Squid for Brains [Mission]

description; One of our more unique specimens, the Kalimari Man is a weird squid like humanoid we came across while exploring the coastline of the continent. Expect to face a series of sticky tentacled attacks and be wary of his blinding ink shot. His stretchy five meter arms will definitely come in handy but as thin as he is, the six foot creature shouldn’t be that big of a problem.

At Mizukage tower, a 'Kalimari Man' was reported to be bothering travelers throughout Mizu no Kuni. Whether the creature was actually human was an unknown fact, since it seemed capable of shifting back and forth between a more humanoid form, and that of a Squid. Perhaps this person had a portion of the Hachibi's chakra, or perhaps this was some other type of creature entirely. Clearly, the people at the tower did not believe this person had part of the Hachibi's power, otherwise, why would they be willing to send only one Genin?

That was Jett's hope, anyway, as he set off for the task, heading out of the village with all he could carry. Once out of the village, he headed to the last place the creature was sighted. If there was anyone there, he could get some further information on the creature, and perhaps find out where it had gone from there.

He would not get that far, however. The Kalimari Man was headed straight for Kirigakure, and got the jump on Jett as he bounded from tree to tree. The man leaped onto a branch, forcing Jett to make a sudden shift in weight and direction, to move off to the side, and not collide with him. Before Jett could react, and tell him to watch his place (not yet knowing it was the Kalimari Man) the man's two arms reached out for Jett. Hands grasped Jett's arms, extended and morphed into three tentacles each, and shoved Jett back to the trunk of a tree. The tentacles, just as mentioned earlier, lengthened to about five feet in length, each.

"Aha! Some new prey..." the man muttered. Jett looked here and there, wondering what to do, and what this guy was up to. The suckers on the tentacles began to ... well, suck ... at Jett, and he could feel his energy slowly dissipating.

Lightning sparked, and metal scraped, as Jett withdrew one of his kodachi, charging it with lightning as he spun it out of its sheath. The lightning chakra would allow him, with less ease of movement, to still slice through those tentacles. Four of them were sliced free, falling to the ground below, as he landed on the branch smoothly. The tentacles below did not shift to any other appearance, but the Kalimari man's arms did return to normal, save a few bloody wounds along his arms where the extra tentacles sprouted from.

The kodachi was sheathed, as Jett took a step forward. "Alright now, this does not need to get any more physical, just surrender, and come with me back to Kirigakure where you will answer for your crimes."

The man snarled, and hissed. "You people think you own these waters, but I am not alone. Even if you kill me, there will be others to exact our revenge. But, you need not worry about that, for you won't be killing me here." The man pushed his arms out again, once more additional tentacles forged forth from his two arms. Jett huffed, leaping from the tree before they could snag him this time. The tentacles smashed the tree, causing a portion of the bark to cave inward. His tentacles were stuck for a moment, as Jett lept from one branch to another, till he was behind the Kalimari Man.

Jett launched himself towards the Kalimari man, his hand gripping firmly at the hilt of his sword. Lightning chakra crackled about his hand, as he neared the his target. The sword was swung out, removed from its sheath and striking in the same motion.

The squid's tentacles dug deeper into the trunk of the tree, weaving its way to a center. Once there, chakra built up from within the Squid. Once Jett got closer, ink shot out. From where, Jett couldn't tell, forced to stop in his tracks, skidding on the branch, before bringing a hand up to wipe the ink away. Lucky for him, he had closed his eyes in time, and just needed to get the ink away from his eyes, so it would not drip into them. However, the Squid wasn't waiting. "Suiton: Suiryudan!" Water rushed around Jett, from where and to where he could not tell, but eventually, the water rushed around him. Yes, it washed away the ink, but it also knocked him off the tree, and he would land amidst the severed tentacles on the ground.

It still took a moment, but when Jett could see again, he would look upward to find the Squid leaping down at him. Water was on the ground all around him, a large puddle about him, and water even hung in the air in the mist that permeated the area now. The Squid, as he came hurtling downward, was preparing again. Chakra was building up. "Suiton: Mizurappa!"

With water all around, and water heading right for him, it did not take much thought. Jett simply sheathed his sword, and raised his arm, his hand held out towards the Squid. Lightning chakra built up, and fired off in short bursts from his fingertips in rapid succession. The lightning would shoot through the air, cutting through the wave of water heading his way, sending the water in various directions, but also electrifying the water, all the way back to the Squid's mouth.

The Squid would be electrified from the inside out, and would collapse to the ground before Jett. Jett took a heavy sigh of relief that such was over, but would still rest a moment before gathering the Kalimari man, and all his severed tentacles, packing what he could into a satchel, before dragging the guy back to Kirigakure, and to Mizukage Tower. The fight had been slightly harder than expected, but overall, was still easy enough. Of course, that was predicated on his opponent not being very smart.

"He is not the only one. Apparently there is more, how many more I do not know, but this problem will persist. Perhaps, with a team, I could route out their whole group?" he suggested with an uplifted inflection in his tone, as to suggest he wished to be part of a team. He doubted they could route out the whole group so easily though, not knowing how many there were in total.

Nevertheless, given a team or not, once had finished Jett turning the man over, to be interrogated or chopped up for dinner that night... Jett would head back to his home, to rest before his next mission, whether it was alone again or with a team. He would not argue either way, the missions helped his training, and helped the village, and he got paid for it as well. Win-win-win situation.
