Description: Everything has its purpose - even crime. After lengthy deliberation, the Kazekage has decided to unofficially support a local gang leader, Shishio, in establishing control over Old Suna. While the details of their arrangement are unknown, the mission's premise is quite clear: eliminate a rival aspiring gang leader, Hanzou, and any followers he may have that will no convert.
Rewards: 75 EXP and 5,000 RYO.

It seemed only fair to repay him, the dear man who had given me this freedom. Though I was leader of a village - no, mustn't think like that darling - though I was used to giving the orders, I was not above serving, especially when I felt I owed a debt. Still, it surprised me how efficient this all was. I had been approved for the mission without a hitch, my jounin status retained even here, and I had even been given command over two genin for this particular endeavour. It would be... nice, to work with others.

It would be difficult, though. Unlike a true Sunagakure native, I knew nothing of the village's geography, nor its politics. Perhaps I would be relying on my two comrades as much as they on me? But, I scarcely even knew where Old Suna was! I supposed it was simply the older part of the village? Oh dear, what had I gotten myself into? Still, play the part darling! Confidence is key!

The objective was murder, and though undeniably familiar with such a task, I was not particularly comfortable. Sunagakure's affairs were not my own, who was I to kill for them? But no, it was the Kazekage I was doing this for. After all he'd done for me... I shook my head.

"I do hope you're not growing soft," I murmured to myself, awaiting my companions arrivals.

"Sensei." The voice of the genin would present a melange of calm and clear authority.

Despite being incomparable to one of his partners of this task, the woman who stood before him, Ushinawa was not without his constant air of command. Denoting her with an honorific that most genin would associate with someone of a hire rank, he would announce himself both in presence and rank. He had never seen the likes of her before, but then again, the same could have been said for him. It was evident, from the details listed in his mission scroll, that this task would be one not easily completed without absolute teamwork. Unsure of what skills he brought to the table, the Kazekage was no doubt evident of at least his history. Killing was something that Ushinawa had grown comfortable with during his upbringing. The diplomacy of the mission was something that he understood, but could care less about at this age.

With subtle steps that placed one foot before the next, Ushinawa's strut would resemble that of a runway model. While being no where near as tall as the women dominating the profession, he would regardless move in a way that allowed the lankiness of his limbs to flow perfectly as an instrument to allow him to glide closer towards the woman before him. With a short cape fluttering slightly within the surprising speed of his walk, he would appear before her startlingly quickly.

"My name is Matsumoto Ushinawa, but you can call me Matsumoto." With a slight bow, his hair would dip to the frame of his face, his eyes glancing up to catch her own as he would slowly raise himself back to a comfortable posture. "I apologize for my tardiness; I believe my associate will be joining us shortly."

daichi would be seen in the distance within a couple moments after matsumoto would arrive. he was sporting no shirt this time around. his last shirt had been destroyed in an unexpected fight the night before. " i assume you're our partner for this mission of course. " he would look her up and down.

" hi. my name's daichi. it's written with the kanji for great and the kanji for land. " his tone was noticeably worse for wear. daichi gave up that useless information just for himself. he was stuck in his gears again. his mind was sliding through again to where he was just tired. the battle that he waged yesterday night was just too much for his body.

the chakra was replenished, but his mind wasn't. he was still ready to fight, but it was more of him moving on auto-pilot. " so shall we move on? " daichi would motion in the direction of their mission location.

My, how irreverent they seemed. The graceful one managed a semblance of respect and courtesy, albeit undercut with quite the imperious air. The other simply seemed... well, rough. Standing at such a delicate height, and with such features, at first glance I had taken the one named Matsumoto for a girl, but if there was anybody quite so astute in matters of gender as I, I had yet to meet them. This was a boy - a beautiful boy, but male all the same. The other, Daichi, was rather more overtly masculine, given his missing clothing, but he too was short - compared to myself. I supposed they were both terribly young, and given my excessive age and height I felt rather outlandish.

"Matsumoto, Daichi, I'm charmed," I said, smiling at both of them, "I am Mai Akira, and I shall be leading today's mission. I'm quite sure you'll impress me," I had almost forgotten what it was like to talk to the younger generation. It made me think of a certain genin of my own village, rather more... respectful than those of the Sand, it seemed.
"Our objective is assassination, our target Hanzou, a gang leader and monstrous criminal. Currently, he seems to be holed up in a bar, quite possibly a gang hideout. I'd rather we do this with as little bloodshed as possible, mm?"

