The weather is quite gloomy, with rain clouds overhead and a constant drizzle. So far, the fallowing are present: Korasawa, Akemai and Shinobu. This thread is open to other users. [ENTER] May ducked past the guards who didn't seem to care about some little girl. Grunting at the thought, she continued onward into the highly vegetated trail. The sky had gone from bright and sunny, to dull and grey. The weather always seemed to mirror her emotions. The pouring rain had shifted into a drizzle, but the trail was almost dry due to the tall, feathering trees that created a canopy above her head. She knew exactly where to go, and although May was definitely not someone who would dwell on the past, she thought that her old home needed to be visited sometime soon. For Shinobu, patrolling the forests of Konoha was normal. Abused by the head family, the teen's patrols were expected to continue, no matter what the weather was like. As of such, Shinobu trudged around in the rain, not entirely effected by it. After all... rain made good cover for patrolling. It would be hard to track the Hyuuga, and thanks to the Byakugan, Shinobu could see in all directions.

This ability, in and of itself, created an interesting situation. Having passed the city gates not long before, Shinobu would note the movement of a single creature coming from that same direction. Observing for several moments, it seemed like the person was trying to be stealthy... or at least, trying to partially hide their presence. Due to this, Shinobu would quickly take to the trees, slipping into the shadows to let this person slip ahead. When they passed, Shinobu would trek after them, following along behind.

The Hyuuga was going to get to the bottom of this...

She had nothing to keep her the slightest bit warm, she just hoped that the place she was heading for would be better, but would she even be able to stay there very long? The hair on the back of May's neck stood up and a shiver passed through her body. "Must be the cold." she mumbled, glancing behind her to be paced with an empty trail. Exactly how it was back then. She paused at the spot, staring down blank trail. She could see herself screaming and running down the same trail she was on, she could feel the warm blood on her hands, on her face. Shuddering May turned back the other way, trying to push the picture out of her head. But if she thought this was bad she couldn't even imagine what it'd be like to visit her old home. She could turn around right now, she wanted to, to forget about everything. But the way things were going she'd get sick if she weren't inside soon, and her home was closer than the village. Sighing she continued onward, keeping her eyes on the ground in front of her; she would recognize everything if she didn't. Her hand were trembling, from the cold or utter pain she did not know, but it obviously wasn't a good sign. "I'm close." She whispered to reassure herself. "Really close." The ground beneath her slowly merged into patches of grass, something she recognized. Raising her head, May's eye fell upon a small cottage in the distance, made of ancient molding logs. She almost smiled at the memories she had at this place. Letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding, May kept walking forward, the house getting bigger with every step. There wasn't a whole lot for Shinobu to do besides observe this person. They weren't doing anything exceptionally shady, really. So confronting them was rather unnecessary at the time. Instead, the Hyuuga would trail the girl, following her a bit of a ways away. Shinobu was using the surroundings to their advantage. Keeping up in the trees, coupled with the noise of the rain kept the shinobi stealthed, and with the Byakugan, they could further conceal their presence by trailing further behind than some would, being able to see quite far, and through things.

It would become apparent that the girl was not prepared for this sort of weather. The subtle vibrations of her form hinted that she was cold... really cold. Unless she was trying to commit suicide out here, that meant she knew where she was going... and it was close by. Shinobu's thoughts proved true, as before too long a little cottage would show itself to the Hyuuga.

Eyes would scan the place, abandoning the girl for a mere moment, but found nothing really special, or out of the ordinary. What, then, was this girl's purpose? Shinobu's curiosity would peak, and they would formulate a plan of interaction with the girl. How it really would go down, though, was based on what she did when she got to the house...

