THE KAZEKAGE ADMINISTRATION !

The original homestead of the Sand Village founders, the previous Kazekage Administration was relocated to a more-suitable abode for the current leader at the time, molded into a skyscraper that gazed over the village with a resounding authority. However, loathing the sudden disappearance of the soon-to-be Seated Kage, the first demand that the chosen, next leader wished to be made was nothing less than returning the elementary administration to impeccable glory. The archetypal building is located in the epicenter of the circular village, the spherical building's foundation suspended dozens of metres in the air upon a thick, durable earth-pillar, only the most destructive forces being capable of breaking the structure. Despite the heightened location of the building, entering the territory is not difficult, multiple guiding paths and tunnels leading directly to the building's entrance. The rounded-shape of the administration is deep-rooted with extremely-resistant minerals, with the face of the gateway being guarded by a set of respected Chūnin. The building is surprisingly littered with several window openings, the most prominent being the one located in the Kazekage's Office, gargantuan and exposed to the point where those within have a beautiful view of the village. The Kazekage Administration is the most important building in the village, and is protected with constant security and the fiercest opponents for those who dare to challenge it.

F1: The first floor of the administration building, known formally as the misson compound. Located within this level, there is constant movement from both clients and Sunagakure shinobi alike. This is also the location of the Kazekage's receptionist, Naomi. The refined woman is the leader of this circus act, and handles the majority of the business that enters and leaves the building, whether it be accepting an objective from a client, dishing out missions and payment to shinobi, relaying a message to the Kazekage, or even requesting a private audience with the Sunagakure Council and Kazekage themselves.

F2: The second floor of the administration building, known formally as Sunagakure's vaults. Due to the secret, important information and objects located on this floor, it is possibly the most heavily guarded place in all of Sunagakure. Within steel-plated vaults, guarded by groups of ANBU shinobi, each vault houses the village treasury, exclusive and forbidden techniques, and even powerful weaponry and items that are too dangerous for the public. F3: The last and final floor of the administration building, known formally as the Kazekage headquarters. Located upon the very top floor of the building, this floor can easily be described as the Wind Shadow's workplace and own home, which could be regarded as the second most heavily guarded place within the building. Several ANBU and Jounin roam the halls surveying potential threats, while the Kazekage himself can most likely be approached in his office. Important, personal meetings regarding the village are normally held on this floor, and the story cannot be accessed directly without confronting ANBU shinobi or being personally escorted. In order to enter this habitat without being instantly apprehended, one must be invited by the Kazekage or Sunagakure Council themselves, otherwise this is a restricted floor.[/blockquote]

MISSION INFORMATION

Located on the first floor of the Kazekage Administration is the Sunagakure no Sato mission compound. Constantly overflowing with business, a simple collection of papers posted on the wall of the spherical building hosts the several mission details for Sunagakure shinobi, not far from the secretary who approves and denies them. To the naked eye, they may seem scattered, but these papers are actually sorted based on a few different criteria. They progress steadily in rank; that is to say, starting on the far left are the missions marked as 'D' Rank and ending at the far right are those marked 'S' Rank. Profession-based missions and special, village-interactive are restricted and must be personally requested from the receptionist herself.

To take a mission, simply copy the necessary information and make a post in this same thread, asking the secretary if you may take said mission via roleplay. Remember, however: any mission with a strike through its name has already been completed, and for one reason or another, is not repeatable. 'D' and 'C' Ranked missions can be taken by Genin and above; 'B' Ranked missions can be taken by Chuunin and above; and lastly, 'A' and 'S' Ranked missions can be taken by Jounin and above. To go on a mission above your level, simply team up with a shinobi who is eligible. The mission system for Sunagakure no Sato is based on quality and quantity; and as such, an increase in mission rank means an increase in required posts. 'D' Ranked missions require 3 posts; 'C' Ranked missions require 6 posts; 'B' Ranked missions require 9 posts; 'A; Ranked missions require 12 posts; and finally, 'S' Ranked missions require 15 posts. Keep in mind that a mission thread is considered a roleplay thread. This means it counts toward an account's thread limit, which is currently three.

