Personality::
LOYAL
Loyalty is the one thing that Katsuro holds highest above all else. Loyalty to his village, his Kage and his family but above all the bonds forged in the heat of battle and tempered by the spilling of shared blood are scared to this shinobi. Those who have fought by his side know that Katsuro would not think twice about endangering himself to protect those he feels this bond with. As a by product of this Katsuro does not suffer traitors or betrayal…
UNFORGIVING
Katsuro is one who knows how to bear a grudge. As far as he is concerned redemption comes at a price equal to the sin and until that price has been paid expect no quarter or forgiveness from this young shinobi. If he feels that anyone has endangered or betrayed him or his friends they will feel his wrath and he will dispatch it with all of his might…
CUNNING AND RUTHLESS
When Katsuro puts his energies towards a task he becomes cunning and utterly ruthless. The strategies that he employs are usually extremely devious and executed without a second thought. As such he can become quite the formidable opponent…
SOCIABLE
Katsuro is one who enjoys the company of others. Being a part of his village is a big thing for him and he likes to know those who he could be standing next to in the heat of battle. Being quite the passionate amateur chef he enjoys sharing his talents with his team mates…
CALM
Katsuro is a keen practitioner of meditation and is not one to get flustered easily. He knows the importance of keeping a clear head and so that he can notice, process and react to changes in his environment. Bad food, however, is something that he can be quite short tempered about…
Appearance::
Head
Katsuro wears his distinctive blue hair in an equally distinctive spiked style. His face is unmarked by blemishes and he still possesses the soft, childish features of youth. This iris’ of his eyes are nearly a matching black to that of his pupils. Another distinguishing characteristic is his short, upturned nose that he swears is responsible for what he calls his ‘infallible sense of smell’…
Attire
Katsuro wears a loosely fitted, sleeveless black top that exposes the star tattoo on his shoulder. His top also has a high neck the extends up to his chin around the base of which he ties his forehead protector with the ends of it trailing behind him almost giving the illusion of a scarf. His pants are three quarter length and black, with grey trimming around the hems. Katuro hates tightly fitted clothing because he feels that it restricts his movement and is just generally uncomfortable. Because of his experience in the Land of Rain Katsuro hates wet feet and has forgone the traditional Shinobi sandals and instead wears enclosed black shoes with white toes emblazoned with the same star design tattooed on his shoulder.
General Appearance
Not tall or short, Katsuro is wiry and built for endurance and speed. His skin is lightly tanned and his shoulder is tattooed with the design of a star. He carries himself with confidence and the flame of determination burns in his eyes. His only real outstanding physical feature is his blue hair which he takes perhaps a bit too much vain pride in arranging into the outlandish spiked ‘do’ that he sports on a daily basis…

Katsuro’s Version
I used to love the rain. Something about the sound of rain always used to relax me, like somehow it was a message that all was right in the world…
I was born in Kirigakure and from that day my future was set in stone; I would be a Shinobi of the Kirigakure. My father served with honour as did his father before him and so on back as far as anyone can remember. My mother was a Kiri-Nin as well, a Shinobi who specialised in medical treatments, a position that is highly valued in the field. I, however, inherited my father’s Kekkai Touta, a highly effective offensive skill so even if I had wanted to I wouldn’t have been able to follow in her footsteps.
People tell me my father was a great man, a Shinobi of the Kirigakure worth emulating. He was strong, proud and honourable and in the field completely ruthless. My mother was the soft touch that calmed him, or so I’m told. She was gentle, a rare trait for those that herald from our village, and seemed the perfect counterpart for my father. She was taken from us when I was young, betrayed by someone in whom she was supposed to trust. My father did the honourable thing and sort revenge. He was always a bit distant, like he was never sure what to do around me or how to interact. He cared, took interest in my wellbeing and the development of my skills but could never seem to find a way to connect. He was a hard man and I guess he could never quite figure it out, how to open himself up but remain strong. He died as well, another casualty of the Great Shinobi War.
I endured the brutal training of the Academy. I proved myself a capable ninja and after three years was elevated to the rank of Genin. The Great Shinobi War was in full swing by then so each village needed as much fighting power as they could muster.
