The Call of Duty [Mist Ninja]

Productivity. That one phrase -for the most part- seemed to be the very foundation of Ju's life. However, what he deemed productive would have undoubtedly registered as immoral and unacceptable to those outside of Mizu no Kuni's military. Killing a kage to stir up the peace and discreetly bring fame to Kirigakure? Productive. Getting drunk and leaving his seed between the legs of a woman? Productive. No matter what it is he had done or even planned to do, in Ju's mind, it was productive, even the meeting of mist shinobi that (apparently) had been taking place. Late as usual, Ju lackadaisically strolled through the village streets while chewing on a stem of wheat. His head panned left, right, up and down, even back over his shoulder with a inherent paranoia that only soldier would have obtained through his career.

"Wonder what all this is about. . ."

After only a few minutes of peaceful travel, Ju stepped through the buildings entrance and soon realized that the "meeting area" was utterly empty - odd. Nevertheless, the insides were filled with round tables and chairs that were scattered throughout the room. Moving towards the middlemost table, Ju seated himself as the sound of his clattering armour snapped echoed through the room. Sitting in a nonchalant, laid-back fashion, he merely waited for the others that were expected to arrive. Looking around, he noticed the building hadn't been in the best of shape, in fact, compared to the living quarters of the Kushinada family, it was almost infuriating.

"Hope these morons don't take too long. . ."

She placed it on the counter and slid off the stool. The Inuzuka had just finished yet another bowl of Ramen, this being about her sixth this week. It wasn't that she couldn't cook, it was just much simpler to order take out then go through the process of cooking it yourself. That and Reiko hadn't been shopping in a long time. Alongside her ninken, Arashi, Reiko strolled through town. They where supposed to be having a meeting someplace but she hadn't quite made it there yet. After a few minutes of silent walking they made it to their destination. She lightly knocked on the door of the building and waited a few seconds. There was no sound beyond the door. Arashi whimpered and clawed at the door as if to say to just go through. Reiko did just that, hoping that nobody would care. Inside the hallway she heard a shuffling sound inside one of the rooms and a voice, "Hope these morons don't take too long. . ." She scowled at that. "Morons, huh? " she snapped and flung the door open. "Boo!"

She had been there the whole time.

It had only been minutes before the meeting was scheduled that she had only woken up. The green LED lights were trying to tell her something, but in this state it was impossible to make them out. It took about a solid thirty seconds of squinting before the numbers became clear. The realization was met with a gasp, Kirino jumping from her bed (and falling flat on her face) all in one fluid motion. After writing on the floor for a few seconds, she made her way through the "streamlined" version of her regular wake-up routine, cutting her shower time in half, and donning only a clean white tank top and and red, loose fitting track pants. Running out the door, she managed to get her still wet hair into a sloppy ponytail, and made her way to the facility at a brisk jogging pace.

It wasn't until she had made her way inside the facility that a clock hung on the wall allowed a sigh of relief. Kirino was anything but late apparently. Making a mental note to change the time on her alarm at home, she looked around the room. Empty for the time being, naturally. Kiri nin weren't know for being on time, that was for sure. Noting the extra time available, she began exploring the other rooms of the facility, which ultimately consisted of just some storage rooms in the back, and a kitchen. With food on the mind, Kirino searched for something to eat, but to no avail. It was during this search that she heard a sound from the main room. Naturally, her reaction was to squeal, afraid she had been caught digging through cupboards. Covering her mouth with a hand, she looked around the room, then gave a sigh. It was probably just her new squadmates. Taking a deep breath, she made her way to the main room through a secondary entrance, making her exclamation promptly.

Before Kirino could even look over the man who was already sitting in the room, the front door slammed open, drawing her attention. A woman entered, appearing to already be upset. Did something happen? She posed a question, which puzzled Kirino, but provoked no response. Perhaps she had a feud with the man in the middle of the room? The man was much older than the girl, as was Kirino (though she still appeared to be in her teens, by all means), so that was a bit odd. It was never a good idea to be so confrontational to an elder, but then again, the girl didn't appear to be the "respectful type."

