Kirigakure, the hidden mist village, faithful to it's name, was surrounded in mist. The mist had been used as a way to protect the village gates and hide them away from intruders. Though, it was a relatively nice day out, a little on the chilly side, though. The chilly winds had swept across the village, though, for some, it could be taken as a refreshing breeze of air. A young male Yukina had sat on top of a house, looking out at the village from his height, the gentle breeze ruffling his scarf into the air, floating behind him. "I wonder what today'll bring me.." The Yukina said after taking a breath. He rose up to his feet, standing tall and firm, though, he was kind of on the short side of life, but, he wasn't going to let that stop him from being a proud and strong male.

Once he stood on his own two feet, he kicked up off of the rooftop, leaping onto a nearby rooftop, going from house to house as he came lower and lower toward the ground, until he had reached street level. The young Yukina then began walking toward the more populated area where other young shinobi like him were at, as he approached he, he couldn't help but notice the villagers. The villagers were a big part of the village, and a really important part, maybe even more so than the shinobi that inhabited the village. He wanted to do something that would help them pay off for their hardwork, but, the only thing he could think of was by making the village popular. He then continued advancing forward toward the crowd of young people.

"Ah..it's so chilly today. I kinda wished why I was born in this village."
Said by a young man walking through the Mist village in this day. Of course today isn't an unusual day that it was more cooler day than the typical since the land is surrounded by a large body of water, hence the land's name. Not to mention his particular choice of apparel is a little exposed to the chill being wearing such free flowing clothing. Since he's a free kid without a sensei as of yet, the young man decided to take this time to take the time to explore the land. With a slight wind, it gently moved his salmon pink colored hair. As the breeze blew past his hair, the temperature hit his pores of his skin like a cold dip in mostly cold water. How can ninja in this village keep warm in environments like these let along fight is beyond him. Nevertheless, thinking about it would make more of a hassle. The male at 6' 3" had his hands in his pockets of his ivory white cyan blend hakama as he continued to walk along. His weapons weren't on him as this wasn't a day to carry them.

As the boy walked, he saw another young man with a off hue of white, light silver looking hair on top of a building of many in the village. Something about him was different though, he looked like he wasn't effected by the chilly weather. As he saw the male stood up and jumped from the top of the building to the next. The male named Ketsui raises his left eyebrow and thought to himself for a minute.

"This will be fun." said the teen under his breath as he took a slight bend in his knees and jumped upward towards the second building as the kid did. To Ketsui, this is similar to tag to him and he likes a challenge to say the least. As Ketsui landed, he took his hands out his pockets and rubbed his hands together getting ready for the challenge. As the adolescent jumped from rooftop to rooftop, the male picked up a slight but significant boost of speed trying to one up the white haired kid. This will be his challenge.

[Xacarai]

Cold glaring eyes stared carelessly out into the abyss of wandering villagers, as they picked a part the intent of the rats which they scanned. Nothing more than human cattle, yet slightly less useful than an animal that could provide nourishment for yours. Instead these worthless beings were more like a disease…a bacterial disease that would one day consume Kirigakure no Sato of its ‘hardened’ shinobi and turn them all into day walking merchants with nothing else to do but pedal products and gawk at others to buy food. Pompous swine. But alas, it wasn’t his battle to figure out who should be sorted out luckily. The threat of a declining populace and a growing military is the thought that forever roamed the mind of the young man.

How narcissistic of him. However, his doubts were well placed, though his thought process not understood by many…yet then again there was no many. Just Xacarai sitting alone on a throne that would be carved from his own greatness this would fuel his arrogance only further. But it was his arrogance that kept him upon his deeply tanned toes. Prying himself from his minds eye, the Kiri-nin examined the street from a low lying building, the roof nearly buckling from his small weight, as it was obviously made from tin or something less.


Heaving a low sight, Xacarai placed his cold long tendrils upon his head, as he ruffled his hair a bit, his eyes catching a glimpse of another, then another. The first, a white-haired boy with a scarf on…and though he seemed rather young in body, his gentle rhythmic pouncing from building to building carried signs that the teal eyed fiend was likely nearer to his age than younger, hell, maybe even older. Brown hair and red eyes quickly began to follow suit for the one known as Yukina.

