She would find herself waking up some time after the last parts of the mission were complete. She had aroused earlier than she would have liked. Her head felt heavy and it hurt. What was that throbbing pain that was on her forehead. Her right hand would move gingerly across her forehead to find a lump. And that was when she realized that she had fallen from above and slid down the muddy slope. Her vision was blurry but she knew that she would regain it in some time soon. She grimaced as she tried to get up from her lying position to at least a sitting position. All was a blur to her but at least she remembered a bit of the earlier events of that day. She had been trying to find food and had found remnants of what looked like cucumbers or some kind of vegetable.
She looked up at the sky to find that it was getting dark. The moon was shining overhead and she wondered just how long she had been unconscious. Ren must have been really worried about her, she thought. And that was when she would try to get up from her sitting position only to find that a sharp pain would stall her. The pain came from her leg, forcing her to go back into a sitting position. Whatever had happened to her leg while she slid down that muddy slope wasn't helping matters at all. She groaned a little at the sudden overtake of pain and began to gently rub her leg with her hand. It felt swollen even by touch. She guessed she would have to find Ren to see if he could look at it for her or something. But she doubted a boatman would be able to help.
On the other hand, Ren was getting concerned for her safety. After many hours of searching without result, he decided to wait until nightfall again to try the search again. He had spent the rest of the afternoon chopping wood once more knowing that he needed to finish this raft as soon as possible to get them out of the mess. He thought it would be smart to take to searching once he was all out of energy and could no longer chop wood anymore. At least then he could focus more on the search and probably have a better chance of finding her. So that was exactly what he had done that day, waiting until the sun went down to commence the search party once more. This time he searched even more closely and would find the slope that he had missed earlier. He was such an idiot!
He hollered her name loudly hoping to get a response. In a few moments he would hear her feeble reply. Tracing the origin of the voice, she would find that she was indeed at the bottom of the muddy slope. This could only mean one of two things; either she had fallen down from up above and gone rolling or she had decided to investigate the grounds below and had failed to notice that she couldn't get back up again. Whatever the reason was, he would slide down the slope carefully and see her sitting there, by the tree. It seemed that his first guess had been correct after all as he neared her, flashlight in hand. She looked pale, with a big lump on her forehead that must have been from hitting it hard against something.
She would confirm of this later on as he helped her steadily get back up the slope. This feat wasn't done so easily because she was injured and because they were climbing up a steep slope. The way he had thought of was to use a rope that he had remaining to tie himself and her with and he would pull her up from up above. It required a lot of physical exertion but it wasn't something impossible to do. Being a boatman, he did have muscle and soon she found herself back in the familiar forest area, to safety. The two of them made their way slowly back to the sandy plains where he would address her injury and then show her the progress of the raft.
