Uchiha Manor

[Katsumaru]

Following the dreadful damage to Konohagakure several years ago, the Uchiha Compound was relocated as both a matter of practicality and for greater security. The new design is very similar to the Hokage’s castle, with limestone boulder architecture. In comparison to the castle, the compound had been designed with much greater care, with fewer slits in-between, and the rock has been carved properly. It stands near Konohagakure’s center upon a hill at three floors high. A set of lengthy stairs lead towards a twenty meter courtyard spotted with thick branched trees.

Courtyard

The courtyard, and twenty meters long and wide, is used as a place of training. Various trees have grown in the courtyard, but it lacks any other distinguishing features, neither decorations of any sort nor any flora. Like much of the nearby environment, the courtyard is completely bare.

First Floor[/u]

Scarcely lit by candles. the first floor serves as a quarter for the younger Uchiha who have not yet become shinobi. With over a dozen rooms, each containing only a bed and desk, the rooms are quite lacking and downright depressing. The choice was by design, as those who are not yet capable of serving the village must earn their keep.

Second Floor[/u]
In stark contrast to the previous Uchiha Compound, the relocated structure lacks any means of entertainment whatsoever. The second floor is an armory, containing a variety of armaments and tools for training. A single, twenty meter floor spreads out far, lacking separate rooms.

Third Floor[/u]

The rooms of the third floor are much smaller than those beneath. These rooms have been designed for Konohagakure shinobi and retired warriors. While they have earned their keep, the space is insufficient to allow for much leniency in design. Therefore each room has only a table, a bed, and a chest for personal belongings, only a slight bettering of the conditions of the first floor.

A MOMENT OF SUBTLTY.

Truth be told I was past the politics. The pressure. It was astonishing to thought just as it was sensually. Made of vigor I will always be – but not even the strongest of men can stay concrete under the stresses of watching the twisted pleasures of other men. It’s why I’d cast myself out amongst the others; it made it all the easier when they turned against me.

Chills would creep down my spine as I stepped into the first grass patch of the uchiha manor – escaping the stone walls acting as its gate. Most of my clan had migrated to kirigakure to follow in the footsteps of my older cousin Kouketsu.. leaving me here to take reign of this so called village and whatever relics we held left to our true history.

These very same steps had been trekked by every great uchiha known in Konoha’s history and I was determined to become the same legend that every brother of mine before me was. Beneath my nose would a smirk blossom into a full grin as I embraced in the past memories of my childhood within the courtyard. Looking back once more atop the steps I would tug at my headband before proceeding into the hollow entrance.

If you were to observe the path to the Uchiha Manor you would see a young man, no more than a Genin, making his way towards the large structure. As he walked he occasionally reached into a small bag that hung from his belt, taking something out and throwing it off to the side of the path. Anyone that was watching may find this behavior strange, especially if they knew what the objects were; seeds. As the young man walked he was sowing the seeds that he carried everywhere with him. The way this strangeness could be diminished a little, if not entirely, would be to know who the young man was. His name was Roka Hanakora, of the clan of flower users. Wherever he went in the village, he scattered speeds, spreading the beauty of flowers.

He looked up at the Manor, noting again the thick branched trees that grew, as well as the absence of color. 'Is there even anyone there?' He hadn't seen much activity about the place lately, and was hoping that it was empty. That way, there would be no one to question him about what he was doing. When he reached the courtyard he made his way to one of the trees, and scattered a small handful of seeds around its base. There wasn't much soil here, so he'd have to make due with what little could be found around the trees. He formed a set of handseals, focusing Chakra. "Hana Ninpou: Haeru." The seeds began to grow, Roka's Chakra supplying the energy needed. The growth was fast, the flowers seeming to burst into bloom in a moment.

The shadows were always walls with invisible eyes. Looking far ahead was a man covered by the obscurity of darkness. He couldn’t have been no more than fifty meters away. It was the perfect distance needed to complete the task he had been assigned today. The eyes of the Uchiha are something that has been reviled since the beginning. But the man spying had peculiar interest in them. Once he had them within his grasp, he’d be able to move on to the next step in his plan.

Special: The range one can travel depends on the user's 'Mokusei Akuryou'. Because Kuro-Shiro are naturally one with Mokuton, they can remain inside a substance indefinitely without needing air, so long as they have the chakra to keep it up.
Description: Kagerou allows the user to merge their body with the ground (or sand) and any plant or tree large enough to conceal their size. They have the option to be fully submerged in the substance or only partially submerged. Then, using a network of organic matter they can travel through it at fast speeds.

