Character Creation - No Release

I still haven't settled on a particular Elemental release for my character, and all of my initial 1k exp have gone towards clan/universal/academy jutsu. Is it possible to leave the release part blank for now, and decide later on without having to pay 250 exp and buying it?

If it is your starting element, yes you can do that, without paying the 250 EXP later.
