The Kage Summit - Kusagakure's Fate!

Welcome,

You have been invited here, to Tetsu no Kuni's Gokage Kaidan, because you represent the best that your respective village has to offer. You are the face of your people wherever you go, and carry the weight of their expectations and needs upon your shoulders. You do what very others can, or will, and show not one ounce of respite; you do not yield in the face of danger, however, nor do you enter it recklessly. You speak and act with a wisdom beyond your years, passed down through the generations of those who came before you.

You are Kages.

You gather here today to decide the fate of yet another fledgling nation, one who seeks to join your ranks -- to become one of the Great Nations. And with it, bestow the absolute honor and privilege of being called a Kage. Today, you gather to decide whether or not your sister nation, Kusa no Kuni, will be welcomed into your ranks -- and with her, their proud leader, Blanche Kikkawa, accepted into the exclusive, illustrious circle you, yourself, represent.

Before casting your votes, you shall hear the nominee speak on her behalf. Listen carefully, for your decision shall decide the fate of countless others. Be true to yourself, Kages, and may your people give you the strength to make the right decision.

OOC: This is a mandatory thread for all of the current Kages. Being that this is a special event, you are temporarily exempt from the "three-thread" rule (only for this particular thread, however). Those who fail to post here will be reprimanded heavily.

Apple will post first. After that, the other Kages will be able to post asking their questions and stating their concerns. From there, we will have an established posting order.

It goes without saying that this is a combat enabled thread. However, being as how we lack current PC guards, I will personally NPC all of the guards that are literally flooding this establishment.

In regards to the chamber we are in, please reference this image. The kages are positioned exactly in that fashion, with Blanche (the nominee) situated at the center podium. This hearing is a majority vote (requiring 3/5 approval). Good luck, and have fun!

The journey to Tetsu had been relatively pleasant. I hadn’t been there for surely years- The last time I’d set foot there was .. Not even I could recall when exactly, but it was nonetheless a peaceful journey. Having left to go to the summit alone, it made it much easier due to the fact that I was allowed to travel at my own pace which, at most times was quite fast. Without the unnecessary baggage of having one of the village shinobi to travel with me I was allowed to bask in my own thoughts as I’d travelled so elegantly across the plains of the country. However, it hadn’t been long until I’d reached my destination and.. now? Now I found myself sitting in front of a desk with each village leader bearing down upon me from almost each angle. Perhaps had I had blinked I’d have missed the whole travelling part of my journey it had gone so fast, but I couldn’t exactly say that I wasn’t glad that it had gone so quickly, as now I was here, and I could begin my cause in regards to getting my village on the front with the others as far as our influence was concerned. Needless to say I wanted the best for my village, and this was the perfect opportunity for me to strengthen its authority. Both of my hands gently touching the table as they were held before me, I’d prepare myself to speak on part of my people, and my village. I rose from my seat, both hands on my hips as I stared forward, my frame highlighted beautifully in my usual choice of clothing.

”Ladies and genlemen- Welcome.”

I had to start it off somehow and I felt that an introduction was correct. ”I’m sure each of you know by now but; my name is Kikkawa. Blanche, and I represent Kusagakure as far as its leadership stands today.” Of course, I was aware that the people in the room should know my name by now given the nature of the meeting before us all, but just in case anyone had forgotten or didn’t know in the first place, I chose to repeat it for the sake of getting my name embedded in their minds- After all, if the outcome of the meeting was to come out positive for myself and the village, they’d need to remember it. Paying a swift gaze at each member in the room before I’d begin, I then pondered what they were currently thinking. As far as Sunagakure stood I was aware that Soratsu had managed to seep his influence in to the village once more and was hidden beneath the veil of the shadow clone bearing the image of the man that he was impersonating and I was sure that I had his approval, but the others I couldn’t be too sure of. I’d also held an alliance with the past Tsuchikage with Iwagakure, and even though I’d known Coco and our last meeting had been friendly, I couldn’t be too sure as to if she supported the grass village in its attempt to break free from its title as a minor nation and join its so-called superiors.

”I’m sure that several of you can recall the state the village was in after the first great shinobi war, or you’d heard word of its destruction.”

Pause. I chose to begin my tale from the start.

”I understand that it’s important to look towards the future a far as development goes, but all those years ago when I’d seen my home burned to the ground by attackers I didn’t expect that the village would last to see the end of the week, let alone eight and a half years.”

