Appearance:
Shirayuri is a young girl of average stature and slim build. She doesn't have a lot of muscle tone to speak of but she is fairly nimble. While she doesn't have much to speak of in the womanly features department but for what she lacks in bust and build she more than makes up for in facial beauty. The kunoichi wears her hair long and spends quite a bit of time adding just the right products to keep her hair spiky but smooth. Shirayuri's dark hair extends down to her hips but contours to the side and a bit over her head, she will sometimes utilize scrunchies, buns, or a bandannas to keep it from getting in her way. Shirayuri is an expert in the application of make-up. The young girl has a routine of applying just the right amount of foundation followed by an exotic blend of mascara and powders that accentuate her naturally yellow eyes. She almost always wears eyeliner liberally applied with a dash of glitter on the right side for variety. Last but not least she prefers dark colored lipsticks to brighter shades. She has her left ear pierced in several different places all of which usually contain a simple silver or gold earrings. The result is a quite gothic look to compliment her outfits.
Apparel:
Shirayuri enjoys the feeling of mesh on her small frame. Its simple, spooky, and doesn't get in the way as much as other gothic arrangements. When out and about on official ninja business she will wear a mesh shirt, a corset, black leather mini-skirt, thigh high socks, and ninja scandals. If it is a particularly uneventful day she is more likely to wear a flowing gothic style dress with complimenting frills and perhaps a trench coat or umbrella. Her apparel can generally assumed to be always dark, broody, gothic and occasionally provocative. She has multiple piercings on left ear, a lip piercing, and gothic make up.
Blemishes or Scars: None

Fight ThemePersonality:
While Shirayuri doesn't always show it, she is deeply religious and utterly committed to the faith of Mappou Shinkoukasumi (lit. Latter Day Rising Mist). The girl is unusually quiet for a young woman of her age and while she does enjoy the company of others, she does not talk idly. She often practices a form of mental meditation that leaves a blank almost bored expression on her face when out and about with others. Some take this as condescension, shyness, or annoyance when in reality its the result of spiritual atunement to the world. Shirayuri's attitude to the world and others reflect a perfect blend of mysticism and rationality. She believes there is a solution to every problem, a cure for every illness, a role for every individual, and a place for all the world's children. Shirayuri sees her job as to aid in the discovery of these things and many others. Because she sees herself as one who guides those through the Mist of the world that we all live in she is fairly helpful to those in her immediacy. While she would love to be a steward of the world she recognizes that the inherent violence of the shinobi world mandates her ability to defend herself and her home. At her heart she is a contemplative, kind, and caring person. She wishes to nurture the souls of others and bring people the peace of mind that she has enjoyed since joining the Rising Mist Movement. She is soft spoken and matter of factly, often cutting to the point in a gentle yet firm manner. Slow to anger and rich in generosity to those who can most benefit from it. While her overall personality and thoughts are positive and upbeat, Shirayuri enjoys gothic aesthetics and has an eye for artistic endeavors.
Allegiance:
The Church: Shirayuri's loyalties first and foremost lie with the Church of the Rising Mist. That is to say, she is a daughter and instrument of God as well as the people who are in communion with the Lord's teachings. Shirayuri's top priority is the ascension of humanity and its redemption as a species. She will work to defend her Church and serve its people, she will hope to win over converts at every opportunity. Shirayuri is not unfamiliar with the idea of sacrifice and duty having read the Book of Hagoromo. Shirayuri will never betray the ideals of the Church even when faced with death and she works tirelessly to not only ensure its safety but continual growth.
Kirigakure: Shirayuri beleives that Kirigakure and the Land of Mist in general were divinely chosen to be the birthplace for the faith restored. The truth of this world can best be seen through its natural geography and for her it is merely a question of how best to spread its influence. Shirayuri is deeply invested in the growth and maintenance of the village as a site for spiritual renewal. She is eternally loyal to her nation as a patriot, soldier, and woman of God. Shirayuri won't betray it for any amount of money in the world and she sees its role in working with the Church as paramount for the salvation of souls. While one could say that Kirigakure does not command her absolute allegiance, one would be correct in stating that it would find a strong sense of loyalty and dedication in the kunoichi's heart. This extends to the people who reside in it, including its civilians, shinobi, and even guests.
Family: Last but certainly not least Shirayuri loves her kin with all her heart and soul. She has four siblings: one older brother, one older sister, two younger sisters, and a baby brother. Each one of them is dear and precious to her heart and she will never let any of them go. Shirayuri is dead set on protecting them and converting them to the Truth. While her family had been fragmented during times of strife, with her new position in the village she is more than capable of bringing the group back together. Blood is the third highest point of allegiance for Shirayuri as she beleives family is a key pillar when it comes to faith. For the family that prays together, stays together.
Alignment: Lawful Good
Quirks and Tendencies:
Sexuality: Shirayuri defines herself as an asexual, that is not to say she does not occasionally pass judgement on a person's looks it is to say however that physical attraction to her is not something she has ever experienced. Shirayuri is not obligated to be chaste but as a Shepard for her Church she believes that sex can complicate things and so although her natural inclination for love does not exist, if it ever arose she would work hard to snuff it out. Shirayuri's relationships are usually friendly, professional, or filial and any attempt to win her affection in any romantic way will net one a raised eyebrow.
Hobbies: Shirayuri enjoys praying, drawing, or auditing. Her duties with the Church keep her fairly busy in addition to her responsibilities to the village. In what little spare time she has she paints or designs new gothic clothes. Shirayuri is adept at sewing and knitting allowing her to craft beautiful clothes for her own personal usage. When not recreationally drawing she can be found praying with members of the Church or auditing their mind to eliminate trauma. Shirayuri also enjoys reading mystery doujinshis.
