He rose to his feet, locks spilling across his vision. Today he felt odd, not in a bad way. Quite on the contrary he felt today like… like he had more resolve, more energy, his very will seemed stronger. Perhaps he had eaten well last night, or perhaps today was the day he would finally have his name shouted across the five great nations as a hero, as a champion, as the sum of all men. Or perhaps the much more likely not, as he had done naught but catch a criminal or two.

He had taken a break in a very odd area, it was a sparsely littered with trees area. It seemed a dead oasis, there was sand in the distance but no, not here. It was as if life was struggling to be born here but the oppressive sun strangled and squashed it leaving only dry and dead foliage behind. Yet it was on a earthy foundation, perhaps it was an island or something. He didn’t know and he was a bit parched, rain that did fall in this area was immediately soaked into the ground evaporating with the heat of the sand.

Like always he had brought all of his equipment with him, whenever he left the safety of his village he did so with in mind that he was likely to get attacked even if it wasn’t a ninja, there were other things in the desert to fear besides ninja such as scorpions that one could not see on first glance, and on occasion even certain species of snakes who could withstand the heat of the desert while searching endlessly for food without success in site. He shouldn’t linger too long in one spot lest he get dizzy from the heat and lose his path, yet it seemed unlikely he was around heat so often he would seem the least likely person to have heatstroke.

He dusted off his hindquarters and straightened his cloak, tightened his coif. It was the only way to travel in the desert where a stray gust of wind might bring a nasty stale cloud of heat your way. It would take him a while to escape from this deadened section of the desert but not too long he hoped, a real hero had important things to do besides wandering in the desert aimlessly.

A conflagration of rustic red and oranges blossomed over the expansive desert and everything within it. The heat asininely bestowed its influence upon all with its unending ambit, yet the harmless passing of high wind seemed relentless in its wake this day. Odd. Corpuscles of sand was carried by the stormy winds, creating a winter of the sorts.

Indeed the oasis you'd come to was thrumming with little life if any at all, but even still, trees, plants, and grass alike still thrived with the desire to grown with what little water they received. Roughly 5 meters from your frontal view laid a bed of flowers from roses, to dark pink begonia, and small white, black thorn flowers. These flowers were a rare sight indeed, hardly seen in Kaze no kuni if at all. A quick passing wind caused one of the flowers to falter, uprooting it from the ground as it began to float, gravitating towards you. Incomprehensible whispers seemingly emanated from the flower as it drew closer to you, orbiting around your body like planets would the sun.

His eyes were inquisitive and skeptical, a violet stare passed over the animate flora as he reached for a kunai in his satchel. He had heard of plants that were alive in the desert aside of cactai. Those plants that were so hardy, so durable that they could survive with less water than most things on earth and still hold to them such an entrapping beauty. He found it odd however that he would be in such a spot of death and decay and still find these plants, these flowers blooming so brightly.

His grip tightened on the kunai, the flower drew closer. He was thinking rapidly, what if this flower had thorns of some sort? Thorns that were laced with a toxin that would render him paralyzed, it didn’t make all that sense, but what if this flower was some offshoot of a venus fly trap. Where the plant was carnivorous… it seemed a stupid notion to think but then again there was a flower floating towards him and curling around him. On closer inspection he could see thorns on it… this wasn’t good and no amount of horticultural experience would be needed to tell him that this was dangerous. He put his off hand in his satchel and grabbed a new kunai, he then flourished the one he was holding in the way of the flower. His offhand poised in a way to prepare an interception should the flower coil on him from the other side.

The flowers incomprehensible whispers seem to become more tempestuous and loud more you allowed it to fully orbit. Yet sadly enough its life was ended by a swift swipe from your kunai, plundering what life essence seemed to dwell within it. The whispers came to a complete halt as it fell listlessly to the ground. The bed of flowers seemed to hostilely respond as they watched one of their own get cut down in cold blood. The high rising winds came to a settling calm, yet, the flowers themselves swayed back and forth as the whispers grew louder and more comprehensible.

"wwwhhhy are you hhhhereee..."