I’d seen family homes destroyed and looted and people screaming in terror from the thin windows of the hospital when I’d worked there at the time. I hadn’t been allowed much time off given the amount of casualties that the village was being dealt each day from the onslaught, but from what I do remember seeing, it was all laced with death and destruction. With the home I’d had for both myself and Momochi ruined, I’d had to take refuge with other family members. ”Having been restored as even a minor nation as people flooded back, it’s flourished with activity and life since. Given that it had been completely dead the last time I’d set foot there several years ago, it simply shows the dedication that not only I, but the entire population of Kusagakure share.” it was true- I’d been amazed at simply how many people had returned to the village and how quickly a sense of community had been built. Even I’d managed to make some acquaintances with a few shinobi which went past my the initial friendliness that my position required me to show to my fellow kin. ”And now; As we hang in this limbo of peace, the question is whether or not Kusagakure will become a sixth great nation and join you all.” At this point, I’d leave another pause before continuing, paying another gaze towards the other village leaders. Of course, officially I wasn’t known as the Kusakage as far as I’d known, but I already referred myself as one. After all; I’d heard and lived through the dangerous leadership the village had had during the first shinobi war, and I was the best thing to happen to it since a time that I couldn’t even recall. We were due for our praise on our development in such hard times. ”..While the village may not rival any of yours as far as size or power goes at the moment, we are, in reality, just beginning our journey. We may be limited to space where village size is concerned, but it doesn’t draw away from the fact that we are increasing in numbers, strength and fortitude.”

Another pause, my right hand rising and to run through a long streak of blonde hair before I spoke.

”Are we to deny a village with such potential the means to grow?”

”Now I may not be as strong or intelligent as some of you.”

”But I know my village and what it’s capable of.”

”Denying us this opportunity and making us live in the shadow of what we could have been whilst we continue to rise above the limits of the title minor nation will only condescend."

By making us live as unequal whilst our power may rival one or more major village, it would simply create tension.

"I'm sure you all now how important this step is for Kusagakure.

..Don't reject us.”

I then lowered, signalling that I was done speaking. With those words, I'd then turn my dazzling blue eyes to the village leaders around me as I prepared for an onslaught of questions. I was prepared.

How unlike me to arrive so immaculately on time. A testament to my eagerness, perhaps? I'd been looking forward to such an auspicious gathering ever since the dear Mizukage had mentioned it at the Chuunin Exams. I had so hoped that i would have opportunity to meet with Blanche before it occured, but time hadn't been on our side. I supposed she would arrive home to my letter, had those two managed to deliver it. I took my seat alongside the other four leaders. Only two were unfamiliar faces, the Hokage and the Kazekage. I resisted the urge to wave at Akira, and instead focused on Blanche's speech.

How fabulous, she'd already made the whole event sound as if it were her doing, welcoming us to her occasion. It had been a long time since last we met, but if anything, she was even haughtier than i recalled. Her speech was eloquent, if arrogant. She was almost demanding her status, rather than entreating us. But a well placed self-deprecation, and a flick of blonde hair, and she had turned it around. Of course, this was just a formality. What i'd said to her, all that time ago, i hadn't forgotten, nor had i gone back on it.

When she finished, with such a resounding statement, i gave her a small clap. It was quite sincere, regardless of how sadly it echoed around the stoic room. Rummaging in my handbag, i brought out my trademark compact mirror, and a tube of gloss, and began coating my lips. I paused to look around at my fellow leaders. The Mizukage, as striking as ever. The Raikage, who seemed laid back, as i'd thought of him at the exams. And the two unfamiliar faces, who no doubt both possessed impressive power of their own. Finally, i turned to Blanche, with a now gleaming smile.

"Wonderful speech, darling. Of course, there's no question here. Iwagakure fully supports Kusagakure's establishment as one of our own." Was all i had to say on the matter, as i returned to my lips. I couldn't wait to hear from the others.

There really wasn't much to say. Blanche delivered a spectacular speech, just as I suspected she would, founded with pride and tempered with humility. I was impressed, to say the least. And while I was still somewhat unsure as to how the dealings over Samehada would go (which I intended to address before this summit was over), I wouldn't dare deny her-- or her people --the rights they deserved. Kageship, and the pride of being known as a Great Nation alongside the rest of us.

"Kirigakure has no objections, either. We fully support Kusagakure, and the Kusakage, in all of their endeavors hence forth." A bit presumptuous on my end - but, I had a good idea how this entire scenario was going to play out.

