She had no time to react, no energy to counter with, no chance of living. With Hotarubi's chokuto entering the side of the girl, in between her ribs, Hotarubi knew she was finished. Blood poured out and onto the ground, staining it red with her blood. The sight was something Hotarubi had never witnessed firsthand, it was death. Compelled to watch the girl till the very end, Hoatrubi never let her eyes off of the dying child as she bled away, her skin turning paler and her breathing irregular. With her last bit of energy, the girl had raised her hand attempting to grab the sun. Extending her own hand Hoatrubi grasp hold of Saori's cold, clammy hand.

Letting go the girls hand fell to her own chest and Hotarubi, glided her palm over her face, closing the girls eyes. The scene almost brought tear to her eyes as she picked the girl up, tearing a piece off her clothing to stop the bleeding. Although it was too late for her to live, she could be seen by her loved ones within her village the proper way. The girl didn't go down without a fight, that much was evident by their battleground, it was admirable, this girl who Hoatrubi had thought wouldn't put up a fight had contested the Kirasshu of Konoha to the edge of her abilities.

It took but a moment for her to realize someone was watching them and he'd risen from the shadows asking if she was gonna loot the body. The dead had no use for such things, but it felt wrong however it would be better for things not to go to waste. "You can have whatever I don't want, got it?" Hoatrubi would take a few moments to go through her belongings, only taking what she could use.

Hotarubi felt a sense of accomplishments, for what she had learned although she wasn't excellent offensive wise the girl was regarded for her skill, something that couldn't be taken away. Fixing her properly over her shoulder Hotarubi would have give the body to Kumogakure shinobi for her payment, but that was a task for later, now it was time to leave this place, before any of her comrades would show up. Hoatrubi didn't have enough energy to take them on, so she'd take her leave. Although her movements were slower than usual she'd fair fine in escaping.
