The oldest was laughing hysterically well the others threw small stones at a old lady trying to buy her groceries. Luckily, the group had horrible aim but still she was disgusted with the lack of respect. Soon the kids got tired of the old women and left to go steal from various stores and probably vandalize a few shop walls as well. Reiko walked over to the old women who was picking up some tomatoes she had dropped in shock. She looked up at Reiko with a frightened expression on her face, probably expecting to be tormented some more. "I wont hurt you. I just came to see if you were okay." The old women relaxed at the Inuzukas words, letting down her shoulders and even smiling a bit. She bent over and picked up the last tomato, dusting it off with her sleeve and putting it back into the bag. She smiled and nodded before quickly walking off. Reiko sighed and looked around for the kids one last time. She was upset with them for being disrespectful and probably scaring the poor old lady for the rest of her life. She couldn't find them, so she called Arashi and walked toward the mission tower. She analyzed the weather well she walked. It was a fairly typical day in Kiri, mist and clouds. The clouds were a dark charcoal color and looked as if they were going to start raining anytime. Reiko started running, not wanting to get caught up in the rain. She arrived at her destination in plenty of time and took the stairs two at a time. On a usual day, she would of been at least an hour late but incident with the children and the old lady had made her want to get busy with something to keep her mind occupied. The guards said nothing about Reiko's troubled expression but instead handed her a scroll. She skimmed through it and broke out into a grin when she saw what it was. Teach kids a lesson? Perfect. Her day had just gotten a hundred times better. She slipped handed the guard the mission scroll quickly and ran off to the Academy, where she was too talk to them. It took about five minutes to get there since the academy was across town but Reiko wasn't tired, in fact she was excited. She walked to the main office and knocked politely on the door. There was a crashing sound and a small mph before a tall man, who was rubbing his head, answered. "You must be here to teach the kids or whatever it was. Room four." he pointed down the hallway and slammed the door. Reiko sighed and shook her head, walking in the direction the man pointed too. She and her ninken, Arashi, found it and opened the door. Sitting in the chairs with shocked expressions on their faces was the kids throwing rocks at the old lady early. "The same bunch of brats I wanted to see. Perfect." Word Count: 515

The youngest looking boy was about ten, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He clutched his arms to his chest and shook a little. Reiko narrowed her eyes. The boy looked scared, what was he doing here? She continued to examine them. All of the others didn't looked scared, but a little bit smug. One of them eyed Arashi and quickly averted his eyes, as if the wolf was the one to be scared about right now. It was totally silent except for the groups breathing until one of the boys spoke up. "Can we get this over with already? I have a tight schedule." Reiko's eyes went big and her mouth fell open a little bit. She then burst out laughing. "Y...Y-You have a t-t-t-ight schedule! Your not even a shinobi yet!" she managed to choke out between fits of laughter. The boy glared and crossed his arms but didn't say anything. The littlest boy smiled a little bit and relaxed his shoulders. She walked over to him, putting a hand on his shoulder and leaning down to be at eye-level. Arashi walked over and rested her head on the boys lap. His eyes went wide and he looked at Reiko in shock. She nodded to say it was alright and began to pet the ninken. The boy smiled and pat the wolf on the head. Arashi licked his cheek and wagged her tail. Reiko stood up and walked to the front of the room, getting serious now. "You all need to pay attention. Now, your young. You have an entire life ahead of you and your ruining it with the choices you make. In the end it's your decision what path you will take but I'm here to help you take the right one. Follow me." The group hesitated before standing up and follow after Reiko who had already left. They walked through town silently until they reached one of the many training fields. It was raining heavily now but she didn't mind. The Inuzuka had strange ways of teaching somebody a lesson but had good meaning behind it. She was able to make them stand in the pouring rain for ten minutes without sitting or talking before the children started to complain. "Quit talking! You will stand out here for a full half hour. Thats twenty more minutes for those of you who don't understand math because you skip school. I have my reasons" Some of them looked like they were going to cry, but said nothing. After the