Tanbai’s head turned slightly as a several heavy bangs and rumble filled the air making her eyes look upwards towards the sky for the possible incoming raincloud. That’s when it happened. There was a blast followed by heat and the scent of smoke causing the ground beneath her feet to tremble. Her hand immediately squeezed onto his to keep her balance. That was no raincloud. Looking around quickly she found plums of black smoke billowing up from the distance flecked with orange sparks of fire. Her hand was instantly dropped from his as he disappeared upwards towards the roof tops in a matter of seconds.

She felt her heart hammering in her chest as she looked up towards him and leaned back as the girl whom leapt from the building earlier rushed past her. Her arm darted out on instinct to stop her but her fingers just grazed the ends of her hair a she ran towards the chaos. Looking back up towards where their Sensei had gone she looked at the others. ”Just-Just wait here. Don’t go running off its dangerous.” she said bringing her hand and clipboard up in a motion for them to settle and not dart on her. ’Where’s he going?! He’s coming back right?! He’s not going to just leave us here is it?!’’I don’t know! Don’t’ ask me!’ her mind begun to panic.

“Y-you guys, you gotta’ come see this!”

”You get back here! It’s dangerous! We don’t know what’s going on!” she yelled after her as her eyes darted back to the other two caught between leaving them unattended to drag the other one back. The decision was made for her when their Sensei appeared in front of her once more. His face anything but assuring that it was just a simple gas explosion or a poorly executed hit on a merchant and his wares. Brown eyes darted across his face as she felt herself speak in a hushed panic. ”What is it?”

”I need you not to panic okay? Stay focused.” he told her as his hands came down and rested on her shoulders squeezing them slightly. ”I’m a nurse! What the hell is going on?!” she snapped.

”We got trouble.”

Her eyes stopped and stared at him as she felt his fingers dig in a little more, silently telling her it was more threatening than he was letting on. ”So what do-“
”I need you to get everyone out of here.“

”What?” But her words fell on deaf ears as he turned his head towards his remaining team. ”You hear me?” he half barked at them. ”Your jobs are to help the civilians evacuate and stay out of trouble!” He let go of her shoulders and turned towards them.

Think of this as your first Team mission. Your jobs are to get as many people as you can to the Village Safe tunnels and stay out of the fray.” he stared them down looking over towards the errant teammate who already decided to dive head first into the action then back at the other two. ”No Trouble. Don’t let me catch you going out and finding it.” His words hung heavily with a silent “or else” attached to the end before he turned towards her again and took her clipboard folding the attached map to a new part of the city and marking it with her pen. ”Go there. Find as many as you can and take them there.” he instructed her and turned to leave.

”I don’t understand, what happened?! What’s going on?!” she asked grabbing hold of his arm stopping him from going anywhere. ”If you see a mark that isn’t this on their hiate,” he touched the metal plate that bore the village symbol. “Run. Don’t stay and fight it.” Her eyes searched his face for a more detailed explanation but he wasn’t giving her any.

”What about you? What are you going to do?” she asked afraid of the answer. His other hand moved over and removed hers from his arm as he set it back against her chest pushing the clipboard to her.
”Save the village.” he said before winking her and giving a million watt smile before disappearing.


Left there alone and standing in the midst of downtown chaos Tanbai turned towards the other two opening her mouth to say something to them when the wailing cries of a child caught her attention making her head snap back to the right. The other teammate who had run off was walking back with a slightly hobble as she held another child in her arms koala’d to the front of her and screaming. Immediately her nurse mode kicked in as she rushed over to them looking at the teammate. ”What happened?” she asked as her hands busied brushing over the girl gently looking for wounds.

May was prepared for many things. Pop quizzes, surprise missions and she was always up for a fight – but this, this was much, much different. The scene she was witnessing was horrific, fire engulfing the entire city, panicked people climbing over each other to escape from the violence. In the distance, she could make out hundreds of dark figures, clashing with others, their opponents falling dead as they moved on to the next. It was almost too much to handle, but with a little girl tugging on her arm she had a reason to look away from it all. “My tummy hurts.” She groaned in her soft, high-pitched voice. She looked much younger than May, maybe seven or eight, and she was crammed under a piece of wood that was nearly as big as May herself. Not one with children, May avoided eye contact as she began to push on the fallen debris. Immediately after applying pressure the little girl shrieked, cringing and crying in pain. Now looking her in the eyes, May placed her free hand on the little girls cheek. “I need you to be strong, I have to get this off of you or you will die.” such a thing was reckless to say to a child, but May didn’t notice and nor did the little girl. She just nodded quickly, and squeezed her eyes shut. “Alright.” May said, now having both hands under the wooden plank, it had to be nearly twice as heavy as May and she had no idea how she would lift it, but the smoke getting nearer pumped May’s adrenaline faster, which would give her the strength to free the girl. “One,” May counted, bracing her arms under the log. “Two.” she didn’t bother saying three, she ripped the wood off the girl a near second after “two”, which even though shocked the little girl, proved to work. The little girl’s eyes were watering, but she acted very brave and did not cry out in pain as May picked her up.