Ne Tsuiseki (Root Tracking)

Description: After having learned Ne Tsuiseki, when the Kuro-Shiro submerges themself with the use of Kagerou they are given the ability to sense those around them. With a simple thought, their chakra leeches out around them and combines with organic material, which turns into roots. These roots spread out close to the surface of the substance, picking up on physical vibrations that run through. This is especially helpful when underground, as the Kuro-Shiro will be able to pinpoint the location of a living being that walks across the ground in their range. The downside, however, is that they will not be able to tell if that being is a person or animal without help.

Mokusei Yokuatsu (Wooden Suppression)

Special: While using Kagerou to meld with the ground or tree, the Kuro-Shiro can use Mokusei Yokuatsu to suppress their chakra so that they cannot be detected. Not even sensors or chakra-seeing Doujutsu are capable of locating them. This suppression lasts for 1 turn to start and with each retraining lasts 1 more turn. Can be activated at will and ended at will, however, it requires a cooldown of 1 turn before it can be reused.
Description: When the Kuro-Shiro feels that they need to hide more fully than just being within a substance can provide them, they can mentally activate Mokusei Yokuatsu. The organic material around them forms a special barrier with their chakra, almost like a caccoon, that prevents their chakra from being detected. If used correctly, this technique can be a highly effective reconnaissance tactic.

This was a sight truly remarkable.

There wasn't another place within Konohagakure that held the same air of higher authority than the Uchiha manor. It was, without a doubt, fitting for a family of such respected and powerful roots - even the Hyuuga compound, of which Soratsu had also visited, failed in comparison to prestige of where Uchiha called home. Even years after the village crumbled to two of the notorious clan, the Uchiha remained as prominent as ever; a simple feat that to some meant nothing, but to Soratsu meant everything.

Masked footsteps guided him forward through the land, such prowess over his body and his movement evident as he transcended as if a ghost. There was no need to take any drastic steps in a means to further remain invisible, for the black cloak that clung to his form and the kasa hat that remained perched upon his crown did well to ensure that. In fact, even as he neared the building that held so many secrets of his clan lineage, his eyes - those deep hues of crimson - never faded from existence.

With their powerful glare he was guided forward, his trek, though having slowed minimally upon reaching the entrance, only ceasing at the sight of another. It wasn't the Hanakora child - for he, too, was noticed - but rather someone of greater importance; another Uchiha, and a powerful one at that.

No words were spoken, just the slithering of his two digits slipping from his sleeves and tipping his hat downwards - obscuring his Sharingan. Nothing else.

Roka was kneeling among the flowers when he heard a quiet scuffing behind him, and he froze. His hands, hovering over two of the flowers, started to tremble slightly as he slowly turned his head to look over his shoulder. He quickly spotted the source of the sound; a man wearing a black cloak and kasa, the hat pulled down over his eyes. Roka visibly paled, and he scrambled to his feet. "S-sorry," he stuttered, keeping his eyes on the ground as he began to edge around towards the entrance to the courtyard, so he could make his escape. "I-I hadn't seen anyone come in or out in a while, s-so I thought it had been abandoned. I-I'll just go now."

A MOMENT OF UNDERSTANDING.

Though treading as silent as a ghosts whisper his footsteps would not go unnoticed to me. Just before turning fully to face the entrance of the manor a mighty wind would abruptly halt my intended actions. Eyes of coal would coldly gaze unto a mysterious figure – by surprise my words would fall into subconscious matter.

“I am not sure who you are – but if you are here to kill me, my only request is that you allow me to honor the sanctuary of my family before you engage any further.”

Calmly contorted; I wasn’t a man whom could easily shy away from his own fate – but the honor I held for my clansmen’s temple was un-rivaled to anything. I was unsure of what this persons intentions were, but I was sure they weren’t as important as what I’d had in mind. With what was said from my sideward angle, looking at the stranger from peripheral view, I would begin to turn away from him in attempts to proceeding into the manor, that is, unless there was something else he were here for.

This child, whoever he is, was ignored; not a glance in his direction, nor a word spoken in response. There was nothing to be said about his existence before Soratsu, for he meant nothing - an ant to a god, per se. Though his very presence was ignored, the very slim possibility of him being a threat was very much noticed.

