Wandering the countryside [open]

Having fallen behind Yuuza, I found myself lost within the expansive lush of Hi no Kuni's countryside. I wasn't too worried about not keeping up with my travel partner Yuuza-the man I'd met while running from Kumogakure. He was busy and I suppose I was but still a child, so I let him go off, without too much a thought, and instead sought out to fill my hungering curiosity. My bright sapphire eyes were wide in amazement of the various plant and wild life that resided here. Soon, however; I found myself lost within the towering trees, the sun was blocked up, barricaded by the canopy of green that rested high above.

"Pretty!" I couldn't help but say, still sanding in awe of Hi no Kuni's beauty. It was such a tranquil place, quiet, whilst musical-the sounds of the earth whispering their bewitching songs unto the earth. Maybe that was why the trees were so large, twisting and stretching outwards until their tips seemingly pierced the heavens above. It was just a thought I had as I continued walking, until finally I found myself within a clearing, where the grass did not grow, the canopy above did not reach, so the ground was speckled with shimmering amber as I spun around looking. The soil was soft beneath my lithe footsteps, the air was crisp, ripe with a most intoxicating scent.

"Such a beautiful place"

Continuing to wander about, I had not realized that I was straying a ways from where Yuuza might have though me ti be, I was far too fascinated with this place to give it a thought. Poking and touching the vivid, vibrant plants I found myself examining them with driven interest I was lost within the scope of time, minutes rolled by until my interest faded and I looked upwards, a yawn escaping my lips. "I wonder how much time has passed, I should get back to Yuuza." Walking the way I came, my feet seemingly sank into the soft earth, leaving imprints; however I was oblivious to this. With the sun still out and the day still young I was on my way to him, that was if I could find him.

Blurs of golden ran rampant through the forest's of Hi no kuni, a mask covered Hoatrubi's freckled face, hiding her identity. The mask was all white, with two red stripes crossing over the eyes vertically with Konoha's insignia embedded within the forehead part. She felt silly wearing such a thing, but it was required in her line of work. Other than that she wore her usual attire, bright red track jacket, matching cuffed up pants that stop well above her ankles and her own Hi-ate was still worn proudly around her right arm.

"Now, my target was last sighted in Hi no Kuni, traveling with two other shinobi-both male, so this could be dangerous, but than again, the pays gonna be sweet!"

Licking her lips beneath her mask, Hoatrubi began to pick up her pace, taking long, leaps from branch to branch, wasting no effort. It wasn't many times you'd get a target right in your backyard, and Hotrubi wasn't about to let this chance slip past her. Her target was a small girl, with long white hair, who'd recently defected from Kumogakure. She was a genin, a medic and also belonged to the Yamanaka clan. Not else was known about her, but if Hoatrubi could bag this one, she'd pocket a pretty penny.

The debut of Konoha's kirasshu would be a big one,and her name would be widespread throughout the five shinobi nations. With unparalleled tracking prowess, Hotarubi was making ground, and the silvered hair girl would be unaware of her new found stalker. Finally after an hour or so of gathering some info from the backwater villages clustered around the area where she was last sighted Hotarubi came upon some foot prints. Jumping down to the open area, Hotarubi sunk to the ground, her fingers tracing the grooves.

"These aren't that old, I'm getting close..."

Knowing she was hot on this Nuke-nin's trial, she took the the treetops with audible footfalls, her maple eyes scanning down below for evident movement. After a few more minutes of running and jumping a thinning, wicked smile flashed upon Hotarubi's lips. "Finally..." Jumping down from her perch, she reached for two kunai, tossing them with adept accuracy at the oblivious girl, following up she'd drawn her specialized chokuto, holding it high, its serrated metal gleamed beneath the sun. If she didn't think or move quick, she'd be split in two!

On my way back, not even more than ten minutes had passed. I found myself turning my head in very direction, confused as to where I should go. Something was amiss, my neck tingled with an odd sensation, as if hungry eyes were upon me and I could not escape their watch. Suddenly, I heard the whispering of metal upon me, and I knew than that I was under attack, but from who? I was scared, had they found me? Quickly I reached for a kunai, whilst turning my body around with a small jump forward while turning my upper body, I faced the oncoming projectiles from above.

Easily I staved off the metallic knives, with my own, but the threat was far from over, Looking above, I saw a masked figure, spinning downwards towards me, within their hand a serrated blade. Startled I stepped back, the blades teeth but a hair-breath away from cutting me. Not even a second later, I jumped back tossing the kunai towards her. With my jump back taking me two meters away, I'd step behind a tree, my back pressed to its basin.

"Who is that?"

"What am I going to do?"

