man would raise his blade, the katana swung with a mighty force at the boy.

The boy's hasty retreat would save him as the very air would be sliced, a puff of dust from the rocks he had been standing near showing that the slice had found a home in the stone. Turning his eyes to look for the boy, the man stepped forward, in an attempt to find the boy. Because of the boy's ability to conjure up such a wide minefield, spanning for a staggering 25 meter radius that the man would not be able to predict. With a loud explosion surrounding the boy, each of the mines would go up, filling the air with the fire as it would also work its way into the mine itself, sending a plume of fire up the mineshaft entrance and killing the man who had been injured at the front of the mineshaft.

If there was any hope of sneaking in before, it was long gone now as the explosion had rattled deep inside of the mine. Should there be more of them down there, young Bit would have a lot more to deal with than just them. Slowly, the smoke would clear and reveal the charred ground, the minefield having done a real number on the ground around him. Even if he wanted to, now he would not be able to escape from this without seeing it through. The men inside of the mineshaft, should there be any at all, would surely track him down for revenge.

The better question came to mind, though. Why would his father keep such company if he was truly here? If he had been truly wandering, as the woman had said, there would be no need for an armed protective group such as this. There was definitely something here that wasn't exactly adding up, but the mine would hold his answers. Should he choose to continue, that is.

Hirihi walked quietly along beside him, taking in the sight of the edge of the park. The sound of their shoes along the cobblestone would alter to slight crunching noises on a path of dirt, her crimson eyes staring forward towards their destination. Elysium Park, a place she knew so fondly. It was here, if she remembered right, that she had taken many of her students to enjoy the weather between training sessions. She was a strict trainer, and had pushed them hard enough to earn such a break on her watch. As they moved closer, her mind continued to run through thoughts that had been sparked by Atlas.

Why did he have to ask her such a thing and start this train of thought? The next thing she knew, she was going to start thinking of the kind of things that would cause her loyalty to Kumogakure to sway. Things like a personal life, things she had gone a good portion of her life without. When she felt a tug at her hand, leading her to stop, Hirihi turned to look at Atlas with a bit of concern. Was something the matter?

When she was pulled towards him, she felt more lost than she had when she had forced learned how to use her chakra to heal people. Their proximity had never been this close, with little distance between them and their height truly realized in difference. Looking up at him, crimson pools of innocence seeking an answer in his face, she found her answer as she felt his lips to hers. By instinct, she sunk into the emotional expression, her arm wrapping around his back and her eyes closing. What felt like hours would pass, her body seeming to mesh with his as she pressed against him, the moment holding her captive.

When the elated feelings in her chest settled, the parting of their lips making her fall rapidly from her momentary high. She was speechless, her eyes saying everything that she felt as she looked up at him, turning and looking to his chest to prevent the blush from being so apparent. Letting her arm fall from his back, she stepped back and kept her eyes low to the ground, unsure of what to say. She had enjoyed it, more than she could have ever imagined, but she knew nothing about this. She didn't know what to say, how to feel, where to go from here. Damn her lack of social activity...

Hirihi watched him with a curiosity seen both in her eyes and on her face. She wanted to know more about what they were going to be doing, or, really her. This was something she had always figured was a moment she would spend hours replaying in her head before falling asleep late in the early morning. The moment she had chosen a definitive side on the debate of whether transplanting another person's organs into another was even ethical. Here she was, though, agreeing to it without even a second thought. She had never really been against it, not even for the sake of debate. Many proclaimed that it could be misused if in the wrong hands, so she argued in the defense of only letting the most skilled used the technique, or even witness it.

When he urged them along with a tilt of his head, Hirihi smiled and held the scroll out to him as they walked. "I will have plenty of time to review it. I'd prefer that you hold onto it, as the trust was placed in you to keep it safe. With that said, I'd like you to be present, if that is okay, to witness me learning the technique. While I feel comfortable learning it, I don't exactly feel safe guarding the scroll and performing at the same time." She said, hoping he would understand. She did not like the idea of losing one of the sacred scrolls to the thieves of the village. While she knew few thieves, she knew of many who would abuse such a power if given the chance.

As they continued their walk, Hirihi glad that the conversation was moving to lighter topics, Hirihi couldn't help but blush as he stated, ever so plainly, his question towards if she had met someone special or not. H-How was she to answer such a question to him?! Shaking her head, she merely smiled up at him and spoke plainly. "With the amount of work I do, and the amount of training I volunteer for my younger medical staff, I... honestly, have found no one. Even if I had, I would only see them as students. Seeing them that way, I would feel odd pursuing such a thing. I'm not sure if you feel the same way, but being a teacher to someone puts you in an authority role. One can't be special to them in that way when they are already a big part of their learning." She said.

This made her wonder, though, how her father might view her life. She was a hard worker, that was no doubt, but she had no balance for her personal life, compared to her career as a ninja. She did so well in one, while the other suffered. "I've... honestly not even given the thought of searching for such a person until I retired. The sad thing is, I can't even see retirement with how deeply entwined with the village I am now. To say that I have found no one that sparks me that way, though, would definitely be a lie." She said, looking away from him as she blushed. Even seven years ago, there had been something about Atlas that made her feel that something was different between them. To move on such a thing, though, without knowledge of his own feelings was horrible, though.

Amazing in the hospital, a great teacher, and socially retarded to the point that she is unable to express her own feelings. This was the great Hirihi.