In fact, even as Sora's slow gait brought him further and further within the compound, his senses remained heightened; afterall, this was still foreign land. He wasn't the only one aware of his surroundings it seemed.

"Easy," His words crept out from the brim's of his lips in a whisper - a soft, yet dark whisper. "Killing on such a holy land would guarantee a ticket straight to hell." Though this wasn't the same land established when Uchiha first migrating to the village, it still was, afterall, the home of many. There was nothing more disgraceful than tarnishing it with the blood of one of their own. "Even so,"

Those two same fingers lifted his kasa hat, exposing his powerful glare to the youth.

"I would never slaughter the blood of my cousins without good reason."

A MOMENT OF CLARITY

If I had known that the one beforehand that the one standing before me was an elder uchiha my words would have been more appropriate. But after recognizing how ill-tempered I must have sounded to him I would immediately have stepped in a backwards motion – allowing myself to face him more directly. My upper body would lean forward in a progressive bow as I attempted to redeem myself.

“My apologies Uchiha-Choro (elder).. please forgive my previous statement, I did not know.”

Retorted in an even calmer manner than before, I might add, and as I apologized I would take note of his clothing; it was not from around here. His words were soft and unalarming- I took note to the distinctness he provided to our clans name and for that I was eternally grateful.

“This morning, the village of fire held only two uchiha- and now we are visited by a third. I am truly honored. You may call me Agarumo, Uchiha-Choro..”

With what last was said I would finally raise to my full poise, awaiting a response.

"There's no need for apologies." His right hand ascended into the air, showing that he meant no harm to the child. "I don't blame you for being on guard, as Uchiha we are never truly safe in this world." It was the price for gaining such innate and raw power from our eyes. No matter the location or the area, there was always someone or some group after what Uchiha could weild with ease; it was the first thing taught to the youth of the clan.

"Agarumo, you say? Well, I was under the impression this nation housed many like us. Alot must have changed since those two men attacked the Nidaime all those many years ago."

Seven years, to be exact. When the nations of Kirigakure and Sunagakure both rallied together and destroyed Konohagakure, nothing remained. Many were slaughtered in the aftermath of the attack, and though it hadn't been their sole intention, Soratsu had watched the Hokage fall - a pity, too, for they shared the same eyes. Not just a Sharingan, but eyes seeking power.

"You must have been just a mere child back then." The gaze between them was broken, Soratsu's eyes darting upwards as if to take a last glance at the building before continuing on. "Just how much have you learned of that day?"

A MOMENT OF ENERGY

Even within the confines of such darkness I felt at ease with my surrounding. I knew the entire building like the back of my hand – from the entrance into the stairwell.. to the altar which sat directly behind me, a black drape within its center; two unlit candles canvassing its left and right shoulder did just the job of creating an illuminated scene. With an outstretched arm, a homely gesture, I would allow my elder to move just to the side of me to put him to my left, that is, if he so chose to walk at an even level with me. If in symmetry we would have both begun our trek to the first relic of our history, a portrait of a very old uchiha - most of the picture scarred albeit the eyes which still remained as luminous since the first day they were drawn.

If my eyes were indeed not deceived by the appearance of the Chouru, then I was truly in for a rude awakening. I had known absolutely nothing – and only for the sheer fact that I had been so young, naïve even, to the real world around me.

“I know nothing.. other than the ruining of our clans name through the years I’ve grown… and the progression of those who wish to possess our gift. Most of the uchiha followed in the footsteps of one of my eldest cousins, Kouketsu, and migrated to the hidden mist. I know there is more you can tell me Choru, and I wish to know more about us..”

As if pulled by the demon within me my coal-stained eyes would slowly drift into red, birthing the sharingan^Ichi in its most amateur of forms in reaction to the rush of chakra channeling within me. I knew that they would only progress further through the knowledge the Chouru had for me, and I was nothing but eager to learn. I would stop short a few inches of the altar, just before the stairwell to both our right, hoping the scenery here held some sort of memory for him to enjoy.. because I too felt a close bond to every inch of the room.

Konohagakure never failed to surprise me.

That ill-fated day was not only a key piece of it's long history, it was also the pavement to something even bigger; a message, perhaps, the rest of the world - the testament of the potential of the Uchiha. It shocked me that such an important event remained unknown to the next generation, but was something that could easily be fixed. Even after all the chaos, Konoha remained ignorant; I couldn't let it remain that way.