Fear griped ahold of me as my heart knocked angrily upon its chamber walls, I didn't know what to do, but I palmed a noted shuriken and a regular one hidden beneath it, and I'd pop out of my cover, throwing the tagged one at my assailant, the other would rotate beneath it, but with a trick and roll of my wrist the other spun off to the side, from the tree i'd popped out of, to one, ten feet across. Detonating it within their face, I'd pull the glimmering strand, tugging it tight, but what was most peculiar was that it was ivory and clearly visible.

It'd serve to dumbfound my assailant as I took to the treetops, my fingers coiled around the ivory wire. Stilling my breath I dared not breath too hard for fear of being found. If I stayed calm I'd be just find, hopefully I thought....

Spiraling down towards the girl, Hotarubi took notice that she reacted, turning around to deflect the incoming kunai. From her position she could clearly see the etched out emblem upon her left arm, there was no mistake, she was the target and she was alone. Couldn't get much better she thought. Now all that was left is to bag the girl. Dead or alive it didn't matter to Hotsrubi, no in the slightest. Coming down from the sky, Hotsrubi's serrated edge cut through nothing but air, the girl could move for her diminutive size, but it wouldn't save her.

Raising her free hand, Hotarubi caught hold of the thrown kunai and with a flip and toss, swung it back to its owner, but it'd hit the trunk of the tree she'd ducked behind. Adrenaline was pumping through her body as she assessed within her mind what to do. She could just go, but that'd be risky, too risky for her taste. Before she could think a shuriken came humming towards her, an ivory tail flapping aimlessly behind it. "Shit!" With the energy gathered at her heels, Hotarubi sped off to her left, utilizing both shunpo and v to evade the explosion that rippled through the forest's confines.

Barely she'd made it out of the blast radius, the hot air wafting over her licking at her body as Hotarubi searched intently for the girl who'd unbeknownst to her had taken to the tree-tops. (biting her lip) "So this is how we're playing, huh?" Hotarubi didn't know what the girl had planned, but the ivory shinobi wire was perplexing. Instincts told her not to follow, but with her prize so close how could she not? Sheathing her chokuto Hotarubi looked around for a moment. Reaching into her pouch, Hotarubi pulled the cap, dropping the smoke grenade onto the ground. A most obscuring smoke billowed forth from Hoatrubi's position, disguising her whereabouts.

From the smoke, charged a powerless Hotarubi, who'd leap over the wire, searching for the silver haired child, whilst the true Hotarubi had taken to the treetops, scanning for any movement that'd give the girl away. Just a little nudge was all she needed. "C'mon, show yerself..."

Watching from where I stood, crouched low to the tree to better my low visibility, I tried to calm myself. I'd make it out alive and be okay. Things would work out just fine if I believed in myself. I could escape. Looking from the top, down below, I saw the assassin toss out a grenade with caused an obscurity to to hide her movements, but if she thought that'd stop me, she was wrong. I saw her blast forward from the smoke and I took action immediately, tugging at the loose knot I tied to the other tree I'd hide behind.

The shinobi wire would whip to life as I yanked, and the wire would coil around the assassin, and with my free hand I'd form one seal, causing a rippling explosion to take place, engulfing the onin-nin within a fiery hell spawn of flames. It was a pretty smart idea to tie the paper bombs around the wire, and it proved a most useful tactic in warfare. Looking intently with sweat rolling down my brow, I peaked from the edge of the branch, dropping the shinobi wire to the earthen floor. It was hard to tell if I'd gotten them, but I couldn't be sure, cause the smoke and her just running out, didn't play well within my mind.

Quickly I decided to ditch my old position, it wouldn't fare too well for me if I were to be found by that person. I needed to escape. My silver hair swayed about as I caught hold of another tree a few feet away from the other one. I didn't allow my breaths to leave my mouth, but instead my nose. Staying alive would require me to stay smarter than the one looking to capture or even worse kill me. I'd heard about Onin-nin, hunters who captured the missing ninja of villages for payment. Although our encounter was brief, I saw the Konoha emblem upon the white and red mask.

(Talking inside her head) "So that was her plan?"

She was a deceptive, little girl Hotarubi thought as she witnessed the fiery explosion that engulfed her simple clone. Good thing she didn't plunge head first into it, nerves were given to humans for a reason, and now Hotarubi knew that. Thanks to the the clone, Hoatrubi now knew where the Yamanaka missing shinobi was. This was due to the glare from the sun, that shined down, hitting the wire just right so that it shimmered brilliantly with an amber gleam. Following it she saw the girl switch positions, it was a smart move, but sadly, she did so a second too late.

