The rising morning sun filled the dusty streets of the Hidden Sand with life. It was the glimpse of good temperature the villagers experienced before the sun reached it's highest point in the sky at mid-day, where it proceeded to rain it's powerful and bright rays upon the land below. The people of the Hidden Sand Village were used to it though. Life had to go on even if the conditions were uncomfortable. This was their home, their everything.
Kekkai Yulo clicked open the door of the Kazekage Compound, walking out into the streets after receiving his task for the day. It was a simple one, yet an important one. Every citizen of the village had to feel as if they could rely upon the assistance of the shinobi. They were the slaves to the public, allowing for ideas of protection and support to generate amongst the minds of the population. Yulo didn't mind. He gained money as a reward for his errands, and helping out wasn't such a big deal.
He walked at a moderate pace, holding out a single scroll with the details of the mission he would perform today. His skills were required to assist an old woman replenish her water supply. It seemed like an easy job. The more he thought about it, the more he realised that this job required little-to-no skill. Something easy. It was definitely what he wanted. Working an easy job for some good pay. It was what everyone wanted, wasn't it?
Finally reaching the gates of the village, Yulo inspected the house numbers of the residential areas that existed in his vicinity. Upon stumbling across the house he was looking for, Yulo tapped lightly on the door twice to signal his arrival. He wondered whether the woman would be awake. Although it was not that early in the morning, old people did enjoy lengthy sleep patterns. At last he was greeted by an elderly woman who cautiously unlocked her door for him. "Ms Kato! I'm here to deliver your water to you for today. I'll be back with your water as soon as possible!"
Yulo tried to sound enthusiastic as if he was very keen to perform the job for her. After all, the mission detailed that she should be respected in order to gain her favour for future services. An enthusiastic approach to perform her tasks was a sign of respect, right? She squinted in response, not muttering a single word. All that she did was nod her head and signal for him to get on with it. That was fine with him. Yulo wasn't a fan of old people and could never really connect with them. The quicker he got off on his way, the better.
So off he went. With a simple bow of his head, Yulo stepped off the old woman's porch and headed back onto the streets. His next destination: the fresh water system of the Hidden Sand. Unlike the other hidden villages with their fresh streams running across the mountainside, his own village had none of the sort. Unless you wanted a bucket filled with sand, the citizens of the Hidden Sand used the water system. Yulo assumed he would have no hiccups along the way. Today just seemed to be an average day for the citizens of the Hidden Sand.
