Domain: Ju Kenshin. Zanbatou Mochi of equal rank.
0|19 (Partner bonus)He had been side-by-side with Coco the entire trip there, even stood next to her along the cliff before the surprise attack was even launched, but somehow they had been separated from eachother within mere minutes the moment conflict started, which didn't sound like much at first, but when you considered it was their teamwork that got them through the tough fights, it was at least a little alarming - I mean, it wasn't as if Kain trusted anybody else here! It all happened so fast that it was still mostly a blur, the adrenaline and chaos of the situation preventing him from understanding entirely what went on. They had been prepared well beforehand, but when they actually made the leap into the enemy forces, everything just moved far too fast to focus on. Ninja dropped dead all over, projectiles and explosions forcing Kain's body to react before his mind even had a chance to catch up, preventing him from realizing the attacks were putting continual distance between him and his partner. It didn't take long to realize that although the element of surprise was theirs, they were noticeably outnumbered.. well, he supposed him and Coco were just going to have to handle more than their share."Tch! Coco!"
He screamed out, not knowing where she had gone either, explosions ringing preventing either of their voices from reaching eachother, dust, dirt and smoke preventing them from spotting one another out (as if they had time to look around right now anyways!). He figured it was worth a try, but when enemy shinobi were closing in on him he had no time, he could take care of himself, and he would search for her when he got the opportunity. His arms swung to his back, both hands gripping the handle of the large cleaver strapped down his right side, a loud WHOOSH slicing across the air as the sword was brought to his front. Brows furrowed, crimson eyes staring ahead with undeterred focus, a young Kain out to prove himself. He was barely a man, small patches of facial hair across his face, his hair also longer than usual, hanging down to his ears in messy locks, his body also being thinner and less muscular back then. Headband was tied securely over his forehead, worn not only for the partial protection it gave, but because he needed to be able to be identified as an ally as quickly as possible! He had found himself cornered by three enemy ninja, two brandishing kunai with the third wielding a sword.
He was at a disadvantage both in number and in positioning, so he knew he needed to make the first move and strike quickly, he couldn't allow himself to be backed up any further. Kain lifted his arms, muscles flexing to lift the large cleaver due to still being quite new to the sheer weight of the weapon, and angled the blunt end to rest across his right shoulder. It was risky to get too close and engage all three at once, the cleaver was incredibly powerful, but its weight left holes in his defense and left it more suitable to 1v1 combat, so it was clear he needed to thin the herd as best he could! He could only think of one method to do so; he would need to catch them off guard from a distance, creating an opening and allowing him to close the distance with an advantage! How did he plan on doing this? Well, throwing the damn thing at them, of course. A cloud of dirt shot up into the air, Kain shooting his left leg abruptly forward, boot dragging across the ground as his shoulders dropped, arms flying forwards. With an entire twist of his body, he swung the cleaver towards the ninja with all of his strength, throwing his entire frame forward in an attempt to put as much torque on it as possible, and once it reached the optimal angle he would simply release his grip; the massive piece of metal sent flying ahead, tip pointed directly at one of the kunai-wielding ninja. It wasn't everyday you ran into a shinobi that used such a clumsy weapon, but it was even more unlikely to ever have one THROWN at you, and it was this obscure attack that would score Kain his first kill of the day.
The cleaver closed the small distance with enough speed to catch the man off guard, he was too close to properly evade, and the Kunai couldn't HOPE to block or deflect it, and thus the result was the cleaver driving straight into his torso, the sword shooting halfway through his chest before it stopped and the shinobi dropped to the ground, lifeless and spraying blood from the gaping wound. This sight was not only enough to inspire fear to the man's comrades, but it was enough to throw Kain over the edge, a maniacal grin worn as his face as the hunt began. The young Kagehebi stepped forwards, the men quickly moving backwards in return, only watching as he inhumanly stretched his libs, tugging the cleaver from the corpse and returning it to him as if he'd never thrown it at all. The blood-soaked blade was once more brought to rest on his shoulder, the red liquid spilling down his shirt all the while."Next!"
For the time-being, he wasn't even thinking of where Coco had ended up, he had only wanted to chop down as many enemies as he could. He wasn't quite accustomed to this new style of fighting he'd adapted, but it was clear he was entirely competent as he moved forward, effortlessly throwing the blade once more and lodging it inside the stomach of the second kunai-wielding shinobi, although this time he stretched his arm to follow the blade, yanking it out within mere moments of it striking. He was clearly dealing with amateurs, but there was no mercy allowed on the battlefield, it was his duty to kill them all (the fact he was enjoying it all was just a bonus, he supposed). War was a hell of a thing, young men and women killing other young men and women that they had never known, regarding eachother as enemies simply because of the banner they held. Kain was smart enough to know this was all wrong, but it was the first time in his life he felt he served some sort of purpose, and regardless of how bad it made him seem, he didn't want this to end.
Everlasting war.. that sure was an interesting concept.
