Destruction: Crashing the Chuunin Exams! [1]

Streets that were once filled with the laughter and chatter of their natives were now set ablaze. Blood ran freely from many of the ninjas that had already fallen, and even more so from the innocents caught in the crossfire.

Bakudon Gai had very hastily become an urban battlefield; it was the perfect stage to announce the ending of all things.

There will be a 48 hour IIC set in place for these threads. Interacting with the invading Kirigakure forces (NPCS) is at your discretion as the player. Feel free to kill 'em or whatever. Important events shall be NPC'd by myself.

Kouketsu's arrival had been preceded by a medley of destruction, ranging from your average explosion to the ravaging of the most potent and fearsome jutsu. There was a chorus of war that slowly built up as each second passed; there was the clank and cry of steel against steel as blades collided; there was the sound of armor splintering and cracking beneath the pressure of a superior weapon; there were the cries of the abandoned; the groans of the injured; and finally, the sigh of many men and women escaping from their lips on the winds of their dying breath.

Still, his demeanor was unwavering. Cold, calculating Sharingan eyes cut through the swath of chaos, easily identifying any of the ninja that might've posed an immediate threat from his position upon a building. Perched at the lip of the structure's highest point, several scores of meters above the disheveled city streets, none could find a better vantage point unless they wanted to stand on the volcano itself.

The legions of Kirigakure at his back, pouring into the village like an uncontrollable wave, left those that wished to confront the tyrant only one option: a head-on assault.

Kouketsu intended to welcome any and all opposition with open arms, solely to underline the already established fact that he would crush anyone that stood in his way. His hands were already stained with the blood of hundreds, and he had no intention on slowing down now; he was far too close to success; far too close to saving this world from the brink of destruction to let up. He'd lost so much in this conquest, but to him, it was without a doubt worth it in the end.

Blinking away whatever hesitation or regret that might've been lingering in his mind, a light push from either foot sent him diving into the growing cloud of smoke. Vanishing, as if he'd simply been erased by the will of some divine being, those same feet would settle upon the tortured earth merely seconds later.

Truly, that boy had the devil in his eyes.

Description: Over time spent with intense magma exposure and control, the skin of the user becomes resilient to weapons to a certain degree. With this prolonged exposure to the heat, their skin becomes rough and rugged, like that of leather, but to a much more durable degree. As such weapon attacks from bladed weapons such as kunai and swords become less effective against the clan member.

Shit sure was getting quite chaotic, and to be quite honest, I wasn't entirely sure how I felt about it all. No sooner was this generation emerging from a great war did we seemingly find ourselves starting another one, the leader of my village taking it upon himself to try and secure Kiri's position on top of the world, and here I was, following orders. Despite not even being a man yet at the young age of 16, I was fairly talented when it came to fighting, so it came as no surprise to me when I was called into combat, following behind the Kage himself as we invaded the city, explosions and destruction acting as our horns, announcing our arrival,

"Tch! He doesn't waste any time!"

Soldiers of my village were literally flooding the streets, rushing into the heart of the city, striking down all enemy shinobi along their way, skirmishes soon breaking out all over the capital. The element of surprise sure was on our side, and it was quite apparent with the way our forces seemed to surround and enter the city with ease thus far, but one had to consider all the shinobi around with the Chunnin Exams having been in progress, perhaps there would be some difficulty after all? I wasn't entirely sure of what I was to be doing, but I assumed control of this city was the goal my Kage had in mind, and I would act to work towards that goal - I wasn't big on causing widespread havoc and destruction with so many innocent people around, so I would instead focus on dealing with individual threats as they came!

"Oh! Somebody makes their entrance!"

I flipped my coin high up into the air before catching it and shoving it into my pocket, the smell metal object hot enough at this point to burn flesh, normal flesh anyways! Sandals clacked against the pavement loudly as I walked my way over towards the stranger (Katsu), my demeanour not threatening, nor were my intentions.

"Oi oi oi!"

I stopped, no less than 10 meter between me and the man,

"You're not gonna be able to talk him out of this! Whattya say you just surrender?"

It seemed as good an idea as any.

Though there were countless shinobi that littering the streets at that point in time, only one had stood out against the others. His words, at such a great distance from the Kouketsu, were barely audible; nothing short of a whisper. However, his armor and headband (or lack thereof) marked him as an enemy. The fact that one of his own, a Kiri-nin, had already confronted the mysterious newcomer only solidified it. Kouketsu saw no reason to get his own hands dirty, though.

His forces had been prepared night and day for this very moment. They were all capable shinobi, more so than the half-wits that had festered in the other great nations. Beyond the element of surprise, they were simply outfitted for war.