For a moment, May snuggled into the girl’s warmth, it being the only comfort she had – the girl didn’t seem to mind, she just lay in May’s arms sniffling, hugging closer. As May began to stalk towards what she thought of as safety, the busty nurse came wheeling around the corner, her face holding an ugly expression of worry. May would have made a snarky remark about anything at the moment if she hadn’t felt so utterly terrified. “What happened?” her voice seemed more confident than before, and Amy guessed it was because she starting thinking medically. May herself always got that way about fighting. “She was crushed under some debris, I don’t know how bad it is but I’m guessing internal stomach injuries.” Even though May was soft with the girl and focused on handing her to the nurse carefully, her senses where still on alert. Yelling kept getting louder from behind her, and May finally turned around to face it’s a source. The dark figures were getting closer, but one in particular seemed to venture out of his group and into the crowd of people. He kept whipping his sword back and forth, blood spraying from the innocent victims. A ball of rage began to well up inside her, but she pushed it back and turned to the nurse. “You. . uhh. .” May hesitated, not knowing her name and feeling slightly embarrassed about it. “Was that Uneri-sama who just ran off?” A hint of worry lingered in her tone, but May wiped it away, remembering the wisp of blond hair she saw sprint away. “What did he say?”

“She was crushed under some debris, I don’t know how bad it is but I’m guessing internal stomach injuries.” Tabai hoped not as she dropped the clipboard and reached for the girl gently taking her into her arms before looking around and moving her to the ground. ”Shh, Shh, She murmured into the girls temple while cradling the back of her head. ”It’s all right, you’re going to be all right. But I need you to be brave for me ok? It’s so I can make it better.” she explained offering the girl a soft smile brushing the hair back out of her dirty face.

The child was shaken and sniffing as she lay on the ground looking up at her before nodding her head with a soft whimper. ”Okay? Now, where’s it hurt sweetie?” she asked while pulling up the child’s shirt to look at her abdomen. With slight pressure from her finger tips she started to push on the girls solar plexus working her way out to the sides and then down to the ribs. This was going to be quick and entirely against protocol but she didn’t have time for procedures at the moment. Her eyes went back up to the little girls watching her face plastering on the good nurse smile. ”Let me know when I get there all right?”

A flurry of screams that were being cut off made Tanbai’s head turn to see a spray of red hit the air. She didn’t want to be here anymore as she could feel the cold sweat breaking out on her arms and back when she jerked her head back to the little girl who was turning her head trying to look as well. ”No no, don’t look there! Look at me okay?” she said as her trembling fingers started to move down over the girls ribs.

It didn’t take long before the child gasped and started to cry making Tanbai grit her back teeth. It was internal, but it was probably a cracked or broken rib on her right side. Quickly her hands moved to her stomach. ”What about here? Does it hurt here?” A pained whimpered whine was the answer. Her hands didn’t waste any more time as she moved to the girl’s ankles and feet squeezing them and watching the little ones face for a reaction.

”Was that Uneri-sama who just ran off? What did he say?”

”Safe tunnels.” she said looking around for an unhindered direction finding it, as smoke started to move into the alleyway. Her mind was darting everywhere as to what to do the girl was fine apart from the stomach thankfully. ”Get as many as we can out of here!” the urgency in her voice rising as the noise was getting louder. Tanbai reached forward picking the girl up putting her on her right hip as she handed the little girl the clipboard and map. ”Hold onto that for me okay?”

”Kaykay.” she said with a nod and held onto it before leaning into Tanbai’s neck as Tanbai turned on her heels. ”Come on.” she told the young ninja as she took off running in the opposite direction of the explosions as best she could. She was in heels and had, every bit, a fifty pounds or more child on her hip slowing her down as they disappeared into the white smoke.

”Who are you?” Tanbai called out to her as the red headed nin easily kept pace with her and just a little infront.

”Eh?” the girl called back looking slightly over her shoulder.

”I said, what’s your name?” she called again with a gasp for breath. Already her heart was hammering and she could feel her lungs fighting for air. Her arm moved under the girls butt and pushed her up higher against her side as she dodged a knocked over trashcan from the chaos.

NPC: 2

Unfortunately, not even escorting a couple of injured citizens out of the village would be that easy. Though their mission in Bakudon Gai hadn't been one to eliminate the weak and helpless, this time it was different. Kouketsu had given the standing kill order: they were to slay anyone and everyone that wasn't sportin' a Kirigakure headband.

It was a task that these two specific shinobi, a pair of Sand-nin, intended to fulfill down to the letter.

Though their arrival wasn't as chaotic as the fighting going on deeper within the city, it would've definitely said all that it needed to. With nothin' more than a blur to mark either of the two phantom-like figures, they simply appeared a handful of meters (five) directly in front of the fleeing women¹. One brandished a simple straight sword - though it was red and dripping with blood - while the other held a pair of kunai, one for each hand.

"And where do ya think your goin', pretty lady?" The dair-haired shinobi had a wicked grin on his face. "Big boss man says we gotta kill every last one of you bastards."

"Aye," the other, lighter-haired ninja added. "We can kill the other one - lets have some fun with her first. She ain't half bad lookin'."