Forcing all negative thought out of her head, May started to hum something familiar to her. She was loosing her sanity. Soon she was staring at rotten, wooden steps with barley any support. She eased up them slowly, refusing to look ahead of her, but she knew where she was since the rain had stopped hitting her neck. Skipping the doorway, May's eyes settled to the cover above her, the wooden boards looked uneasy and loose. Shuddering, she forced herself to the door, it's wood dry admits the weather. Something caught her eye and she drew her glance downward, where multiple, random carvings nicked the bottom of the door. A heating anger rose up in her and she kneels for a better look, pressing her hand against one. Her stomach was beginning to turn, so she stood back up and forced her eyes shut. Breath, May. She took several, heavy breaths, trying to ignore the tears running down her cheeks. It was in that moment that she realized her arms were now shaking, not shuddering. Shaking it off, or at least trying to shake it all off, May pushed past her feelings and reached for the doorknob, twisting and pushing. She was welcomed with a cloud of dust and found herself coughing while shoving the door shut. Warmth. It wasn't too much warmer, but compared to the iciness she had just felt it was a start. Inside the lighting was poor, darkness haunted her and she was tempted to run back into the rain. Instead she stood there, staring at the wall ahead of her. It should have been filled with pictures of the memories May loved to remember, but instead a spider had made it's home there and was now making the wall something to be disgusted with. Turning to her right, May found herself walking through an open doorway and into a small, tiled kitchen. Multiple pieces of glass or ceramics were flung about the floors, creating a frustrating maze for May to pass through as she went for the matches. Kneeling down in front of the sink, may fumbled in the cabinet below for the spare matches they had kept. Her hands slid across a small rough box and she snatched it, holding it up in the dim light she had. "Alright, let's make a fire." She tramped back into the entryway and glanced out the dirty window, a sight she had seen too often. Her eyes scanned the forest, only to find nothing and turn back to her destination. Moving into the living room May found that the furniture was all still there, just over powered by dust. Coal crumbles were laying in the fireplace in front of her and it took May a few seconds to realize she didn't have any wood. Cursing under her breath she turned back to the entryway, attempting to go upstairs. She needed to hurry, her arms were not getting violent. OOC: Kaay, sorry for late replay! 'Run down' would be an understatement for the little cabin. Shinobu had followed along behind the girl, eventually making it up to the front porch after she'd gone inside. First and foremost, their x-ray vision would scan over the building, looking for something, or anything out of place. Of course, even while looking around, Shinobu's gaze was kept rather broad, making sure that the girl wasn't up to anything funny.

As it was, it seemed she was searching for something... The box of matches, and Shinobu gave a nod. A fire was a good place to start if she planned on staying. With how cold it must have been, her getting sick was likely if she didn't get warm. However, she lacked an essential item for that plan... wood. Shinobu released a quiet snort in place of a laugh, rather amused by how this was playing out.

However, the Hyuuga didn't plan on staying out in the cold too long, either. Before the girl could make it up the steps, Shinobu would lift an arm, and then hammer on the door. They waited a few seconds, and then made sure to knock again, signifying that there was, indeed, someone at the door. Eyes were fixed upon the girl while Shinobu waited, hoping that they weren't making a mistake...

Shinobu hadn't really wanted to be detected following the girl, but... At the same time, traversing about in the rain, or sneaking into the house and being discovered, or letting their presence become known unexpectedly didn't sound too good, either.

She hated how rain sounds on this roof, always too close and too loud. Half way up the stairs, a loud knocking sounded behind her. She froze, heart jumping. Maybe it was her imagination? No, it sounded again. Three, even, loud knocks. She couldn't help from shivering and slowly turned around. The window above the door was covered with mold but she could almost make out a dark figure. . "What the hell?" She said under her breath, reaching under her sopping clothes and pulling out a dripping kunai. She eased twords the door, her steps creaking on the floor boards. She slipped her hand on the door knob and pulled, a gust of cold air filling her lungs. She had a huge urge to shud it back again, but she kept it open and strained to see through the rain. There definitely was someone there, a small. . person, there body completely covered with clothing. It looked like it was wearing a straight jacket. Shivering May ducked her head down out of the rains grasp and turned to the mask kid. She parted her lips to speak, but nothing came out. What is she supposed to say? Shinobu would watch, the girl freezing in her tracks. Just as the Hyuuga suspected, she would start making her way to the door. She withdrew a kunai... hostile, yet unsurprising. Shinobu made sure to take a single step back, far enough that this girl would not be able to simply stab the teen once the door was opened. However, she didn't act out immediately, opening the door and peeking out.

"What the hell are you doing here?" the girl would growl. Shinobu considered her a moment. She didn't seem to be... hiding. So she must have had clearance of some sort. If she had been doing something she shouldn't have, she likely wouldn't have answered the door. Still, Shinobu meant to investigate her...

"I could ask you the same thing," Shinobu would retort, white eyes glowing somewhat in the darkness. They seemed rather... passive about being addressed in such a rude manner. Another few seconds, Shinobu stood, and waited. Then they spoke again, a slightly amused tone in their voice.

"Where are your manners, anyways? Aren't you going to invite me in? It's pretty damn cold out here..."