The Kazekage is responsible for creating missions. However, village members may create their own missions for whatever reason. Simply copy the template below and PM it to the current Kazekage.

Mission Information: Akemi Kato is an elderly member of the village who is no longer able to traverse through the strong winds to fetch her water rations. She lives alone in a house near the village gates. Because of this, she has put in a request with the Kazekage that a few kind shinobi bring her enough water to last her for a few days. She expects to be treated with respect; so long as this requirement is fulfilled, she will continue to pay for delivery services.

Clean-up Time!

Mission Information: The Shinobi World War was devastating, not just for the population but for the hidden villages as well. Some volunteers are required to pick up debris—such as broken glass, rock, and more—around Sunagakure no Sato. If there is time, some might consider replacing any windows that were shattered in the conflict.

Mail Courier

Mission Information: The Great War has taken its toll on Sunagakure. Very few mailing houses remain, leaving the postal service lacking. They are requesting a few unoccupied shinobi come down to help them catch up with mail delivery. The shinobi would be required to travel Sunagakure carrying a mail satchel (must be returned) and a courier arm band (also must be returned) and deliver mail to specified citizens.

Vendor Dispute

Mission Information: A dispute between vendors has broken out in the market, and a shinobi is requested to solve the issue. No information is presented on the dispute itself. Proceed with caution and act as a mediator.

Fishing Disruption

Mission Information: A collection of fisherman on the coastal western edge of Kaze no Kuni has been struck with a flu epidemic. They cannot figure out what has caused it, but are now dangerously short on workers that they need the job. If they can’t get enough fish soon most will starve and those that won’t will lose everything, however small, they own due to the poor numbers.
Special Information: Repeatable. As always when travelling outside the safety of the village, be on your guard.

Catch Me a Pet!

Mission Information: Oniyuri-san lives alone now that she has come of age, and has decided that it’s a lonely life. She has asked for a capable group of shinobi to go out into the desert and catch her a cute animal that she can keep as a pet.

Mission Information: Sunagakure no Sato is dangerously low on ANBU because of the war. Eligible Genin may gain some good experience by standing guard at the village gates for a shift, giving the ANBU time to rest and recuperate. If any nuke-nin appear or a threat is detected, Genin are to return immediately to the village to report the incident. Chuunin and above may remain and protect Sunagakure as necessary.
Special Information: Repeatable. Any difficulty setting may partake, but keep in mind that if the village is attacked during your stay you may be in danger.

A Time to Spar
Rank: C.
Shinobi Required: 2-4.
Mission Information: Fighting is a natural part of the shinobi world, but sometimes there is a lull in battle; a mission might be taken here, a small threat averted there, but otherwise all is peaceful. That is why the Jounin of Sunagakure have come together to suggest a mission: those who wish to gain more experience in combat against another shinobi should come together and spar. Death is not permitted, and will be a punishable offense, but otherwise, go crazy!
Special Information: Repeatable. Requires at least two ninja, but a fight between more than two is also encouraged, as such situations can occur during war.
Reward: 50 EXP & 1,000 Ryo.

Catch the Criminal
Rank: C.
Shinobi Required: 1-4.
Mission Information: Fujioka, Kiyoshi. This is the name of a rogue Sunagakure no Sato genin who was caught trying to sneak into the Kazekage’s vault. No doubt he had plans to steal ryo or village secrets for malicious intent. It was recently reported that Kiyoshi escaped his cell at the Sunagakure prison. As the village gates are being guarded he has not been able to escape. A skilled shinobi or group of novices is required to capture the convict. Be on your guard, as he is a skilled Fuuton user. Bring him in.. dead or alive.
Special Information: Repeatable. Any difficulty setting is allowed, as you will be the one(s) playing out the criminal. However, you are expected to make it believable—no one is invincible. There is a chance that you may be injured.