The glory would soon be dismissed though, as he lugged off into a crowd, which would eventually envelope himself in a veil of other young shinobi. Most of them weren’t different at all, just generic copies of each other who would die in the next world conflict (At least this is what Xacarai thought), while others like himself would pull the village out of something of a peril and destroy the invaders. No prisons, no mercy. Yet there was something about both Kiri-nin that he had seen bounding upon roofs that struck his interest.


Knee’s groaned as Xac stood to his feet and muttered to himself, ”Sometimes I wonder why I even waste my time…” Heaving a low sigh, the ninja took off like a raven into flight, his sanguine colored cloak flying upwards obscuring the lower half of the emblem emblazon upon the back of it. The Uchiha Fan, the symbol of prominence, of hope…of ignorance. It all came with the history and clan, and he wasn’t about to be the one to deny it.

Landing in the crowd of merchants he hastily began to push people out of the way, as he made his way to the grounds of shinobi. Jabbing his hands into his pockets, he avoided the shoulders of common folk, before shoving himself into the grounds of his haven. Finding Yuki through the crowd of people was simple…his hair gave it away. Strolling up to him casually, Xacarai didn’t hesitate as he removed his hand from his pocket and extending it, placing a fox-like grin on his face as he bellowed, ”Uchiha, Xacarai…and who might you be?”

The Yukina stepped through the crowd of shinobi, though, because of his height and appearance, people had thought he was some kind of young and inexperienced shinobi, perhaps. They bumped into him, or rather, he bumped into them, pushing them aside, making his presence known. The young shinobi of Kiri were very judgemental and mean to other, and particular tried to pick upon the weak, but, the Yukina showed that he was far apart from the weak, making his way through the crowd, and a rush, sort of. On his way to the group of young shinobi, though, he had felt the presence of another following him, due to his keen shinobi skills. He just wasn't able to deduce who the person was, because he didn't see him. The Yukina had made his way into the middle of the crowd of people, looking for someone who he would take particular interest in. Looking around, he had happened to catch the face of a young male, grinning at him with an untrustworthy smile.

As the young male had spoken to the Yukina, introducing himself, he couldn't help but see the open trail of people behind him. As if he pushed him aside or simply moved out of his way, as if he was a celebrity of some sort. "I'm Yukina Kagami.." The young Yukina had said firmly, and a bit creeped out. He was looking for someone interesting, but, it seems that someone interesting had found him. He had felt something from the aura of this guy, something cold, but, maybe it was just from the look in his eyes, though, he may just be looking down upon the Yukina for being short and young looking, he tried not to take offense to it, though. This person probably had taken particular interest into him, he wasn't one for thinking too deeply about things, rather just finding out why he was sought out. "So, you're a shinobi like the rest of them? What brings you here today, if you don't mind me asking?" His first question had a deeper meaning than what most people would take it for. The Yukina didn't know how good his people skills were, so, he thought he would be trying them out today.

He thought to himself, "this will be a very intriguing day.." And, shortly after, the other one who had pursued the Yukina originally would arrive to the scene. The Yukina's eyes, were warm, unlike the other man's, and he adverted his eyes to the direction that he felt the first pursuer presence coming from.

While he was running, the male felt significantly warmer in this weather. He saw the young one jump off the a rooftop and stop to walked into the streets to the village. There he made an observation about him, he was very short. Perhaps he was vertically challenged in life? Ketsui thought to himself as Ketsui stopped from the third rooftop trying to 'tag' the other youth. He would be quitter and jump off the rooftop, what a bore. This lost his zeal for the challenge he put himself into. This was one of the pink haired teen's many quirks and one of the most ridiculous. As he stopped from his rooftop escapades, he heard many voices from the villagers, shinobi and not as they were going through their daily routine of life. This made Ketsui glad that he chosen the path of the shinobi -- for their random unpredictability in life. Among the people, a particular unique dressed individual walked among the crowd. His facial expressed looked disgusted as well as his mannerism and body language.