So instead, Kouketsu took back to the skies. Situated on the ruins of a much smaller building than before, gloved digits wrapped around the hilt of a kunai he'd never used. With a mere adjustment of thought, a negligible burst of chakra illuminated the kanji inscribed upon either of its sides. It was merely a brief flash; however, the effects of that it would carry would be far more detrimental to the defending shinobi of Bakudon Gai.

Dropping the blade to his right, he waited.

Unmistakable. The signal, that very slight trace of chakra upon one of my seals, belonged to none other than my closest kin. Even though I was more than country lengths apart, the slight inclination of my presence being required was easily distinguished. Just from that, I knew exactly where and when I was needed; from there, it took nothing but a slight mental thought to bring me there instantly.

Quite simply, I appeared out of nothing - the slight veil of wind that hung with my body due to the near instantaneous travel the only indication of my sudden appearance. I did not look at who summoned me among the masses of destruction, but instead listened and watched it ensue without saying a word. Everything was in shambles, the buildings that still stood only remained on their foundations and death lingered in the air - it was breath taking.

Regardless, I remained apathetic in the wake of all the damage. Despite my summoning occurring at the spur of the moment, I remained clad in armor of the highest prestige. My porcelain mask remained bolstered at my hip, allowing me to gaze fully and unhindered in a vision further enhanced through the use of my fully evolved Sharingan. It allowed me to see everything that was happening with utmost clarity, and also identify the strongest among the surviving shinobi.

"Should I be surprised that you did the opposite of what I said?" A slight inclination of my head allowed me to view Kouketsu. He, very much like myself, was calm and emotionless - it was almost like we did this everyday. "You really outdid yourself this time."

Situated high in the sky and watching all the chaos ensue, we almost resembled gods.

Havoc at it's peak. Flames roared over the conflagration of random buildings, most likely not involved in the conflict at all. The sounds of lives departing bodies, blood spilling the earth, of both bystanders and enemies. Hiro hadn't encountered such a sight since his tangle in that cursed war. The man watched in awe, jaw dropped, muttering, "...So beautiful."

It would be against his person for him to not join in the bloodshed. He had no awareness of the situation, nor how the conflict originated. His desire to pillage increased though, and he eagerly dashed into the midst of battle. He was a distance away observing, yet it would change quickly.

In preparation, he drew a kunai with his right hand, a retractable wrist blade fastened beneath the sleeve of his left arm. Broadsword attached by his back, and shotel sheathed at his right side, his diverse weaponry was visibly present for any man who encountered him.

His decision became where to join the party. Every direction a few people were attacking each other, it was like a child looming through Christmas presents. One scene grabbed his attention merely for it's aloofness. ”You will accomplish nothing! Cease this fighting!” A lone man bellowed. Hiro turned his attention to this man, a surprisingly close five meters away, finding his cries somewhat humorous. The man appeared close to his age, despite his yells, dressed in a battle like outfit. "Would we really accomplish anything by stopping?!" Hiro joyously said in rebuttal. "A man of your age has to have witnessed things like this before. Yet you search for some bullshit like what? Peace?" He had a small laugh following this. His arms were outstretched to show he was referring to the war before them. "There is no hope! Just enjoy the fun of chaos!"

Hiro felt like he dragged on for too long. He was denying himself the fun he boasted. Around the same time he spoke another person entered. A boy, though Hiro knew better than to class someone based on age. He didn't say anything to him, he was more than sure that the young one heard him as well. This newcomer had about 12 meters of distance from him. What he was more curious to see was what would be the first reaction.

When he came to a halt, the effects of the previous night of intoxication began to have their sudden effect. Touketsu lunged forward, breath heavy, a puddle of vomit gushing forth, splashing onto the grounds, the stench a mixture of partially digested food and alcohol. The man’s breath was shortened further as yet another mass of the vile liquid showered forth, partially splattering onto his shoes. Hells, this was the most wretched time to feel the effects of a hangover; adrenaline was of little use to submit that damned nausea. It was not death that he feared, but humility, complete and utter humility.

To worsen matters, diarrhea was on the verge of spraying forth from his buttocks to moisten his trousers with a deep, majestic brown.

With a raised chin, his crimson eyes shifted upwards, drawing in the scene of chaos. Touketsu’s head ached viciously and his throat longed for liquid, both to combat dehydration and to wash out the miserable flavor of vomit. With gritted teeth he met gazes with the man who made the offer (Sachi), and a fury poured into his senses, an anger he had rarely felt before. That man was of the same blood as he, both Airontoku. ”We, the magma-blooded slaves, have been embraced shackles for long. [/i] Touketsu grumbled, fingers of the left hand lightly tracing over his lower back, the location of the seal of the empaths. ”And our history is filled with war. Do you truly want to perpetuate that? You know better.”[/i] Finally Touketsu mustered the focus to stand fully straightened.