Mail Courier v2

Mission Information: The Postal Service of Sunagakure is requesting that a few shinobi deliver some letters to the ghetto districts of the village. Apparently, some sort of small gang calling themselves terrorists have targeted the postal service and have been stealing mail and beating couriers. There have been no reports of death yet, but tensions are rising and the couriers refuse to deliver to this section of the village anymore.. Something must be done. The shinobi will receive a mail satchel (must be returned) and a courier armband (also must be returned) and will be instructed to deliver items to the ghetto districts of the village. If the shinobi encounters the gang, they are instructed not to kill, but merely “teach them a lesson.” The gang itself is small and poses little threat to a trained shinobi, but be on your guard.

Little Rascal!

Mission Information: With age comes confidence, though sometimes it grows into an individual becoming extremely cocky. As well as difficult to manage, especially when this individual is a young Genin, age fifteen. With a few blood line techniques trained this kid has become rowdy and out of control, comparing himself to Kages. Beat him into submission.
Special Information: Repeatable. Any difficulty setting is allowed, as you will be the one(s) playing out the Genin as well. However, you are expected to make it believable—no one is invincible. There is a chance that you may be injured.

Sunagakure Cell

Mission Information: The Kazekage wants to promote unity in her village, and so has asked that all eligible shinobi come together to form teams of three. Considering the sordid amount of Chuunin and Jounin at the moment, the three are allowed to pick a leader amongst themselves, along with a name. Spend a bit of time together and learn more about one another!
Special Information: To complete this mission, 3 shinobi must take the mission with one another. 1 can be sent in to ask for the mission so long as they state the names of the other 2 members. Then simply roleplay in a thread for a while, getting to know each other. After the mission is complete, post your team (with name and leader) in the team thread stickied in Sunagakure no Sato.

Signing a Contract

Shinobi Required: 1-4.
Mission Information: Summons are a special sect of Ninjutsu that are nearly as prized and powerful as a bijuu. Not many shinobi have the skill to track down a family, and fewer are worthy enough to actually sign their name in blood upon the family’s contract. The Kazekage has decreed that any Sunagakure shinobi who does manage to accomplish this feat will be rewarded.
Special Information: Repeatable, so long as the contract is signed with a different family each time. To contract with a summon family remember that a GMed C-rank quest is required. If the quest is complete and the contract signed, this mission is also complete.

Mission Information: In order to protect the Hidden Village of the Sand from impending threats, random shinobi are often sent beyond the village gates into the wild to scout and discover travelers that intend to infiltrate the secret location. The shinobi must simply exit through the village gates, investigate, and return with a full, written report of their adventure in the wild. However, due to the lowered expectations of difficulty pertaining to the mission, any Sunagakure ninja sent on this mission are not expected to combat or intercept potential threats, but are expected to give assistance to any inflicted, endangered civilians. The maximum amount of time spent during their adventure into the wild cannot exceed more than three days; if one does not return after that duration, they will be assumed Nuke and sought after.

The Haunting in Suna

Mission Information: Recently there has been a series of reports of paranormal activity coming from the old estate down the road. A family had rented that place and claimed that they saw images of ghosts and dead people haunting the place and quickly they ran for cover and ran out of the house. Neighbors are moving out of their homes, terrified of the ghouls that reside within the estate. The landlord has asked that a shinobi or two come to investigate.
Special Information: Repeatable. As always with a mission of this rank, there is a chance of injury or death. Genin are permitted to take this mission, however, they are required to find a moderator to GM the process. Chuunin may simply roleplay it as normal.
Reward: 100 EXP and 2,500 Ryo.

Thief in the Night
Rank: B.
Shinobi Required: 1-4.
Mission Information: A man has wired his house to be thief-proof, his paranoia pushing him to the very brink. He wants to test his new subjects and has asked some ninja to break in and check the effectiveness of the system. He refuses to tolerate mistakes, and wants to identify any malfunctions before a real thief finds them for him. Warning that the security measures are tough and violence is very likely to occur. Be very cautious.

The Missing Caravan
Rank: B.
Shinobi Required: 1-4.
Mission Information: As one knows, the desert is a harsh mistress; she does not often provide rain to fill the water reserves in the village. The country is equipped with a coastline, but the water is filled with salt and thus not easily consumed. Therefore, caravans are sent out bi-weekly to the boarder countries to collect water from their rivers and lakes. Recently, a few of the caravans have been attacked on their trips—the people make it back safely, but the water does not. The Kazekage has asked a shinobi, or group of shinobi, to escort the caravan and make sure it returns to Sunagakure. Information about the attackers must also be gathered.