I used to love the rain…
I was assigned to a team with two other Genin who, like myself, were fresh out of the Academy. We were led by Akira Nobu, a young Chunnin and assigned out first mission. We were to infiltrate the Land of Rain and relay tactical intelligence back to the village. That land in cold, hard and covered in an eternal down pour. Everything went wrong from the moment we crossed the boundary into that forsaken land. No matter what we did to hide ourselves it seemed like the Ame Shinobi always knew where we were, when to strike us. They let us get deep enough into their territory that we couldn’t retreat and for months we were hunted like rabbits, fighting tooth and nail for our very survival.
Takun, another of the Genin, was the first to fall; killed before any of us knew we had even been set upon. One moment he was there and the next he was staring at the hole in his chest as if idly wondering where it had come from. We survived that encounter, barely, and many more like it. It seemed as though the Ame-Nin were at every turn, like they knew where we were going. Eventually we learned from a captured Genin that the Shinobi of the Amegakure had learned a technique that allowed them to track the presence of anyone who was under where their rain fell. Like I said, I used to love the rain…
It took us months of hiding and running in the torrential down pour before we reached relative safety. We lost Akira Nobu in an engagement just before left the rain behind, just on the border of the Land of Rain. He sacrificed himself so that we could fall back and inform our village of what we had learned. Ayame, the other surviving Genin, succumbed to horrible wound she had suffered before we reached the Kirigakure which left me.
I served with other teams, fought alongside and against many Shinobi. Then it ended, the Great Shinobi War was over, leaving devastation and death in its wake and now I find myself wondering what the future will hold for our village and what part I will play in it…

Official Report on Shinobi 204562
CLASSIFIED
Subject Name: Katsuro Mido
Subject Age: 12
In accordance with your wishes I have compiled a report on Katsuro Mido, Shinobi Registration Number 204562, and his competence to serve in the capacity of Genin of the Village Hidden in the Mist.
Katsuro is the only child of Kojiro Mido, Jounin of the Kirigakure and possessor of the Ranton Kekkai Touta, and Emiko Mido, Chuunin and Medical-Nin of the Kirigakure (both deceased). Many within our village would recognise the name of Kojiro Mido for he had distinguished himself in the service of the Kirigakure. Revered as a highly effective killer amongst his peers, one of the most notorious stories surrounding him was the hunt and disposal of Miyamoto Raiko, an ‘S’ ranked Missing-Nin of our village.
Miyamoto Raiko was a Jounin who had been placed in charge of a newly formed Team 8 at the beginning of this conflict, now known as the Great Shinobi War, the members of which included Emiko Mido. During the course of their first mission together they were betrayed to the Amegakure by Miyamoto Raiko who killed his new team mates and fled towards the Land of Rain. Through petitioning directly to the then Mizukage, Kojiro Mido gained permission to leave immediately and unaided in pursuit of Raiko. The events that transpired in the seven weeks that it took for Kojiro to track down Raiko and return remain a mystery as Kojiro never spoke of them. He was successful in finding Raiko and reported that complete disposal of the body was completed. However from the expression of absolute horror and pain that was frozen onto Raiko’s face when Kojiro returned with his head many believe that the long process for proper disposal of the body took place while Raiko was still breathing.
After returning from this mission Kojiro was a changed man. While never the most open and warm of father figures his relationship with his son, then only 9 years old, became more strained. From the information that I have gathered from those who were close to the family, Kojiro became more distant. Official mission reports state the Kojiro became more slowly became more reckless, exposing himself to unnecessarily dangerous situations. Kojiro has been one of the many casualties claimed by this Great War.
Seemingly following in his late father’s footsteps Katsuro has distinguished himself at the Academy. Like his father before him Katsuro possesses the Ranton Kekkai Touta which, with further training, will make him an extremely effective offensive asset. Katsuro has shown himself a capable practitioner of both Suiton and Raiton Ninjutsu however he has also shown a greater affinity for knife fighting. With more conditioning he could turn out to be an effective Taijutsu practitioner. Katsuro has also shown that he is more than capable of working effectively in a team and seems to be well liked and respected amongst his fellow students.
In conclusion while under less hostile and tense circumstances than we find ourselves in now I would recommend that he be allowed to further hone his skills before throwing him into the heat of battle it is the opinion of this investigator that Katsuro Mido is more than capable of serving in the capacity of Genin to the Kirigakure and further that he be utilised as a long range support or close combat specialist if assigned to a team.