"Sounds like a plan ta me, man." Once again, he let his attention rest of Tanbai. "You hear that, bitch? My partner and I are gonna have a lil' fun with ya before we cut yer fuckin' head off. I hope yer ready for us."

Despite their boasting, neither of the Sand-nin made a move. Instead, they simply readied their weapons and lowered their stances. The game of cat n'mouse was just about to begin.

“Safe tunnels” she said before, her voice reaching an urgent tone. “Get as many out of here.” That was all May needed to hear and she was on it, immediately searching for exit routes of the city. The tunnels could definitely be an option but they seemed closer to the east gates themselves – but at the gates there was probably trouble, so she didn’t know which route to take. The nurse was suddenly moving, May had missed her command while she was thinking, and the movement in the dark figures and the crowd of bloody people coming towards them was enough to pressure May into leaving, falling behind the nurse and keeping pace. The little her seemed to be holding onto for dear life, and May could only know how she was feeling, not knowing what was going on. “Who are you?” May, now slightly ahead of her, leading the way, glanced back at the nurse. “Eh?” Not knowing if she heard her right, May questioned the nurse. “I said,” she spurted out in between her heavy breaths. “What’s your name?” Realizing she might be tired, May slowed down, thinking the empty street could be safe for a few moments. “Oh, I’m Akemai.” She cocked her head to the side and smiled at the little girl. “May for short. And you?” She was about to try to be friendly despite the fact that they were probably in danger, but her worry seemed to find its way out of her mind for a moment – but a moment to early.

Two men appeared in from of them and May jumped back immediately, pulling her hand out in front of Tanbai, who had muttered her name right before the ninja appeared. Feeling foolish, May snarled at both of them, but realized her headband seemed to not be on her forehead any longer. She would have got down on her hands and knees to find it if her life wasn’t in danger, but that didn’t seem to be the case. Instead her eyes lingered to their headbands and she almost gasped. “Sand shinobi? I thought. . I thought it was just Mist ones.” Her voice trailed off into utter disgust as she remembered the conversation from the other day and she grimaced. “Where do you think you’re going’ pretty lady?” He gave a smirk and seemed to be talking to Tanbai. “Big boss man says we gotta kill every last one of you bastards.” May wanted to lash out and hit him but she didn’t intend on dying yet, both were yielding weapons and seemed bloodthirty, and Tanbai and the ltitle girl was still standing behind her. May needed to think. “Aye,” the other one said, his hair was fair and his face wasn’t as menacing as the other, but his words proved to be just as disturbing. “We can kill the other one - lets have some fun with her first. She ain't half bad lookin'” The way they referred to May as is she wasn’t there would have really pissed her off if she was paying attention, but her mind was too busy thinking of a plan, and then didn’t seem to be making any sharp movements – neverless, her eyes trailed around their joints and feet, making sure they wouldn’t move anytime soon. “Sounds like a plan ta me, man.” The dark haired one talking again, but May’s mind was still racing. Think, think! She urged herself on, ideas popping up in her head. “You hear that, bitch? My partner and I are gonna have a lil' fun with ya before we cut yer fuckin' head off. I hope yer ready for us.” Just the word “bitch” brought May back and she began to format her plan.

“The only ones losin’ their heads will be you.” She hissed and swiftly reached into the gourd that rests on her sid,e her armw as already lingering there to begin with. Instead of pulling out a shuriken, she thrust her Hikari out at their feet and spun around, latching her hand onto Tanbai’s wrist. “C’mon!” She slurred her whisper, dashing off in the opposite direction, running a block or two before pulling her behind a building that still seemed intact. Her breathing was off and she felt fatigued, but May figured it was mostly from fear. Pushing the huffing nurse up against the wall, she peeled off and glanced behind her, a blinding light just burning down. “I-I don’t know where they are, but. . we need to stay calm and quiet. I’m thinking of a plan.” She was more talking to herself then her, and the nshe realized the little girl. “You two need to get to safety. . I’ll, I’ll do something. Or maybe we can run, they might lose interest.” May knew that wasn’t the case, but felt like speaking words of hope. She had no idea how Tanbai would react, but she feared the thought of losing two innocent citizens, especially one who her sensei seemed to become fond of quickly. “ I don’t know. .” She whispered, panicking. “I really don’t know. .”

“Akemai. May for short. And you?”

”Tanbai. Just say Bai.” she said keeping formalities at a minimum. She needed all the breath she could take to keep up with her. They just passed out of the smoke into a break when May stopped and her arm shot out to the side. Everything locked up on auto pilot as two figures suddenly appeared and blocked their path. Her heels skidded slightly on the packed earth of the back alley and she felt her arms grip the child closer to her. Her heart was hammering to the point she could hear the blood rushing in her ears in a dull thunder. ’What do they want?’ her mind whispered in a hush. ’Something not friendly.’

A sheen layer of sweat covered her forehead as she opened her mouth to speak but nothing was coming out; she couldn’t form words, she was freezing up. Then something conscious kicked inside of her. The weight of the child she was carrying, the young girl in front of her who was just there for her first day of class; her inner self ripped Bai out of the command seat and planted herself in position.

Her lungs were heaving as she parted her lips panting to catch her breath. ”Mm-May, she whispered out barely loud enough that even she could hardly hear it. ”Get behind me.” Her tongue felt like wet clay that was quickly drying up.

