Finally! After spending so much time in this awful lightning place, we were leaving. Perhaps if i had arrived here under other circumstances, i wouldn't find the land so repulsive. But then again, being kidnapped, imprisoned and almost killed by a rampaging bijuu tends to leave a bad impression. I stretched my slender arms above my head, refreshed and relaxed, the only thing spoiling my mood were the ever present clouds, hiding the sun.
"It's just us then darling. Time for a spot of shopping, i think!" I said with a lipsticked grin. I knew, for once, Kain would not refuse, as he had been planning to purchase a few items for himself.

I had already decided on heading back to earth's capital for our little spree, simply avoiding our own hidden village wasn't too difficult. And so, with a rather lighter step, we began the journey back to our homeland, the desolate, drab, but rather endearing land of earth. Of course, i wasn't leaving completely empty handed. In my rather abundant spare time, i had slipped off to the lightning capital, picking up a few mac essentials, and a gorgeous little armani number. The dress i wore was long, draping the ground even elevated as i was in my usual preposterous heels. A lovely shade of black, accented only by a few gleaming red roses on my chest. What an ensemble!

As we walked, i couldn't help think of the shinobi we had encountered during that perilous battle with the great ox, bull, octopus thing. One of them was a friend of Kain's, wasn't he? I was under the impression he would be accompanying us for a time, but i suppose everyone's awfully busy these days. Not that i wasn't more than happy alone with my sweetheart. After all, that was how it had always been. Perhaps we really were freaks, but we always had each other.
"Back on the road then? You know, you're still welcome to carry me some of the way..."

And we were off. I could see the boutiques already~!

Never a dull moment, not when he and Coco had anything to do with it at least. It seemed as if things picked up exactly how Kain wanted them to, because no sooner did he decide he was bored with Iwa did he get thrown right into the mix of things! From being blind-sided while on a patrol, to being held prisoner and striking a deal with the Raikage himself, meeting up with old contacts and then taking on a tailed beast? Yeah, you could say it was eventful. Little did Kain know that getting sidetracked to Kumo would end up being the best thing for him, because it ignited a spark in him that had been simmering down for some time, the realization of how much farther he had to go was a bit of an eye-opener, but so long as he had Coco to keep him stable he knew he could achieve whatever they set their minds to.

"Can you not call it shopping?"

His tone suggested annoyance, but merely because when he thought of 'shopping' his brain only pulled up images of Coco and her handbags, and all the awful clothing and make-up that came with it! He had decided not long after getting fixed up that he needed to be better prepared, he couldn't count on people to save him next time, and to Kain this meant that he first needed to start with the equipment he used. He wasn't exactly wealthy, but he had enough funds to get some decent armour, which seemed like the perfect place to start since he wasn't exactly lacking in the offensive department! Although the more thought he put into it, the more he realized he'd have to put up with Coco ragging on his style even more than she already did - as if she'd approve of an armoured vest and cloak?!

"You're stupid, let's go."

He reached an arm up, pulling on the sides of his head and cracked his neck, then the casual stride hastened a bit, slowly progressing from a lazy walk to long, fast strides, quickly putting him ahead of Coco if she didn't pick up the pace. Kain was never really one to be too set on getting back home, but as they both knew Iwa shinobi were sold wares at a discount, and it wouldn't hurt to see what was going on after such a large chain of events - but in the end, they both knew they probably weren't going to stick around for very long, not that Kain even wanted to being as pumped as he was... who knows, maybe they could finally follow up on what that mist ninja was up to? Kain still had his head back home and everything! The though alone put a smirk on his face, how long had it been since he'd gotten a chance to kill anything? He had so many new abilities to put to the test!

"This is taking too long, I wanna have some fun already!"

Quick walk turned into a jog, and then jog turned into a sprint as the impatient young man dashed ahead, legs pumping powerfully as he ran up the road. He knew his way home from this point, and Coco did too, all they really had to do was follow the road up to the docks, and then it was a single boat-ride home, easy enough. It wouldn't be long before they'd get there, at which point the duo would jump on the first ship and be on their way home - in a way, it felt kind've nice to be heading back, but considering recent events he had to think, where did their allegiance lay at this point?

♥; i've still got sand in my shoes, and i can't shake the thought of you

I rather enjoyed boat rides, although, the salty wind did tend to play havoc with one's hair. Perched neatly on the side of the boat, i smiled absent mindedly as i felt the spray tickling my legs through my new dress. So, back to earth for our oh-so-wonderful discount, and then elsewhere after we'd picked up our items? In all honesty, Kain's plans were mostly a mystery to me. I couldn't help wonder if he in fact had a plan, or was simply eager to kit himself out with some more heavy duty apparel. I still had my goals. I still had my aspirations and desires... I only hoped they still registered with him. His mind really was difficult. He wasn't convoluted or particularly deep, but his intensity and passion were sometimes hard to place.

"You know how i adore shopping sweetie, but what's the plan? I doubt all you had in mind was new clothes, right? Although i would applaud your new found interest in fashion." Turning my head to him, perched precariously as i was, i frowned slightly through my thick, coated lashes. Sighing quietly, i turned my gaze back over water, our homeland now easily visible on the horizon. We'd arrive shortly. Carelessly, i ran a hand through my hair, tossing it behind me as i watched us near land. I could wait. For Kain, i didn't mind waiting. My maid was carefully organised, expertly laid out, like a boutique designed exclusively to cater to the top clients. In the back, an understated mannequin had been dressed in a simple, shaped dress, the word 'war' printed haphazardly across the bodice. It wore glittering bangles of conspiracy, and its shoes were bold statements of power. I was composed, confident, happy to keep dressing that mannequin everyday, until finally somebody purchased the outfit showcased.

And it would be purchased. I could sell anything, no matter how long i had to wait for the right buyer to come along, no matter how hard i had to drive it.
"Darling, where exactly are we headed after you've purchased this season's battle wear?" I asked vaguely, sliding gracefully back into the boat as we pulled into port. Examining my pristine nails, i turned and walked down the ramp, my feet as steady as ever in my heels, resting now firmly back in the land of earth. We were home.