A newcomer had surprised Touketsu with his bold declaration, a man with a fascination for battle. Shifting his gaze from the other Airontoku, Touketsu turned, brow furrowed. ”And you enjoy trotting into a battle at its height, savoring the blood of the weak?” His speech was interrupted by a belch, vomit reaching the tongue before he swallowed it. Damned be the taste. Now, truly, Touketsu’s alcoholism had gotten the better of him. ”You are no more than a curmudgeon. “ Touketsu understood, none of these men could be persuaded. The time for words had come to an end, it seemed.

He reached forth into his pouch and pulled forth a kunai. In this state he could not fight effectively, but none of that mattered, for he had a duty to defend these men. Touketsu knew that it was utterly foolish to stand sturdily when he was at his weakest, but the innocent were at hazard, and he had seen enough death. Touketsu himself was guilty of having slain civilians, those with no desire to fight. Perhaps this would allow for his redemption. If there was such a thing, that is.Fortune favors the bold. he muttered under his breath, nausea and the aching head at their heights. Mayhap the Gods would have mercy, but Touketsu never held strong belief. He was alone.

”There are many here who do not deserve the death you bring.”[/color] he bellowed. ”I will stand and fight.”[/i]

"Technically, we aren't in Iwagakure." Kouketsu's response, though playfully sarcastic, was dry. "Besides, I'm not a patient man. You know this, Nagato."

With a tug of his wrist, the wire attached to the hilt of the significant kunai retracted, sliding the blade back into his palm. A moment later the blade vanished, tucked back into the utility pouch it'd come from.

Despite the chaos, none had yet to challenge them. The pair of Uchiha stood idle upon a mound of crumbled buildings, which as it's been stated, elevated clear above the lower buildings. Even though swords were swung inches away from them, clashing against enemy steel, Kouketsu didn't so much as flinch. He did, however, lend his ear to the nonsense some wouldbe hero decided to recite. Following that, he offered a sliver of his attention to the newcomer - a man supporting neither nation.

"Then you shall die," he replied to Katsumaru, over the crowd before him. Though a hefty portion of distance separated the armored warrior from the two Uchiha, he would've heard his booming voice clearly.

"As for you, outsider, I suggest you leave this place." Gloved fingers curled into fists, cracking several times, before unfurling. "Unless you wish to swear your blade to my service?"

The harbinger of chaos had finally made herself known, her presence on the battlefield was quickly recognized and the many that opposed her, soon cowered before her as they fell to the ground, wallowing in the life elixir that spilled from their mortal coil. Hozuki Masumi had returned from her long period of illness, now better then ever the Nidaime was more than ready. Her once long auburn hair, had been cut short, falling just above her shoulders, curling at the tips with her bang still covering her right eye.

She was fit for the rage of war, instead of her usual attire she dawned the basic kirigakure grey flack jacket armor, with a long sleeved black shirt cuffed just past her elbows, underneath laid meshing for extra protection. Black shorts, tightly formed around the shape of her thighs, exposing her flawless skin, beneath the red hot sun. The day was young and the war was but still an infant. The field of death was truly intoxicating, the hypnotic hymns let loose from the crying souls invigorated her very core. A sensation that wrapped callous hands around her body.

She felt a sense of excitement, unlike her last war, she knew deep down, she'd enjoy herself this go around. Her skin crawled as she slew any person that crossed her path, until finally amongst the burning buildings and accumulating ash her jade gem spotted Kouketsu and Nagato standing upon fallen debris. With swift steps she approached from the rear, her blood soaked body merely decor for her surroundings as she was carried to their position. With a lithe jump Masumi stood next to Kouketsu, surveying what laid before her, catching the lasts bits of his speech she turned her head towards him and simply smirked.

"Seems I could make it afterall..."

She truly had the devils visage, her hands twitching to feed craving she desired. Blast City would burn and become nothing more then a monument to perhaps the greatest instigation of war ever unleashed.