Kirino gave a weak smile, hoping to stay out of any potential conflict for the time being, at least. That said, she was more than prepared to break the two up, which was basically an inevitability. These two clearly had very strong personalities, and chances were it would be Kirino doing all of the peace keeping, provided their "team leader" didn't show up in the next few moments.

Fortunately, Kirino wouldn't need to do any of the peacekeeping at all. They'd all sit the fuck down and shut the fuck otherwise, otherwise they'd find themselves on the business end of the only real relic still dwelling within Kirigakure: Hebi. It was that simple -- they'd pay attention or they'd get the boot, and the boot coming from a giant (literally) was never a good thing.

The figure that entered the facility shortly after Kirino was monstrous, considerably taller than even his distant cousin despite the similarity in age. There was only one man in the village who boasted such an impressive physique, one they all should have know quite well -- it was their own Mizukage.

"Alright," he spoke briskly, eyeing each individual carefully. "The three of you are here because you'll be servin' directly under me. That's right -- this section of HYDRA will be the Mizukage's team." The hat hanging about the small of his back was testament to his role as their current ruler, though it noway made their staying here absolute.

"Just in case none of you know me," he continued, "Lets get some things out of the way. You've been selected because somehow, someway, you complement your partners' abilities. That means that even if you don't like to fight, you can, and you probably have the potential to do so quite well." He stepped closer as he spoke, clearly having no intention on lowering her booming voice of pure bass.

"Moving on, I don't like quitters -- I can't stand them." Tilting his head, he glanced at the two females. "You quit and I'll kill you myself. If I'm not there, your partners are instructed to slay you." Steel eyes slid to Chae Yoon. "That goes for all of you."

"Along with quitting, I can't stand failure. Failure is never an option for you. Presuming I send you out on a mission, you'd better not come back until it's complete. I don't care if it takes you six months or a year - before you enter the borders of Mizu no Kuni, it'd better be completed." Rolling his shoulders and cracking his knuckles."You aren't regular ninja anymore -- you're HYDRA operatives. I'll be sending you on missions from the lowest of the low, to assassinate prominent figures of other villages. No matter what your mission, I expect success."

The door he'd entered was still ajar, and with a half-turn he motioned toward it. "Now, no one has a knife to your throat. If you don't think you'll be able to hack it, now is the only chance I'll give you to leave. If you're alright with a life of mediocrity, that's the road to go."

He glance fell back upon them like a mountain. "Otherwise, do I make myself clear on all of the rules and what I'll expect of you?"

After having made his annoyance regarding the lateness of his comrades known, Ju's head snapped back over his shoulder as the door slammed open. A near blinding light escorted the woman into the facility and after it dampened, Ju noticed that she carried an expression that hadn't seemed peaceful, almost as of she had a bone to pick him. About a second prior to her over-the-top arrival, she repeated his light insult, questioning it as if she wanted some sort of confirmation. Thereafter, another seemed to have slipped into the facility unnoticed, that is until she moved into the main area where the collection of ninja were expected to meet. Truly wanting to reassure the questioning girl that he meant what he said, Ju turned his head back around and away from the door. Kids. Finally, after Kirino managed to get herself situated, the last and final piece stepped through the doors - Akira.

Having known Akira for many years and respected him as both a ninja and a family member, it had only been natural that he turned his entire being to face Akira properly. Speaking briskly, Akira looked over his soon-to-be HYDRA operative team and went on to break down the components and purpose of their meeting. Continuing on, Akira motioned towards prohibiting the option of "quitting" and looked directly to Ju thereafter, making it explicitly known that despite being family, he hadn't been exempt from the rules. With a few moments of speech under Akira's belt, he came to a close while concurrently moving back towards the slightly opened door. Menacingly, he looked back to make sure everything that left his mouth from start to finish was crystal clear.