As the white haired boy landed, the former individual made a gesture of taking his hand from his pocket and pointed to the chibi sized shinobi with a twisted version of a smile. Ketsui looked down with yet another breeze swept past the street moving his hair and cooling the male's heightened temperature he worked up from running, though it wasn't a very long one. Ketsui placed his hands back in his pockets as the male with the twisted smile spoke.

"Uchiha, Xacarai…and who might you be?"
Ketsui felt like the person was off his rocker from the jump. He stood there from the rooftop to one be observant and two, to calm his heart-rate. He didn't want to fight today at all and he really didn't want to break up one if such an altercation were to go down. As the male now addressed as Xacarai spoke to the white hair boy, Ketsui tilted his head to the right as he waited for the chibi shinobi to respond and how..

The male replied by addressing his name as Yukina Kagami and retorted to Xacarai another question. Ketsui took this time to bend his knees again and jump forward off the rooftop to the street so many feet from the ground. Sure height in jumping and landing is an issue to a regular and non-shinobi, but for people like him, he was privileged by not having such concern as shinobi as agile and acrobatic. However, in his case Ketsui is a bit of uncoordinated. As he was about to land with his left leg forward, his footing was off and with the mist being visible gaseous water, it gave the ground more sheen and slickness. This made Ketsui fall forward on his face.

"Ow..damnit, that hurt.." as the male placed his arms in front of him to push himself off the ground and on his knees. He placed his left leg forward as he began to stand himself upright. His face however wasn't as gracious. The fall gave Ketsui a scape over his right eyebrow. This was a REALLY good way to start off an introduction. Bad enough that he was spying on them but to fall on his face on top of that, Ketsui had to feel embarrassed.

[Xacarai]

Watching patiently as the gears in the mind of the shorter male rotated rather quickly, attempting to make out the scene that was being flourished in his teal eyes. For a moment it seemed as if the Uchiha would go ignored, something which made his eyebrows furrow in near disgust. But soon they would return back to their normal arch, as Kagami decided to address his presence with actual words instead of a confused yet intrigued look. In all honesty, only few seconds had gone by, but like all of those before him who fancied themselves as Kings in Training, Xacarai felt he needed to be acknowledged immediately.

A pompous ignorance which was always present in the depths of the young man. Placing his hand back into his pocket, the teen looked down upon his fellow Kiri comrade as he read into his next question. A light smirk flashed upon the face of the arrogant, as he continued to stare aimlessly at the Yukina. He had chosen to ask a very intriguing question…or at least the proper person to ask it. It was Xac’s theory that he was better than most everyone, and now he would get a chance to vocalize it.


Sliding his right foot backwards, he played in the lining of his cloak as he thought of the proper retort. In a mellow voice he said, ”’Like the rest of them’? Hardly. In this world there are only two type of people, those who will live and those who will die. The reasoning for this has very little to do with politics or the social stature of another. Instead, it is purely fate…and there is nothing anyone can do to change it…” He almost wanted to pace about, but he managed to stay standing in one spot as he gave his speech as he extended his arms from his pockets. Helicopter’ing his index finger he continued.

”Look upon all these shinobi…how many of them will be recognized…noted other than by a marker in the cemetery? Very few. But I will extend to be something told to others grandchildren…whether as a scary tale or a fairy tale…that is another issue, but I will be different.” With his long winded answer finally coming to its completion, the same torturous smile met his face once more, but his eyes were no longer upon Kagami, instead on a falling person whose hair reminded him of a sakura flower.


Stepping sideways as to avoid the boy from plowing into his legs, Xacarai’s face melted into one of eerie disgust, as the being ate the foundation of Kirigakure with his face. Nearly wincing, the pink-haired pursuer regained his composure as he stood to his feet. The Uchiha wouldn’t dare lend a hand to help a clutz clamber to his feet, yet still, he wasn’t above politeness, even though he knew his nearly obsidian eyes would betray him. Patting Ketsui on the shoulder faintly, the young man said, ”Well, it would appear we’ve been blessed with the uncoordinated presence of another. Welllllll now, who might you be?”