Protect the News

Mission Information: A newspaper man has received information about an upcoming assassination; there's a mafia family on the rise somewhere in the streets of Suna. The family received word about his information and they have sworn death to the news man. A threat was sent to him saying that in 3 days time, if he doesn't stop the news from spreading, they will come after him. Fearing for his life, the news man has asked if shinobi could come and protect him.

Mission Information: The Caravans have been saved, but for how long? From the information our shinobi gathered, it has become quite clear that these bandits have no intent to stop pilfering Sunagakure’s water any time soon. After a bit of intelligence collection by brave ANBU, the current location of the camp has been pin-pointed. Unfortunately, the tribe appears to be nomadic, so speed is necessary. The Kazekage has asked that a shinobi, or group of shinobi, infiltrate the camp and “persuade” them to cease and desist.
Special Information: Repeatable. Only those who have completed The Missing Caravan mission may take this one.

Wendigo Psychosis
Rank: A.
Shinobi Required: 1-4.
Mission Information: Even the best of the best can lose their way sometimes. A shinobi, Makuda Anzai, was dispatched on a surveillance mission into the heart of Kaze no Kuni’s desert with a team of two others. They did not return on the set time, and a search party was dispatched to locate them and return them safely to the village. After several days of harsh weather and hard travel, the search party found Makuda, but his partners were gone. His official statement is that they died of thirst and hunger; the ANBU that questioned him noted that he was, however, quite healthy. Recently, a string of grisly murders have broken out in a small settlement near the coast, a generally quiet fishing village with a small population. The bodies were found ravaged, as if eaten in part by a wild animal. The latest attack was witnessed by an old fisherman, who says he saw a man matching Makuda’s description dragging the child out of the village. Her body was found a few hours later in the same condition as the others, and Kazekage was notified immediately. Evidence points to Makuda Anzai having left the village at the time of the attack, and as he has not yet returned, it is asked that he be apprehended for questioning. While bringing him in alive is preferred, if the suspect retaliates with violence, kill him.
Special Information: Repeatable. Makuda Anzai is a Jounin-level taijutsu primary from Sunagakure no Sato. As such, when roleplaying the mission, you are permitted creative reign to give him any Taijutsu build you desire. He is cannibalistic, unhinged, and very dangerous; take this into account. The Tribal Duo

Shinobi Required: 1-4.
Mission Information: Finally, after a harsh battle, the Sand Tribe has been briefly persuaded to stop attacking Sunagakure caravans, saving the precious water for thirsty villagers. However, ANBU have captured a member of the tribe who says that the two leaders still run free, and that eventually the hostility will pick up again in full-force, if not more violently. The only information on these leaders is that one, a female, is a Zantetsuken, and the other, a male, is a Sunagami. Their exact location is unknown, but they were recently spotted near a large sand dune several miles from the tribe’s camp. The Kazekage has ordered her best shinobi out to kill these leaders, effectively removing the threat entirely.
Special Information: Repeatable. Both The Missing Caravan and Infiltrating the Tribe missions must be completed before this one can be taken. A moderator is required to GM the quest.

"Sweet digs."

Kenchiro breathed in that "fresh-cleaned administrative building" scent. "It's always nice to see a new building or two around this town. Government types have such an eye for decoration." He pulled a pair of mission statements off the wall so quickly, one could assume he had been looking them over for a while. He took them over to the desk, adding to it a folded up piece of paper from his pockets. "How do's, Miss... Naomi, is it? I'll make this quick, since we both got important work to do. I got this mission left over from the last administration that I need to collect on." He handed her the folded piece of paper, which turned out to be a written report on his exploits.