She tried to glare at it, but instead she ended up squinting into the night. Sighing she turned away, cherishing the small amount of warmth that lay inside the house. “I could ask you the same thing,” The. . person, paused before speaking gain. What she was doing there? Why would it care. . May couldn’t tell what gender it was by the voice and she started to get jumpy, was it even human? It’s reply made her think it definitely was, what type of demons would swear anyways? “Where are your manners, anyways? Aren't you going to invite me in? It's pretty damn cold out here.” Paranoia starting to jumble her thoughts, May scowled at it. She really wouldn’t be able to get rid of it, so did she have a choice? Grumbling she turned away from the door and stalked towards the stairs, leaving the door open, and motioning for it to come inside. “Close the door.” She said, turning to the stairs and stumbling up them. She welcomed the heat upstairs, and turned back to see if it was inside. “And stay down stairs.” She swerved around the railing to the stairs and stalked into the hallway, glancing at the doors. Usually she would be much more hesitant about letting someone she didn’t know inside, but her good senses seemed to be fading in the cold condition she was in. Not good. Walking down the hallway she paused at one door, more marks were on this piece of wood but these were intentional, small hearts May remembers making. She reached out for it, about to brush her fingers on the handle before pulling away. Her expression darkening she walked forward, past the other doors until she was at the end and facing a wall. She moved her eyes to the celling where four seems formed the shape of a square; a long string drifted above her nose and she took it, pulling down. A loud creaking noise sounded and the hatch fell down, leaving a cloud of dust in May’s coughing face. “Ecck.” She choked on her words and turned away, her eyes watering. “Gross.” After containing herself she reached to her eyes and smothered her face in her sleeve. Blinking away tears, May turned to face the hatch again. Looking up she could see a square of darkness, something that wasn’t very inviting. Suck it up. “Close the door.” A given, but the girl seemed irritated already. She didn't seem like the very friendly type, but... Shinobu was kind of used to that, shrugging it off and following her back into the little cottage, and then shutting the door behind. There was no real need to look around, as the Hyuuga had seen all there was to see already, so they'd simply crouch down by the door, assuming an odd stance. Arms rested upon the being's knees... a bit creepy, truly.

“And stay down stairs.”

"Was planning on it," Shinobu would retort, a slightly amused tone in their voice. As the girl disappeared upstairs, Shinobu would watch, waiting silently. At least, silently until the girl caught a face full of dust. The Hyuuga laughed, albeit quietly, muting the sound by pressing their face into their sleeve. Sure, it felt a little wrong to laugh at another's misfortune, but the girl had an attitude, and she'd brought it on herself.

She nearly had to crouch over when she stood up. The small room was dark, and had a horrible spoiled smell. The air lurking around her was damp, and she wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. A small window on her left-hand side gave little light, considering it was iced over and rusty. It was the same window she watched her father get beaten in. Slowly, trying not to make too much noise, May slaughtered over to the corner next to the rotten window. Reaching out her hands found multiple pieces of wood, instantly grasping on every solid surface. She stood there for a moment, both hands out in front of her, lying on top of the wood, feelings her hands be tickled by the rough wood edges. The room was so familiar, almost more familiar than the entire house, and made her feel comforted – yet terrified. She didn’t want to think about things that happened in this house, but her mind kept drifting back to the way her parents were killed. You’d think that being so young, she wouldn’t have remembered every single detail of her mother and father’s killings, but the picture were still clear in her mind, and the method used to kill them couldn’t be more crisp. Pulling her arm back, May placed a piece of wood under her right armpit, clamping down to hold in it place. She grabbed another, and another, until she had some good sized six pieces of wood all towered in her hand. Stumbling towards the exit, she stared down in the hole, wondering how she would get down. She considered setting the wood down and jumping through first, but she quickly decided against the idea and thrust her arms outward, releasing the wood from her hands. It toppled down on top of each other and made a loud thudding noise, almost making May flinch. Stiffening at the sight of the person chuckling to itself. She held back her rage and slumped down the stairs, pushing past the person and walking quickly into the living room where she threw the wood on the floor. The chill came back over her and made her give a slight shiver, cringing under the bitter cold that always seemed to get her. In the dark it was hard to see anything other than shapes, but May managed to get down to the fireplace and set several pieces of the wood she’d collected, into a nice tepee-like form. Almost smirking at her “masterpiece”, she took another breath before reaching into her pocket and shuffling the matchbox into her hands. Carefully, she selected one of the three matches left and struck it against the box. A flame ignited and the glow from it reflected off her face, the pasty old walls, and the moldy floor boards. It casted a light that pulled the entire room into a florescent glow, sending shivers up May’s neck. She moved her hand forward, letting the fire lick the dry wood. A small flare emerged and started to ripple, casting swirled shadows on the floor in front of the fireplace. She tossed the remained of the match into the fire, and kneeled in front of it until the whole thing was blazing, making cracking noises that filled May with imaginary warmth. The real warmth, that was coming off of the fire itself, filled May’s body and relaxed her muscles, allowing her to sag her shouldered and tilt her head back. She glanced back at the boy she had let in minutes ago, and hesitated before speaking to him. “Come over here so I can get a better look at your. .” She hesitated, not knowing what to call its face area. Not wanting to offend it she hurried the rest of her sentence, hoping he hadn’t noticed. “Face.” She motioned for it to come closer, waving her hand frantically. OOC: Sorry it took sooooo loooonnnnggg to post, school just started and I’m taking AP classes. Really tough. As the girl gathered her wood up in the attack Shinobu continued to watch, the lifeless grey eyes of the Hyuuga piercing through anything in its sight. However, when the girl began her descent, Shinobu would finally allow those eyes to rest, the chakra flowing to them retreating and settling back within the teen's body. It was rather strange, really, to alter their sight in such a significant manner. Whereas the house had been so "bright" before, now Shinobu could hardly see anything.

