He had become or considered himself quite savvy, adept, profoundly proficient at completing missions. Though he had his share of trouble he could actually feel with every fist flying, every sweat broken, and every drop of blood shed, that he was getting stronger and becoming a more adept ninja, able to become closer to the top, where he ideally wanted to see himself. He curled and uncurled his fists, bunching white then flooding with blood as he again stepped off a ferry, which at the time seemed to be a most unreasonable mode of transportation, kaze no kuni being a parched land one would think that their would be a lack of need for a boat, but their had to be of course water somewhere, or life itself would be in a harsh and a scarce state. Nonetheless the temperature was hot, fervid, dry, it sapped moisture from his throat till his innards were rendered to a texture akin to sawdust. At his side, his hands immediately and with great pleasure to do so retrieved a steel flask, one that he with well provided thought had refused to drink until he really needed to, if he was on a chase through barren sand he would most likely value the presence of water throughout the trek.
The ferry departed as he was left in a remote location, a last sited notice on his flier was what set him off to this location, it appeared that a sensor had actually been here not too long ago and had communicated through a summoned familiar with no doubt the gift of speed to bring a immediate message of alert that the criminal was not far, but he could go no longer. Higan had no doubt in his mind that the cause of the cease of pursuit had to do with a sudden expiration or full consumption of supplies, as most sunagakure ninja were used to the harsh tempest, the frigid cold of the night and the oppressive heat of the sun which were constant as the sky. The sensor had explicitly said that the man had not traveled to any of the southern towns and that east and west led only to desert valleys which could harbor no benefit to humans, so the only path that existed was north, to the border where the ground began to become firmer and more plant friendly. He began a mild pace forward, with the assumption that the opponent was being gingerly with how much strength he spent as he still had a ways to go and assumed also, and foolishly he might add that he had fooled the entire country and nobody was going to chase after him. The towns behind him faded, but were not beyond sight and certainly would be brought to clarity once he delved into the world of monochrome when he activated his byakugan, which would be a most useful tool to both search for the criminal and return to his point of origin all without getting lost in the odyssey that laid before him.
