He wasn't in awe, but he had all reason to be. Thriving was the word for the village. Prosperous even, the more he took it in. The weather, bright and sunny gave the area a warm feeling, but not from the sun, from the people themselves. Citizens were smiling, buying from markets and talking ever so contently. Akio himself looked everywhere he could, turning his head slowly constantly. Ninja were moving with messages, their allegiance branded on their Konoha headbands.
It was foreign to Akio. The Land of Iron, home of the Samurai was run militarily. You woke up by your blade, were with the blade through the day, and slept by your blade. Menial tasks, like message delivery, were not typically reserved for Akio or any of the other clansmen. Here though, the ninja seemed happy to be on the move on a task without combat. In fact, EVERYONE seemed happy here. It was foreign. But it was also pleasant.
"Truly, the guards are well trained and respectful."
He was right. " The guards at Kirigakure denied me passage, quite rudely mind you, saying they had a situation. Either the guards are more lenient at Konoha as a whole, or something has changed."
Akio too kept his eyes open for wrongdoings, but found none. Konoha's crime and mischief on the surface, was very clean.
"I wonder if there's a shop around that offers sweet leaf."
"We'll have to look around, we don't know our way through these streets. Although I could use a good bowl of ramen."
He stated this while looking to the Hokage Tower. Large and imposing, the focal point of the village it was common knowledge that the Hokage would reside there, and that it served as the village hub. He had a small urge to see inside the building to take note of the architecture