They spoke with low, rasp voices, drilling themselves into your ears as it sounded like a plethora of voices as if each flower held its own. There could have been at least hundreds of theses flowers and several hundred all uprooted themselves from the ground, converging upon one another into a cloud of flowers and fallen pedals. Slowly it hovered towards you, repeating their words over and over, and suddenly a silver blurred shuriken sprung forth from the cloud of flowers, aimed towards your left eye, ready to draw blood if you failed remove yourself from danger.

Nothign as it seemed seemed right, he had cut down the flower yet at the same time it only led to more flowers coming towards him and they spoke... if he didn't know any better well perhaps he should have. The key indicator nwo clearly being that their were voices in his head, that seemed to be emenating not just from the flowers but every in ever louder whispers. It gave him a headache and he wanted nothing more to thatn just put his arms to his ears and hug them closed making the sounds go away, but as a blurry silver shuriken came towards him he knew that it had to be.. genjutsu

There was no enemy when he got there and it was certainly true that flowers didn't throw shuriken. He closed his eyes and opened them again, crimson red with a rolling single tomoe speeding round and round across his eyes. he attempted to pierce through whatever genjutsu was he but just in case he leaned back as the shuriken came close, the distance between him and the shuriken closer as he took the time to blink. He leaned further back letting the shuriken pass over him as he executed a back hand spring.

The sanguine eyes of the Uchiha clan burst to life as it pierced the genjutsu that had been inflicted unknowingly upon you. It was a lowly C ranked genjutsu technique, one that could easily be pierced even by the premature stages of the sharingan, the power of the uchiha's eyes really seemed limitless at times. The flowers simply faded away to the commanding winds as a shimmering gold dust, creating with nothing more than mere pockets of sand.

Even though the you managed to dodge the speeding shuriken, the influence of danger had not yet been clear, not as long as he continued to draw breath. The boy performed a back hand spring, a very energetic way to dodge a simple shuriken, but one that contained wasteful movements. Preceding your landing an aged man emerged swiftly from what water managed to exist within the oasis. His shaved head radiated with the suns reflective rays as they ran mindlessly across it. A long 2 meter goatee whipped back and forth without direction, as the old geezer came to a staggering stand with a blue sheen of intangible energies beneath his feet above the waters.

With red cheeks, low eyes, and a sake bottle in hand, a loud hiccup tore into the air. His eyes peered at the bottle, soon realizing its emptiness due to lack of liquid weight. He shook the bottle up and down before finally tossing it away, his eyes drew themselves upward mid-way, meeting gaze your crimson eyes.

"What are you doing here in my oasis young lad. Go back now or suffer the price! You youngsters aren't welcomed here, especially you uchiha fools!"

His tone was gruff and even more rasped than it was just moments ago. His tone spiked with animosity as he spoke of the uchiha bloodline. This man had a past with the Uchiha clan....but what kind exactly?!

After safely dodging the shuriken he landed a few feet back, now putting distance between him and the flower bed. Yet it was for no avail as the flowers had turned to sand, as if the sun had sapped from them the last drops of water that were affording them life. Blowing away in wind they soon vanished from his thoughts, confirming that they were indeed genjutsu yet of a safe enough nature that he could pierce through them with his eyes.

A man soon replaced the bed of flowers and he seemed, well he seemd sagelike if he had to pick a word. Grumpy and crotchedy he immediately was hostile towards him, no doubt he was the source of the shuriken and the genjutsu unless both were one in the same then he was just the genjutsu. He seemed however like a drunkard with a rosy hue in his cheeks, he expected at any second to see a barrel of saki just drop out of his shirt. He piped up at him and exclaimed angrily that he wasn’t allowed their, that especially his lineage, the lineage of the copy wheel eye wasn’t allowed there. He couldn’t fathom this and piped up I don’t know what happened to you with any of those who share genes with me but, you shouldn’t simply assault me for how I look, I would have figured someone your age had wisdom or something. He clicked a kunai to his head band which protected his neck. This thing here means I was born and raised here, I shed blood to train to protect this place. Why are you so bull headed as to hurt someone who protects the place where you reside?