Leaning back in my seat, I waited for the others.

The journey to Tetsu no kuni had been a long and arduous one, but the arrival was sweet and well worth the effort. The days had passed surprisingly slow which gave the golden-haired Raikage an ample amount of time for introspection as he traveled literally across the ninja world to get here. Solo, he knew which roads and mountains passes to travel to limit his chances of entering any danger, and it also allowed him to set his own pace - not having to embark on his trek in formation. Even though it was surprisingly enjoyable, he was here for some serious business, the possible inauguration of not only a leader but a village into the inner-circle that was the Great Nations. Passing through the cold snowy terrain into the heart of Tetsu no kuni, he was greeted with a warm welcome - the heat and delicious food not coming soon enough.

But now, as he was, he sat in a room surrounded by his fellow shadows. He had brought his official cap, but nothing else of the formal attire. It was not his style to don the full garb, and nor would he. Placed in front of him on the large table where they all sat, Eiichiro was sunk into his chair - his forest-green eyes hidden behind the lens of his sunglasses. As his eyes moved around the room he would see that everyone was focused on what Blanche, the leader of Kusa, was having to say as she put forth her case. Calm and emotive, her words were beginning to speak volumes for her village. A truly worthy representative, she took what was an incredibly daunting situation in her stride as she spoke of the terrors and trails her village had to endure. Touching, it made Eiichiro think back to what he and his village have had to overcome, a powerful message that seemed to take effect on the five kages which sat in the room.

Rushing his palm through his silky golden-hair, Blanche had finished her tale, and one-by-one each kage began to speak before it was indeed his own turn. The words of the Kusa leader were penetrating and influential, and he would applaud her for that. But, as the Tsuchikage spoke 'vouching' her claim instantly, and then the Mizukage also, an instant feeling of annoyance coursed his body. He couldn't believe his ears, were they really taking this so lightly? He had meet Blanche briefly at the chuunin exams, as well as the two kages that had already spoke. Were they privy to information that he wasn't? Why were no questions asked, weighted demands made, or any consolidation made that this land was truly ready to step up? Eiiichiro was not against Kusa becoming one of the great nations, his mind was completely open to the idea, it just struck him strangely that these great leaders would fall over themselves for...her.

He itched his hand, something he would only do when feelings of frustration and nervousness would pulse through his system. He was still young, and even though he sat on the other-side of the firing-line, it was daunting for him as well. As the social cue signaled Eiichiro to speak, he would slowly move his hands to the front edge of the table before leisurely moving them forward. Now, he was not sitting sluggishly in his chair, instead, his shoulders were forward and head angled slightly down. Speaking in a confident, commanding voice, it seemed he would be the first to ask questions instead of blindly agreeing. He would clear his throat with a single cough before voicing his concerns.



"You put forth a compelling case, indeed it would be difficult to deny anyone who has faced what you have. However, we have all, including our nations, had trials and tribulation in which we have had to overcome. My village has stood for decades, with the knowledge of past leaders bestowing the will for it to prosper. Kusa is still very much in its infancy, barely allowed a decade to stand on its own feet."

"Your population, military strength, and economy have increased exponentially, yes. But, when there is nothing to start with - any growth is inevitable. I wish for you to consider the title of a Great Nation. Many positive things come from this yes, but there is also the negative. Hiding behind the vale of a minor nation has granted you much protection from the ninja world. How do you know once you are out from behind the curtain, that you and your people can conquer the malevolence that exists in this world. How do you think your new title would help this?

Emotive in his own right, the strength of the Raikage would be shown to the rest which sat in the room. Although very much in his youth and nonchalant in nature, he was chosen as the Nidaime's successor for a reason. Gifted with a powerful skill for perception and awareness, his words were direct and focused at the leader of Kusa. Now leaning back, he wait for the Kazekage and Hokage to speak. Would their views mirror his own?

In silence I allowed my fellow shadows to contort with one another- wondering why it was I had been invited here in the first place- I wasn't yet even seated- let alone given a title.

To my right, the raikage spoke, a booming voice which seemed to energize me as he chose to verbally attack the kusakage. Though.. his speech, elongated, made me want to puke right then and there.

"Raikage-sama. Excuse my intrusion but... it definitely takes more strength, as well as will-power, to come from nothing. You speak as if the village of cloud has ever witnessed true destruction like that of a minor village.."