I turned away from them, pointing down the dingy alleyway at a building on the street opposite. Though the windows were boarded up, light shone through, and even from here, rowdy voices could be heard.
"I propose we each take a separate entrance - a window to either side and the door to the rear. When we have pinpointed his location within, two of us will cause diversions - smoke bombs, explosives, whatever takes your fancy - and the third will seize him and remove him from the building, followed by a rendezvous with him in our possession," I paused to watch their expressions.

"Any concerns, or shall we begin?" It was refreshing to be back in the field, I could only hope my young charges proved co-operative.

Daichi's arrival was of no surprise to Ushinawa. Arriving both late, and half naked seemed almost characteristic of the boy. It seemed a little uncharacteristic for him to give such a superfluous explanation of his name, however. Perhaps he was attempting to show off for the woman who would be commanding them. After all, she was an incredibly tall, incredibly beautiful woman. It would not have been out of the ordinary for Daichi to have found her either intimidating, attractive, or perhaps a mix of the two. Without haste he would suggest initiating the mission, to which it seemed this woman, Akira, would be forced to answer with her proposed plan.

A quick run down the particulars would reveal the name of the target, Hanzou. The plan was as simple as causing a diversion and extracting him from the hostile territory. Of course, to avoid battle they would have to use stealth tactics to ensure they could enter the building, identify Hanzou, and remove him without having anyone notice. It seemed like a decent enough plan, the particulars no doubt being fleshed out as the situation unfolded. Of course, there were a few things that could be clarified before they proceeded.

"A few clarifications, sensei. Has HQ provided us with details on Hanzou's appearance, or will we need to discover his identity during the mission? Next, where is the determined rendezvous point should something go wrong?" 

It might have become obvious at that point that either Ushinawa was a textbook nerd, or was experienced in these sorts of missions. While having seldom acted as an assassin during his youth, he had often been involved LIC operations to maintain the cover of his militia. At a time when death had become as close to him as any of the brothers and sisters he had lost, those were the missions he looked forward too most. At least there would be some sort of break, some sort of pause to battle in some way. Now, here in this alleyway, he could imagine the same sort of situation unfolding in the way that it did all of those years ago... perhaps this time with a better outcome.

there was another problem. " will you be the one supplying these flash bombs and excetera? " daichi was a ninja, but more in the sense that he had a certificate that said he was one.

he would then motion to his tattered clothes. " I don't have anything on me but my blades and speed. " he would let out a soft chuckle. he was definitely different then the last time he met matsumoto. the fact that he had murdered two people in cold blood yesterday had a profound effect on him. they were soundly going to defeat him and he thought he was gonna truly die. that near death experience awoke a more wild version of him.

"Oh, of course, forgive me," I had quite forgotten. Rummaging inside my handbag, I produced a rather crumpled picture of our target, and showed it to the two genin. Quite the striking face, the scar that ran vertically across his entire visage added quite the dangerous appeal. Still, it certainly made him recognisable. I stuffed it back into my bag, looking around us briefly.
"There will do," I said, pointing out a bend in the alleyway that wouldn't be visible from the bar we were to raid. It was as good a spot to rendezvous as any, given that our assault would take place from every direction but this one.

I raised an eyebrow at Daichi's contribution to the discussion.
"Well, you'll just have to be the one to grab him, I suppose. You have my thanks for coming prepared," I smiled at him, hopefully imparting just how professional I thought him. Still, it was quite the serious mission, and as genin, one would think they would want to do everything in their power to prepare. Perhaps he would surprise me yet. I wasn't particularly concerned, in truth. My abilities were made for capture, and if the boy failed, I would cover for him.
"Very well, let us begin. Take up position on either side, and then meet me round the back after you locate him,"

I stretched, before performing a string of handseals.
"Needless to say, don't let yourselves be seen. Bon chance, darlings," With that, and now hidden from sight, I took off down the alleyway, approaching the boarded up bar head on. I leaped delicately onto the roof, and tread carefully across it. It was probably unnecessary to be so cautious, given the amount of noise coming from within, but I was nothing if not thorough. Upon crossing the tiles, I dropped down lightly on the other side, now at the rear of the building.

Though all but invisible to the naked eye, I still took care not to make any noise as I pressed up against the back wall, peering through the rear window. With Matsumoto and Daichi looking through the east and west windows, we ideally wouldn't have to enter the building to locate Hanzou. But I could not see him yet, scanning the faces within through an unboarded spot in the glass.