The little girl started to cry as Tanbai turned her head and kissed her cheek, her eyes never leaving the two that stood just feet in front of them. ”Shhh, don’t cry. Big girls don’t cry.” she said as she shifted on her foot moving backwards slightly with a soft sniff and pant for breath.

"And where do ya think your goin', pretty lady?”

The wrong person was in the pilot seat for this right now. ”Take a guess.” she said through gritted teeth while shifting the little girl higher on her hip.

But it fell on deaf ears. "Big boss man says we gotta kill every last one of you bastards.”

She stared at him, her eyes searching him over from head to toe taking in everything. So this was what a ninja killer looked like. This was the type of individuals that her mother entertained their other side that they only let show when on a job and not out enjoying themselves. ”Boss must not think things through very far.” muttered under her breath. She could understand killing if they had something to do with whatever the hell went wrong but just to outright kill everyone? Involve others who haven’t a gnat’s ass idea of what the hell happened? ’Couple of banana’s short of a full bunch if you ask me.’ ’More like tough titty. He wants to kill me then can heal himself. I hope he gets an infection the jerk!’ The little girl, old enough to understand what they were saying was clinging onto her neck and shoulder pressing her face into it to muffle herself but Tanbai could still hear her whimpering and crying. She couldn’t blame her, had she been by herself she’d probably be crying now too.

"Aye. We can kill the other one - lets have some fun with her first. She ain't half bad lookin."

”May get be-”

"Sounds like a plan ta me, man. You hear that, bitch? My partner and I are gonna have a lil' fun with ya before we cut yer fuckin' head off. I hope yer ready for us."

’I heard you asshole but your –‘

“The only ones losin’ their heads will be you.”

She did not just hear that. ”May!“ she snapped only to watch as the girl threw something at their feet before she felt herself being spun around and jerked down another alley. Tanbai didn’t bother to look back, whatever May had done caused the entire alley to light up as if lightning had just struck behind them.

They broke out onto a side street; it was like being in a maze as they zig-zagged through streets and across vacant lots before they made it to an area that seemed to be still intact. Tanbai felt May push her back against an alcove as her back met the concrete she could feel her legs shaking. Her lungs couldn’t seem to work fast enough as she was gasping for breath. Her arms were burning from the weight of the child but she was too worried to put her down. What seemed like a fair distance was only a few blocks between them. ’For shuriken sakes just how big is this place?!’

“I-I don’t know where they are, but. . we need to stay calm and quiet. I’m thinking of a plan.”

Tanbai, in all her cold panic glory couldn’t help but snort and give out a half hearted chuckle between breathing. ”No, haha no shit.” she said sniffing swiftly as she felt her lungs start to fall normally. “You two need to get to safety. I’ll, I’ll do something. Or maybe we can run; they might lose interest.” There was a pause as Tanbai let her eyes move over from looking up at the sky to over at May. “I don’t know...I really don’t know.”

”Innocence is the first casualty of war.” she said when the little girl shifted and a soft crinkle of paper caught her attention. ”Hey,” Tanbai motioned with her head down to the clipboard sandwiched against her chest. ”Take that. Your sensei, he marked a spot on it. H-how close are we to it?” she asked as the little girl looked up at her then down at May before handing the clipboard over to her. ”Hewes.” she whispered causing Tanbai to smile at her and rub her cheek on the top of her head. She doubted they’d give up but if worse came to worse…

”And don’t go talking as if you have nothing to live for or that your responsibility is me. That’s not how it works.” she inhaled shifted the girl once more. ”Seniority rules.” she felt her eye cringe slightly as she can’t believe she’d ever use that line. They had to think of something and staying in one place wasn’t an option. ”What the hell is going on here anyway? Why are they here?” There was a pregnant pause as she switched the child over to her other hip. “If…” she trailed off and licked her lips, ”If we have to eventually split up, you take her and run. I’ll stay…” she said looking out across the street and down another alley. She could see people running past the opening, towards the left for the most part. ”Just take her and go get help.” She turned her head towards May.

”That’s a big If you hear me? That is not to be plan B for either of us.” she let her words hang for a moment She was beyond frustrated and scared. She could feel her heart beat in her temples as every inch of her seemed to be running off of adrenalin. Her words hung for a moment before looking down at May and the map. ”So where the hell are we?”

She wasn't going to give up just yet, these two lackies from wherever could go ahead and try. But they wouldn't get their rocks off with her that easily. And when she was done with this she was going to give that Hokage a piece of her mind. What kind of place was this where she had to go through security as if she was walking into a prison and yet those two goons could just blow right on in?!

NPC: 2

Unfortunately for the pair of pussycats the two Suna-nin had stumbled across, they weren't squaring off with Genin fresh out of the academy. The two men before them, though younger than some of the seasoned Jounin, were experienced killers. They'd played their role in the destruction of Bakudon Gai, and slaughtered more than a handful of Leaf-nin and civilians. If May thought she was going to catch them in something as obvious as a light-bomb trap, she was sadly mistaken.

