Unusual Match-up [Mission]

An arena battle was the mission, to test one's prior training. The battle before him was an odd one. Apparently it was to be a huge rhino. Was it a summoned creature, or simply some random rhino that had by chance grown so large. He heeded the warning, large, tough and strong. While it would not be swift, one blow would cause harm, requiring Jett to be the swift one. He saw this as a golden opportunity to test and further train his own speed.

He would heed the warning, and prepare himself for the battle. Once he was done preparing, he would head to the arena to take part in the battle. He stood quietly, in place, looking around. Eventually another person would come out, setting out a scroll to summon forth the creature. It let out a roar once it appeared, rearing its head back in the process. Jett could not help but take a step back in response.

"I listened to the warnings about this creature, yet it's still something you can't really imagine, or compare to actually seeing it."

He reached a hand down for his Kunai, prepared to initiate combat as he eyed the rhino. Steam puffed out from the rhino's nostrils, as its eyes focused on Jett. Before Jett could move, it would move, heading straight for him. Jett's eyes widened, seemingly unable to act in time. The beast moved faster than was expected. The rhino would crash through Jett, into the wall behind him. A gasp filled the arena. Had he been crushed already?

As rock crumbled and fell from the walls, and silence took the arena, Jett darted out from the wreckage, weaving amidst the giant rhino's legs, and manuevering behind it. He hadn't caught its attention yet, its face still buried in the wall. "Well, that big guy is way faster than he looks..." Jett muttered to himself.

"The great and powerful Yogiri Jett, struggling against a simple beast."

Jett ignored the voice in his head, and extended his right hand, directing it towards the rhino's body as he charged up his chakra. Without the need for any seals, that charged up chakra would release in small, thin beams emanating from his fingers. The would strike, in rapid succession, along the rhino's body as he made his way around behind it.

Eventually, it would pull its head from the wall, glancing back to Jett, and would slowly begin moving to face him again. However, Jett's natural speed, combined with a thrown in Shunshin no Jutsu, would keep him out of the rhino's reach. Eventually, he would make a half circle's movement, and he would begin running up along the wall, heading back to his original point. Once he was over the rhino, he would once more pull in his chakra, and without seals channel it into his weapons. He would take his kunai, tossing them at the rhino's head, as he drew one of his kodachi, and fed chakra into it. He pushed off the wall, leaping at the rhino's head.

The rhino charged forth once more, and rammed its head to the wall. Another large rumble would echo within the arena, as again the rhino's face was buried in the wall. Another gasp filled the air, as the dust and smoke that surrounded the rhino's front half obscured sight of what happened between him and Jett once more.

The lightning chakra channeled into the kunai shattered the rhino's horn on contact, and kept going to jab into the rhino's face, right between its eyes. Through the smoke created by the battered wall, only those with exceptional eyes could see it. On such person in the stands saw it, and what happened next in full clarity, relaying such events before the smoke even cleared.

The kunai shattered the rhino's horn, and stuck into its face, between its eyes. Jett's feet landed at the base of those kunai, pushing them deeper into the rhino's skull before he flipped over the rhino's head, in the air, and landed on its back as it crashed into the wall. He spun on his heels, and withdrew his other kodachi, and channeled his chakra into it as well. Both blades imbued with lightning chakra, he jabbed them both down into the back of the rhino's neck, dug deep, and whipped his arms outward, to draw a long gash along the back of the rhino's neck.

When the smoke had cleared, Jett had already lept back from the rhino, landing smoothly on the ground a few feet back. The rhino fell to the ground, and cheers would ring out in the air. Jett sheathed his blades, and noted he would have to buy some new kunai, since he did not feel like digging through rhino brains to retrieve the ones he had used. He turned, to walk back out of the battle grounds, and speak with those that had set him on this mission, when the rhino got back to its feet, shaking its head. Apparently it had collapsed from the daze of hitting its head to the wall twice, more so than the damage Jett had inflicted. He sensed this immediatly when the crowd gasped again, and the ground began to shake, as the beast charged at him once more.

This time, the beast did not seek to use its head to bash the boy into the wall, but instead moved about, trying to trample him. Shunshin no jutsu kept him slightly ahead, but he would need more than that in time. Soon, Jett was forced to draw his swords once again, and channeled his chakra into them, as he leapt up into the air, using the rhino's own legs for support in the next leap. Once he was ready, he would lash out again. He slashed at the backs of the rhino's knees, and at the joint between leg and torso before leaping away again.

The rhino collapsed again, but this time with tendons, joints, and muscle cut, there would be no way it was going to get up again. This time, Jett was able to leave the main battle area, and head inside the arena to return to those in charge of the set up.

Jett would be congratulated for the fight, but deep down inside, he knew he still needed work. He needed to study up further on strategies, and prepare better in the future, for more equipment, so he could set up better traps. That, and he really needed to focus on strengthening his Lightning use and capabilities. In short, he needed to be stronger.