"Okay? Super. While I'm here, I got a hankering to change the world. I'm gonna tackle these little assignments. They're related, so I think I can swing both of them in one outing. I assume that's kosher. Super? Super. Well, if there's no outstanding complaints, I'm gonna split. Best time to make straw is when the sun is burning and all that rubbish." He rattled off his business with his best show of double talk. He wanted to get out there and start making rent money as fast as humanly possible, and this way he could be in and out so fast, sometimes the secretary forgets to make him handle the more tedious bureaucratic details like providing identification or signing his name to pointless sign-in sheets. Whatever she could not fill out herself, he always managed to finish up after the job was completed, so really, what was the harm in skipping a few steps?

The assistant typed into her computer fleetingly, seated in the same location as usual, and was prepared to aid every single person that came to her desk for help... and in this case, the young shinobi Kenchiro caught her attention. Upon lowering her glasses, she inspected the adolescent and was perplexed by his mature mannerism despite his age. Nonetheless, she extracted the report from his possession, opened it to assure it wasn't a joke, and smiled at the fact that this undoubtedly wasn't an illusion. Blissfully, she pulled out a cabinet beneath her desk and handed the earned sum to the Genin, before slipping the report into an organized file case.

"Hmm, congratulations on completing the assigned mission... as for these next two missions, you are free to begin them now. Good luck."

The beautiful receptionist gave an inspiring wink before shifting her attention away from the teenager, allowing him to set out into the world and chase his dreams once again.

And in came the white-haired Kaguya teenager, and upon the table he approached sat the quarter's receptionist: Naomi. Proudly, she withdrew the mission statement from the teenager and scanned it briefly, then tossed it alongside the remaining completed assignments. Just as the previous adolescent shinobi had shaken her understanding, she was surprised to notice more Genin receiving and finishing missions without fail... it was definitely a soothing thought.

"Thank you, young man... and you're approved for the next mission... be careful, though! There is still a lot of dangerous debris out there..."

Mission Information: Summons are a special sect of Ninjutsu that are nearly as prized and powerful as a bijuu. Not many shinobi have the skill to track down a family, and fewer are worthy enough to actually sign their name in blood upon the family’s contract. The Kazekage has decreed that any Sunagakure shinobi who does manage to accomplish this feat will be rewarded.
Special Information: Repeatable, so long as the contract is signed with a different family each time. To contract with a summon family remember that a GMed C-rank quest is required. If the quest is complete and the contract signed, this mission is also complete.

Eviscerate the Enemy II

Mission Information: Mindless killing is dangerous, but the Kazekage knows that sometimes one must kill an opponent to get a point across. In that end, it has been decreed that if a Sunagakure shinobi brings back the village headband or head of an enemy, they will be rewarded for their efforts. All are reminded that they will also receive the bounty for any nuke ninja killed.
Special Information: Repeatable. Hard/Advanced difficulty setting required. A village shinobi, nuke-nin, or non-ninja with 1,000 to 1,999 experience points falls into this category. To claim rewards, this mission does not actually have to be taken, but one must bring the evidence of their kill (a link to the thread) to the Kazekage Residence. Likewise, any character may complete this mission, regardless of rank.

Investigating the Desert

Mission Information: In order to protect the Hidden Village of the Sand from impending threats, random shinobi are often sent beyond the village gates into the wild to scout and discover travelers that intend to infiltrate the secret location. The shinobi must simply exit through the village gates, investigate, and return with a full, written report of their adventure in the wild. However, due to the lowered expectations of difficulty pertaining to the mission, any Sunagakure ninja sent on this mission are not expected to combat or intercept potential threats, but are expected to give assistance to any inflicted, endangered civilians. The maximum amount of time spent during their adventure into the wild cannot exceed more than three days; if one does not return after that duration, they will be assumed Nuke and sought after.

Having made it through customs, the traveling journalist was taken into the custody of Sunagakure's Ansatsu Senjutsu Tokushu Butai. The small group of private body guards, as he referred to them, escorted him into the Kazekage's office and dumped him on the floor. Rising from the the polished marble flooring, Akira dusted himself off, and in the presence of the shinobi leader, he took a bow. His letter, a finely crafted document from the chief editor of the Tsuchi no Kuni Post, addressed the reasons for his visit and requested the permission of the journalist to enter their hidden village. These false documents were flawless, as the media source was real, and the signature was perfectly crafted in mockery of the original text. But at this point, it didn't matter, he had made it thus far. Staying bowed until the anbu left their presence, the shinobi rose, a serious gaze centering on the Kazekage himself.