Truth was, they really didn't need to know exactly what the pouches contained or evolved into. Call it reckless, but their philosophy was to simply put it behind them. So, as she so conveniently threw them directly to their feet, a very casual jog forward - pursuing the delicious looking Nurse and the loud-mouthed shinobi - would put their eyes in a much safer line of vision. At most, the Suna-nin could feel the heat of the unnatural light against the back of their neck; however, it'd do very little to actually blind them.

As the trio retraced their footsteps, finding themselves parked in an alley, their two aggressors would take full advantage of the handful of seconds they'd be out of sight. The game was about to get a hell of a lot more interesting; the Suna-nin duo could only hope that they'd put up a fight. After all, it wasn't any fun when they got what they wanted so easily.

When May braved her growing fear and panic to poke her head around the corner in an attempt to see where her enemies had gone, she'd see nothing but an empty path. Their means of transportation and exactly how fast they were moving was irrelevant - neither the girl, child or nurse would've been able to track them from their current positions. Hell, they wouldn't even had heard a whisper of wind; the Sand-nin moved with a grace very few of the most experienced shinobi possessed, and their flawless teamwork only made them that more dangerous.

By the time May had begun to doubt herself, and the nurse just finishing her ridiculous spiel, one of the two would’ve made himself known on the edge of the roof just above their pretty little heads. The kunai in his left hand dangled on the tip of his index finger, the explosive note attached to its hilt waving in the violent winds comin’ from deep inside the city. “I’ll tell ya what to do, ya little cunt.”

“Take tha kid and leave that nurse will me, or I’ll drop this tag on ‘em and blow all three of you to itty-bitty pieces.” The grin on his lips was that of a psychopath. “My friend might’ve gotten bored and took off, but I ain’t leavin’ until I get my fix – ya’dig? And that big tittied whore yer tryin’ to protect looks like she fits the bill of exactly what I need. Now get ta steppin’ and let us grown folks handle business, otherwise yer gonna get hurt.”

The problem with being dressed the way she was (Tanbai) and sportin’ a snot-nosed little brat on your hip was obvious: you’d be slow, and all of your movements cumbersome. This put a lot of pressure on May to protect the both of them, and herself. Their assailant(s), however, didn’t have such a burden. If he did throw the kunai and explosive note, the chances of one of them – if not all three – being severely injured was at an all time high.

Hard times called for hard decisions, and half of the joy of this particular circumstance was whether or not the little kunoichi would take him up on his offer. Naturally, he didn't intend on lettin' any of them get away; however, it was a fact that mattered very little for the time being. "Whaddaya say? Sounds like a good deal to me."

That is, unless May had some clever ploy up her sleeves.

As soon as May quit talking, Tanbai was opening her mouth again. “Take that. Your sensei, he marked a spot on it. H-how close are we to it?” She said her words in a strained voice, she was obviously nervous. Taking the clipboard, she glanced at the area Tanbai was indicating. “The tunnels?” May stopped for a moment to consider this. “Well yeah, I know where they are, They’re all the way back the other way though. . towards the fire.” She shuddered, knowing that the things lurking in the fire’s heat were most likely deadly. “They’ve probably already been raided. . but I know another place, not exactly a tunnel, but it’s a different way to get out of the village.” May continued, practically mumbling to herself. She was talking about the older, closed down gate than no one ever used anymore. There were usually guards there, but the gate was sealed off and all that remained was the small guards watch tower and entry way. It might be possible to get through there, and maybe even to get to the tunnels if they took a detour. May stopped thinking about her current danger and started planning escape routes in her head. “And don’t go talking as if you have nothing to live for or that your responsibility is me. That’s not how it works.” Tanbai looked at May, her forehead crinkling and her face getting serious. She seemed very determined. “Seniority rules.” May too began to get serious, her mouth bending into a scowl. “You are an innocent citizen, people that us ninja have to protect. I’m trained to deal with these types of situations, and my duty is to help you escape and keep you and any other citizens alive. My responsibility is to this country, this village. My responsibility is to Konohagakure! Don’t tell me to act as if I have nothing to live for, I’d give my life for my home.” May was practically hissing at Tanbai, but she restrained herself and gave the sky cold eyes as she spoke again. “I owe this village my life.” She could have gone on and on about how her pride and joy was all here in Konoha, but Tanbai seemed to have a lot for questions. “What the hell is going on here anyway? Why are they here?” At this, May turned away, ashamed to have to say it. “Suna and Kiri are attacking us, it’s an invasion.” Again Tanbai talked about how she would stay behind and fight, which in May’s mind was ridiculous. Rolling her eyes she looked at Tanbai, practically begging her to understand her. “I’m not going anywhere, you don’t understand do you? I’m a solider, not just a little girl. Don’t doubt me yet, and sure as hell don’t talk to me about Plan B. We have no Plan B, I think I’m going to have to fight them.” It was true, May was scared, she was up against two, highly trained killers. It would take more than her normal energy to take both of them down, and despite her attitude towards Bai she couldn’t help but to take a liking to her and the little girl. She needed to protect the ones she loves, it’s the whole reason she decided to become a shinobi anyways. May’s deep train of thought was interrupted quickly, the same menacing, sickening voice coming from above her. Immediately May’s head shot up and she met the eyes of one of the Suna-ninja, his gaze fallowing her and Tanbai.

Stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid. May kept repeating those words in her head, hating her split second mistake. They obviously weren’t going to be driven off by a light bomb, she was taking them way to lightly. So lightly, that she actually thought she might be able to win against them.Don’t think like that. She reassured herself, cringing as the voice above her continued to talk. She hadn’t done anything besides keeping her guard up, she didn’t check for other chakra presences, didn’t look around all her surroundings, she only panicked, which she wouldn’t have if this were some other situation. “I’ll tell ya what to do, ya little cunt.” The rage that May pushed back came swelling back in her gut, and May let her fists curl up. “Take tha kid and leave that nurse will me, or I’ll drop this tag on ‘em and blow all three of you to itty-bitty pieces.” As he spoke, May did notice the shuriken dangling from his hand, and she kept herself from gaping by biting hard on her lip. IT was literally dangling off the tip of his finger, one movement could send it pummeling to their feet, were it would explode in their faces. She had not one plan. “My friend might’ve gotten bored and took off, but I ain’t leavin’ until I get my fix – ya’dig? And that big tittied whore yer tryin’ to protect looks like she fits the bill of exactly what I need. Now get ta steppin’ and let us grown folks handle business, otherwise yer gonna get hurt.” Just the fact that he had to mention his friend had “gotten bored” made May suspicious, and her sense ultimately picked up around her. He could be anywhere, ready for an ambush, and the man standing in front of her could just be a distraction, which meant that no matter where they ran, they’d still be in danger, maybe even more than they were already in.

Panic started to rise, but May pushed it back in. She had to act now, she needed to take action to delay the man, to give her just a little time to attack. Thinking hard as she stared him down, she could hear a whimper from behind her. Not only was her life at risk, but two others as well. It was all too much, but she was supposed to, needed to, save them all. Then it hit her, she might not be able to delay his reaction, but she was sure she could make the bomb blow up faster. Luckily, May tied a few explosive tags to her kunai before any day, in case she needed them. However she only had four kunai remaining, and if she used more than two she’d only have one remaining. But, she had no time to decide, tearing out two kunai she slipped her hands out form her gourd and threw them at him, again trying to make an escape, and turned to grab onto Tanbai, and grabbing her arm. But this time, she intended to leave a trap. Whether the kunai he was throwing came after them or not, if they moved fast enough it might explode before it got to them, because as she moved back, May turned around and let out a long, deep breath. Sparkling mist leaking from her mouth and into the atmosphere behind them.

You just keep it together okay? It wasn't you.’

Tick Tanbai felt her mind starting to snap as she attempted to restrain herself as she glanced down at May; She seemed to be lost in her own thoughts, hopefully forming some sort of plan for their escape. Secondly, Tanbai could only see one of them the other was missing; she doubted they could trust his words given their motive just moments before. More than likely the other was hiding somewhere or coming around for an ambush on them when they moved.

What the hell kind of deal was that?! And what was with this guy?! Tanbai’s inner struggle was on full force inside her head as she fought back for command. ’Ow! Bai! Stop bulling my hair or I will tit slap you!’ ‘Get the H-E-double hockey stick outta my seat! I need to have a CHAT with this cretin!’ ‘Bai I don’t think he wants to talk-‘ ‘Tough titty says the kitty! He’s getting it! Hopefully it’ll buy some time for Miss Ninja to get her damn act together!’ with that there was a hard yank as her inner mind was removed from base and Tanbai, now settled into the seat.

She didn’t necessarily get an answer back from him as she was suddenly yanked, not only from her mental controls but by the arm as well. ’Well at least she finally got her act together!’ Bai vented from the couch as she crossed her arms and legs with a huff. ’YOU are NOT helping! After that shit he’s probably going to shank us!’ her inner self raged from the controls as she did her best to move faster than the last time. Something must’ve been working, either her anger was fueling the fire or she found her second wind as the burn in her arms seemed to have become numb and her legs were moving in sure solid strides. ”So what’s the plan May or are you going to keep blowing smoke out your ass at him?” her inner self was beating Bai on the top of the head as she leaned in front of her speaking into the microphone. ”At this rate we’re all dead because I don’t have an unlimited supply of stamina here. I don’t want to die but I can’t keep running forever even if hell is on my heels.” she panted out ”Your plan better involve finding more ninja on our side.” She finished before pulling back and punching her inner self in the cheek. ’And stop hitting me on the head! That hurts!’ ‘Would you LISTEN to yourself!?’ ‘I Can’t! I’m too angry to give a hoot!’ she had nothing left to say other than to keep her eyes peeled for the other one or hopefully find some ninja of their own to come between them. ’You need a nap Bai.’ ‘I plan on it once we get to safety!’

The dark haired Suna-nin wasn't offended in the least by the big-tittied whore's rant. In fact, it kind of made him excited. All that cursin' and stompin' made her more desirable assets jiggle and sway, which was really all he figured she was good for. But, the time for games had come to a sudden end.

Before May would've even thought to throw her weapons, and more so before Tanbai could even finish her rant, the kunai hanging on the edge of his finger dropped.