I would turn my attention to the Kusakage, who stay seated at the top of the room, also to my right.

"Kusakage-chan. Who you choose to side with from now on will decide your fate. Although you are joining our ranks as a minor village, you still have much to think about. We are not all allies here..."

I'd say, redirecting my attention to the mizukage.

"Wouldn't you agree.. mizukage-domo..?"

This was... an interesting ensemble.

I wasn't quite sure who had been the one to call such a ill-timed meeting, but I was surely regretting even considering to show up. It wasn't that I did not believe Blanche deserved the same recognition as a Kage as the rest of us, but rather the fact that this whole thing seemed extremely fake; none of them truly cared about Kusagakure's status as a major village. It was stupid to even slightly think otherwise.

"True destruction can happen to any village." I interrupted; my voice, though slightly low, reverberating throughout the room with ease. "Surely you Hokage, of all people, should understand that." Konohagakure's utter destruction had occurred many years back, but I was sure Agarumo hadn't forgotten. Regardless, I turned to face Blanche, choosing to ignore the Raikage's speech in it's entirety.

"Not only do you have Sunagakure's full blessing to become a major nation, but as our ally you have our protection, should you ever need it."

Compliance came easily as the Tsuchikage spoke, and I could only but wonder as I gazed upon the features of Coco von Alexandria Valentino II. Where had she been? Having assumed that she’d resigned from the position as Tsuchikage all those months ago, I’d met with her successor, Anemone, of whom I’d spoken with. But now it seemed that time had reversed itself and Coco was the one back at the front of the game with her title of Tsuchikage restored. What exactly had happened? I was made somewhat content by the round of clapping that she momentarily expressed, and the Mizukage’s agreement made this appear to be too easy. It couldn’t last as such for long and as I watched onwards as Eiichiro began to speak, my guesses were rendered correct, and he brought out a long, winded speech that I assumedly had to respond to with my own witty, accurate thoughts and ideas. Having already sat down in my seat and being quite content to sit exactly where I was, I’d lean back slightly as the Raikage continued to speak, my own hands clasping together and rising to hover below my chin, both of my index fingers gently touching my bottom lip. He was genuinely comparing Kusagakure to the other five great nations in regards to how they had suffered the same? They could never compare.

”..Hiding behind the vale of a minor nation has granted you much protection from the ninja world..”

”I disagree.”

Perhaps I did myself no favours for myself, but I refused to simply nod and smile brainlessly.



”Kusagakure has suffered alike each other nation during the last decade – if not more.

Our title of minor nation hadn’t veiled us from the first shinobi war..

Nor the second.

For as long as I know, the veil hasn’t even existed.”

Whilst the first had destroyed Kusagakure in its entirety, from the spirit that embodied Kusagakure’s citizens too had diminished with it. The second had simply managed to break down whatever progress the village had made through getting caught in Kouketsu’s game and had rendered it destroyed once more. Whilst during the first shinobi war some major villages had returned from it perhaps not victorious but better off than others, the minor nations had been the true victims, having been destroyed either by bitter civil war charged by the bloodthirsty notion of war, or through having the major villages attempt to prey on them due to the fact that they were considerably smaller. ”As shinobi none of us can escape the grasp of malevolence. Those around us, myself and even you, Raikage. It will always exist, no matter our attempts to stop it.” I’d speak, my soft blue eyes making considerable eye contact with the man as I spoke against his own standpoint. I’d respected his opinion of course, but it didn’t mean that he had permission to say that I’d- We’d suffered nothing in the village because we were smaller than the others. It was.. hilarious even to think that we’d been protected because of our minor nation status. It was laughable even, and if I hadn’t been so cautious with my words at the current time, I’d have probably laughed at his comment. I simply couldn’t understand how ignorant he was being. Sure enough I’d let this slide for our next meeting, but I just couldn’t believe what I was hearing

– Did he actually believe the words that he was spewing?