Taking a subtle step forth, he cleared his throat, allowing thin red lips to part. "Ignore the document, its a fake," he began, studying the reaction of this high ranking official. My real name is Nomazaki Genma, and I am understood to be a shinobi of Kumogakure. I left their village seven years ago, however I am still recognized among their ranks for the mystery behind my disappearance," he cooed, allowing the information to settle before he continued. He took another step forth, eyes shifting to the nearby window and the bright blue sky beyond it. "I can no longer pledge service to a village so corrupt, one that seeks to destroy all that surrounds it, and manipulates its people in the meanwhile. To me, the existence of that village needs to be eradicated."

Edging to the other side of the room, a world map plastered the stone surface. Lifting a red pen from the desk beneath it, Genma scanned the map with his fingers until he found the location and marked it off on the large image. "That is the location of Kumogakure," he tilted his head back to the kage, "I will infiltrate their ranks once again, and deliver information of their whereabouts and plans to you. Using this information, I hope that we can destroy the current Kumogakure so that they may rise from the ashes in new light. I will betray them, and in turn, give my service to you." This all seemed very sudden, but there was a last bit of information he had, that would surely grasp the kazekage's attention. "If you choose not to cooperate with me, Kumogakure will launch a full scale attack on you and your shinobi. Their attempts will be barbaric and merciless, they will kill everyone from women to child...This is a fate that neither of us can allow. I hope that you will understand my proposition."

Just barely exiting the company of the Sand Village's Council, I was suddenly left with the thought of which path to direct the desert oasis, and with my words resonating as sovereign all throughout the Wind Country, I had to make sure that it would be the right path. However, I couldn't help but grieve in the past failures that stemmed from the Sand's assumed leaders; from the prestigious First and Second Kazekages to the former seat-holder, each had succumbed to the malevolence that lurked outside the stone barricade, ultimately tarnishing their reputation with the brand of "missing" or "traitor". The theories of impending chaos was becoming progressively realistic with the mysterious disappearances, and the prophetical future itself was something that I just couldn't stomach. The Sand Council, turned delirious from the sporadic event, had no choice but to shuffle through their massive barracks to unearth a shinobi that had the least chance of not vanishing... a man with bonds and familiarity, someone who could stand up and stand out for his men... his name would be Rokuto Sunagami, at your service. A luminescent shine from the departing Sun gleamed brightly at my rear, pearly-white robes covering every inch of my frame as I sat at the Kazekage's commode, contemplating what to make of the lower-class shinobi with the Chunin Exams just around the corner. Before being given the massive jump in responsibility, I had ventured into several relationships with many Genin, and I had to say, their destiny was promising... but could they truly attend to their duties and achieve victory? The concept seemed docile with the village's history of allegiance, but I could only pray that a successful outcome from the exams would help breath hope back into the life of Sunagakure. "Pardon me, Lord Kazekage," Lost in thought, I raised my head to see three figures standing in the gargantuan doorway; two of them being ANBU men that I personally trusted, but in-between them stood a peculiar man, one that I couldn't have met before in my life. "But this man claims to have traveled all the way from the Earth Country, and wishes to request a private audience with you." The wanderer couldn't have chosen a worse moment to barge in, as a plethora of important papers and thoughts held the majority of my attention... but I would disregard it assuming that this man's message was just as meaningful. Gripped in the newcomer's hand was another piece of parchment, and with an overwhelmed sigh, I motioned the elite soldier to transport it to my position. Once the letter would reach my own hand, I gave a faint, respectful nod toward the two guards, enabling them to leave us alone... and within seconds, the room was left to just the nameless man and myself. Fleetingly, I scanned the written ink, but before I could completely decipher what the letter was composed of, the presence of the messenger suddenly altered, and miraculously, his true intentions was revealed. During his revelation, my face remained impassive but curious, a fist holding up the base of my chin. Initially, the realization that a foreign, potential threat from another village had infiltrated our base was angering, but there was honestly zero conflict between Sunagakure and Kumogakure, nor the remaining villages... that was publicly known. However, the man had ventured thus far with a reason that must've been critically essential, and I made it my business to damn-sure find out what it was. With the incredulous marking of the Cloud Village's location, I contemplated the mysterious traveler's proposition and whether his words were sincere; although the truce between the villages created a dull environment and fruitless aspiration for the improvement of talent, I couldn't simply make a decision on a whim, and I preferred treaties rather than pushing my innocent citizens and shinobi into dangerous situations. His information nonetheless, if true, spoke of a forthcoming war... something that I couldn't just ignore. "Hmm, Nomazaki Genma... there would be more conviction behind your words if your reputation preceded you, but your name doesn't spark even the slightest interest from my recollection... and neglecting the fact that you entered the territory of the Sand Village under false identity, nothing has previously come to the light to justify such accusations... but even so, I don't want to be burdened with refusing to seize the opportunity when it was presented. However, before I proceed to entrust you with even a dabble of faith, I have an eerie feeling that there is something you're not telling me... what is your true motivation for committing treason against your homeland?" "Heh.."