May would pass by the Hyuuga on her way down, her face now nearly invisible to the Konoha-nin, which caused Shinobu to smirk all the more. How much less could one really tell without the Byakugan? Being able to miss the slightest of expressions due to the dark... missing movements, and even not being able to see things beyond walls. Truly, that gift of sight was something terrifying... a powerful gift to those born into the Hyuuga clan.

Shinobu would muse silently as May went about making the fire. They didn't feel it necessary to aid in any way, should they be able to aid at all. Shinobu knew about their fire-alignment, but had never been given the opportunity to practice any Katon-element techniques. There was nothing more the teen could do to make a fire than the girl was already doing. As of such, they would merely wait until the logs caught fire, warmth and light spreading throughout the room.

“Come over here so I can get a better look at your... face." Shinobu's brow would rise, hidden by the mask attached to their hoody. A light scoff would come from the shinobi, and then they would shake their head. Frozen for a moment, Shinobu contemplated, and then decided that removing the mask wouldn't matter much. So it was that an arm would rise, bandaged hand slipping out from the sleeve and unclasping the orange covering.

"It's a mask," Shinobu would explain as the first clasp was undone. "There's not much to see for my face, really... and don't expect anything extraordinary," they would continue, the second clasp coming undone, and the mask finally pulled away. Much like the hand, Shinobu's face was covered by bandages, only one of their eyes visible. One of those, cold, grey eyes of the Hyuuga family.

Even from so far away, the dim light was enough to show these things. Shinobu did not wish to go too much closer to the female... and they were fairly certain that she would not mind the distance between them.

Something about it was just so mysterious and creepy, something May hadn’t experience in a very long time. “It’s just a mask,” it finally managed a few words, and brought it’s hand to its face. There, it hesitated before unclasping one of the first buckles. “There's not much to see for my face, really” The pause made May weary and she quickly had the feeling she didn’t want to see what was beneath the mask, but May was too curious for her own good and pushed her feelings away, leaning forward in suspense. “And don't expect anything extraordinary.” With the second buckle undone the mask began to tumbled forward in the things hands, and the orange glow of the fire gave May enough light to see just what the person was hiding. Its face was completely bandaged, except for a thin strip where its eyes lay. One was grey, and May instantly knew what it way. Obviously, this thing was a Hyuuga. But a different one at that, since only one of its eyes was grey. The other was hidden behind another strip of bandages, unseen to May’s average eyes. Nothing was entirely scary about it, its eye wasn’t demonic or stressed, and it was almost soft and comforting. May wanted to reach out and touch where the bandages lay, but instead she chewed down on her lip. The things identity was really bothering her, so she cocked her head to the side and scrunched her face up. “Okay, I know what your face looks like.” she wanted to add on a “sorta’” or a “kinda’” but something like that would only be looked at as rude, instead she peered into the one visible eye. “But who are you really?” As soon as she said it she felt stupid. Utterly, dangerously stupid. She hadn’t even asked the thing what’s its name was or where it was from, and she let it into her house? Correction: her old house, she didn’t live here anymore. May wanted to curse her out several times once she came to this reality, this. . thing, could have been a mass murderer or spy, and she just let it in? Now feeling quite irate, May had an urge to slug the person in front of her across the face, but something was yelling at her not to, so she eased herself. Something was there, not just an extinct but a fact. It was a Hyuuga. Of course, that’s how it was able to rack and find her.
