Hyoka watched in excitement as both of the two bathed in flames, his burning flesh outstretching in the form of help towards Anemone as they both sunk into the lava pit helpless as to what to do next. His sky water hues fell upon the raven haired beauty as she drifted to her death as well. The beast had yearned for her beauty yet saw it as unreachable in this realm of unknown. (‘can’t be.. the end..’) Natsufubuki repeated to himself as he closed his eyes, whatever was left of them. The blackened scab, aftermath of the lava’s coat, would begin to form over their melted bodies as their souls escaped from the genjutsu they had both been trapped in apparently. Waking up to the sight of the elderly man and the elder phoenix Hyoka would begin to blink in confusion as he loosened his muscles from the ending of this excruciating illusion.

Sweat dripped down his face onto the ground as he placed his hands upon his knees, bending over, in order to capture his breathe. The sky haired boy would bite the inside of his lips, feeling the blood ooze out of each pocket with ease. After capturing enough blood in his mouth he spit it onto the contract paper. . signing his name thereafter. This was not the end, though, for Hyoka knew that his journey was only just beginning. Looking onto Anemone he would smile with a bloody lip, coughing up a few pints of it and spitting it out before retorting a response. ”My next destination is iwagakure, anemone-chan. The start of the war erupted from bakudon gai and I must investigate the ruins in search for more answers. Will you help me. . ?” he would say to her unknowing of her origin or where she was from. As he spoke he looked into the distance past the barren wasteland of golden dust. .

” SO ... WHADDYA SAY?”

He would say turning back to her figure with a devilish grin, exiting into the ways of the wind in search for the country of earth. . with or without her.

I truly thought we would die that day. The pain that came with feeling your own flesh melt away to nothing was agonizing. And as the supreme heat washed over both of our bodies I could only look upon Hyoka-kun with eyes of both sadness and delight for spending my last fleeting moments with him. We had each aspired to achieve such great things, yet perished prematurely to be forgotten in the pages of history. I started settling myself to leave this world ~ then my cherry orbs snapped open, cynical of the wide, underground room. My skin was moist with sweat, and my hands fluctuating. I was elated to see that the phoenix was still among us, as was the elder. But most importantly sky hair was right at my side.

My breathing returned to a state of normality; brain out of the blue realizing that I had been under the conditions of a potent Genjutsu. But it had all passed, and a now bloody lipped companion signed the contract with his own life's essence. Then he turned to me, showing off his brilliant sanguine smile.

”My next destination is iwagakure, anemone-chan."

I was happy to hear that he would stay with me for a little longer, even if I kept that energy inwardly hidden. "Of course. You've won me over, ocean eyes." I'd allow for a minuscule smirk, confident that I saw an electric future reflected in his spectacles. Next he'd be gone, left to face the twisting of the desert with a cursed grin. I'd follow the same path soon, heart set on Iwagakure.