"Yeah, we got yer message nice and clear. Now, I don't mean to be overly hasty, but what're we doin' next? "

She glared at one of the others in the room as he voiced his annoyance quite loudly. Another girl popped up suddenly, almost knocking Reiko out of her chair. She hadn't seen her come in or sense her chakra. Grunting, she adjusted her position on the chair and rested her hand on Arashi. The wolf growled in annoyance for no particular reason, but sensing that her master was annoyed she began to feel that way too. A large man, in height and muscles, walked in. Reiko stared at him for a moment before realizing that the man was actually the Mizukage. He spoke or rather , yelled, at them for a few minutes. He started off with a simple introduction that wasn't really an introduction at all because he never said his name and ended off with pretty much a "I will not accept failure, get the job done or get the hell out." When the Mizukage finished his speech, the other team member spoke up. It was the one who had pissed Reiko off before by calling them morons. "Yeah, we got yer message nice and clear. Now, I don't mean to be overly hasty, but what're we doin' next? " he asked with a sly look in his eye. The Inuzuka disregarded it, deciding she didn't really care, and went back to poking around in her ninkens fur. She then shot up suddenly, opening her mouth and blurting out, "Yeah, what are we going to do now that we're in teams, anyway?" The Kage entered, bringing Kirino's to full attention, turning from her new squadmates to the large man now among them. Her first motion was a swift, respectful bow, followed by the pulling out of a chair from the table it was placed under and seating herself. Her shoulders moved back as her spine straightened out. Kirino had always looked up to her Kage(s), despite their repeated disappearances, deaths, and the like. They had earned their position, and earned the respect that came with it, which Kirino certainly gave. This understanding of subordination was one of the very few reasons Kirino had actually managed to move up in rank and get jobs outside of killing frogs.

Hands on her knees, she attentively listened and took in each word Akira spat out. He was very straight to the point, prompt, no different from any previous Mizukage. What he informed them of came of no surprise, really. Their squad had been handpicked for their individual traits, and Kirino didn't expect any less of her Kage. His very stern stance on failure came across clear as well. Goto took a moment to glance to the other two in the room after this was mentioned, having to ask her self if she could trust these people. Of course, she had little choice, but seeds of doubt could be the difference between life and death in particular situations. Hopefully the others would prove themselves sooner rather than later, so such could be avoided. That, and the way the Kage looked at the man covered in massive armor was a bit odd.

The only thing that caught Kirino off guard was the fact she would actually be personally working under the Kage. It was a true honor, and it took a substantial amount of focus for Goto not to break out grinning. Finally, she was getting some real responsibility! It was an exciting concept, but that said, her bar for excitement had always been fairly low.

"Yes sir!"

She stood up from her chair, giving a firm nod. Following this, the other two came forward with their own... unique acknowledgement. Impatient was an understatement! In her best attempt to make light of the situation, she gave the Kage a look of amused confusion. Perhaps he was more informal than most people in similar high positions, but Kirino wasn't going to take any risks.

Akira's head tilted to the side, his brow lofted and his eyes glazed with intrigue. They were a fairly eager bunch (the two of them, at least), weren't they? Unfortunately, their team leader wasn't your run in the mill Jounin. Chae Yoon should have known better than to bite at the steak before it was ready -- that's how dogs got slapped with a rolled up news paper!

His leg moved so fast the momentum caused the appendage to move, foreshadowed by the thunderous boom that echoed as the sole of his foot slammed into the edge of a table directly in front of him. Easily weighing in at over a hundred pounds, the wooden slab ripped through the air like a bat out of hell, aimed directly for the armored man's torso. Fully expecting the counter, however, Akira's smile only grew wider.

"You'll shut your damn traps until I'm finished talkin'," he'd chirp, his tone clearly showing no signs of his violent temperance. "You of all people should know I don't like being interrupted," again his gaze would've fallen on Chae Yoon, wherever he might've been after his little date with the table. Akira saw no reason to bring up their blood relation.

"Now, I already know who you are and what you're capable of. And since you two," he nodded toward Chae and Reiko, "Are so anxious, I guess we'll skip the warm-up."

Akira's gaze steeled. "I want the Kazekage's right hand." It was a simple, clean order. "You are to leave any and all equipment implicating Kirigakure here, within the village. Likewise, presuming you are unable to avoid capture, I fully expect you to take your own life for the sake of our security. Furthermore, it is your duty, as a HYDRA operative, to kill your teammate if they are unable to avoid capture and incapable of taking their own life."

