The shinobi in all black clothing (see profile), along with bandages wrapped around his head and covering his left eye, standing ten meters from where his opponent would have been prepared himself for combat. He would carry everything upon him that he would need, weapons, jutsu, etc. He had known that a true warrior always stepped into the battlefield at the ready, and hopefully his opponent was as well. His ash grey, right eye, had stared straight forward in the path ahead of him, with eyes that resembled those of a wild beast.

Standing motionless ten meters away, Midori would stare down his opponent. He’d carefully analyze his visage. The moment he made his move, Midori would strike. He wasn’t the type to attack first. It limited his advantage over his opponents. He had already known what he wanted to do. He’d begin rocking back, and forth. It looked as if he lost his balance, but everything he did had a reason.

He watched as his opponent didn't try to prepare himself for the battle in any kind of way, though that didn't mind that the shinobi would do the same. He was an animal who only fought with one belief - survival of the fittest, and this battle would show who was the fittest to go on living. He had strung together a set of seals near-instantly, birthing a creation of wooden beams from his left arm which would have extended out toward his foe at double the speed of his Mokuton Ryuuken.

Spikes can deviate up to 90 degrees from the main wood piece's travel path. Finally, growth speed of wood is double the user's max 'Mokuton Ryuuken' growth rate.
Description: After a few simple seals, the Mokuton user will changes one's own arm into big trees and use it to extend a large mass of spikes towards their target. Using chakra, the tissues are transformed into trees at the cellular level. Then, by activating the trees, stimulating them to grow rapidly, they lengthen at high speed and fork into many branches. These spikes can act both to impale his target and as a barrier to protect a comrade. Such is the strength of the stakes that it is said to be able to break through defenses of the same Rank or lower than the technique. When the technique is over, the trees fall off of the user's arm and the user will regain the use of his or her arms.

The moment Kouetsu began to perform hand seals, it signaled the start of the battle. With that being the case, Midori would swiftly respond. The speed of his jutsu had been magnificent, leaving no room for error. Immediately, channeling the chakra within his body to his feet, he’d leap five meters into the air. During these, he had been performing hand seals^1A of his own. By the time the attack of his opponent reached his previous location, he had been done.

Inhaling air deep within his lungs, the moment he exhaled it, a deadly yellow gas had spread out twenty meters across the entire area. Being that Kouetsu had already been ten meters within, unless he had something that allowed him to double the distance, he’d been left, standing, and paralyzed. Midori would begin his descent, hopefully taking advantage of a subdued opponent, and seized three shuriken each between the crevices of his fingers. He’d launch them at the man, intending to kill him right then, and there.

Before the technique would have reached his foe, he had watched him leap high into the air, and as the shinobi had watched, he smirked. Immediately, his jutsu would then split into separate branches, and two new ones that had been created arc'd at a 90 degree angle and rushed upward toward his opponent who was 5 meters into the air, piercing into his body with two, powerful spiked wooden rods as his body would slowly descend down upon them as he would have began forming his handseals.

The jutsu that Kouetsu used had been fast. Not only that, but it had been quite tricky. While airborne, the wood the curved upward to impale Midori. During this, he had begun to split^2A. Although it’d take a few seconds to fully complete, the area that he had impaled had been the replacement part of both sides. He’d continue the latter part of his actions from before, which was seizing three shuriken in between his fingers for each hand, and throwing them at the head of his opponent. By the time he split, he hoped that his opponent was dead.
