NOHIRE,AHRAGA
"kings are, in the moral order, what monsters are in the natural"
"kings are, in the moral order, what monsters are in the natural"
Terrible to behold, the demon-like features that stand as his most well defined characteristics serve only to enhance the long-standing Nohire Clan reputation for producing pure evil. He is absent the tell-tale blue skin of most of his species. The tiny layers of overlapping teeth that coat his flesh have taken the same brownish-red hue as the unknown beast that created him. . .
PERSONALITY PROFILE
⇢ He is secretive and aloof, observant, a young man of few words who prefers analysis to brash action and regards everything with the contemplative reserve of a priest. He finds forming personal bonds of attachment tedious and largely unnecessary, and while aware of the tactical advantage allies may grant on the battlefield, Ahraga will not depend on the assistance of others. He operates well in a team setting only because he does not care enough to disobey orders, this is not a blind dedication to authority nor a reliance on the capability of those in charge; he will perform as can be reasonably expected and in accordance with the presented chain of command so long as obeisance will not result in compromising his own well-being. It could be called selfishness, but that would require some acknowledgement of the worth of the existence of others, and it is uncertain whether or not Ahraga truly believes anyone else is there. He sees into and through others. He is a silent judge, a philosopher, an objectivist, and a loner.
He is motivated by curiosity, and an innate and savage sense of self preservation. Odd for one who doesn't value life in an intrinsic or generalized sense, but explainable when one considers the single-minded ferocity of Hoshigake logic. Brutally efficient, cautious, intuitive, and concerned primarily with survival, altruism is a concept both foreign and ridiculous. While he can fulfill a mission to protect, he will not go out of his way to do anything that does not grant him some eventual benefit. He is a forward thinker, and as 'unnatural' a tactician as one might find, often developing one unorthodox solution after another with dizzying speed and the cold calculating intelligence of an individual broken free of the frenzy.
Morality becomes...difficult to pinpoint within the broken mind of one such as Ahraga. What makes him an excellent candidate for shinobi training is the same callous dedication to his own well-being that makes predicting his behavior near impossible. Right and wrong...good and evil...to him these can only ever be words, inadequate, considered foolish and outdated, the remnants of those who seek power only through displays of strength. Ahraga is already strong. He seeks knowledge. He desires skill and experience. The threat of conflict is constant; he will kill without remorse or mercy, but he views the act of killing as a normal man might view walking or eating. It is something simple enough, that must occasionally be done. He has no overtly barbaric or murderous intent. He simply doesn't care.
There are hidden depths and layers, a startling architecture of buried base instincts, corridors and collapsed hallways of thought where harsh memories lay covered beneath the ruins of old trauma, but what could bring them to light? All those who meet him, who stand in his presence...they can feel it. A barely restrained...evil. He is like some great disconnected shadow within which lives only what can thrive in the dark, a subtle cruelty, a reaction to something unspeakable and terrifying and closed off. If he had friends...if he understood friendship as something other than an abstract delusion spurned on by weakness and fear...then perhaps he might discuss it. But he has no friends, and wants none, and remains silent.
He considers science a passion...but true science, uncomfortable as he is with the ninja 'arts' he's only recently become accustomed to. He thrives on controllable results, tests, more tests...he wishes to understand his effect on the world, to expand or diminish that effect through methods that can be repeated in other places by other seekers of knowledge. Without the inherent ability to generate healing chakra, he has nevertheless become familiar with homeopathic study, herbs and organic animal based compounds, though cures are not his main focus...nor are poisons. He thinks of limitations...boundaries...how to exceed them and mold them to his own purpose.
What that purpose is, only Ahraga seems to truly understand.