Having ended my response to the Raikage, I’d then turn my attention to a man who seemed to bear the title of Hokage as he began to speak, not giving his opinion either on Kusagakure’s standing within the shinobi world in regards to the question of the meeting but instead, he too seemed against what the Raikage had said, In fact; From the next few words that he had to say, each one of us surely chiming in to hear him speak, it seemed that he was less about deciding whether or not Kusagakure should join the ranks of Konohagakure and its fellow major nations than he was about questioning the allies and enemies that Kusagakure would choose should it get promoted as so to say. With a stable relationship with Sunagakure, Kusagakur could stand on that easily, however the relationship with Iwagakure would need to be reinstated. As he finished his words, I’d nod my head, finding no reason to respond- It came across that he was giving me advice rather than giving the yes or no, but his standpoint at the moment seemed hopeful. However, whatever words the Hokage had finished with had obviously kindled some kind of temper within the Mizukage. From the way he was speaking to him it seemed as if Kirigakure and Konohagakure bore no friendship of any sort, and if anything, it seemed quite the opposite. I wasn’t too keen on having it heard in my hearing, but I chose to stand back and let the boys fight. The moment of irritation was soon taken over by the Kazekage’s words, all of which I’d anticipated and hoped for even with his own shot towards Konohagakure added in to the mix. "Thank you." With a soft nod towards the Kazekage, as I’d done to each other village leader who had supported my cause, I’d then finish the current round of questions, lowering my hands to the table as I watched on.

What would come next?

I supposed the men had a point. Although we'd all undoubtedly experienced our own share of destruction and tragedy, Kusagakure had been all but wiped from existence. Could we compare our own troubles to that? Blanche seemed to be thinking along the same lines. I doubted Eiichiro had intended to be rude, but it was a rather tactless question. It seemed, however, that along with myself and Akira, the Kazekage was also entirely behind her. That made three of us, and neither the Raikage nor the Hokage had voiced actual opposition. Indeed, the Hokage had sounded like it was a foregone conclusion.

Another light coating, and i tucked away my lipgloss.
"Lady Blanche is correct. Indeed, i fear her village may have suffered more than any of ours, these past decades, minor or not." I said airily, before turning to face her once more. She looked thoughtful, very composed. Admirable.
"Darling, if i were to forward a question of my own..." I began, toying with my compact mirror, "You told me some time ago of your ambitions, your intentions. With your village restored and your people looking to you for leadership, will anything change? Would gaining this status affect your goals? What will Kusagakure bring to the table as one of us?" I still remembered our conversation. She had been zealous, intense, a tad frightening.

Had she grown even more so, over the years? Was she still convinced of her destiny? I'd always imagined great things from her, even from meeting her so briefly. I did hope she wouldn't grow complacent.

It was strange though. Out of everyone in here, with their influence, and their power, the only allegiance, the only approval i sought, it was her's. On a personal level, i had grown rather fond of Akira, of course, but i didn't seek a union with him, i didn't need a connection with his people or his land. But the lady Blanche, i wanted very much to know her. To understand her. Woman to woman.

"Hmph," I finally retorted after the others had spoken their peace. I had, for the most part, pushed everything else to the back of mind. The only thing that lingered was the Hokage's snide little remark. While I wasn't entirely sure of his angle, I figured he would have learned from the first time that my village bulldozed through his home, leaving nothing in its wake: Kirigakure was not one to be trifled with, whether it be with a sword or a clever tongue.

"Perhaps we are not all allies, but there is no reason for me, personally, to consider any of you an enemy." I tapped a finger against the smooth wooden surface - it sounded like a meteor to me, falling from the heavens and colliding viciously against the planet's face. My features were rigid, my eyes illuminated with a fire that I did well to keep at bay. It was my inheritance, as a ninja of the Mist, you might say.

I leaned forward, practically standing out of my seat. "But, I assure you that if I did consider you my enemy, little Hokage, you and your Hidden Leaf would be the first to know." There was little I could do to mask the menacing smirk that had sprawled across my face. "Do not overestimate your self worth, little one. Simply because you bare the same eyes as the Conqueror does not mean you are anything like him - you are no Kouketsu Uchiha."

Both of my hands were now pressed against the table, the sheer unnatural force behind my body causing my portion of the table to buckle and practically collapse. Though barely visible, there was an aura about me (I'm sure). The luminous glare of m eyes had become more defined and primal, the fabric of my suit incapable of hiding the definition of my body as I tensed. That same presence slowly, but surely, became more tangible -- bubbling at my hands as if it were seeping from my pores, steadily expanding. "However, if you require a demonstration, I would be more than willing to rend your head clean from your body!"

Live or die - the choice was his.

