Somehow, this impromptu exchange was either going to fortify the relationship between the Sand and the Cloud, or it was going to end in the complete destruction of one another. I appreciated the excursion and trouble Genma had endured in the sake of granting me such information, but our ties for now were meager and wary; Death licked her bloodied lips with a starvation that thirsted for the outcome of the future events, and I would make sure that it would be satisfied with the lives of the Kumogakure fiends or this man alone. Since I had already determined that this was going to be something undoubtedly worth the investigation, the first order of business called for yet another meeting with the Sand Council, to discuss what the elders would acknowledge to be the most logical path to chance... But, even so, there was still one remaining problem that I couldn't wait to be more enlightened about... something that the Lightning native had nonchalantly unearthed in the midst of this encounter. The Sand Village's lineage of prestigious leaders since the initial rebirth had fallen into the darkness of the unknown, and left our ambition as a military force trembling; the Shodaime Kazekage was missing, unable to be declared alive or deceased, but we trudged forward; the Nidaime Kazekage had unfortunately followed in her footsteps, and so did the former seat-holder... and the citizens began to wonder if Sunagakure was still harmless with the superiors disappearing left and right. These occurances pissed me off to no point of reconciliation, and with the dream of someday obtaining the title of "Sandaime", I made it my own personal mission to discover their locations. The traitor continued to portray a visage of innocence, to zero effect, but my own seriousness and attention remained kept. I could understand his reasoning for wanting to return to the suggestion of entering the Sunagakure army... his plans consisted of destroying his origins, a place that he had grown to call "home", and I couldn't help but wonder if he sought to remain a faithful servant of the Sand or planned to reconstruct the obliterated foundation under a new reign. Nonetheless, I'd have to witness how these chain of events would orchestrate, and his plea to remain cleanhanded would be agreed... upon one condition. "You've come to realize that our trust for one another is somewhat ethereal at the moment, but along with some leisure and protection, I'll allow your true identity to remain seclusive. However, the information you possess foretells of an extremely unfortunate demise... and as a result, your presence is important, and I'll require constant monitoring to assure that you will not flee or be captured. Please, accept some of my finest men as your guidance while you are within Sunagakure...but, I need you to relieve one more thing before you are permitted to leave." And then, a pause, the rigor in the air became suspenseful... "The name... Soratsu Etsuko, you claim to know him personally... or to have known. The people of Sunagakure treasured him as one of our inspirational leaders, but with his sporadic departure, we were unable to conclude if he had betrayed his village... or if he were even still alive. The last sighting of the man has been more than seven years, but I feel you harbor something that would lead us to discovering what happened to him. Do you know anything that pertains to where he may have gone?" I waited. ¤ smexy template made by renni of nrp ¤ | [atrb=valign, top] |