I hoped the other two would have better luck.

{jutsu}Meisai Gakure no Jutsu (Camouflage Concealment Technique) [150]

Meisai Gakure no Jutsu is an advanced Ninjutsu technique created for stealth purposes. After forming the needed handseals, the Shinobi will summon a large amount of visually altering Chakra, strong enough to coat their bodies and take effect within moments of use. With this, the user can grant themselves near invisibility, which can be sustained even when in motion or minimal contact occurs. Only Chakra sensing methods have been shown to pierce the veil and see the hidden ninja easily.

Note: Quick movement and bright lighting reduces the effectiveness of this technique considerably.

Daichi's response was blunt, but not far from what Ushinawa had grown to expect from him. With a slight sigh, he would shake his head slightly, rolling his eyes before centering his attention back onto their commander. After reaching into a bag, she would reveal the image of the man that they had been sent to kill. It was an odd feeling, seeing a man with a clear history, and knowing that in a few minutes none of it would matter. Such was death, it seemed. Getting a good look at the man, Ushinawa would make sure to take note of his hair style, the color of his skin, but most noticeably the scar that seemed to take claim to his face. He would be an easy target to spot. After putting the photograph away, she would then lead their attention to the extraction point. Offering a curt nod, they would finally be prepared to begin. 

Watching her move away from the two of them, Matsumoto would be quick to follow. After a few effortless handseals, Akira would appear to disappear from their sight as though becoming one with the air around them. Ushinawa's eyes would widen upon seeing the technique, stopping in his tracks as he would witness her vanish before his eyes. 

'I'll have to have her teach me that...' He considered, already beginning to consider the possibilities that would be open to him with it.

Looking back at Daichi, he would offer a quick nod before moving his hands together to form a certain number of seals himself. Making his way towards the eastern side of the bar, he would lift the cape from his shoulders before raising his hand up the center of it. Unbuttoning it hastily, he would be quick to make sure that his eyes were focused on the possibility that there might be other exits for their target to exit. Noting the windows, doors, and fire escapes, he would move to a duck as he hastily trotted towards the eastern most window. The cape in hand, Ushinawa's next action appeared to be the most basic for the boy. Thrusting it around his head, only a small portion would remain for his left eye, while the remainder of the cloak would cover his crouched body to ensure that the rest of his miniature frame would not be spotted by any possible guard or passerby.

The scene inside was clearly visible, and from his position he would be able to see the west window as well. It would make non-verbal communication easy as well, assuming he could ensure his teammate could understand him, or even get in position on time...

daichi didn't even care for her sarcasm. he simply chose to continue on with the mission. a picture of he target was displayed to him. the target was much older, and with a defining scar running all along his face.

daichi wouldn't ask. he simply knew what he had to do. he would see matsumoto give him a non-verbal cue. the window showed a nice portion of the inside. their target was hidden among a lot of other people. daichi had a hard time distinguishing between people because they seemed to turn around or talk from the side of the windows view.

he hoped that the other two had more luck with this than he did.

I had rather hoped for better visibility. Making out a face through the window was difficult, especially with so many people inside. The one man that did catch my eye had his back to me, but he seemed to be a center of attention, with a number of people milling around him conversing. I closed my eyes, holding the familiar handseal that would let me assess him, sensing both daichi and matsumoto in position - and yes, his chakra was significantly brighter than the rest of the bar's occupants. It made sense for the strongest person within to be our target, no? He was a gang leader, after all, and skilled in combat, as the mission brief stated. Still, we couldn't seize him without being sure.

I could wait for the other two to join me, and hope they'd spotted him, or I could expedite the process, and identify him myself. I had planned from the outset to put these two through their paces, and rely on them to use their initiative, but it would certainly be easier if I took care of it. Well, something had to be done! Raising one hand, I let a single silk thread slip from beneath my fingernail and enter the building through a small crack in the window. Although the thread would be visible to anybody who cared to look, it was slender and the bar was bustling with activity. Besides - I wanted somebody to look.

It wound its way towards the man I suspected, and sharply tugged on his hair from behind. He turned around, looking furious. Aha! It was him! I severed the thread, letting it fall useless within the building, before speeding around the side of the building. Naturally they would follow the thread to find its source, but it was of no consequence. I came upon Daichi, and whispered in his ear, hopefully not startling him due to my near invisibility.
"That one, see he's turned around and heading for the back door? He's our man. You said you're fast, inform Matsumoto, we'll converge on him behind the bar - I suspect they'll go outside to investigate,"

I rather hoped Matsumoto - who seemed to be astute and observant, despite his age, had caught a glimpse of the man's face previously, facing forward as he had been, and had noticed his attention caught. But it mattered not, I had lured him - hopefully outside - and we were given an opportunity.