Sneakily stalking the girl, Hotarubi put herself within five meters of the girl, her body low to the tree branch so she wouldn't be seen. With wind style chakra gathering in her chokuto, Hotarubi hung from the branch and than dropped to the earth below with a audible thud. Swing the serrated sword, she let loose a tornado of wind, sent charging at the girl, with it the sword would be let go, plunging itself within the basin of a nearby tree. However Hotarubi was not finished yet, her hands clasped together, weaving hand-seals. Something big was coming, ready to clear way. No more hiding.

Inhaling deeply, she let loose a wide cone like gale from her lips. "Fuuton: Daitoppa no jutsu!" The intense gale would knock down, toppling dozens of trees within a thirty meter radius. This hiding and running wasn't something Hotarubi liked to do, she preferred her combat up close and personal...very personal. The sounds of cracking wood, would rang out, as they'd hit the ground with a thunderous crashing noise. As for the girl, she'd have to escape the twenty meter tornado that wished to suck her up. Finally the battle would start as Hotarubi looked around the flattened area of stumps and makeshifts logs.

Kamaitachi (Cutting Whirlwind)

Description: This jutsu was brought to fame by a legendary Suna shinobi from long ago, and was named after a mythical creature able to command the winds on a whim. After channeling wind chakra at either their weapon or limb, the user swings it around and brings forth a most intense tornado, coming out from the weapon/arm. Once it strikes the user, the tornado tips upward and takes the user up, keeping them imprisoned by the strong currents, and delivering multiple waves of cutting/slicing damage onto their bodies, as well as dropping them hard onto the ground afterward.

Daitoppa (Great Breakthrough)

Description: A staple Fuuton technique, Daitoppa allows the user to blow a single strong current from their mouth, expelled in a cone like fashion forward which carries enough power to knock anything in its way down. This technique is very simple to execute – the user makes the right seals, simply takes a deep breath, and let’s go!

Without warning a felt he gales of wind pressing forward towards me. I was wrong, she had escaped somehow, maybe the person that was her, was actually a clone. Biting my lip I jumped from my position, barely avoiding the tornado like jutsu aimed for me, but once my feet landed safely upon a nearby branch, I felt my security falter, as it was toppled over by the Onin's jutsu. From the voice I could tell it was a female, but I didn't have time to ponder such things or even question. Running down the basin of a tree that toppled I had no choice but to meet this assailant head first, no longer could I run and hide for the battlefield had been literally re-shaped.

Whilst I ran my hands met together as I executed a flash of seals quickly. "Ashigatsuru no Jutsu" Releasing the jutsu and my chakra within a twenty meter span, the Onin would find herself in trouble, unable to properly stand, but not even a moment later, she'd find a kunai heading her way, while I began running in the opposite direction. I had no need to fight her, and If I could escape and go to where Yuuza would everything would turn out okay.

Ashigatsuru no Jutsu (Jelly Dead Leg)

Description: With this simple illusion, the target will begin to feel their legs loose and wobbly, almost as if they had become glue or jelly. This forces the victim to not feel pain, but instead lose balance and feel wobbly.

With the field of play leveled to Hotarubi's liking she watched as the girl avoided her first attack, but was forced to lower grounds because of Hotarubi's following jutsu-Daitoppa. Watching the girl run down the falling tree, she saw her hands meet together as she tried to do hand seals, but it wouldn't be allowed. Ten meters away, before she could even think of finishing the seals, reaching within her pouch she'd take a kunai palming it within her dominant hand, Hotarubi would let it loose through the air, exploding it within close enough range, but the girls jutsu had gone through, and Hotarubi's legs faltered as she went to her knees.

"Dammit what is this?"

Upon her knees, she watched the explosion happened, at least that'd stop her from running but now she was faced with what exactly was the cause of this. Refusing to just be a sitting duck, Hotarubi would string together seals, holding the last as she, looked out into the settling mist, cheeks expanded she was ready to let loose the winds of the God, held up within her. All she needed was a visual and she'd fire. Hotarubi would have to be smart though, her legs- a major part of her combat prowess was taken out and now she needed to secure her prey.

Real battles were always hard...

Once I'd finished my jutsu, that had left my pursuer upon her knees, I was barely left with enough time to deal within the incoming projectile. Jumping from the fallen trees trunk, I realized that the kunai thrown was tagged, and so it exploded, roughly three meters from me. The explosion pushed me to the ground, licking away at my skin as the heat wafted over me. The force has sent me flying to the ground where I cut my arm and leg on debris caused by her jutsu. Wincing at the pain, I found my body aching as I stood to my feet, my sapphire pools gazing over at the fallen girl from an angle.