It was only natural that there was resistance; human nature dictated suspicion in such peculiar events, especially those that fell together so perfectly. The commitment of his proposal was a hard concept to swallow, as it seemed that our dear kazekage was smarter than the average joe. It only made sense, a man of great intellect was necessary to a functioning shinobi village, even in desperate times. In an era of war, trust is more expensive than the strongest of weapons; Genma, needed Rokuto, as much as the Kazekage needed him. And for their alliance to grow, they both had to see the big picture. What is best for the world, and more importantly: Sunagakure.

The reality of it, was that Genma had already proven his trust, by revealing his true identity. He could have easily slain the Kazekage without the slightest hint of his true allegiance, but he didn't, and that was fact that the shinobi meant business. Turning a chair in front of the kage's desk, he fell into its embrace, crossing one leg over the next. His hands rested in his lap, and he leaned forward to signify the importance of his visit. "Ah. I understand you have questions, but there is something I must ask first," he began, flashing Rokuto a grin, "Do you know a man by the name of Etsuko Soratsu? He's an old acquaintance of mine, and I understand he has sworn oath to Sunagakure" He already knew the answer, but sought to bring emphasis to the fact that his existence wasn't as small as it seemed.

This wasn't enough to satisfy Rokuto's thirst for answers, the basis on which decided the foundation of their partnership. Genma smiled innocently, displaying the extreme shift in emotional display he was capable of. His entire aura changed in an instant, transitioning from deathly serious air, to that of an innocent bystander. A scary yet fascinating quirk. And he let the splendor unravel, rooting deeply in the fascination of his ally. His hands disappeared beneath the folds of his coat, from which he retrieved a porcelain mask, tossing it onto the Kazekage's desk for further inspection. Thin eye slots were overran by a feint purple lightning bolt crossing over the right eye, a light red line symbolizing the mouth.

He smiled briefly before his thin red lips diverged once more, "That is how I've managed to stay off the radar. Though our friend Etsuko can vouch for me, that I am a man of my word. Consider this in your lack of trust: I have both revealed my true identity, and given you the location to Kumogakure. Given the current circumstances, I could have killed you and been on my way. But the fact of the matter is that we need one another, and I am more than intrigued by an alliance, after which I plan to join your ranks. Im offering you both the chance to protect your village, and crush your foes while they least expect it. I...will be your ace in the hole. As for my reasoning, I cannot reveal everything to you. You have your secrets, as I do mine, and trusting someone so easily in times like these is asking for a knife in your back. However, this is how I seek to prove myself to you, so that I can seek abode within your village. My betrayal to Kumogakure is the result of their arrogance, and lack of faith in a village so corrupted by shinobi. I can not forgive them for their treacherous acts, you see: my father was a respected shinobi of the village. When he became too powerful, the leaders feared him, and killed him before he could expose their sins. It is for this reason, that I want to bring down Kumo. Not only to ensure revenge, but to protect the shinobi world from such cruel embodiment."

