She was confident. Too confident.
Headed her way was a young academy student, one that, according to her superiors, was a bit of a troublemaker. She went over the paper she'd been given once more, reanalyzing every detail. It was a troubling case, but nothing that Kirino couldn't handle, or so she told herself. The privilege that was the trust that the higher ups placed in her to look after this boy filled her heart with all sorts of flutters. Did the Kage finally trust her to do something, did they finally realize her potential?!
She certainly hoped so. Being an "ambassador" wasn't all it was talked up to be. Of course, the reality of the situation was they were just too busy cleaning up after the war to get anyone useful to do such a job, and they couldn't allow any Genin to take on the task. The decision was a last resort if anything.
The teachers who had assigned her with a mission had also given her a time, and a place. It was a facility located on the actual academy grounds, used for group training. However, for the time being, the only person inside of the building was Kirino. It was fairly desolate, the only objects actually within the large warehouse like structure being very large sparring mats, mats on the walls (which were made of reinforced concrete), and two chairs, which Kirino had placed in the center of the building. She was sitting in one of them.
For this occasion, her attire consisted of nothing out of the ordinary for her. A white tank top, a thick black sports bra, and red athletic shorts, two white stripes running down both sides. A runner's attire, if anything. That is how she spent most of her days, going from country to country, so it had become something of a uniform for her. One leg rested on top of the other as she sat in the chair, leaning back on it slightly.
She watched the door, smiling to herself, waiting for it to open, for the boy to step through, ready as ever.
