Gekimetsu Fuuin (Destructive Sealing)

Special: In order to produce variations of destructive seals, one must first understand the very nature of producing destruction chakra and containing it within a seal. Highest rank known establishes the rank of destructive seals a user may perform. Without this, it is impossible to learn any specific types of Destructive Sealing.
Description: The idea of destructive sealing involves containing a negative, damaging type of chakra within an essence, so that when triggered, the seal unleashes all of this power at once onto whatever has set the seal off.
Domain: Fuuinjutsu.



Uchikesu Fuuin (Negation & Absorption Sealing)

Type: Passive / Fuuinjutsu / General
Special: In order to produce variations of negation and absorption seals, one must first understand the very nature of producing negation and absorption chakra and containing it within a seal. Highest rank known establishes the rank of negation and absorption seals a user may perform. Without this, it is impossible to learn any specific types of Negation & Absorption Sealing.
Description: The idea of negation and absorption sealing involves creating vacuums of chakra that can either absorb a certain a type of energy for the benefit of the Sealist, or shut down a certain function with an opposing force. The idea behind this training is to understand the flow of a preexisting chakra source in order to either enhance it or diffuse it.

Jikuukan Fuuin (Space-Time Sealing)
Rank: D, C, B , A, S
Type: Passive / Fuuinjutsu / General
Special: In order to produce variations of space-time altering seals, one must first understand the very nature of producing space-time chakra and containing it within a seal. Highest rank known establishes the rank of space-time seals a user may perform. Without this, it is impossible to learn any specific types of Space-Time Sealing.
Description: The idea of manipulating space-time involves techniques that allow their users to manipulate the space–time continuum to their will by exerting a specific amount and shape of chakra, all at once in the form of a triggered seal. By manipulating a specific point of space, the user can warp anything targeted into a dimensional void and teleport it to another location instantaneously, or vice-versa. These kinds of seals are rare, and as such, rarely see the light of day due to their capacity and drain on the user.

Fukko Fuuin (Restoration & Boost Sealing)
Rank: D, C, B , A, S
Type: Passive / Fuuinjutsu / General
Special: In order to produce variations of restoration and boosting seals, one must first understand the very nature of producing restorative chakra and containing it within a seal. Highest rank known establishes the rank of restoration & boosting seals a user may perform. Without this, it is impossible to learn any specific types of Restoration & Boosting Sealing.
Description: Restorative and Boosting Sealing allows the Sealist to prepare a seal with a positive effect towards those it influences. Whether restoring ones health via their wounds, or providing them with more sudden chakra, the boost and restoration is made with the intent of saving whomever receives its graces!

Reijuu Fuuin (Enslavement Sealing)

Type: Passive / Fuuinjutsu / General
Special: In order to produce variations of enslavement seals, one must first understand the very nature of producing enslavement chakra and containing it within a seal. Highest rank known establishes the rank of enslavement seals a user may perform. Without this, it is impossible to learn any specific types of Enslavement Sealing.
Description: Enslavement Sealing deals with any seal that produces a form of control upon the one being to have activated it. Strong enough to hold that being against their will, these seals can control many aspects of a victim, from their speech and their memory, to their very thoughts and past. In the hands of the most skilled, armies of eternally devoted followers have been produced at the hands of these seals.

Shouheki Fuuin (Barrier & Prison Sealing)
Rank: D, C, B , A, S
Type: Passive / Fuuinjutsu / General
Special: In order to produce variations of barrier and prison seals, one must first understand the very nature of producing barrier chakra and containing it within a seal. Highest rank known establishes the rank of barrier and prison seals a user may perform. Without this, it is impossible to learn any specific types of Barrier & Prison Sealing.
Description: Producing a barrier or prison in the form of a Seal is not the easiest of tasks to do, requiring the user to master art of producing intricate, entrapping waves of chakra strong enough to overcome the target while still being packeted off in the form of a small seal. If even the slightest part of the incantation is off, there is a chance the prison won't be formed in its true sense.

Reiryoku Fuuin (Spiritual Sealing)

Type: Passive / Fuuinjutsu / General
Special: In order to produce variations of spiritual seals, one must first understand the very nature of producing spiritual chakra and containing it within a seal. Highest rank known establishes the rank of spiritual seals a user may perform. Without this, it is impossible to learn any specific types of Spiritual Sealing.
Description: Like Space-Time sealing, spiritual sealing is one of the rarer forms of sealing, allowing the Sealist whose achieved enough training to unlock the power of mingling spirits beyond the mortal plan into their technique. From beings of energy to judgmental ghosts, these techniques are few and far between, but deservedly so.
Domain: Fuuinjutsu.

I've read through all of this, and then read through each thread with their individual seals, and I'd like to know how the seals that are currently there, rank. I'd also like to know what learning any of these passives actually means, whether that gives us the ability to create our own seals in character without the need of customs (since there's no seal template), or if getting them simply means the seals with the desired effect can now be applied for.

Just trying to see if Fuuinjutsus are a viable path.

What do you mean when you say "how do they rank"? Like, how good are they?

Those passives are basically like per-requisites for learning other seals. If you want to use a seal of a certain type then you have to know the pre-req for it.

So for example, if I want to learn an S-Rank space-time seal, I would have to learn Jikikaan Fuuin up to S-Rank. Once I know it up to S-Rank, I could then IC'ly draw up the seal myself and learn it/use it etc. That's all those passives are for- they're just pre-req techniques.

If you want to make a custom seal then you have to submit it through customs. There should be a template for it, though if there isn't just use the ninjutsu template. If you want examples then check out these seals Masa made.

Is being a sealist viable? Yep, especially if you use good seals/make smart ones.

For me, it's the lack of ANY indication of chakra costs that makes me hesitant to invest in them. There are five ranks and four chakra costs. We have D,C,B,A,S and Low, Mid, High, Massive. So do we assign D to low, C to Mid, B to High and A/S with Massive.
Aside from that, I like the concept, very freeing.

The passive techniques are just that, passive. They don't come with a chakra cost to use, it's basically knowledge for the PC to have. Like drawing (Li clan aside), you wouldn't use chakra to read.

That being said, all seal techniques (the ACTUAL seals themselves) will tell you what the cost is to place it on an object.

Fuuka Houin (Elemental Sealing Method)
Rank: D, C, B, A, S
Type: Supplementary / Absorption Fuuinjutsu
Range: See special!
Handseals: Yes
Chakra: Same as sealed technique [to place] / Low [to activate]
Special: This method can only seal an elemental technique of equal or lower rank to the user's known rank of Fuuka Houin. The vapor can travel a distance of 10 meters from the scroll, therefore only a technique that is within 10 meters from it can be sealed inside.
Description: The user unravels a scroll and writes the needed sealing incantation upon it, leaving a space in the center blank. After performing the needed handseals, vapor appears from the scroll and envelops the element that the user is trying to seal, sucking it inside. The kanji for seal (封) appears in the center, certifying the technique's completion. To activate the scroll at a later time, the user imbibes the scroll with a Low amount of chakra and breaks the seal. The sealed element is then released, perfect for circumventing damage from a dangerous enemy.
Domain: Fuuinjutsu. Shikoku Fuuin of equal rank. Uchikesu Fuuin of equal rank.

I just told you the seals are being revamped. Over half the canon ones are complete now, so of course they're not up yet.

However, I do think I will post up the ones that are completed now since there's so much interest in them.