Shintenshin no Jutsu!

Covered in smudges I decided to better improve my chances of escaping, I'd string together a set of seals, and project my mind forth, while both using a safety net and increasing the speed at which my mind could travel. I'd enter her mind and from there I'd crack it, so that I could manage to leave this place and hide out somewhere safe until things around here simmered down. How could such a gorgeous place be so lethally dangerous? While my mind traveled towards the Onin, if I was successful I'd have control of her body and I could injure her while healing myself.

I had performed the jutsu-Shintenshin from fifteen meters away, but even so under the circumstances I saw, I should have had no problem capturing her. I'd be out of this situation soon, or perhaps it was my time to leave this world. I didn't think about such thoughts for long before I purged them from my mind. I had to live. For my own sake!

Shintenshin no Jutsu (Mind Body Change Technique)

Special: Spirit moves slightly slower than user's top-speed, in a straight line. Mind body change can only target victims within 10 meters for up to 1 turn, plus 2 more meters and 1 extra turn each time retrained. Control can only be broke by opponent's with greater chakra capacities (bijuu, samehada, or by simply having more jutsu).
Description: Shintenshin no Jutsu is a specialized secret ninjutsu technique originally used for spying, and serves as the base for all Yamanka related capture. The ninja forms the needed handseals and then projects their spirit out of their body into another ninja or an animal. Unfortunately, the spirit flies in a straight line at a slow speeds; if the target moves and avoids the incoming spirit, the ninjas body falls lifeless until the spirit can find its way back to the body several minutes later. Because of the risk involved, the ninja must be very careful. While inhabiting the body of their opponent, the target still remains in their mind but their mental processes are forced aside as the ninja takes control. However if the target has strong mental fortitude, they can overpower the intruder and force them out of their body. Finally, while in the body of their target, if the ninja takes sudden physical damage, their original body will be hurt as well.

When performing the Shintenshin jutsu, the user will be capable of returning to their body instantly in case the technique either fails or misses, allowing them to prevent their bodies to be taken advantage of in case of a mishap.

Description: Considering the speed of the Shintenshin no Jutsu, there is the constant exposure to failure that the Yamanaka faces with its every use. In order to prevent this, there is the possibility of increasing its speed so that it will have a better chance to at hit the enemy. This increases the speed of the Shintenshin jutsu to be as fast at the user's top speed when casting.

Walking aimlessly around the country side of the Land of Fire, Jin found himself drawn towards the all too familiar sound of fighting. Flicking his right thumb against the side of his nose he began grinning as he sprinted towards the area, slowing only as he neared the apparent battlefield. Yet when he saw two little blondes fighting with no apparent regard for each others lives he knew it could possibly be a dispute. Still grinning he folded his arms and watched as the brighter blond was brought to her knees, and the lighter blond went on the offensive still. Quickly drawing a swarm of shuriken from his packs he kept them at the ready, he'd throw them as soon as he decided which blondie he wanted to help, and which he wanted to kill.

"Now!"

Hotarubi yelled within her mind as she saw the girl finish her seals, and hold a odd sign, pointed at her. She didn't know what it was, but she wasn't going to find out. Inhaling air, she aimed and let loose towards the missing Yamanaka girl. "Fuuton: Shinkūgyoku no jutsu!" From the masked girls lips, she shot forth compressed bullet of wind, the havens gales were commanded at her front, and she'd offer no reprieve for her enemies. No mercy was given to the prey from the hunter.

Hotarubi had fired several bullets of air towards Saori at great speeds and with speed on her side, her bullets would hit Saori indiscriminately all over, thus hopefully canceling out her jutsu, but after the last bullet left her lips, Hotarubi was worried about how to go back on the offensive. She had not seen anything come in contact with her to cripple her as she was, so maybe is was a genjutsu, but the only she could escape was by pain, and it had to be a lot to dispel such a spell.

Not even seconds after pondering the thought she palmed a kunai, flicking it so that its sharp metal faced her shoulder. It was going to hurt, but she prepared herself for teh worst an without hesitation she plunged the the kunai into her shoulder, dragging it across her skin, till hot fire ravaged her arm, and blood poured forth; however no sound came from behind her lips, oh how she wanted to yelp, but she held it back. Such actions were unneeded of a shinobi.

Hotarubi could feel her legs once, more and also the stinging of her arm, but what was important was that she could now move, and so would utilize shunpo, flicking out of sight, and than curving so that she was five meters away from the silver haired girl, and with the same kunai she wounded herself with, she'd swing it, and let loose the wind chakra that had gathered within in it. "Fuuton: Kamaitachi no jutsu" the oppressive funnel of wind would seek to uplift Saori and violently thrash her onto the ground.