The trip would go rather quietly, with little interruption as he traveled through the vast plains and hills of Kaminari. The country, itself, was known for the mountains in the scenery. Little did most foreigners realize was that the country had lush hills scattered about in sparse amounts. as he would approach the mineshaft, the vacant hole in the wall bearing a large sign that was unreadable. The wood had long rotted, leaving with it a feeling of decay in its very presence. One could assume that the mineshaft should have collapsed from lack of use, but it still stood, plain as day. It was very well evident that non-chakra methods had been employed to create the mine, as well, as the walls were chipped away with what appeared to be stone and iron tools.

as young Bit would draw near to the mineshaft, the flashing hope of finally seeing some story behind his father's whereabouts, maybe the chance to see his father again, his slow approach would grant him a much quieter entrance. Upon nearing the front of the entrance, a shout would be heard as a man came out of the mineshaft, forming handseals and making a circle around his lips and beginning to blow a stream of fire directly at him. The man had black hair, dark skin, and brown eyes that showed no sign of holding back should the boy attempt to counter the attack launched at him.

At that very same moment, a man who had been posted up near the entrance, hidden among some of the rubble as he had obviously been napping, would rise up and rub the sleep out of his eyes. "What're we doing? These drills are-- Holy fuck, this isn't a drill." He said, immediately drawing a sword from his waist and lunging for the boy. One Katon user and one swordsmen. With only this information to go on, young Bit would have to devise a way to survive the assault, while also advancing forward towards the truth. Would he let himself come this far, only to be bested, or would he triumph and move ever closer to the truth of his father?

With the burst of lava passing by her, leaving her skin feeling strangely chilled moreso by the return of coo air, Hirihi slipped out of the small hole she had made in the cavern and gave it a light tap with her fingertips as she left the safe cubbyhole. The after smell from the lava that had been shot at her was more than overwhelming. She found herself having difficulty breathing, as the air was entirely too rancid with the odor of sulfur lingering in the air. Coughing a few times, Hirihi was thankful that the stench was slowly dissipating, leaving behind the earthy smell of the cavern that she had nearly forgotten. Approaching the end of the tunnel, moving slowly, she would see the arena before her with the various amenities that would be found in a home.

From the looks of things, Hirihi had found someone who had not been holed up here for a short time, but what appeared to be a long stay. How they had survived here as they had was something of a mystery to her. Then, there was the thought that this had to be the person who shot the lava at her. If this were true, the second one that had come at her had shown that he did not have the strength to do so again. Faking her out was unlikely, as he would have use the opportunity to get her in the confined space of the tunnel to end her. Not wait until she was out in the open where she could attack in retaliation.

The sound of the older man's voice was alarming to her, making her uneasy as she approached. Was he a refugee, or was he a criminal? Either way, her job was here to help those in need. If he HAD been the one to fire upon her, he would need to pay for what he had done. There was no good reason to attack a shinobi from Kumogakure. She was not trespassing, and even if she was, no one would get away with attacking her with such a deadly attack. A warning shot would have definitely sufficed for this purpose. Approaching the edge of his small camp, Hirihi cleared her throat and kept her crimson eyes on him.

"Sir, I mean no harm to you. I'm merely here looking for refugees from the harsh winter weather." She said, showing her intentions as plain as she could to the man. She didn't really want to see another lava blast coming her way, that was for certain. "As far as being a Kumogakure shinobi, that I am. You already know that, though, from how you speak of us." She said, lowering her brow a bit in thought. How to approach the subject of his identity without getting a bath in lava, should he have been the one to do the earlier assault. "Are you in need of aid, sir?" She asked, trying to keep a close eye on his hands, in case he may very well point-blank fire anything at her.

Hirihi could only blush at his words. "Consider it a date. Date. Date." He hadn't said it three times, obviously, but her mind had held onto that word with a firm grasp and refused to let it go. This was beginning to make her feel a bit... odd. Not in a way that made her feel uncomfortable, as one would be with a person that they had nothing in common with. This was a feeling of... fluttering. This led to a blush spreading across her face that was only slight red. She didn't know why it did this to her, but the thought of being on a date with someone as attractive and intelligent as Atlas was something she would more than welcome.

This was when she realized that, in the entirety of her adult life, she had never once had serious feelings about anyone. Part of it may have been the training regime that she had been on. The other part, though, she had to take the blame for. She was so focused on her career as a shinobi, her duties to the village, that she had developed very little of a personal life. She rarely stayed in her home for more than 8 hours, always keeping herself busy with things to do. The hospital was great for that, keeping her occupied for days at a time. It was easy, simple, to do. Now that she had the chance to think about it, was the life she had chosen worth it?

Forcing herself not to think about it, as he had likely not meant it in the way that she was thinking, she focused on him as he began to get more serious. This was her signal that they were going to begin discussing the mission. Instead of going into a formal briefing on the mission, though, he produced a scroll and asked for her to think of him as he was at that moment, regardless of whatever the details of the mission may produce. This was an odd request for her, as she had never known anything about him to make her doubt him as a person. Was this mission a sensitive part of his past, something that he was hiding from the rest of the village, using the Raikage to transfer the mission and make it an official thing as a favor?

She would never know, but she knew that there was nothing that could change the image of what Atlas was to her. Whether that was as a friend, or more, she was resolute in her mind that she was not going to see or feel different about him. If anything, knowing more about him might very well make her closer to him. A butchered past had its way of making a person grow on the other, being someone to help mend the scars of the past and make the person whole again, whether they be a friend or lover in the end. "I promise, no matter what this scroll tells me, that I will view you the same as I did years ago, when I first met you in the street to the teacher I saw standing before his class. You have my word." She said, giving him a reassuring smile to show that, no matter what she saw, she'd stand beside him no matter what the circumstance.