Likes and Dislikes:
Likes: Shirayuri likes gothic features, clothing, and styles. She has an intense appreciation for all things grunge, abnormal, and seemingly creepy. Shirayuri loves her Church, its teachings, and her role as someone to bring guidance to a world deeply in need. She has an interest in the mind and enjoys reading about psychology and therapy. While Shirayuri shuns brutality and violence she gets a bit of thrill in defeating opponents in battle although she would never admit it. Taking care of others is another hobby of hers and so she can be found involved in various service projects around the village. She loves the art of caring for flowers in a variety of ways be it gardening or more advanced botany. As a kunoichi she spends a great deal of her time training and working with others in combat. Although she wouldn't care to admit it the thrill of a good fight is something that simultaneously excites and terrifies her. She is a strategic thinker and while a good game of Go can temporarily sate her desire for a worthy opponent doing battle with ninjutsu and genjutsu is something she views as just as important to the soul. Shirayuri is also a top tier Auditor meaning she is qualified to both deduce and assist in treating mental ailments, this form of therapy gives her quite a bit of joy.
Dislikes: Shirayuri despises intolerance of her faith as well as any attempts to belittle her for believing. As a ninja she is obligated to fight for her village but she is still somewhat ashamed of Kirigakure's past as the bloody mist and will spurn any attempt to get her to act violently without due cause. She detests those who maliciously hurt others for trivial gains. Those who refuse counsel and help when they need it most is another thing that provokes Shirayuri to anger. She also hates it when people insult her sense of style be it by nature of her clothing or make-up. Shirayuri also dislikes insincerity or dishonesty as she views it to be one of the main reasons for conflict between others. By extension, lying and stealing are detestable to her.
Motivations: The ascension of humanity to the next level of reality. She is motivated by an intense desire to aid, counsel, audit, and fortify the minds of the world so that the cruelties of this world become a thing of the past. She is motivated by a dream that one day, humanity will cease to wander and kill but instead guide each other to new plateaus of peace and prosperity.
Fears: Shirayuri deeply fears the mental stagnation and degradation of the mind's of men. The very idea of a global decay of morality, spirituality, and mental acuity can cause her heart to race. Shirayuri cares for both her homeland and her immediate family and cannot bear to lose any of them. Being one of the eldest it has always been her responsibility to look after them and guide them. Shirayuri is concerned for their well being at all times and will do almost anything to secure their safety. However her greatest fears are the loss of her faith and the destruction of the Church that she has joined.
History:
Shirayuri was born within the Terumi Household. Her life growing up wasn't hard or bad but lacking in deeper meaning. She studied, trained, and attended to the needs of her siblings. Shirayuri was the eldest daughter and the third eldest child overall meaning she had quite a lot of responsibilities even at a young age. The kunoichi spent a great deal of time studying the art of Genjutsu and its constituent element of Yin Release. Her studies of the mind and illusion brought her to the doorstep of the new religious movement coming out of the isles of Kirigakure. She had vaguely heard of the group as they had been preaching across the country for some time and had recently begun ministering to shinobi living in Kirigakure.
The faith was a combination of esoteric Yin-based psycho therapy and the Cult of the Mist. The Church aggressively sent its missionaries across the world, a pair of which had contacted Shirayuri. Her household frowned on her affiliation with the group but tolerated their presence given their relatively non-threatening nature. The Church opened up her eyes to a whole new way of seeing the world and at the tender age of 10 she was inducted into the Auditor Priesthood giving her a position of power and significance within the burgeoning faith. With their aid, she was able to master Ninjutsu and Genjutsu as she now had something in this world worth fighting for.
The kunoichi graduated from the Academy and served both her village, family, and the Church. Known for her quiet, tense, yet loving ethos, she was affectionately known as "Neko" as many took her attitude for that of a simple alley cat. Shirayuri was content with her status as a genin for many years and refused to participate in Exams or any missions that might bring unjust harm to others but as time went on her Clan demanded that she represent it well as a full fledged shinobi and that meant progression. The Church was also heavily invested in seeing how far she could go as a ninja doubtless her talent and knowledge of its ways could only help the faith spread.
She decided to fully commit to both the lifestyle of the shinobi and the Auditor Priesthood. Shirayuri mastered Genjutsu under the tutelage of the Church Elders before acing the Chuunin Exams. As her prowess grew so did her power in the Church. The High Bishop of Kirigakure (known as the High Shepard) anointed her his successor and introduced her to the Priesthood of the Guide. He groomed her for not only that position but for war as well. Shirayuri was aware that the village was hostile to this new faith and that eventually she would have to make a choice. At 18 she became a Jounin and was renown as one of the most talented Genjutsu practioners in all of Kirigakure. She excelled at Ninjutsu and also learned the mysteries behind Boil Release becoming a fearsome shinobi of the elements as well. While her name came up often in village meetings for even greater promotions, the village Old Guard struck her down due to her affiliation with the Church. As the Church's influence spread the more conservative elements of the village grew paranoid and announced a crackdown on the religion within the village. This sparked a wave of protests and civil unrest that led to several mini-rebellions by the faith's more militant supporters. While the Church openly begged for peace they aided the violent backlash against suppression. Shirayuri and several key ninja that were secretly members of the Church campaigned to bring her to power when words did not suffice the old government was killed and a new soft theocracy was formed. The Church was given a seat of power with Shirayuri as its main representative while holding position of Mizukage.