Description: Immediately following the three required hand seals, users of this jutsu will inhale deeply; taking in a great amount of air. Mixing the air with their own chakra, they will than expel up to five (5) small spherical bullets of wind. Each shot will be expelled simultaneously, leaving but a second to adjust for aiming purposes. The shots will travel at twice the speed, but do the same amount of damage as thrown projectiles. Piercing through clothing, to cut the flesh beneath.

My body had came under siege from the Onin's attack, how foolish was I? Thankful for my safety net I quickly, retreated my mind, seeking refuge back in my own body once more, but it was too late, I had been cut in several places along my body by the vacuum bullets. Pain rippled through me as I realized she'd broken my genjutsu and was once more on the move, but before I could even register her movements, a kunai buried within a funnel of wind, swept me upwards into the sky, cutting me all over, the kunai, burying itself within my left shoulder. Once in the air, I was harshly dropped without warning, a booming crack sound sounding as the broken basin of a tree broke my fall.

A painful yelp escaped me as I laid on the ground covered in blood, my vision flickering from black to color repeatedly, but my mind was falling out of the concealed seams of reality and into unconsciousness. I couldn't let it end here, but it hurt everywhere and I wanted nothing more than to allow myself to give and, and be at peace; however my life was important and I wouldn't let go of my hold, not without a proper fight until my dying breath, until the end. "I didn't think this would happened today, everything was so tranquil at first.... Man It really feels like I'm going to die here, surrounded by beauty...."

Reaching for what might be the last kunai I would hold, I staggered to my feet slowly, my eyes blurred with haziness as I looked for the blonde woman in the white mask. Fate sure was a tricky, fickle woman. I saw the world, least some of it, I thought to myself with one eye open. Holding the kunai up with my last bit of strength, I readied myself. There was still hope, after all I was a medic and could heal myself, but that was only if I could escape. It'd suck dying not even knowing the name of my assailant, it was more or so a curiosity thing, but I couldn't help myself from asking. (coughing) "C-Could yyy-you at the very least tell me, the name of my killer?"

Hotarubi watched with her amber eyes as her kunai dug itself into the girls shoulder and her jutsu took the silver haired child into the air and dropped her harshly onto a broken tree trunk unmercifully. It finally seemed that this fight was drawing to a close as she looked on at the girl. She had courage standing on her feet, she was probably scared, Hotarubi began to feel sorry for the girl, she was still but a child, thrown into an ugly yet beautiful world. So sad she thought as she finally made her way over to the girl and where her serrated chokuto had been thrown.

Drawing it from the fallen tree, she made her way closer, standing less than five meters from her, she popped the white scuffed mask from her freckled face, revealing her true self. "Hotarubi Arashiyama!" Staring the child down, Hotarubi vanished from view, curving to the girls righter-most side, she'd exit her shunpo, her blade aimed to stab the girl in her side. It was cruel, but such was this world they lived in. It was sad children died like this, under the sound of war. If the attack connected true, the young girl wouldn't have long to breath air from this earth...

"Hotarubi...huh...."

My body hurt all over, as if I was buried beneath molten lava and the burning sensation would not leave me. I couldn't move, my stance was but a bluff and it was called. My poker face just wasn't good enough. The faint figure my eyes saw of her form had left me, and I felt something cold find its way into my side, and the pain was almost unbearable. I could no longer stand as I fell to my knees, weak with my life force leaving my vessel. Black filled my sight as the world began to fade out to a colorless gray. I could feel the tears roll down my face, but they were black, not blue like the sky I'd no longer be able to wake up to.

Feeling my blood pour out endlessly, I laid upon the ground, within my pool of velvet liquid. My skin began to turn pale and my heart began to slow, an soon the pain left me, and once that happened I knew my time was short within this world. "So this is what it feels like to die? I never thought I'd witness such a thing so soon...." With what remainder of my strength, I opened my eyes and lifted my dead arm up, my hand opening as I tried to grab ahold of the blazing sun, but alas it was out of my reach....forever. My hand fell as if weighed down by and unseen weight onto my chest and my breathing stopped. I had slipped through the cracks of this world, and my mind truly left its body.

Finally, I was at rest........

Shuriken were placed back within his tool pouch as he found himself too distracted by the two little girls going hard at each other, neither letting up. He didn't want to shame one of them defeating the other by interfering so he stayed off to the side and watched. Though with the life of the light blond apparently fluttering away, Jin walked forward a bit, about ten meters from the winning blond as he spoke. "Nice victory there. You plan on lootin' that body? Or can I take what ever is of use, pleasseeee?!"