The war of words had begun. In amongst this battlefield of elites, the verbal artillery would begin to fly through the air as if true missiles aimed at each individual who chose to speak. It seemed as though Eiichiro's words had not gone down well with the majority of the group that sat around the table. Guiding his hand through his golden-hair he would listen carefully to the comments that followed his, intently monitoring each word that was said to deduce the actual meaning behind it. It was a skill he was quite versed in, if he was to blow his own trumpet, a skill that came in handy in a situation like the one he found himself in. The ninja which surrounded him were of the most elite in the ninja world, each more than capable of masking their comments with layers upon layers of deceit.

He didn't see this approach as paranoid, he just didn't want to be made to look like a fool. After Eiichiro had finished his piece, the first to chirp in his own thoughts was the Hokage, although not to Blanche first, but to Eiichiro. Addressing his comments he would disagree with what the Raikage had said, instead, inferring that Kumogakure had not witnessed true destruction. Honestly, at that moment, Eiichiro had to bite his lip to stop himself from blasting a comment instantly in the direction of the newly promoted Uchiha. The statement was conceded and deluded, did he have no grey-matter at all? His own village was completely destroyed in the war, along with the devastation of all villages. Sending the Hokage a dirty look, he would ponder on the fact that he was an Uchiha. A growing distaste for the clan was beginning to form for Eiichiro after the encounters he had. It seemed that all of them were trouble...except only for one that he had meet.

However, before he could speak it seemed as though the Mizukage had beaten him too it. The young Uchiha had directed a comment toward him as well, a provocative quip, which obviously the Mizukage took as a direct insult. His hulking status would rise and soon boil with the fury of leader who had much pride in his village. And, in that flicker of a movement, Eiichiro could feel something within him react as the Mizukage did, as if step-for-step, a connection with part of his chakra and the Mizukage's rage. Wha-t why does this keep happening?..whenever I am around him my portion of the beasts chakra connects with him He thought to himself starkly. Trying to suppressing whatever it was he felt he would pitch in his own comments soon after the Mizukage. His tone was sharp and condescending. He was protective of his own village, like they all were.

"I suggest you take a look in your own archives Hokage-sama, all the villages were severely affected by the war. I recommend you get your facts straight before ever mentioning my village again. Tch..is this what replaced Ryūsuke?...what a shame."

Instantly, as if a switch was turned within the Raikage, he would isolate his attention from the Hokage, now - turning it to Blanche. His facial expression, demeanor, and tone would completely change when he addressed her. Her comments were valid, and that is all he wanted from her, validity in her actions. Just as the Hokage had spoke, Eiichiro reflected for a instant, wondering if perhaps the leader of Kusa had taken what he was saying in the wrong light. He could see the increasing flames of scorn which burn't in her eyes as her gaze became fixed on his. He would do the best to fan the flames -as his forest-green orbs meet with hers- he would speak in a much softer and respectful tone, gifting her his fullest and truest consideration.

"Very true, my apologizes Blanche-sama, I didn't mean to speak in a manner which compared the pain of our villages as grounds for promotion. Like I have said, all of our villages felt the devastation of both wars and in no way would I put a level on that. I just compel you to ponder on what it is you truly want. Would this be throwing a toddler in the deep-end of a pool? Kumogakure is completely open to working with you to sustain such a level where you can swim freely..perhaps I just need more convincing that, as of right now, Kusa is ready."

A curt smile would be drawn across his face as he spoke to the leader of Kusa. Gah..I knew you would do this Eiichiro.. he told himself. He often spoke in what others deemed mystifying proverbs and riddled-talk, a nervousness which dulled the perception of his true nature. He hoped that his point came across as clearly as he thought it did. It was times like these that the young Raikage wished he had the guiding hand of the Nidaime to support him. He felt isolated in this room, with these people.

From but a simple coo of words, though much lesser than all the rest, seemed to excite an unnatural energy I’d been waiting to feel – testing the waters so to speak. No one would be able to discern its unnatural aura, and although in the face of death itself I felt even more perplexed at how it seemed to be travelling within my direction. I’d felt it the moment I finished my first sentence, which was directed mainly to the Raikage. The kazekage seemed to have broken the tension somewhat, but still I sat, in awe, wondering as to how they’d both managed to prove my point.

I was the leader of a major nation, and no matter what any of us felt those years ago from the great war – they would not have felt the devastation that Kusagakure no Sato had undergone. There was definitely a difference in the struggle the Kusakage went to in order to be here today, not just from her land being much smaller than the rest of ours, no, but because the army was probably also just as thin.