The carnage sewn through every fiber of the city reminded me too much of my own home, and those who lay strewn about looked too much like my own kin. And though it was evident that a majority of them no longer possessed the noticeable glint that made their lives salvageable I had no reservations of simply stepping over them like they were trash. Each unattended carcass I approached would find themselves suddenly embedded in the soil they laid upon, where blood stains and the like seemed to vanish without a trace.1. Eventually I saw myself deeper into the district where it became evident that there were survivors, four specifically, conversing with one another nonchalantly, which was very unbecoming given the chaotic atmosphere. They could have only been the perpatraitors. Given my distance from them, what they spoke of was mostly illegible but I could decipher from the tones of their voices that there was a disagreement between them. And that's when I saw him.... the Uchiha. I immediately took haste to hide myself by ducking in an alley betwen two buildings, but it troubled me immensely knowing Kouketsu may have seen me. He was thorough and so I remained staunchly observant of my surroundings while I formulated my next maneuver. "Kouketsu, what have you done," I somberly muttered. Things were sure picking up rather quickly, and I wasn't entirely certain of what to do with all this excitement. On one hand, it was fun, but on the other, war and taking over cities just wasn't my style - in fact, I pursued almost entirely selfish goals my entire life, not paying attention to much else... but here I was, being ordered to take over the capital along with my fellow Mist shinobi, and I was listening so far. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't going to be easy as I hoped it to be, no sooner did the assault begin was there already shit for me to deal with, the most obvious right now being another Airontoku, and some annoying twat that kept talking. One obviously was going to stand for peace, whereas the other seemed to love the destruction... but it seemed he was only for just that, the destruction. He wasn't picking sides, or even contemplating the purpose behind these attacks, he only wanted to cause chaos, which screamed trouble - I mean, he was a loose cannon with no apparent allegiance, he was only going to get in the way, so I figured it would be best to deal with them both,

"Oi oi oi!"

I stepped closer and closer, my strides closing the distance between us so long as he would allow it, and should he take no action the distance would be cut to 3 meters, at which point my arms crossed, hands tucked into the insides of my elbows. I didn't have time to waste, and to be perfectly honest, they really didn't seem all the interesting, and thus I wanted to end this quickly, hopefully with as little as bloodshed as possible. I was never big on killing people, and like I said, as far as I knew we were just trying to take over the city, it was in my nature to keep casualties down to a minimum so long as I could do something about it!

"I really don't have time to waste here!"

My right arm removed itself from my chest, half-extending outwards as my hand balled into a fist, a warmth trailing along with my movements. Crimson eyes locked onto the Airontoku, who I identified as the biggest threat right now, but I was sure to keep a close eye on the other one as well,

"Now either you two surrender. . . or you get hurt standing in my way."

The decision was theirs.

"Yes, I do." I meagerly replied, the stench of death taking me aback. "Unfortunately.""

There were battles raging all around us, but I payed no mind to anybody in particular until Kouketsu's spoke. It was only then, with very little enthusiasm, did my eyes hover over the forms of three men. Out of sheer curiosity my gaze fixated on them one at a time; their dispositions of the violence were interesting, nothing else.

The first of the trio my eyes caught onto was what appeared to be a Konoha shinobi, his obvious stand to oppose the fighting brave and worthy of the foolish will of fire people from his village went by. The second, as big of a fool as the first, was all for the chaos that hung to this area despite having no apparent affiliation - clearly he hadn't witnessed war before. The third, perhaps the only sole redeemer to such a fail ensemble, seemed to at least know what he was doing through his clandestine means of going about things. Very interesting.

Still, where was the real opposition? Naturally, word of the destruction of the Chunnin Exams and Bakudon Gai itself should have reached the present Tsuchikage by now, yet where was he? His very own shinobi were fighting for their life and the land itself,whilst he was nowhere to be found - pathetic. "Nice of you to arrive, Masumi." I turned to look around suddenly, still crouched over the edge of the building.

"You look... different." I mused, not a drop of my attention on her changed appearance. Instead, majority of it was focused on her body itself; her chakra system, though as potent as ever, almost seemed like it was branching off. "You sure you're up to fight?"

Hiro found himself mused with the situation. Here he was with two others, all contrasting majorly on views on this battle it appeared; a perfect prelude to battle. The man garnished in some odd dynastic clothing turned into an interesting one, quick to hurl after throwing a couple of words. Either his disapproval of war caused this, or he had a wild binge the previous night.

After maintaining himself momentarily, he called out Hiro's ethics. The man humbly replied, "Why yes, I do." Soon after he was referred to as a 'curmudgeon,' an insult he would react to heinously if he understood what it meant.

Meanwhile, it appeared this spectacle became eye candy for a man in the distance, one whose speech suggested he was one of power. Wherever he was located, the non-ninja could figure he was facing him, by general location of sound. He even spared a warning to Hiro, which pleased him. Yet simple allegiance wasn't enough for him. There always has to be a catch, "'Pends how much it pays!" He bellowed in response to the distant leader. "But I'll kill this guy for you!" He screamed enthusiastically, throwing his kunai at the man[Katsumaru] as his hand was motioning for a kunai. If he didn't dodge, the projectile would have a bad encounter with the enemy's rib cage.

Unless interrupted, he would immediately follow up by drawing his Shotel with the same hand that threw the kunai. His vision was wary of the two people before him, and awaiting a response from this man who called him out.