But that wasn't the only thing that happened--

". . . Oh my god." Surprisingly, the explosive not didn't explode. The kunai simply fell against the ground, lifeless, as the Suna-nin rose his eyes to the sky above. It had quickly turned to night - no, it was something else. There was a meteor looming above, hastily making its way directly on top of them. "We're. . . dead."

Not even a good fuck was worth throwin' your life away for, this much he knew. Before anything else could be determined, the Suna-nin retreated.

If the women and children wanted to survive, they'd need to hit those tunnels fast. They only had a few seconds, at best.

Saying that she liked Tanbai may have been a mistake, because as May pulled her out of danger again, the little nurse continued to criticize her. “I’m doing the best I can!” She snapped, jerking Tanbai a little harder for emphasis, but before she could argue with her more, May noticed the path in front of her getting darker. “What the. .” Before she could say anything, threating screams and shrieks sounded all around her, but she couldn’t see anything – didn’t see anything. That’s when she shot her head up, and her eyes widened in terrifying fear. A huge piece of rock soared above, making its way to crush them. They weren’t going to make it, they were already dead, there was no way any of the three – Tanbai, May, and the poor little girl – were going to make it to the tunnels in time. They were nearly across the city, there was nothing they could do, and they would die. But May wasn’t ready, she had so much more to do for herself, so much to prove, and she held three lives in her hands, she was responsible for whether they made it or not. In the second she had to mourn, she had one extra second to get an idea, and to go through with it. She barely got out the words “Hold on tight.” before she was diving towards the ground, Tanbai and the little girls’ arms tight in May’s grip.

She had only done this technique a few times, and she hated every bit of it, it was difficult to breath underground and the dirt swallowing her up always made her uncomfortable and a bit queasy, but it was the only thing May could think of with such a short time to react, and frankly she was a little proud of her self. The tunnels ran all under Konoha and came up at two highly guarded entrances, and the only thing May could think of was to get to those tunnels immediately, by diving into the ground and hope she’d end up in one of the tunnels. She could feel Tanbai and the little girl squirming, maybe they were even trying to scream, but May ignore it and wouldn’t let, go, her nails digging into both of their skin so they wouldn’t get away. Diving through darkness was not a very good feeling, and May realized that she had no idea if they would end up in one of the tunnels. The farther she dove the more she realized that they could just being going down into the ground – and then an idea hit her. If she could bring her hands together, she could give out a pulse of chakra and search for another person, maybe someone passing through the tunnels. But that would be impossible, considering if she let go of Tanbai and the little girl they’d probably both die. Without May’s chakra flowing through them, their bodies would be eaten up by the soil. So, May needed a new plan, just on going wasn’t all that great, but there didn’t seem like any other way – WHAM!

Cold air prickled her skin and May no longer had the feeling of crumbling dirt scratching her skin. Hesitantly, May opened her eyes. They were so lucky. The three of them seemed to had tumbled out of the dirt wall and into the tunnel, where it was warm and bright. How there was electricity down this far, Amy would never know, but she didn’t question the light balls screwed into the hard packed rock above them. “Are you both a-alive?” May said softly, her voice coming out much, much waked than she intended. She glanced down at her body only to find herself covered in scratches, some even bleeding. The moments of adrenaline had been rushing through her body before, but now the fatigue she had avoided flooded over her, making her grimace with pain. Her muscles burned and her head pounded, this mush pain seemed almost impossible for her. Before she could hear if Tanbai said anything, she turned away and vomited on the ground, rolling onto her stomach and lying still. Her eyes began to blur, and despite all the pain she was feeling, the fact that they were mostly alive and not crushed under a giant boulder brought a different type of pride into her system.

OOC: Yeah, so, this probably isn’t possible, but I couldn’t think of anything else and through this sounded heroic XD Lawl, so, for the sake of May and Tanbai living I got uber creative >:D Also, I think we should continue this thread for plotting purposes. I mean it’s technically seven years alter but I’d like to have a ltitel longer with young May <3

Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu (Double Suicide Decapitation Technique)

Radar radius is circular, and measures equal to the user’s Earth Dominion. Description: A very basic earth technique, it allows the user to dive underground almost instantaneously so that they remain hidden from view in order to ambush their opponent. As long as the opponent is walking across the earth, they will be aware of their presence, and can wait patiently (without fear of asphyxiation!) until they right time, where they will emerge and latch onto the opponent’s legs. From here, they can easily suck them down, executing a replacement with them so that the opponent is buried underground up to his neck, while the user emerges unharmed above ground.

It was Spring. The warm breeze rolled by, carrying the fresh aromas of nature. A tiny little girl, with choppy chocolate brown hair sat in front of a stream, the stick in her hand tracing letters in the water. The forest around her seemed safe and warm, it didn’t seem dark and scary as it had only months later, when her parents were murdered. No, it seemed innocuous, and inviting, like the forest engulfing her wasn’t such a bad thing. At least that’s what little May though, she had no idea of the danger to come soon. Behind the little girl, a shadow moved, and as May watched herself from years ago she tensed. Then, realizing she could feel the grass, curl her fingers into the soft cool moss, she also noticed her body. This had to be a dream, for no Shinobi could time travel. But the air smelled like flowers, the breeze prickled her skin, and the fear balling up in her as she watched a shadow approach her younger self was definitely present. She would reach out and try to scream, but nothing came out. She would stand up and start running, only to stop when she’d see his face. She had almost forgotten it.