I would allot somewhat of a chuckle as I concluded their responses. It was appealing. My attention had never left the body of the mizukage however, for it was he I was most concerned with - The successor to one of my kin, Kouketsu Uchiha. Ever since the appearance of the Chouro within the Uchiha Compound those weeks ago, I yearned to know more about the history of the countries of Fire and Water, so I couldn’t allow this opportunity to just pass.

The Current Mizukage; he seemed somewhat aggravated at my statement, and although my words were primarily angled in a mutual standard, I couldn’t help notice the way he seemed to glare at me. Had I already inherited the enemy of my predecessor? Or was this guy just crazy as fuck?

”Do not mistake me for any other in this room Mizukage-Domo..”

I would say within the moment he’d tapped upon the wooden table which boomed with an unnatural presence- it was as if I’d felt chakra surging through the crevices of the table in that very moment. As he leaned forward as would I – it was always appropriate to greet another kage with a bow if he showered you with the same respect.

“But, I assure you that if I did consider you my enemy, little Hokage, you and your Hidden Leaf would be the first to know.”

My eyes of coal would begin to burn red with just as much intensity as his in the very moment he’d declared me Little Hokage.

“Do not overestimate your self worth, little one. Simply because you bare the same eyes as the Conqueror does not mean you are anything like him - you are no Kouketsu Uchiha.”

“Do you think I'd pitty myself with such an emotion?.. Worthiness? Ahah, Worthy of what, exactly?”

As he smiled as would I, as if mirroring his every movement in the instance he stood up. Though I knew of his intentions he had been blinded by my own – and for that I would not forgive him. I had not come to the kage summit for a means of battle, but if he wanted a brawl, then so be it. But as far as things were concerned, I was here to deliver a vote, and I would do just that.

"Kusakage-sama, if I may proceed, I don't mind having you as an ally, but for now..."

I'd say whilst motioning downward back in my seat, keeping my senses attached to the " any and every".. -

"I will remain neutral, as I would suspect you did of me. Nevertheless, you have my vote."

"Well said, Mizukage."

It might have seemed like the wrong place to do so, but I clapped at the presentation the Mizukage had performed so flawlessly. You could tell just by the sheer intensity that hung to his words and actions that he was entirely serious. In a world where everyone was more concerned with keeping peace even with their enemies, it was refreshing to see that I wasn't the only one afraid to take matters into my own hands.

"Deactivate your eyes, Hokage." I had turned to look at him, matching his own intensity despite the fact that my own Sharingan remained dormant. "This is supposed to be a friendly meeting between Kages. If you both wish to kill each other, do it after." Allowing my gaze to rightfully return to Blanche, I smiled.

"The floor is yours."

My attention steadily moved around the table once more as the Tsuchikage began to speak in response to me once more, her own attention undoubtedly enraptured with myself, and yet at the same time enclosed within the metallic cover of a small mirror. Whilst I knew that Coco bore such vain traits as I shared myself, I was unsure what to make of her half-concentrated question as she gazed at herself whilst she spoke. Perhaps I’d grown too soft. However, now from her voice came a question, one that I had to think for a moment or so before replying- What had I told her? My memory wasn’t at its best but I could only remember some details of the first meeting we’d had, where she had channelled a letter towards my direction by an official courier from Iwagakure. At the time I’d thought that it had all been a hoax, but as I found her in her entirety, draped in silks and gemstones, I found it strange. Of course, a lot of back then came hazy to my mind but I forced myself to remember, and I came to the conclusion that there wasn’t all that much to say in response. My main objective back then had been to restore the village itself, and given that that was now complete, I found myself seeking another dream, although the same one from all those years ago seemed to seep back up in to the back of my mind- To find him was something that I aimed to do for almost a decade now, and I wasn’t planning on giving up any time soon. With such dreams made my personal motive, I paused what words could have came from my mouth as I pored over an answer to give the woman. As far as my village concerned, I was sure the entire audience before me had assumed my motive- To uphold Kusagakure and span its horizons to greater extents than the entire shinobi world would have ever thought of it being able to attain. Whilst I had little material to form my work from I made do with whatever I could dig my fingers in to, and with the stakes being high at this very moment I found my body filling with adrenaline – I had to succeed.

I’d managed to lose myself in my thoughts for that slight moment.

A soft turn of the head towards the Tsuchikage, intrusive blue eyes starving her form of its detail.

”..My intentions all lie with Kusagakure and its people, and as far as the table is concerned, with the stability of our village we aim to give as good as any other.”