It could be heard by the tone of the voice that he was only minutely interested in what the bubblegum haired teen would say. Nonetheless, his hulking frame was rather impressive…a lesser person would be intimidated, but he wasn’t a normal person. Looking back and forth at the pair, Xacarai compared their stature as he said in a joking voice, ”I guess it has now become a battle of vertical competence.”

The gentle, cool breezes from the surrounding bodies of water continued to sweep the lands, though, it was like the young Yukina didn't even feel it or notice it. It simply just ruffled his teal scarf into the air, and his black kimono's clothing. He listened to the Uchiha talk - long windily at that. He had seen through the question that the Yukina had asked him, responding to help completely. And, in his response, he had given wind of some of his ideals and how he viewed the world. The Yukina would simply take note of this, being able to slightly deduce what kind of character that the Uchiha might truly be. Nonetheless, he was interesting in what the Uchiha was saying to him, almost to the point of asking him why he felt that way or seen life the way that he did. The Yukina had felt that this wouldn't be the last time he would see this Uchiha' though. So, he would save that question for another time, he was truly interesting.

"That's certainly an inter---" The young male was cut off by the sudden idiocy of young man who came falling face first into the ground, interrupting his conversation. It was quite rude, but, this man had to obviously be an idiot, since he fell face first. Only someone like a child would embarrass themselves like that. The Yukina couldn't tell if he was truly an idiot, this was the first time he had ever seen one up close, he thought maybe that he would act like some kind of wild animal - that's what idiots are. The Uchiha had bashed the male's gracefulness, sort of. Though, the Yukina could only watch in horror as the male had rose to his feet, towering over the Yukina like some giant, idiot monster. He had felt really short, compared to the very tall man, the Yukina could probably guess what height he was and be pretty accurate. The Uchiha then stated the obvious, in a joking manner, but, it had felt like an insult to him. "What?" A question the Yukina had directed at the Uchiha, his tone becoming serious now.

Though, he quickly discarded his tone, and collected himself pretty quickly, and got over his insecurities due to the other male's height. He was able to rebound quickly for a short guy. "Who might you be, indeed? I felt you following me earlier, what is your purpose?" The Yukina adverted his attention completely to the tall man, though, he thought that maybe he wouldn't understand him, his pink hair showed him how smart he was to the Yukina - about as smart as a flamingo, which means his intelligence might be lacking, unless he could prove otherwise. As for how he felt about the Uchiha - he was a meanie.

As the teenager regained his composure, he got looks from both the males. He used his right hand to wipe above his eyebrow where his newly formed scar was and smiled.What was he supposed to do at that moment. As he opened his eyes, he got a glance from both of them, then his demeanor changed. Judging from Kagami's face, he gave Ketsui the dumb blonde stare as if he was an idiot. He wasn't an idiot, just clumsy as hell. He turned his head to face Xacarai and inhaled deeply and exhaled calmly as he was about to give his response.

"My name is Izakagito Ketsui. No more no less."
The teen said to the Uchiha he glanced at an angle to the more shorter male and answered his question.
"My reason was..I was bored and I like a challenge. Since I am going to be a swordsman is high caliber, I need to take any challenge on. Even if the challenge is in the form of a white haired chibi-kun." he answered to the boy.

[Xacarai]

A light sneer echoed from the thin lips of the Uchiha, as he turned back to Ketsui, still absorbing his height and girth. The crow colored eyes pried into his being, attempting to measure his vessel, ironically the same thing the Yukina clansmen had to been doing to him only moments earlier. As he stared off, a defiant tone erupted from within the white-haired Genin, as he obviously didn’t like the thought of his height becoming the topic of the subject…and at that height, Xac could understand why. Yet simple deduction would go to show that just from the guys social etiquette that he was of the same maturation as the Uchiha…the jury was still out on the male with the woman hair.

Stern, rash, and to the point…the cursed shinobi liked these things from Kagami. There was no time for lagging, for beating around the bush, or lollygagging. Everything in the universe moved on beat, and this short guy was no one to interrupt the flow. He would have bothered to say that it reminded him of himself…if he were a lesser person. But he couldn’t put anyone in the same bracket as himself…he was unique, and there would never be anyone in history that would compare to his vessel.


