Special: When first learned, the user knows the exact location within the current thread. When retrained, the user can detect its exact location within the same country, and then the second time retrained it can be detected accurately from anywhere in the world.
Description: The shiki, or rite, of the Jibun no Jiko technique. This seal must be placed in a matched pair; one seal goes on the user's body, and another goes on a weapon of their choosing. Creating the seal only takes a small amount of chakra, and once done, the user is passively aware of the location and condition of the sealed weapon at all times. These matched seals are necessary to create the link for the Jibun no Jiko technique.

Special: The user and their chosen weapon must first be marked with the Jibun no Jiko Shiki. Can increase the weapon's offensive or defensive properties up to the user's highest rank in this technique. Each such attack or defense with the weapon enhanced in this way costs a new use of chakra.
Description: A spiritual sealing technique, Jibun no Jiko first requires that the user and the chosen weapon possess a matched pair of seals. Once this is done, by forming the hand seals, the user can transmit a piece of their own soul into the chosen weapon, giving it supernatural properties. When this technique is active and the user is soul-bonded to the weapon, the user can funnel chakra into the weapon at will, increasing either its offensive or defensive properties proportionally for a single attack or defense.

Description: As an extension to the Jibun no Jiko technique, the user can funnel chakra into their soul-bonded weapon, using it to create a chakra blade that extends from the initial weapon's length by up to two metres. This blade possesses the natural offensive and defensive prowess of the weapon, and is considered to be part of the weapon during the Jibun no Jiko technique.

My problem is, exactly what's the difference in the Jibun no Jiko (One's Own Self) and the Jikokakachou (Self Extension) to the point where the latter jutsu doesn't require hand seals?

Well, it depends what you mean. The activation of Jibun no Jiko, where a part of the soul is imbued in the weapon, requires hand-seals. After the soul-bond is activated, hand seals are not required to funnel chakra into it, because its essentially a part of the user. Same reason why Jikokakachou doesn't need seals.