full half hour was up, she allowed them to leave. The group went back to the room at the Academy. All of the children where soaked and freezing cold. She instructed them to squeeze out as much water as possible from their clothes and then sit down and listen. The floor was now covered in water, but Reiko didn't care. She pulled a chair beside her and got Arashi to sit on it so the ninken wouldn't freeze her paws and started her lecture. "Was that fun?" A boy with ginger colored hair went to answer but Reiko cut him off. "Rhetorical question, brat. That means don't actually answer. I know it wasn't fun and that was the point. Can one of you tell me what the point of being a shinobi is? That was an actual question. I want an answer." The ginger haired boy from before raised his hand. Reiko nodded, encouraging him to speak. He cleared his throat and tried to squeeze a bit more water from his shirt before speaking. "To make people scared of you, so that they will do whatever you want." he said in a smug voice. Reiko shook her head and thumped her foot on the ground, trying to keep her patience. Some people were, sadly, like that. To them they would give up all relationships for power and control. Those were the people Reiko couldn't stand. Those whos greed caused war and made hundreds or even thousands of innocent people suffer over a petty piece of land or money. Hate could only lead to more hate. "Here is what we're going to do. Everybody make a circle. Then, I want each of you to name somebody who is important to you such as a pet, friend or family member." The littlest boy who had pet Arashi before had a dog he too loved. Once all of them had finished, Reiko asked what they would do if the loved one was in danger. The boys took a minute to think it over. In the end , though, they said that they would help them out. "You know that old lady you threw rocks at earlier? She was somebodys loved one. " None of them understood what she was trying to say at first. They looked around at each other and shrugged. They looked to Reiko for a clue but she said nothing, waiting for them to figure it out on their own. The littlest boy whispered something and the group turned to look at him. He blushed and wrapped his arms around himself in embarrassment. Then, he said something that made Reiko smile. "The ol' lady had somebody to care about her too. So, we shoulda been nicer, cuz' if that was my grandma I would of been angry." The other boys nodded in agreement, finally understanding a part of what Reiko was trying to tell them. She was glad that maybe the children could grow into something to be proud of and not reckless little brats causing trouble. "Yes, that is correct. Being a shinobi is difficult , one of the reasons being just that. You must learn to kill without giving a single thought about who will miss your target. Half the time you won't even know the name of the people you kill. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't become a ninja. Sometimes death for one person will save many more. It's part of sacrifice. The reason I made you stand out into the rain was to understand that. Don't understand? Let me explain." She stood up and pulled out her katana holding it to Arashis throat. Some of the groups gasped well others just stared in shock. The littlest boy, whos loved one was a dog, jumped up and screamed. "Don't do it!" Word Count: 353

She removed the katana from Arashis neck and slipped it back into its holster, still holding the boy down with one hand. When he calmed down she released him and walked to the front of the room. "Lets say, for example, somebody said they would kill my ninken if I didn't stand out in the rain for half an hour. Its a bad example, but just think about it." The oldest boy spoke up suddenly. "I.. I think I understand. You must sacrifice something for the good of others." he smiled and stood up, raising his hand into the air. "From now on, I'm going to try hard! I won't skip school or steal or .. throw rocks at somebodys granny!" The other boys stood up and repeated his sentence, all of them high fiving each other. Reiko grinned and opened the door. "I'm done here. Remember what you've learned today." she gave the group one last smile and walked out. Before she left the academy she decided to pay the cranky guy a visit. Reiko knocked on his door and opened it before he had a chance to answer. He jumped up and pointed at her, about to yell for just walking right in. She waved him away and smirked. "Clean up in the room the kids were in. I recommend a mop and a giant sponge." The man looked baffled, but Reiko just left without another word. She was now in a good mood. Even if it was only a small group of children, she was glad that her words and punishment had made them re think what they were doing. Thats five more people with promising futures that would grow up to be promising ninja. Maybe only five, but it was a good start. /exit. Word Count: 310