I leaped gracefully back atop the roof, making my way to the rear once more and peering down. Perhaps now I would let the two of them take charge, as the door opened and a number of people stepped outside, Hanzou being one of them, to investigate the source of my thread.

Kagura Shingan (Kagura Mind’s Eye) [150]

Chakra Consumption: Low per 15 meters: Miniscule sustain
Kagura Shingan is an advanced Sensory Ninjutsu technique used by all sensors, and serves as the root to the entire sensory tree. After performing the necessary handseal, the sensor closes their eyes and uses their innate ability to detect Chakra in order to determine the location of their opponent by the faintest of Chakra trails, as well as discerning the size of an approaching unseen force, and even their Chakra capacity.

This sensory technique can also discern whether or not a person is under the effects of a Genjutsu; which elements they have at their command (even advanced releases), and likewise mask their own Chakra signature (user’s) from other sensory ninja. The focus required to do the latter (masking their signature) prohibits their other sensing abilities, however.

Note: It should be noted that no other jutsu can be used while this technique is active. This jutsu requires Admin Approval. Restricted to Ninjutsu/Genjutsu Masters and Jack-of-all-trades. Consumes one release slot from Ninjutsu/Genjutsu Masters and either a release or fighting style slot from Jack-of-all-trades.



Kumo Kenshi (Spider Silk Thread) [50]

Although the Sasanagi may spit their threads at an opponent, there are more uses to the creation than simply that. With this technique, the Sasanagi clan member can create lengths of thread for any purpose, and these may also be produced under the Sasanagi's fingernails (for a total of ten threads). Lengths of thread may be used for their sticky properties to subdue opponents, or expelled at heights to ascend quickly; the possibilities are limitless, aside from the range.

Note: These threads are tethers that are roughly the size of an average person’s finger; they’re very visible in broad daylight. These threads possess a reasonable amount of force (capable of lifting and restraining a fully grown man effortlessly). This technique also allows the user to manipulate objects that their webs have wrapped around (such as picking up and throwing objects, or making a person move if they’ve been restrained).

It should be noted that if thread is cut or destroyed in any way, it will become immobile and thusly unable to be used. The user can then “severe” it at their fingernail, and emit another in its place.

Only other Sasanagi techniques may be cast while the user has threads capable of being manipulated active. This technique was created by Daisy.

The scene was a rather rudimentary bar scene. Various men sitting and standing in various locations, speaking to each other about various ways to change the world. It was an interesting scene for a child who had yet to be associated with such drudgery, but it was not unlike the times that he might have spent in the academy before and after class would begin. The difference might have been the alcohol, however. Either way, before his eyes a series of men who could have possibly fit their targets description surrounded the room. While there were a number of jovial expressions and conversations making their way around, it was the sudden expression of anger that would catch his attention. 

A large man at the bar would turn with a sudden jerk, his fist having already been raised to prepare himself to engage whatever foe dared to challenge him. Immediately after, a small band of his cohorts would react in the same way- the conversations cutting short under the pretense of danger. He was of significant stature, and his ocean blue kimono seemed to be only slightly more colorful than his pale blue hair, rough and spiky despite being trapped into a messy ponytail. Interesting, Hanzou had traits quite similar to this man, in fact, the more that Ushinawa would observe the scene, the sooner he would notice the man's mangled visage- a vertical scar running down the side of his face. They had located their man. His attention would swiftly raise to his partner on the other side of the building. Exchanging nods, it was an acknowledgement that it was time to engage the enemy.

Hanzou bent forward to reach for something that had caught his eye- something that Ushinawa hadn't noticed before. Pulling at what appeared to be a thread, he and a few of his cohorts would begin to follow its trail. Making their way towards the back door, things would begin to connect for the genin. The thread was undoubtedly Akira's doing, which meant that if she was prepared to trap him, he would have to prepare for the diversion. 

Reaching into his bag, the genin would place two small slips of paper on either side of the window. Hastily making his way up the side of the building, a quick hop would leave him atop the roof of an adjacent building. Given Hanzou's position at the front of the pack, the impending explosion behind the group would no doubt leave him out of the sight of the rest as they would turn to investigate it. He could only hope that Daichi and Akira were ready.