"Your village has shielded you from the truth." I took his heed and moved to the left of him, allowing him to guide me further and further into the compound. "As an Uchiha, you must know and recognize the legacy of your surname. These eyes you weild--" My own Sharingan narrowed onto his own, gazing into their dept's as if analyzing their sheer potential. His young age extended far past just his features, for his Sharingan illuminated his lack of experience as a shinobi. "There's no telling how powerful they can become."

Instead of continuing, my movement once again ceased. I turned with that, my right hand lightly grasping the top of his shoulder. It was a slow manuever, not meant to scare or even intimidate him; frankly, this would be far easier if he wasn't moving.

"I can stand here and tell you all of what happened that night, or I could show you. Don't be afraid, I won't harm you."

Though I was clearly waiting to gauge his reaction to my words before proceeding, the tomoes within my eyes began to dance around my pupil; the deep crimson, if even possible, growing even brighter as the seconds went by.

A MOMENT OF CONFUSION

“Your village has shielded you from the truth.”

I watched every move he made, not in defense – but in perplexity. I'd become a bit uneasy within the moment of his last words. If my life had truly been a lie.. then what was I doing here? Why had I been left behind while the others left? Only one possible solution could have been the real truth.

“I am sorry, Chouro, but what did you say your name was?”

Words contorted moments before he’d turned; a strangeness was perplexing my every nerve at this point. It may have been my own foolish temper, or the difference within our ethnic upbringing, but ones name was supposed to be given in respect to haven given their own; thoughts subtly drifting away as I turned to face him, right arm adhering in reaction to the chouro’s quick gesture.

“I can stand here and tell you all of what happened that night, or I could show you. Don't be afraid, I won't harm you.”

“And how do you plan on showing me..?”

"My name is irrelevant, for now." I spoke instantly, still gauging his reaction to my actions and words. By now my chakra was circulating around each of my eyes; with his Sharingan, he would easily be able to take note of that. Likewise, it would also serve as an answer to his question. "Anything is possible if you wield a Sharingan, never forget that." I released my grip on his shoulder with my words. Then, with a simple backstep, I increased the distance between us.

"Have you noticed yet?" I cooed. "Take a look at your surroundings, child. We are no longer in the Uchiha compound, but rather--" In what almost seemed instantly, we were in a completely different location. Here, very much like the compound, would be very familiar to Agarumo. We were now outside of the village, standing on the cliff that looked over the entire land. It was day time now, and though the sun shined bright in the sky, everything lacked color - almost like looking at an old piece of film.

"We are inside a memory - my - memory. Turn around, child; there you will see why I am showing you this." If Agarumo was to heed my words and turn like I said, he would be greeted by the sight of an army. It wasn't a regular army, either - no, it was filled with men and women from two separate villages. Not only that, but standing in front of everyone were two men; both Uchiha, but clearly hailing from two completely different lands.

"You say most of your brethren migrated to Kirigakure in the footsteps of Kouketsu. Do you want to know why? Look closely at this man's eyes, tell me what you see."

I continued down towards leaders of the army and stood next to the taller of the two. It was clear, then, that we were the same person. If Agarumo still did not know where I was going with this, I would ensure that he did.

"This right here," I pointed behind at the army, and then to the man standing next to my old figure. He wielded a Sharingan, but his was a different variation - a matured Mangekyou Sharingan. "Is the army that took down your village seven years ago."

A MOMENT OF AGGRAVATION

In the moment of recognizing his words my body would feel pulled, somewhat – the earth itself seemed to shift around me as he spoke, transporting across eons of time in what looked like a black and white film. Only I and the Chouro seemed to be in full color with our sharingans over-illuminated by the presence chakra, in both he and I.

“We are inside a memory - my - memory. Turn around, child; there you will see why I am showing you this."

As he stepped back I too would mimic within his footsteps; my sharingan allowing me to easily depict and follow the movements of my chouro. What my eyes would fall upon, however, was a sight I would remember for ages. The appearance of Kouketsu and the Chouro together was something I did not find surprising, however. My thoughts encircled around something even more estrange; the reason as to why they were ready to attack the village they all hailed from.

“This right here is the army that took down your village seven years ago."

I saw the very thing I hadn’t wanted to see. My stomach turned to the very sight of the impeding destruction I knew was coming. With clenched fists I would turn my head at a downward angle, a gesture meant to hide the emotions I had from the Chouro.. for I no longer knew what his true intentions were for showing me all of this at once.

“But why Chouro? What was the purpose for all of this?! Why was it NEEDED?!”