The dark silhouette was her father; a big, strong, yet nurturing man – nothing to be afraid of. He sneaked up on little May, and yelled something May couldn’t hear from where she was. The little girl, who screamed and curled away, began to laugh pleasantly as she was scooped up into her father’s arms, where she would snuggle up against him. Something warm ran down May’s cheek, and she wiped it away in frustration, for the two were now walking away. But she wanted to watch them forever, to see and experience that pure happiness. It was so distant, so far, that May would do anything to grasp it and cherish it forever. The thought, that she was once completely happy, was blissful and comforting. And as May watched her younger self and her father strut away, the view quickly changed and the setting seemed much darker.

In May’s view of sight, four figures stalked towards her. She was no longer in the meadow watching the ecstasy of her cheerier life, she was now deep within the forest, not too far from her home. Her automatic shinobi instincts caused her to slip behind a tree, peering out at the shadows who gradually got closer. Then they were blobs, and May knew who they were just from looking at their hair – it was pure white and glimmered in the faint sunlight. Some of the heaviest anger rose up inside of her, and she literally burst through the trees and ran straight for them, pulling out two kunai and thrust them both in their direction, the knifes soaring through the air by passing right through them. Enraged, May looked down at her clenched hands, and noticed they were slightly transparent. It was like she was a ghost.

But this wouldn’t stop her, she made her way right in front of them, but they kept walking, not seeing her. May threw her arms at them, screamed and tried to push them away – and she could feel them. The man’s broad chest connected with every one of Mays hits, but he didn’t flinch at all, and he continued to walk, nearly knocking over May. Furious , she would try anything to stop them. Turning toward a tree, she reached out and kicked it as hard as she could. Pain shot through her body, but nothing happened, nothing broke. She would have kicked it again if her vision hadn’t started to blur and her surroundings change, it was the same sensation from before. “No!” She screamed, not wanting to let the family get to her’s first. “Not yet!” By this time, tears were rolling down her cheeks, and the ache that had been silenced within her began to well back up again. She couldn’t do anything to save them, she just had to watch it all over again.

As the setting changed, May found herself sitting in a corner of an attic, faced with her younger self who sat perched near the hold she had made herself. May knew what little May was doing, she was watching, as her parents were murdered, and yet despite her age she was just sitting there, slumped up against the wall. Little May didn’t move, nor did she speak, she just sat there, her back to May. But Amy knew what she was doing. She was sobbing, her tears making a small puddle near her feet. As much as May wanted to burst downstairs and save her parents, she knew it was too late, and she knew that she wanted to do something else.

In that part of her childhood, May had felt utterly alone. All by herself in the attic, knowing there was no one left for her to run crying to. Thus she sat there, tears running down her cheeks, the hole inside her beginning to form. May knew what she had wanted at that moment, she wanted her mother’s warmth and her father’s smile. She wanted to be reassured that everything was going to be alright, that this was all just a dream. For a split second May wished hard that it was, but was then moving towards her younger, delicate body.

The only thing she could think of was to plop down next to younger May, and draw her into her arms. Even though the fair haired family couldn’t see her nor know she was there, Little May looked up into her older self’s eyes and knew who she was. She pulled herself into May’s lap, and grasped onto her shirt, muffling her now violent crying. At that moment, May realized she too was crying. She was crying hard, and thought silent, it was the type of crying that got into your gut and made your entire body shake. She hadn’t cried at the funeral, she hadn’t cried on her parent’s birthdays , nor did she cry on the anniversary of their deaths. She kept it inside, all welled up, it was about time for her to explode. And although she thought maybe she’d feel better afterward, but during her short breaths and masses of tears, she only felt more pain. Loud stomping from her right made her turn quickly, and she knew what was going to happen next. She didn’t want to see it of course, since she had experienced some of the worst pain in her life, so luckily the vision began to fade and a picture of a worried nurse came into view.

May knew she was back, the cold air and the pain in her lungs were more than enough to assure her she was dreaming. Tanbai sat over her, cradling her head in her lap and stroking May’s hair. She would open her mouth and say she was fine, if she could have even made words. Instead she just let out graons, and was later hushed by Bai. “Shhh, child.” She hummed, and May’s vision became clearer. They were in the tunnel, and May was on the ground, next to her sat the little girl, staring intently at the ground and holding her knees. “You’re alright now.” Tanbai assured her, and May lifted her hand to her cheek, carefully touching it. There was dirt and other grude there, but something felt hot and wet. “A-am I. . “ She breathed, closing her eyes are trying to swallow. Her throat was very dry, and with her eyes closed a water jug was brought to her lips. She drank greedily, but pushed away when she had had enough, and tried to speak again. “A-a-am I b-bleeding?” She stuttered, no aware of how she even had gotten this was. Tanbai just looked down at her with a sad expression, and continued to stroke her hair. “You were crying in your sleep.” She said, and Amy had never felt more exposed in her life.