Raising his fingers to his chest, a single seal would ignite the seal- and the soon demise of the gangster.

daichi had done nothing so far and he was becoming a little antsy. he needed the action and the involvement. he just couldn't take it anymore. the kaguya boy would jump through the window. shattering the glass causing the leader to back-away. hanzou was effectively out of the way with his men continuing forward and acting as a blast shield of sorts when the seal went off.

the boy would pull both kukri from their holders, and aimed them at hanzou's head. " death to all the traitors! mirakaze will have your heads! " daichi would say revealing the name of the other gang leader. since he wasn't wearing his shinobi headband and seemed like a random stranger. if word got back it would only incriminate the rival gang leader and not the kazekage.

Apparently stone deaf as well as foolish, my eyes widened as I heard Daichi's cries. Had I not just given him instructions? Were these the kind of shinobi the Sand tolerated? Thankfully, his cries were accompanied by an explosion, hopefully caused by Matsumoto, so at least one of the two was contributing. Regardless, this was getting out of hand, and I had to act. The moment Hanzou left the rear of the building, I unleashed a number of silk threads, seizing the man and dragging him up onto the roof, where I hastily bound them around his mouth.

Those who had accompanied him out of the building had all turned upon the explosion, and had been looking inwards, meaning Hanzou being hoisted onto the roof had gone unnoticed. My mind rather made up, I turned, Hanzou supported in the air by my threads, and sped back across the roof. I chanced to see Matsumoto on the next roof, and hopefully the sight of our target captured and moving would alert him to what had happened, even if he could not see me. I cared not what happened to the other genin at this point, and would leave his actions unto himself.

These were hardly my own shinobi, now were they? The mission all but complete, albeit with a bizarre hiccup, I made my way across the roof, dropping down in front of the building, before hurrying back into the alleyway opposite, and around the agreed upon bend.
I dropped the man unceremoniously at my feet, leaving the silk binding his mouth.
"I hope you were worth all this trouble, dear," I murmured, finally cancelling my concealment jutsu as I awaited the return of my two companions. Or one, I wasn't picky.

Sending the establishment into a panic, it would not take long for the smoke filled air to consume the majority of the block. The flames which would soon follow the destruction of the eastern side of the building would quickly erupt as it caught hold of the foundation which allowed these sand and clay buildings to maintain their structure. The smell of chalk and paste would fill the air as Matsumoto began to make his escape to the rendezvous point. Clouded by the smoke of his own creation, Hanzou and his captor would not catch his eye immediately, but he had full confidence in Akira's ability. It had been a while since he had been able to work with a partner who was as capable in a squad as he was. While his combat skills were nothing to write home about, he had least been able to follow orders to a certain degree.

Making his way from the roof to a lower patio, and then landing within the midsts of the alleyway, he would turn once to ensure that none of the thugs who had been caught in the explosion were not making their rendezvous an escape route. After a few moments, he would hastily turn around to make his way down the bend. Instantly discovering the giantess before him, he would nod a greeting before finding their target writhing on the ground beneath them. His fate had been decided, but it was still never a good idea to reveal too much information.

"I heard screaming before I left. I assume he didn't make it," Ushinawa would say without much remorse at the idea of Daichi's death. Turning back to ensure that they would not be discovered, Ushinawa's gaze would move to his back as he spoke to his commander. "Let's finish this and be on our way, sensei."

Daichi would be blasted back through the window from once he came by the explosion. He was thoroughly annoyed by not actually getting to fight anyone. He crossed his arms with both Kukri there. He got up as the blunt force damage did next to nothing to the kaguya's hard bone structure and body. He would get to his feet, patting himself down from what dust he gained. A few glass shards were in his skin. Whatever, He would think.

This entire mission was annoying to all hell to him. It required him to 'use his brain', and 'fight stealthily' why would they choose Daichi of all people to do this? Because they knew when it came to murder that idiot was gonna go to the limit. As he continued to stroll past the burning building a thought came to mind. So, I'm hungry. I wonder if I should have yakisoba or gohan with a hamburger" The smell of the burning building and burning and rotting bodies didn't even bother Daichi.

He finally rounded the corner to see his teammates. His kukri were sheathed and his hands were behind his head with his fingers interlaced. His face calmly saying not a single fuck was given. " So yeah. I survived. Huzzah. I'm going home. "