Finally over his ego trip, Xacarai snatched himself back to reality, as he watched the hulking being wipe his brow where a new bruise was forming in its wake. A tentative eyebrow rose as the Uchiha watched the boy speak. His words…though sincere, lacked actual common sense…well at least to him. How could one possibly test their own capacity against someone who doesn’t even know there is a competition? Was this just some cheap rouse from Ketsui to verify his own status and existence by any means necessary?

Such a thought ran through the mind of the Kiri-nin, as he continued to listen to the guy. The bubblegum-nin capped off his speech by insulting the stature of Kagami once more, a light chuckle almost growling in the pits of Xacarai’s stomach, though he silenced it just as quickly as it had been imagined. Rubbing his hand through his hair, the Uchiha turned to look at the Yukina…almost thinking that his face would be the color of a rose or flush…one or the other. Whipping his head to look back at Ketsui once more he mused, ”Uchiha, Xacarai…of course you already know that sense you were spying…”


The last word came out with slight disgust but the resolve of the Uchiha would not let him be sucked into a state of dislike for the guy…he was just simple, that’s all. Bellowing out once more he said, ”What I don’t understand is how you could possibly be testing your capability against someone who isn’t aware of the challenge. You will be a swordsmen hm? Well it appears that you’re cheating your own value…but if you take challenges, then feel free to issue me a challenge while I’m here and can moderately accept it then crush you at it. As for Kagami…I cannot speak for him, but I’m sure he’s thinking more or less the same since you have already shown your small vessel by your rather…gloomy landing.”

Not a trace of anger or agitation could be found in the voice of Xacarai…only arrogance. It was his way…he didn’t only think his vessel was bigger than Ketsui’s, he knew it. But nonetheless, he would try and help his comrade increase his vessel, and since challenges is what the guy responded to, he didn’t expect him to turn it down...his pride wouldn’t allow it, the Uchiha could read him like an open library book.

The young Yukina had stayed silent as he continued to watch the idiot begin to spit out his silly and childish excuse. Really, the Yukina had hated immaturity, and to think that someone of his height, so big like an adult, would act like a kid. How could he indeed challenge him without him knowing? What would he had thought if the Yukina had seen the idiot flamingo pass him up, would he think that he would have chased after him? Simply childish. As Ketsui spoke, the Yukina simply closed his eyes and shook his head, not saying a word. Ashamed that this fellow was a Kiri-nin. Shortly after he finished speaking, he stopped shaking his head and opened his eyes, as if he was waiting for the Uchiha to say something, because, he knew he would. And, it will be something long and drawn out, at that.

As the Uchiha spoke, instantly, the Yukina had agreed with what he was saying about the challenge, and how Ketsui would have just been cheating himself. And, what he was doing really wasn't honorable at all. As the Uchiha had continued to speak, he could only hear arrogance spewing from his mouth. The Uchiha would have to get knocked down a few pegs one day, or maybe even sooner, perhaps. With the information he had just collected, he was able to change his mind a bit, slightly, though, after giving it some more thought. Maybe Ketsui wasn't an idiot or something. He would have to give him a chance to prove himself and his worth, and, the Uchiha talked about Ketsui challenging him. But, it would be boring if it was just the two of them, the Yukina wanted to have some fun, too. If he were to take part in the challenge, he would get three things out of it; end his boredom, prove Ketsui's worth, and knock the Uchiha down a few pegs. It played out nicely in his head.

"Xacarai. Ketsui. How about we really do have a challenge? It'll be fun, trust me." The Yukina said confidently, with his eyes close, and right index finger up, and a smirk on his face. He had then went on to explain what the very challenge would be. "Ok. So, basically, it'll be a race from here to the front gates of Kirigakure, it's about 500 meters from where we are right now. But, there is a catch to it - you have to reach the gate with three headbands, which two consist of your opponent, and of course, your own. It'd be putting your ninja skills to the test. And, finally, obviously, you can't use any jutsu or weapons on each other, only hand to hand skills to get each others hand bands. Are you guys up for it?" The Yukina didn't really care about winning, but, he felt like it was his job to test the both of them, since they both looked like unique shinobi to him, and not like all of the other generic looking one's. He had wandered if they would accept his challenge or not.
