Chapter One!" SAND to GLASS "The Shinobi World had survived the reign of Hell, dozens of calamities thrashing through the lands, especially the Wind Country, and despite the complete obliteration that nearly exterminated the human race, the survivors remained determined. Nothing was expected to happen except rejuvenation for the broken Sand, and with the contingent appearance of the One-Tailed Bijuu, SHUKAKU, chaos seemed to be imminent once again. But the people of the reborn Sunagakure was unshaken. With the aid of the Samurai and the God of Death, the beast was tamed, and the citizens beckoned for a leader to help prevent such an occurrence from succeeding twice. From the illustrious sands came the birth of the First Kazekage of Sunagakure, YOUKA ETSUKO, the Desert Flower. Under the tutelage of a family that was renown for their impeccable shinobi talent, the woman came to sustain a glorious reign in the village, and proudly earned the title of the New Sand's Shodaime Kazekage. However, such victorious inspiration would be short-lived.
Destruction. It was the only thing Sunagakure had seen with the defection of their beloved leader, Youka, and for reasons unknown, she left Sunagakure to fend for itself against unknown threats when the village needed her the most, spurring and manifesting a sense of hatred toward any higher enforcement due their failure to protect the village. Despite such, in the rubble and the wake of all the DESTRUCTION left by Kouketsu Uchiha and Masumi Hozuki, a single powerful figure emerged from the shambles.
Although the man had also initially defected from Sunagakure, the Hiraishin user, SORATSU ETSUKO, former head of the ANBU Divisions within the village, gathered and assembled the remaining survivors. Using his gifts of persuasion and careful words, he managed to sway the many people into once again coming together as a unit. They needed to join together if they wanted to get through this ordeal -- they needed to be a village.
Needless to say, gathering and motivating Sunagakure's citizens wasn't as easy as it appeared. In the shadows, much like in the years when the Etsuko family ruled over the lands, the village council objected and found it ridiculous - absurd, even - at the idea of allowing a person who defected their village to take over as the mantle of Kazekage.
The threat of war and the prospect of an attack on the village itself being completed without resistance was too much to be ignored, however. With the village's ANBU having been virtually eliminated completely, the only remaining force and power among the shinobi was Soratsu. The council, even with all their hate for him and his family, had to oblige by his wishes to take control over the village.
Through all the destruction and humiliation the village received through the attacks, one thing became evidently clear to all the shinobi, and even the council itself -- war was eminent. The council needed to know of the possibility of future threats, so on the day of his inauguration, Etsuko Soratsu, the new Kazekage, did just that--"The people of the village want justice for the attack on our soils." Garbed in clothing only fitting to that of a Kazekage, Soratsu spoke among his peers. "I, and only myself, will bring justice for our fallen men and women. The only way to ensure this never happens again, and avenge those that we have lost is by the--A pause.
"Complete destruction of Iwagakure."
Justice. Revenge. War was nigh.