The air was cold, and the intensity was steadily rising... our frozen pupils gazed into one another, and the intolerance became mutual. Any other person would've immediately branded the mysterious newcomer as a threat and would've sought to eliminate him as quickly as possible, but there was a thin line between accepting his proposition to declare war on the Cloud Village and killing the possible conspirator right on the spot. There hadn't been any tales of village-against-village conflicts in ages; a universal peace treaty held the destroyed villages in an unrelenting truce, but to assume that murderous competition would never rise again in the Ninja World would eventually become a foolish prophecy. The land of the shinobi was birthed around the concept of endless combat and plotting annihilation with the hope of survival... it was only just. Through the sheer fact that this man, Nomazaki Genma, had revealed an identity stained with the thought of deception in a location that shouted all odds were against him, it persuaded me to believe that there had to be some justification behind this omen... and then came a moniker that breathed from the traitor's mouth, something that had finally shot my eyes wide open... Etsuko... Soratsu?! The refugee of the Lightning... he was speaking of a dead man as if he were still alive. Dumbfounded, there was something unsettling about the Cloud shinobi's comment, and I couldn't tell if he was claiming the Nidaime to be a current acquaintance of the man, which would've meant the powerful leader had indeed escaped the clutches of the Sand Village and was roaming free in the world. However, to believe such information was just as cautious as this forewarning of war, and I had no choice but to simply disregard the relationship until I could better accept the truth behind this random encounter. Folded hands rose up to my face as my gaze shifted to the side, contemplating what the decision would be when it came to the interesting events... Genma proclaimed that he could've easily assassinated me and been on his merry-way, which was a laughable thought, although I hadn't made it visibly known. With a confidence and nerve that was inspiring, and I could only dream of what he could accomplish as a fellow Sand shinobi, but he would still have to earn my reliance. The Lightning traitor's story was compelling, and I felt sympathetic that he had ventured thus far with such a resolute determination, but conclusively, the public neutrality between the Sand and the Cloud wasn't going to falter under the Genma's persevering meddling... I simply needed more. "Hehe, well then, I see. You speak of an impending war, utilizing a suspicious claim of personally knowing the Nidaime Kazekage and a heartfelt memoir to lower my guard... but this is still too much to believe without some concrete information. However... your independence and endeavor to save the Sand Village from being flanked cannot be ignored, and I thank you for that. This matter will be investigated furthermore, you have served your purpose for now... please, after such a length journey, I permit you some complimentary rest within the village, and in the meanwhile, I'll consider placing you within our ranks. Lastly, I ask that you do not attempt to leave the boundaries of the village just yet, for I may require your assistance in solidifying these accusations against Kumogakure." ¤ smexy template made by renni of nrp ¤

The young Kazekage exceeded his reputation, which became apparent after an array of clever observations, however, Genma expected nothing less of an exalted leader. To this affect there was minimal trust between the two, less than he could squeeze from the gripes of any other leader. It was the Kazekage's lack of trust, that made him a formidable companion. He cared so dearly for his village, that he couldn't afford to invest his all in a stranger, which also made him less likely to betray the treacherous shinobi. Genma couldn't afford to form coalition with anyone else; he had the deepest connections with Sunagakure over other villages for the mere fact that his old acquaintance had ruled over these lands, gaining him leverage not only through their relationship, but the interest of the residing Kazekage's in the whereabouts of the former.

It was absurd that anyone, least of all a mere shinobi, could waltz into Rokuto's abode and claim lethality if he so chose. But the reality of his statement was to a greater affect, it left the Kazekage contemplating the skills of his guest, as well as how he could have handled the situation if push came to shove. Nonetheless, they were both alive thanks to the innocuous intent of the intruding shinobi; by the time he had walked in through those large swiveling doors, he had thoroughly contemplated at least seven plausible methods of assassination, six of them likely to succeed. But rather, he pushed for something more banal, eager to urge friendship over bloodshed. You never know when someone has an ace up their sleeve.

Digesting the response of his comrade, he smiled genuinely.