Trickles of spring water dripped aimlessly down the old mans clothing and his goatee, soaking it to the point where it seemed like it was a wet mass of cotton. His cherry cheeks flared, giving hint that he was suffering from the primordial stages of inebriation, even so he still retained enough mental capacity to remain aware of his surroundings.

" I don’t know what happened to you with any of those who share genes with me but, you shouldn’t simply assault me for how I look, I would have figured someone your age had wisdom or something."

His half closed eyes removed themselves from your own, taking refuge behind closed lids as he heavily sipped from his fountain of sake after every few words you mouthed. His cheeks radiated with a blood red, become brighter and brighter with each swallow. Old man sure knew how to enjoy his beverages, a drunk some would say, but you'd be a fool to believe that he was just some ordinary drunkard with mediocre genjutsu.

"This thing here means I was born and raised here, I shed blood to train to protect this place. Why are you so bull headed as to hurt someone who protects the place where you reside?"

"*Gulp* AAHHHHH..."

He stepped little more than a foot forward, and even with such a small motion his balance faltered, or so it seemed. His eyes opened half-way once more as you presented your hitai-ate, a badge of loyalty to a shinobi's village.

"Young lad..you know very little about what i've dealt with."

With a single hand he uplifted his shirt, revealing a large scar upon his torso to you.

"Your kin, the Uchiha did this to me when they cast me into exile"

And in an instant his eyes flickered with power, radiating with sanguine hues and two dots in each. He threw away his sake bottle as his hands converged, forming a ritual of power at a near incomprehensible speed.

"The air seems thick doesn't it?"

Within seconds your breath would seemed like a significant amount of oxygen was cut off but it was nothing lethal...yet.

"Your insolence will cost you greatly"

Description: A simple yet affective Genjutsu used mainly as a distraction and to cause panic in the victim. After forming the needed seals, the user designates a target and the technique will start to take effect. The target of the technique will begin to feel as though they’re not taking in enough oxygen at first, with shallow and quick breaths. The next turn the target feels as though they’re taking in no oxygen at all, which is followed by the feeling of drowning. The victim's body believes it is literally taking no oxygen, and so the body doesn't search for it but instead wastes more energy trying to obtain more. This results in the target falling unconscious if the illusion goes unchecked.

He felt sick, sick like there was something wrong with him in a serious fashion. His next breath was shallow, shallow and and… he couldn’t dot the wrong part of it but he felt as if his lungs weren’t working right. Like he didn’t take in any air perhaps at all? These were just his first thoughts as to what the genjutsu that that man had used on him, it wasn’t hard and in fact it was blatantly obvious that he had used a genjutsu on him. He had formed seals and suggested that the air had been thick. The only other explanation would have been that he had used a foreign perhaps fuuton or air borne suiton jutsu to affect him, but he doubted it would be invisible and so quick to act. His eyes strained, their circles spinning as he tried to pierce through. They itched and burned slightly, making him blink in the milliseconds that he tried to break it, obviously finding nothing short of failure. It was beyond his level… he would have to… to try alternative methods if he wanted to get out of this alive, but he had to push this assailant back.

Almost immediately after his opponent finished his seals, he was in the process of making his own. He would punish this man severely, he would brand him with heat enough to add another scar. He wondered if this is why he was banned from the clan, for attacking strangers and kinsmen at that. He stared forward, prepared to dodge any projectile as his seals finished. He leaned back, and opened his mouth and from his gullet spewed hellfire, which could tear through metal like paper and render all creations into a fine ashe. As they hovered above the ground all water seemed to evaporate and furthermore even the ground cracked with parchment.

Description: Basic yet very effective within the Katon arsenal of jutsu, this technique allows the ninja to emit a series of small fire balls after a simple set of handseals are made. The ninja can also hurl a projectile which is covered in these same flames. To the opponent the attack appears to be only the balls of flame, because they do not see the hidden threat within the flames. The flames can be used to cover different projectiles like shuriken or kunai, and only select doujutsu and bloodline abilities allow the user to see through the deception.