"This is a s-ranked mission, and should you return, the rewards will be substantial." Crossing his arms over his muscled chest, he smirked. "Any questions?"

Out of the existing Kushinada, Ju had been known -or would soon be- as the more, mellow and "laid-back" part of the family, as well as purposely pushing the buttons of his peers. Grinning like a child in a candy store, he watched Akira's magnificent body go to work with the collision of his foot and the edge of a table. Fortunately, Akira hadn't been the only ninja who devoted all of their time and energy into turning the human body into a destructive tool. Without further ado, Ju saw the wooden slab that sprung forward towards him and acted accordingly. Armoured with the most expensive and durable armour, a simple, but powerful, horizontal wave of his right arm shattered and re-directed the table elsewhere, namely off to the side away from everyone else.

Respectively, ju's smile widened and matched Akira's own as he spoke yet again, demanding that everyone would remain quiet until he finished. Within seconds, he motioned towards taking the right hand of the Kazekage, interesting. It hadn't been too long since Ju targeted and successfully killed the Tsuchikage, and now he'd been ordered to take care of the Kazekaged. If that hadn't been his uncontested wellspring of luck, Ju didn't know what it could have been. Thereafter, Akira motioned towards the restrictions of the mission, namely ones he already familiarized himself with during his service with Tenryu. Poking at Akira yet again, he chuckled and grinned.

"Any questions? ahh crap, I asked it already, oh well."

The Mizukage had slammed a table into her other teammates stomach for being impatient. She was used to impatience. She was herself, most people she knew were, and Reiko would never hurt somebody on her own team if they had done nothing wrong. But this wasn't a fourteen year old genin, this was the Mizukage, a Jounin and a team leader. He didn't have time to waste on attitude, his squad was to get the mission done without failure. She would try her hardest to please him, but that would be a difficult task. Asking for the assassination of the Kazekage? Reiko had never killed anything except for a few wolves and the occasional spider or fly. Now he was asking-commanding- them to go on an s-ranked mission. The others? Sure, it might be easy for them. For all Reiko knew they could have gone on lots of S-ranked or even A-ranked missions before. They could of killed tens of hundreds of people well her murder count stood at none. Cut the crap. Pay attention and snap out of your little fantasy world, she told herself. The Mizukage asked for any questions. Of course, the loudmouth spoke up first. It wasn't even a question. All he said was he had already asked his question. Kirino, now standing, shook slightly in recoil as the Kage pounded on the ground, assaulting the armored man in the same movement. Well, it at least appeared that Akira was having some fun. With each bark his cheeks pulled further. Noting this, Kirino allowed her posture to slouch slightly with an exhale. It at least appeared he wasn't one for formalities, not that it made any difference to her.

Another shock came as Akira announced the team's goal. Kirino had always been a delegate, a traveler who's sole intent was to better relations between their village and others. This would be doing quite the opposite. Not since going on seven years had she done anything similar, and it wasn't something she was looking forward to, at that. Distaste for such actions aside, she was certainly capable. Taking people's hands certainly wasn't her bag, but the man with the armor looked bloodthirsty enough to handle that particular element of their task.

As Akira went on detailing the risks and what not, Kirino looked to the youngest of the four in the room. She looked like a kid fresh out of the academy, though having a slightly more experienced air about her. Regardless, her age, or more importantly her general lack of experience that worried Kirino, as well as her current demeanor. It was inconsistent, or simply said, quite childish. This sort of naivety was something Goto had seen a lot of, and very rarely was it ever a positive thing. With all of this weighing on her mind, she didn't even want to being thinking about what kind of trouble her other teammate could cause. All that would come up in time, though. There was nothing she could do about it for the time being but smile.

The answer to the question posed was more than obvious, but Kirino remained silent, assuring herself that the Kage would have much more fun answering it himself.

"Your mission begins the moment you hand your headband and all Kirigakure paraphernalia over to me," Akira replied dryly. Nodding over to the table directly on his left, he continued: "From the moment you step outside, you have one goal in mind -- bringing me that man, or woman's, hand." Akira didn't even know who the Kazekage was.

"Good luck."