A smile; sickeningly sweet drew to my lips, but I was speaking the truth. It had been my dream for years to revive the village, and now that it had crawled its way from the hole that it had been left in by its oppressors, it now drove its way back up to the surface, its jagged, blood-strewn claws digging in to any source of stability that it could find in this meagre world. Our time was soon coming and this was only the start. Even simply thinking of such things brought me back to that same time when I’d spoken to the jewel encrusted woman all that time ago. I saw myself much more clearly now, I could process things easier, although at the same time I felt as if it could all be torn away. I was unsure of what to think. However- what land my mind soon drove itself off to was soon moved back as I’d gaze upon the mizukage of whom had begin to speak quite threateningly to the Hokage among the group, obviously having not dismissed the shot that he’d taken against him. Diluting his words in to the air around me; I had more important things to think about rather than muse over the droning of those who as they tore through the atmosphere with their words. It wasn’t as if I didn’t care, but at the same time I didn’t want to show that I supported such fighting at such an event. With Kusgakure very much a neutral nation as it stood, I didn’t want to offend, but at the same time I didn’t give a fuck about the bitch fit that the both of them seemed to be throwing. Taking a seat alongside the others who seemed much more calm towards the subject, I stayed silent, awaiting to be addressed to next by whomever wished to question me in regards to my wishes and intents.

Turning to the Raikage of whom had seemingly gotten involved in the little argument before returning his attention back to me, I listened to him speak, an answer quickly formulating in my mind to respond to him with. ” As a soldier from the old regime, I know what things can come from bad decisions. I aim only to have Kusagakure thrive in the environment of the new world and I promise you..

"I will not fail.”

[/right] I assured him, my blue eyes softly gazed towards himself and his countenance as my hair followed, my right hand instinctively stroking the trail of blonde that led down my shoulder. The leadership at the time of my youth had been reckless- ignorant of the truth and had been enveloped in the economy of the time from what I’d heard of rumours from the elders. I was aware that I could get a bit sidetracked, but my intentions were pure- I wanted the best for my village, and even if we were thrown in to the deep end, I’d gladly swim in and protect it from harm even if it meant bloodying my own hands in the process. I had so many people to care for, and it both terrified me and yet at the same time filled me with self assurance that I’d succeed- after all. They were underestimating me if they thought that the village would grow loose in my hands. Again as I’d suspected, with such agreements having been made with Soratsu in the past, the shadow clone which stood in his place bearing the face of another agreed with me, whilst I’d managed to divert the Hokage’s attention away from his own involvement with the Mizukage towards my own- A yes. It had only been the Raikage that I was to convince, and if he had any doubts, I was more than willing to meet with him once Kusagakure had been named as a major nation. The odds were against his potential rejection as far as the outcome of this meeting would turn out, with four other villages having agreed against his no. Of course, I couldn’t guess the outcome of his own response, but I waited, intent on hearing. Flicking a stray hair of blonde out of the way, I’d acknowledge the comments of both the Kazekage and the Hokage with a soft yet polite nod, before returning my gaze to the rest around me. The Kazekage's clap, along with the newly appointed Kusakage's response to the final volley of inquiries, was overshadowed in the moments that followed shortly after their birth. A slow, almost dramatic, mocking clap rang out through the chamber though no origins could be accurately determined. It seemed to be coming from everywhere at once, bleeding into the massive chamber from what few shadows clung to the furthest corners. It wasn't until, at the last clap, that a figure appeared.

A hand, manifesting from the very air they breathed, passed through the waterfall of golden hair and clamped down on the back of Blanche's neck. She would find herself fully paralyzed by the sheer might of the grip, unable to move as the very force holding her to the floor kept her firmly stuck in place.

The figure that the appendage belonged to was shrouded in ebony robes, his face obscured by a unique mask. What was apparent, however, were the pair of eyes that peered through two of the three holes the pale lavender mask sported-- one was red, a fully evolved Sharingan, and the other grey and distinguished by some odd ripple-like pattern --appraising the Kages before them. Of the five, he knew two of them personally.

"My apologies, but the Kusakage and I have business to discuss," he said smoothly from behind his mask. His attention ambiguously shifted to the Kazekage, though it would have been easy to disregard the motion. He would know, though - from the tone in his voice and the words that were soon to follow.

"As for you, we'll be seeing each other soon. . . Nii-san."

And just like that, with a twisting warp of what appeared to be reality itself, the nameless figure and Blanche vanished.
